Hey, come here. Just crossed over brightwood. Stop. Might want to call for ambulance. Coming through the window. Well, he's leaving pretty bad. I don't know. Is he Who is he? I don't know. He said he think he live here. He said he live right here from broken glass. When he start trying to gain entry into one of my room when I came out. So is this some dude trying to break in? Yeah. All right. Where's he at? The window. Hey. All right. Come here. Sergeant's on the side of the house. South side of the house. As you can see, one taser shot wasn't enough to get a Steves into cuffs. Officer Wheezmann chased the suspect and quickly caught up to him. He tased the suspect again and Estavves was placed in handcuffs in the backyard of 410 Brightwood Avenue. Officer Whisman called for a medic because of Staves had multiple lacerations on his right arm. going south. I got him. He's coming back towards forest. Just crossed over Brightwood. Stop. Put your hands behind your back. Roll over. You better do it now. Roll over on your stomach. I'm getting them in custody. Put your hands behind your back. Where are you? Hey, before I rip your arms off and yank them behind your back, put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. Both of them. Why you got to run like that, man? That's stupid. We could have talked and maybe it would have came to this break. No, he's just covered in blood and I don't have any gloves. I ain't doing that. Fine. Let me go check my Are you okay? Yeah, I'm great. Okay. Why are you running for my officer? A little tired, but I'm good. All right. Tas him twice. All right. Well, did the trick. Yeah. As officer Whisman escorted the suspect to the hospital in the ambulance, officers Gundocker and Whites arrived on the scene, they spoke to the victims, Greg Mickey and Chad Offett. Both victims told the same story. They stated that they heard glass shatter and after a short time, they heard doorork knobs shaking as if someone was trying to open the door. The two of them discovered that it was a Steves and that he had broken into their home. At the hospital, they checked out of Steve and took pictures of his injuries. Why are you not taking off? Now you say it when you there I want to use I don't know the one you're going to throw away. Look at that arm. I'll tell you what, if we put them on the cop, handcuff them to the cop, that'd be good. And then I'll I'll work on getting that arm buttoned up. Yeah, that' be good. Cuz if not, why'd you run for my officer, bud? You don't want to answer questions, that's fine. I don't really need an answer. Do they even know this guy? Total stranger? No, they said he was back in the kitchen. You ain't going anywhere, buddy. I promise you that. He was uh in the kitchen. I heard one guy talking to him and he was like, "What are you doing? You can't leave the cops here." And I heard like the glass break again, like he was breaking out a window. And I run back there and he's falling out the window. So, I stick my hand out the window and hit him with the first two. I was close enough to T. I probably should have, but there's like a fence between him and I. Wasn't 100% sure that it was going to work. So, probably would have created even more of an hassle. All right, buddy. Let's get out and get on the C. Okay. No funny business. Yeah, looks like it might not work. That that leaf is covering up a pretty big bump. It's like open on the other side. Is that from the fall? I don't know. I don't know where my All right, we'll wait. Yeah, those are good. Yeah, probably should have harder than I did. You got to slow like a band-aid. Yeah. Yeah. Normally they just pull right out. Where do you want the crew, Josh? You want them up there? Yeah. I mean, if someone can talk, let's stand up. All right. What we really need is somebody to stand up, man. Dude, we're trying to help you and we want to help you. All right. And laying here on this cold ass ground ain't no ain't no good for you. Let's put your pants up. [Applause] There you go. There you go. Over there. That'll walk you. Start walking. Move your feet. You ran just fine a minute ago. hurt your arm. How'd you do that to your arm, buddy? [Applause] All right, you go. Lay back in the seat. You're going to have I just want to give him a chance to run away. If you want to get That's his arm. If you want to get it on there, you can get it. Looks like his name is Anthony Martin. How did you do that to your arm? Is that before you ran from us or was that during your flight, sir? Did you do that when you fell? They said he was he was bleeding pretty bad inside the house when he was still there. So, it was probably when he first went in. Did this officer hurt you in any way aside from tasering you? [Applause] All right, I'll take that as a cross. [Music] Okay. What's the phase for Huh? No idea. [Music] Did the occupants beat him up or anything? So, so he didn't get in the house. Oh, he did. He was in there and uh they must have kept him in there somehow. And then uh as soon as I start walking in, I can hear him saying, "Where are you going?" And he's climbing out the back window. So as soon as I get around there, he's halfway out the window and jumps out. So I just stick my hand out and tase him. And they both hit him, but he must have like went too far and pulled the wires out or whatever. So we ran back and forth and back and forth over here. I mean, for a little while. Terrible terrain to be running around on. Mhm. Hey, put that arm up for me. Get this arm up. You're going to need stitches in that arm. Anthony, what's your search, buddy? figure that out. On the 2nd of January, officers returned to the home and it turns out that a Steves lived there but was evicted 3 weeks before the incident. He was charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor obstruction of official business, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
