On May 14th, 2023, an officer observed an 18-year-old girl failed to conduct a proper stop at a stop sign. The officer finds a little more than she expected. You'll see what I mean. >> Hello. You have your ID on you? >> All right. Reason I stopped you is because you rolled through that stop sign back there. Okay. Do you have any questions for me? >> No, ma'am. >> Okay. Where are you headed to? >> I'm I'm just headed back home. >> Where do you live at? >> In Madison. >> In Madison, Georgia. So, this address isn't updated. >> It's That's my mom's address. My dad's house. >> I got you. >> But also, it's a valid address. >> I got you. Okay. >> For tonight. >> Where are you coming from tonight? >> I'm coming for >> I got you. Okay. Just hang tight for me. Okay. >> Okay. >> Hey, Madison, look in and see if you see anything. I'm getting some weird vibes. I don't know what I'm getting, but I'm getting weird vibes. Go from passenger. Hey there. Hey. Whichever one you want to roll down. This one works, too. I'm officer Cornell with Ascar County PD. I'm just going to talk to you while they're running your name. Where are you coming from? >> My boyfriend's house. >> Boyfriend's. Where's he live at? Okay. >> It's like >> I got you. Where do you live? >> I go between Madison, Georgia, and Carter, Georgia. My dad lives in >> Okay. Is there um is there anything in the vehicle? No marijuana? Nothing like that? >> No. Okay. >> All right. Got you. Where are you headed to now? >> To my dad's house. >> Your dad's house. Is that back in Madison? >> That's in Madison, Georgia. Yes. >> Okay. And you gave her your license and everything? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. All right. Um, she's nervous there. >> So, this is going to be so petty. I'm pretty sure I saw vape in there. She's 18. >> So, get in. Yeah. >> Okay. Well, it also there's the faintest whiff. I asked her directly, is there any marijuana in here? And she was like, no. But >> you think there's a faint smell? >> It's like covered up by perfume. >> Yeah. I'm going to go talk to you about the vape. >> Okay. >> It's Payton, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. Is that a vape that you have over there on the dash? Those vape cartridges. >> These are Valley. >> Let me see. >> My boyfriend. >> Okay. So, >> I got you. I'm not trying to like press anything on you. Okay. >> But that's what that smoke for cuz that there's like just one thing. >> I got you. Okay. So, are there any more cigarettes or anything in here? >> No, but if you would like um take both of these. >> So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to have me step out and I'm going to grab them. Make sure there's no more in here. Okay. >> So, do you have any questions on that? >> No. >> Okay. Like said, I'm not trying to push anything on you, but you are 18 and you'd be 21. Okay. So, you being honest is super beneficial. Is there anything else in the vehicle that might >> No, there's in the vehicle. >> Okay. I'm going to just check your pockets real quick. Okay. You're not in any trouble. So, just you're good. I know you're nervous. I can tell you that you're shaking. >> I'm turn around and check your back. Okay. >> You're good. If you want to hang out with this officer back here and then we're just going to make sure there's no more. Okay. >> You'll wait back there at that at the headlight. Okay. You want to help me? >> Is there any Has there ever been anybody that has smoked in the vehicle? I mean, I've I've literally been arrested for drug charges. I don't smoke at all. >> You don't smoke at all anymore? Okay. >> Those Valley Highs, they are a cigarette. Um, >> so she said that the odor and everything is from the cigarettes, >> but I personally wasn't smoking them. They're not drugs. They sell them at >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and that's not, you know, that's that's a whole different thing. I was just wondering cuz I can't tell if I'm getting like the faintest whiff of pot covered up with a bunch of perfume or if it's just the smell of of whatever like cigarettes you were smoking. You know what I'm saying? >> I don't I don't smoke. >> Look this weed. >> If it is, I don't care if it's if it was. It's all just >> When did you get charged? >> I I was charged a year ago. I think it's >> Yeah, it's weed. Okay. >> But so they smelled they smelled marijuana in the car. >> Yeah, I personally did. >> Was that's why they have a reason to search my car right now? >> Yeah. Yeah. So I personally did. Also the fact that there's >> said that >> she said she ain't got nothing in here, but there's a lot of stuff in here like just debris stuff like bags and stuff we shouldn't have. No, but I would >> Well, so the cigarettes for with you being 18, >> that's a reasonable cost for a search. >> Yes. To make sure that there's no more cigarettes in the vehicle and stuff like that. But even beyond that, I smelled marijuana. I went ahead and told her that I smelled marijuana. Um I couldn't tell if it was like the faintest like whiff of it covered up by perfume or if it was the actual cigarettes. >> I don't even have perfume in my car. Okay. >> Is there anybody that's been like Do you just drive