on February 9th 2022 while on patrol an officer observed a vehicle abruptly cut into the parking lot of Rena drive-thru before continuing westbound on Main Street as the vehicle passed by the officer ran its plate through leads and discovered that the registration was expired the officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop but as they continued traveling the suspect's speed kept increasing this vehicle also ran a red light at which point the officer activated his overhead emergency lights and began actively pursuing the [Music] vehicle 29 with oncoming eastbound traffic the suspect attempted to Swerve back into the westbound Lane but lost control and collided head-on with another vehicle traveling eastbound inside the vehicle that was struck was a father and his two daughters instead of surrendering the suspect jumped out of the vle and fled on foot I'm sorry shut up I hear Stu I'm King my brain somebody hopped out the car okay anything on you poke me stick me hurt me bro somebody dropped out the car you dropped out of the car no yeah sorry I I did I did pass you ran out the car I know but I'm telling you right now like my car wouldn't stop it's not even in my name but I wasn't driving the car I didn't run away or nothing someone hoed out the car right there any major injuries bro no you're bleeding from the mouth a little bit legs hurt arms hurt back hurt head hurt anything no okay and I don't know but I hear something that be body talking me and everything is this your car we got everybody's out of both cars yeah I'll make sure Lally did that have a seat man take some breaths what your name bro for hog why you driving like that I wasn't driving I wasn't driving somebody run away you is your last chance is this the right information I'm going to run it and it's just going to pull up a picture right there on that screen is this you yeah yeah I was sitting at the light at Oak Wood he cuts through the the the drive-thru hold I run the plate comes expired I'm like I'll just pull out cuz the light turned green was running from you he he he didn't even see me like I didn't even have time to call it out he's hauling trying to catch up I light him up down by in Black Horse there and he keeps going blows the red light at at Brady Lake comes I'm staring to call it out he swerves around cars Clips this one goes up on the side flips immediately bailes and runs in so I stopped and and gave Chase we ran around back there for a minute and then he came back and just kind of laid down and and gave up so that was up man you need evaluated by the squad yeah um someone was in the car the car wouldn't stop like no no no no hey no he's about you right now medically that's what he's asking about my head like my head all right we got some squads coming so we'll get you checked out okay all right yeah but he I didn't even try and light him up he blew P hul before I even thought about starting a traffic stop I don't think he gave me the right name though cuz he's like uh the last four is 5112 that's uh so and so like he's he's not he's lying I I saw him pick up a phone that's that's fine the rest of this leave I was I was in the middle but I had to go in the Middle Lane can I leave I'm not involved you didn't get hit at all no but I was right in front of it okay do you have to do you have to leave or are you able to write something now I will write something down okay yeah we didn't want to leave were you in the car too I was in the do we know whose vehicle this is that's yours can you at least put it in the parking lot for us let me get you guys uh a form to fill out for me okay they want to make sure there's no one in here Police Department I don't see I didn't see anyone I'm going to run this plate they're supposed to be coming okay yeah no one else is here your car didn't get hit at all did it no I was I was I was turn I was about to turn in here when it all happened I just wanted to make sure okay thank you yep he's a 21 so the front is that okay that's fine yeah they're they're Squad they're rule so is he going to be a remaining custody of the hospital yeah well he's going to is there if he rides yeah sure we the yep the father and daughters in the other vehicle were provided first aid at the scene before being transported to uhmc for further medical treatment the suspect was later identified as dcoin Hogan he was also transported to the same medical facility for treatment of minor injuries later an officer visited Daquan to obtain a statement and unsurprisingly he had a whole fictional story ready for the officer you able to talk you are uh you or whoever else if there was other someone someone else in the driving I don't think there was I don't lie okay if you were driving own that all it's going to all it's going to do is is help you out in theend okay so you're in the car you see me sitting at the traffic light right okay again uh someone like he just cuz I supped B this well I bought the Caron dude whatever and someone else Dro I basically at this point like I'm basically here just to go back home you know basically like he cut through the light well no he didn't cut through the light he went through the w man the parking lot yeah and he kept going and then like and then like he saw you look back and freaked out like like he was like freaked out and then hit the car like I didn't even see you at this point he saw you through the mirror and freaked out in the car like did ass okay how fast were you guys going uh he was