just makes me want to cry on August 24th 20122 someone called in stating that a person was swerving all over the road the caller informed dispatch that the truck pulled into a bar C but Hut when officers arrived the suspect said he's been there for a while which almost worked hey did you just pull in i' been here for a while you been here for a while yeah okay appreciate [Music] it well there's a guy in a pink shirt he said he's been here for a while but I don't [Music] know you Dro that Toyota out there oh can I come speak with you for a minute so we just got some calls about you just pulled in here like two seconds ago you told me been here a while huh I'm been here for a little bit uh that's not the calls we got that's that's not what what other people are saying you just pulled in here did you hit something just now that's been damaged that deer on my truck okay you had a deer yes when was that back how long's a while back month couple months okay let's do I'm I mean to fix it but not fixed it yet so did you drive here yes yes sir okay all right and you what are you doing here to for a little bit just coming yeah chilling trying to have trying to have a good time oh so where are you coming from uh I town I some fans uh the book store bookstore bu some books M what kind of books oh this some books and movies signal one H he's definitely signal one he been it to driving driving here but he said he's been here for a while so yeah he's got some pretty good damage on his truck over there sure they got all right oh I mean what time are you saying you got here not something to eat something to drink no something to e all right you're the best in town know okay so um here's where we're having an issue you know we we just want to make sure that you know you were safe to drive prior to driving air um you think you'd be willing to do some tests just to determine whether you're safe to drive not I feel I am yeah yeah so you think you willing to do some tests to determine whether or not you're safe to drive huh La no we don't have time for that have you anything to drink tonight had drink how many one just one one what that's one all right we we got calls that you're all over the road that's why we're here like you couldn't you couldn't maintain your lane so we just want to make sure that come lawyer I mean we we don't have the lawyer bar yet no come I don't know what that's about yeah he's you know so we we followed him all the way from um Atlanta Highway and Timothy road because he was like all over the road and somebody was calling in about him months ago I think I what it's I mean sir you have slur speech I can smell alcohol on you you got cold alcohol in your car open container I mean and that's that's not even including the fact that people called you in it's not open got to unlock it car why you putting in the car you want them to transport whose handcuff is it you want us to transport you want me to transport we transport for you question who handcuffs are these that's mine that's his can you un handcuff me one second to tell a dip out of my mouth how long you known him I just seen him come out here some come out here that's it that's all I can't say I mean yeah or is a character wi this for him no I can't I'm just you just out here I know I hate this for him I really do hurt my heart seeing that flag cuz I know he's probably going through it for sure yeah I appreciate you stopping and saying something I was was hoping that's all it was was because if if you didn't know him I mean and I mean just him talking you would think he's this guy's you know he's skin yeah maybe he is on this case you know you know if he was um mil injured in the military or anything like that that would cause the speech impediment good treatment court and Veterans Court here in Athens um which I'm going to put him up for and see if we can get him in um to get some help there because he's obviously going through something so going be awesome and I I hate to see it I really do my brother struggled a lot when he came back and at aumn containers maybe y'all can I don't know maybe P them in the right direction any yeah I'll I'll definitely put in something for veterans court for him and hopefully get him in there so they can keep him on the right track and help him out because I know a lot of veterans struggle with this kind of stuff and it's just my brother had a lot of PTSD and they kept throwing pills at him and he didn't want you know I don't think he he comes through ever so often his tag ain't from around here is it or we transpor guys uh is this tag local or no oh I don't say say better yeah not sure oh yeah he had he had Sunday Sunday can't let that slide I mean so that's that's yeah he going was he get locked up he just going to get a bond yeah he'll be probably be able to get out tonight no biggy do you want his information or see if he wants to take yours can you get a car I mean you got a carard his truck uh where is it it's at the butt Hut on Mon Highway uh I have to talk to my husband but I guess so okay he has a he has a rifle in the truck that he's worried about um and I think that's why he wanted y'all to come get it um as there we're going to do our best to secure the vehicle we'll lock