this car? >> No, my sister drives my car as well. And those were definitely freaking hers. >> Yeah, that would have been what I was smelling. >> So, I always do secondary searches on everybody, no matter who you are. Okay. So, if I search behind you to >> Okay, just put in the seat for a second. >> What? >> Hey, what's your name? Uh, Haley, I think >> somebody else's pill bottle. >> But I What's your boyfriend's name? >> His name is Jawan. >> It's who? >> Jawan. >> Jawan. What's your sister's name? >> My sister's name is Parker. >> Who's Jennifer? >> That's a friend from my old job. >> Why do you have her ID? >> It's in my car. >> Yep. >> I didn't know that was >> You got a lot of drug stuff in here for somebody that doesn't know what's going on. But like I was telling him, my sister drives my car. But >> well, if you're going to drive it, you're responsible for what's in it. Okay. >> Got a cut straw right here, too. >> So, good find for that. Cuz people use this to snort stuff. >> Um, let me see. >> Whose bag is this? >> That's my bag. >> It's your bag. Okay. So, what do you use this cut straw for that's in that bag? >> Or this poor bottle with somebody else's name on it. Or this bag with whatever this is. more weed. I'll be honest. We'll see. You can hang up. You're an adult. You can have a conversation. So, talk to me cuz lying is going to make me have a decision that you're not going to like. >> Being honest is going to help me be lenient with you. >> So, this pill bottle? >> Mhm. >> Came from inside that bag. >> Honestly, that bag is >> which you said was yours. >> That bag is mine. I'm being honest about that. That bag is mine and it's trashy. It's cleaning up after myself. >> Who's Nathan? >> But I promise you, right? >> Who's Nathan? >> Nathan? That is um somebody else. >> Does he know you have this pill bottle? So why would you have his pill box without his consent >> for all? >> Is that what it is? Amphetamine. Yeah, this is a felony. Why would you have his to be honest with you? >> I would like honesty. >> His mother. I used to be friends with his mother. >> Okay. >> Um she had it one time. Um, she given it to me because she is not a good person. >> I heard I heard you tell this officer over here that you've been charged with stuff and then you played the game of I don't know why I was charged with drug. >> No, no, no, no. I never said that. I never said I don't know why. >> Maybe I Maybe I misunderstood. >> No, I know exactly why. And that's why I have been trying to be better. >> What is your typical? >> I used to smoke weed. But >> used to you got two nuggets in here. Weed. Biff nugget came directly out of your bag just now. >> When's the last time you smoked? >> Last time I smoked, it's been about two weeks. >> What was the drug charges on your original? >> Um, I was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute because they found a scale somewhere in my park that I didn't know about. >> Okay. >> And they found $1,000 in cash from when I was um serving as a waitress. >> Okay. And it was like the end of the week and they took it all consecrated as drug money and I had um carts. >> Okay. The actual the oil carts. That was a felony. >> Yeah. It was multi. >> Yeah. >> Having since I don't right around this grinder. >> Have you been to court on all of those charges yet? >> It's coming up less than two months. >> Okay. I was wondering how that played out. Um >> been less than two months. >> I'm going to be straight with you. Okay. school. >> I know you said you're trying to do better. Last time you smoked was 2 weeks ago. If you're trying to do better and you want to go away from that life and you're trying to not be in this situation over and over again, definitely want to make sure that a you know who's in your vehicle and what they're bringing into your vehicle that you don't have stuff like this in your bag and keep your car clean of all of this stuff, right? This grinder is gonna this is going to be death of me in whatever situation this is ran and that is not my >> the pill bottle that is that is my fault and I should have been clean that out from months ago. >> Okay. >> What was the straw being used for? >> I don't I don't >> cuz so these which I'm seeing it's not melted. I don't. Yeah, >> but the thing is is people usually use these to cut up pills and make them into powder and snort them or whatever it is. Um that's the reason why people cut straws. Um when they're burnt, it's usually like stuff like that, smoking [ __ ] like that. But with it not being burnt, I'm guessing did you ever, correct me if I'm wrong, did you ever like crush a pill up and snort it with the straw? I used to be off pills way before I got locked up for for a time and and they caused me to be in such a terrible place there. >> What pills were you on? >> I was um taking her. >> Sorry. >> Just because I was in like just a really depressed state and and be a downer and >> Okay. >> And yeah. Is there before they >> tattoos? >> I drone. You do tattoos? >> I'm learning to drone. >> I was a tattoo artist for about 3 years before I started this job. >> Good. Fine. Put that on top of my head. >> You ever thought of an apprenticeship? That's what I