On August 9th, 2022, New Mexico State Police spotted a vehicle linked to an armed robbery in Santa Fe. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Brett Jude Armijo, took off at dangerous speeds through city streets. 121 say come vehicle taking off. Armijo fled on foot, but was quickly captured and found carrying a clear bag containing several blue fentanyl pills weighing a few grams in total. He admitted to consuming around 15 pills before the chase and confessed to the armed robbery. Armijo faces multiple charges including armed robbery, felony evading, drug possession, and resisting arrest. His passengers were detained, questioned, and later released pending further investigation.