it up um but if if y'all aren't able to get it is there somebody else maybe that you'd want no we could probably get it okay is uh can I have a candid conversation with you for a second yep you sure can is he going through I told him I said you either go out there and you tell that man the truth or you need to get on somewhere cuz we Ain in the line of cops around here yeah he's but he just walked in there right for you that's what I figured I didn't see him pull up I did see he come around through there and well I was coming cuz it well we going to tell I was going to get you I wasn't going to let him oh yeah I was trying to give him two seconds to go honest and be a man about what he done done you know what I mean well I was looking to see if there's cuz they described it as a pink shirt no which I was looking at you too so I'm like oh who's my guy here yeah well that's all right I would have tried to be honest with you you know what I mean you ain't going to get no where Al no so we're trying to figure out who's taking a report I don't know I think the comes out it doesn't doesn't I'll say this right now it doesn't affect me either way whose car is it in huh whose car is he in he's in there they should take the huh and yeah to he didn't want to take it so that joker should be taking it got my I don't know if he's going through a military trauma well sort of uhhuh I saw that I saw that he had a folded up flag in his door so that was my concern is that he's going through a crisis right now and I want to be able to get him the best help possible um well had some problems and I guess I forgot what they call it um he's supposed to be evaluated but they haven't done it yet okay so I'm going to try to put in a request for him to be seen by the veterans court here in Athens um and they're very good about getting people like David the help that they need and getting them back on track um helping them get clean and then helping them get whatever mental health or any kind of help that they might need um do you think that'd be beneficial for him yes I mean he had some kind of rehab back in January uhuh um and I imagine you've seen that he's been arrested before he said he has I haven't looked it up yet but he said that he has in fact he's supposed to be on probation right now yeah so he's been he's been struggling for a while then yes okay well I'm sorry I have I have a brother who was in the military and did a lot of the same stuff so I I can empathize with you for sure I know it's difficult um to keep getting calls like this um but I definitely want to be able to help him any way that I can and uh I appreciate you talking to me cuz I'm I'm going to try to put him up for that veterans court just hopefully get him some good help he should be able to bond out tonight there's some gentlemen here at at the butt Hut who were talking to him and I think they want to help him bond out so I gave him their information and we're going to go from there okay um can I get your name again yep it's officer wexel w x do you I probably will have if y'all are able to come get his truck I probably have somebody wait here with the keys is since he's got a gun in there is there um do you know how long it would be before y'all could make your way unit that self attached themselves that just came here to help out to get the vehicle stopped after this officer sets them straight they keep this arrest going if you think you recognize her she's been on multiple videos but most noticeable on this video here her kindness shows on that video as well as in every video she's been in hey David yes ma'am I called your parents they're going to come pick up the car okay um we're going to have an officer wait here with it you ready to go my dad my lawyer is your dad going to yes I didn't ask him that but I I can write down your dad's phone number if you'd like so you can call him from from the jail yes ma okay what about your unit man um can you look at about um address whose address a number um whatever you need honey I'll write down for you okay there a lieutenant colonel or Colonel or major anybody there that would I'm trying to who still you have a sergeant the officer wrote down multiple phone numbers to help him out of this situation is there any other numbers you need no do you want him to have any numbers for you no no give that to us dad those numbers yeah those numbers give him yeah give him to his dad when he gets here that's who he want to call okay who's your attorney huh who's your attorney my dad we have the information okay okay will you give this to to them and say give that to the dad when he gets here okay okay are save you a little heartache so what he did tell me he's been on watching yeah so watch him we we've had some calls with him for that before so um I I told told his mom I don't know if I told you about the veterans court program but yeah I'm going to put him up for that for sure I'm going to fill that out that form out when we get to the jail and make sure and I'm going to email the guy who's in charge of it and give him his name to make sure he knows to contact him and reach out to him so yeah I appreciate it this SM like you mhm all right let's head on um that I'm that's fine I'm still
