The suspect, Germaine, discarded the firearm and refused to comply with the commands of the officers. Here's his story. [Music] I don't know where no one went that ran. Officer Herrera asked the victims if he could speak with them privately to get their statements while Germaine sat in the back of the cruiser. In the very beginning when he fired the first shot, that's when they that's when I said, "Sier, call the cops." Now, when he fired the first shot, do you know who he fired it at? Jaden. He was probably a couple of inches from Jaden's left side of his head, and he just came so fast straight at Jaden. couple inches from the left side of his head and just started shooting. And And how many times did he shoot? I know he shot once for sure. And then I think he was trying to shoot again, but it was jammed. And what do you mean by he was trying to shoot again? He pled not guilty. and Judge Farmer set his bond to $150,000. On the 25th of January 2023, Thompson was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in jail.