want to do. But I I was um for a while I was trying to save up so I could get a lawyer because my public premium is terrible. >> Okay. >> And I quit um I basically dropped out of high school and then I started it um I fell again about February. I've been trying to finish it for May 22nd, which I finished most. I just have one class of British literature that I'm going to get to finish. >> Okay. So, you know, that's good. Like I said before, if that's the route that you're trying to go and you want to turn that [ __ ] around and not keep doing this stuff anymore, then >> that's all I've been >> keeping track of stuff that's in the car. That's a really big deal, right? >> That's a that is and I do a lot of stuff. Well, not do a lot of stuff for other people, but I like try and help out with other people. Like if somebody needs a ride from work, I try and like just be helpful like that athlete comes around for me. But >> I learned that helping other people and take care of other people me in the [ __ ] ass. >> [ __ ] I'm asking you what it is. >> That's a fake hand and a fake limb. And it was in the driver door. So what is it? >> How was something? >> I need straight answers. Not vague. >> Like what's in it? Yeah, >> there shouldn't be anything. >> What was in it? What drug? >> There was >> It's white white powder's flying out of it. Be careful, Madison. >> The bag. We may get a lot of white powder. >> There's white powder in the bag. >> Stop asking me questions as an answer to my question. What did you have in that can? Why do you have a can that's like that? >> The only thing outside of my can >> and I got it from somebody. >> It looks like there's a lot of >> I got it from somebody >> for the purpose of what >> they had knew I got locked up and they were like just in case you were ever like >> I was [ __ ] with the wrong people. Okay. >> It's not. So don't listen to people like that because we are very well well aware of these cans and how they come out. and how you can go and I could buy one right now at Cloud9 Vapes, the fake cans. And usually when we search cars, we check cans for that specific reason. So that's not very smart people that you're listening to. Um, is there anything in the bag that you know of? >> Okay. Okay. She's So she's >> not ever put anything in there was weed. >> Weed. Okay. Well, so it it could have just been an old bag. She's going to open it up now that she's got it back there. Um, I'm we're just trying to figure it out because that keeps us from having to expose ourselves to things that could be like and coke and stuff like that. You understand? I've >> lost too many people to that [ __ ] I don't >> Oh, that's good. You shouldn't cuz I mean we're having at least one or two overdoses every day over here. So, you shouldn't be messing with it. [ __ ] will kill you in a heartbeat. I hope you never do mess with it. My brother's an addict. >> Oh yeah, >> that look blue. >> Yeah. >> Well, what do you know? So, let me let me show you something inside that bag that was inside that can. I tested it. Do you see that blue tint in the corner right here? >> Yep. >> It's like a light blue tint. It only turns blue when there's positive reminiscent of. So that's what was in this bag that was inside that can. So you want to hang hang out Madison? Let me and Bobby talk. >> Yeah. >> Hey Madison, we also throw those cigarettes on top. >> Yes. >> And that. >> What school are you in right now? >> It doesn't matter. Probably not going to finish it. >> Why do you think that? >> Just another thing. I'm going to have to work even [ __ ] home school. All right, Payton, go and stand up for me. Do you have anything in your bra? >> Okay, >> put your hands together like they're praying. Just like that. There you go. >> Okay. So, right now you are being placed under arrest. Okay. So, inside that straw that was inside your bag had inside of it. All right. that was in the bag that was in the Sprite can was right beside you in the door frame. So, if you want to do better for yourself and stop doing drugs, actually stopping is going to be the best option. Okay? So, you're not being charged with cocaine, but we're being charged with possession of the drug rellated object. Okay? We'll walk back here to the back of my car. You have any questions for me? Hey, is it all right if we park your car in this parking lot so we don't have to tow it? Okay. >> Said yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You feel comfortable driving a car? We'll see how clean it is. And if it's dirty, then I'm not It's relatively clean. So yeah. Oh, look at how her seat belt was. >> Let me just park right over there. >> Silly girl. Um, yeah, just into whatever park you want spot. Walk over there. It says 1736. Always check behind them. Make sure they didn't drop anything property or stuff. >> Right. >> The suspect was booked for possession of drugrelated objects, unlawful possession of another's ID, and failure to stop for a stop sign. In court, the charge for unlawful possession of another's ID was dismissed through null proka. The remaining two charges resulted in a guilty plea. On September 20th, 2023, the defendant was sentenced to 12 months of probation for each