going about 40 no no he wasn't 45 4550 what if I told you I was running 90 to try and catch up with you guys and you guys were still I mean I was catching up to you but you guys were still pretty far away that don't see that don't make sense because there were it was a car it was car straight ahead of us this car is all cars ahead of us and once like once uh he keep going like whatever like he keep going I guess like he see your lights and then he just doesn't stop like like I don't know why and that's why I'm like we basically like who's he um I don't know I don't know come on man I don't know see me on the camera um on the traffic cameras like probably see me on the passengers I don't know probably or I will definely like you definitely like what I mean and you check the camera why did you run I ran because I don't got no parts in so I don't got no parts this like I'm not supposed to be here in um supposed to be in Cleveland for this uh burgly charge I'm not supposed to be here I came here to get my ID and stuff so I could put that car on my name my stuff was never there um where' you get car from um I got it from um um I don't know this dude just like we went to his house went to his house where's this at is this up in Cleveland is this down here uh this is down here okay but like the dude I got the car from he live in Cleveland but like I like I don't drive a car like I have to like I have to give the car I got to go get the car basic and that's when I got dropped all down here my friend house and then um then um he he was like picking me up whatever I asked about a car whatever like off an Unown number whatever like all that stuff happen is the car hot is the car stolen um I don't know I was going to bought off this dude he just ran who is he um I don't know his name I don't know his name does he meet you somewhere you meet him does he pick you up I met cuz I was already in uh rown and I was trying to get back to Cleveland and then like did you used to live in rown yeah okay but now you live in Cleveland yeah I'm not sure why you guys blew past me or you blew past me whoever was driving we're going to figure it out probably in the next five minutes when we pulled the video on my car my Sergeant's doing that right now so if you're the only one in the car man just tell were you the only one in the car okay I was sitting at the light and you guys blew past me cutting through the parking lot um yeah he cut through the parking lot and he went straight yeah he went straight and he kept going okay like I said as of right now you're under arrest okay uh for b no as of right now you're you're believed to be The Driver okay I was behind you I saw the car flip I saw you get out of the car you and only you get out of the vehicle and take off running the car already s mhm like the car already car was upside down and then you crawled out and took off running yeah and I yelled police stop and you looked at me and kept running you actually ran out of your shoes I have your shoes too yeah but the car was already flipped M like he already ran out like he's already gone at that time before it flipped yes okay that's a story you're sticking to all right well for your sake I hope it's true but I don't believe it is so it is what it is all right depending on their injuries I got to go check with the people believe there's four people in that car potentially two children like younger kids and I believe they're actually hurt so for now you're staying the cuffs and uh you're under arrest okay the officer also spoke to the unfortunate victims who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time how are you oh just perfect you okay all right were you you I'm assuming you were in the vehicle driving okay yeah like I said I I don't know I was the officer trying to get him I don't know if you saw me coming down the hill or anything came and him out um okay yeah and then you were picking stuff up do you need him or can I talk okay um what happened I don't know I heard that you guys were chasing him and he I mean T-Bone the crap out of me coming up by the well we just left Walmart we were coming up and he hit me like right by uh what is that Sandy Lake Road or right by the trailer park yeah bag's Garden Center and all that stuff right okay it happened so quick and he flipped we flipped like three times over because I was still looking out the window watching the world go around trying to get my hand over to my daughter okay and uh Holly got out first and Alec was in the back seat he didn't have a seat Bel on I know okay how old is this a younger kid older kid my two kids okay okay in the car with okay do you know if they're okay or anything I haven't I haven't gone to talk to you have you talked to them yes they're okay no no serious injuries that we know of exactly okay okay I was hanging upside down on that seat Bel didn't make it feel a lot better but right um she she let me out and then I some people stopped at the accident helped us get up and out of the car and then I started you know made sure the kids were okay and then started picking up like our stuff as much as we could I hope they got all that of course officers didn't believe a word of dcoin story he was charged with failure to comply with an officer's order and multiple traffic violations had the vehicle been confirmed as stolen Hogan would have also faced a charge for receiving stolen property however at the time no evidence of theft was found so no additional charges were pursued
