dispatched to a residence in response to a disturbance the caller identified as Rachel Villa Rogers reported that her friend later identified as Edward Gonzalez was threatening to kick in her door officers had little time to waste as Edward was growing increasingly aggressive by the minute as you can see by the time officers arrived at the Rachel's front door he was already gone officers began looking for him and during the search one officer spotted a male who perfectly matched the suspect's description Department hello hi I'm officer CPD are you okay yeah I'm good did you need to come in what what all happened well I got Okay so I don't even want to call him my boyfriend okay um but he um is not supposed to be drinking he just got out of rehab for alcohol and um they didn't have a for him so I let him come here till he found a place but he's drinking um when he's drinking I can't let him ask because he gets destructive verbal abuse um aggressive he just so today my neighbor cross the street she called me I wasn't here cuz he started drinking when I wasn't here and she said he was at the oips and started a fight with her son who lives right across the street from me so I knew that something wasn't right with him because he was drinking so um but when he was threatening to kick the door down cuz I wouldn't let him in that's when I called you guys okay when did you let him stay here when how long ago was it you let him stay here he's been here a couple of months's been I'm not gonna lie to you I'm not gonna lie to you the life house didn't have an opening for him okay and um you know I'm I just was hoping that supposedly Monday he was going to start a new job MH and you know have have money come in so that he could get his little wings and fly but um I just I can't have him here while he's drinking or while he's intoxicated okay and he literally he is homeless I'm not just covering up for him but he just doesn't I think people are so tired of him burn you know he's burnt all his Bridges and I have facilitated him in every way that I know how well I can tell you really care and you really you got about broken already because of him and I just you got you got to think about yourself I do I and I'm trying to um I just keep giving him the benefit of the doubt you know you think because they've gone to rehab and you know they're clean and um this is the second time since he got out of rehab and he's done the same that he um you know started drinking I don't know how much he's drank tonight all I know is he was sitting here and I could see that he was drinking vodka of choice and it's just it it makes him crazy literally it makes him crazy so and he was asking for a phone charger and he it's right there behind the bench he doesn't even know that it's there um and Miss Rogers the the reason why I say you have to make a choice 100% one way is because once you let them live here for an extent amount of time he established his residency and that really ties our hands in situations like this you know what I mean like I definitely agree that you know he's he's probably a different person when he drinks and things are bad when he drinks and all that but it's complicated because he has every right to be in this house just like you do if he's a resident you know what I mean that's that's where it gets complicated with that you know what I mean so I mean if if you do make the decision you don't want him here I would definitely go to court and get some eviction paperwork and and go that route that's a process I've done that too he's ignoring take my hood off please let's walk to this unit over here okay get all of this okay we're going to do it but the story didn't end with his arrest in fact this is where it really began as another officer arrived on scene he quickly noticed something unusual Edward's left eye was swollen shut sir what did you get up from so you can get my un right here I'm not being am I being detained this okay on me right now no can I have my charges charge me get in the car we go get in the car [Music] he walking away from I'm sorry yeah I'm I am with the cartel Mexican cartel you watch your feet for me huh watch your feet for me so I can close the door no it's okay this is where I'm at at this point the officer probably thought Edward was just a model citizen having a bad day still both the officer and a supervisor determined that his left eye required immediate medical attention so before heading to jail they decided to made a pit stop at the hospital figure out what's going on you can't just walk away from me okay and I give you several chances from here all the way to past those trash cans and you just kept ignoring me question is I didn't hear you if I was being arrested or not sir so Eddie the only thing is is what happened to your eye I was assaulted earlier at alsips and I filed a complaint you kind of know what time it was and I did file a complaint with Mark K probably about earlier in the day maybe yes sir so with Dakota Ginger officer he hit me so who hit you markota marota okay you made police he's my neighbor across the street and you made a police report no sir I didn't make a police report I just did you contact the any anyone I told I told the um people there at Al which Al was it at Eddie uh right here sir just right up here just right the also right here National par yes sir so this happened earlier in the day yes sir at Dakota markot Mark Kota did this to you yes sir because I the only reason I ignored you is because I wanted to go off because I know I didn't commit any crime she said I'm calling the cops you need to go and I said okay I'm going to leave so you live here yes sir I'm there with her miss me and my girlfriend we're having an argument sir and as soon as you said that sir I just walked off and then you I mean you pursued me and I yes sir I was aggravated and you know I already had a bad day I apologize for don't be sorry for that and and I know sir but look my eye says I had a bad day if you want to I'll go with you to all stop so that I can figure out what's going on Eddie this is all you had to tell me was man I got a lawyer call he'll make it all right let's go check my eye out because I'm worried about my eye dog no we're going to go this right here just don't sit down here so I can adjust those cuffs I can't put them in the I can't put them in the front but I'm going to see if I can loosen them up by now the officer's patience was running thin Edward had already asked at least seven times while he was arrested and despite receiving the same answer every single time he just wouldn't let it go all right you have a see for me real quick watch your hands all right [Music] CLE you check your a lot Edward was transported to Eddie County Detention Center and released into their custody he was charged with resisting evading and obstructing an officer and assault on a peace officer however on November 30th 2021 the case was dismissed and Edward was released
