From Tesla to toeboat to trouble. On the afternoon of May 5th, 2025, just before 4 p.m., deputies in Martin County were alerted to a stolen luxury yacht speeding away from Blowing Rocks Marina in Jupiter, Florida. The 68T vessel valued at $2.5 million became the center of a wild 90minute pursuit across the waterways. Are you >> Oh, okay. I think you took it to try to pay off your debts or try to help your family or or something like that. And I'm not buying that that you took it for an act of God or cuz you were drunk or something like that. He stopped, but the boat was still in some sort of motion because of the of the water and I couldn't do anything. So >> So you just took it for a joy ride. you weren't trying to pay debts off or anything because you told me you were trying to pay your debt >> and he doesn't remember how much he owe on credit cards is maybe it's$10,000 and maybe it's $20,000. Around 1:00 a.m., Vilov left his Tesla near a Jupiter restaurant and was spotted by the docks. By 2:00 a.m., he'd stolen and grounded a toeboat, then lingered near yachts for hours, even sleeping on board. At 3:55 p.m., he took a $2.5 million yacht, later recovered with damage. Deputies ended the standoff with tear gas, arresting him without further resistance. He faces charges of grand theft, aggravated fleeing with property damage, and resisting arrest with and without violence.
