hey guys we didn't have a talk
we need to talk about
what this channel actually is
what its purpose is and
what it is not
i set out to create this channel
i wanted to show people what police
officers are really like
99 of time that they're doing their job
there's a lot of other police channels
out there
there's a lot of police content out
there there's a lot of police tv shows
and everything that's out there
and it's creating this uh
this idea
of what police are and it's given people
this concept of what it is that police
do for a living you know these videos
often show police
doing uh traffic stops
um interacting with people there's a lot
of videos out there of uses of force
of shootings and stuff like that and i
do have some of that stuff on the
channel that's not what the majority of
the things on my channel are
the majority of things on this channel
are
what cops do the majority of the time
just responding to dispatch runs
um
with that
the majority of the time when
people are interacting with the police
it's not it's not a good day for them
it's not
it's i'm not going to say it's always
the worst day of their life but quite
often
the only time somebody has to interact
with the police it is the worst day of
their life
now
there's been a lot of debate in our
society
about
what police should be doing what police
should not be doing
um how police should be handling
situations this set and the other thing
and i i think that debate is
healthy
and justified
the problem is a lot of people are
bringing information that's not accurate
into that debate
they have a lot of these ideas
about how police officers are acting
when they're
interacting with the public
so that's the reason that
i show the videos that i do
and i've seen a lot of stuff in the
comments lately about how
you know i'm exploiting these poor
families this that and the other trying
to get attention and fame for myself
which is not what i'm doing um
this channel is not about myself in any
way shape or form
what i'm trying to show
is the reality on the ground of what
these officers are dealing with in these
areas that are extremely hard hit by
drugs prostitution poverty violence and
and the like because the majority of the
voting public
has no idea what's happening in these
neighborhoods
and the problem is the majority of the
voting public
since they don't know what's going on
these neighborhoods they're making
decisions with their votes they're
having a negative impact
on the people who need the police the
most
i think it's important
that we show
these interactions between these folks
and the police
and we show how the police actually
interact with this people
to educate the public so that they don't
completely
our police force and in turn
devastate these communities that need
the police the most

with that being said
and i've already mentioned that a lot of
times people
are having their worst day when they
interact with the police or
these are situations that are often
incredibly embarrassing for the
individual who's on the other side of
the body camera and they don't want that
information to be out in the public
i
understand
and i can sympathize
with that perspective
the problem is these things still need
to be seen by the overall public
people who are overdosing on heroin
and our moments from death
that stuff needs to be seen by the
public
people who are
having mental breakdowns
and the only people who
can help calm that person down or subdue
that person
that information needs to be seen by the
public
the public needs to see
that de-escalation doesn't always mean
you show up with unicorns and rainbows
and everything's magically better
sometimes de-escalation means that you
have to grab onto someone and put them
in handcuffs and sit them down
these are things that the general public
doesn't understand
and that they need to see
one of the things that i find really
interesting when i read through the
comments of these videos
is you know there is this narrative
especially in mid 2020 and then
throughout the rest of the year
where people said that officers were
just showing up on scenes and just
beating people for no reason
and there was all these people trying to
cite statistics saying how often police
use force and trying to make it sound
like police use force way more than they
should and all this other stuff
well i
show you know i've shown hundreds
of interactions between the police and
people with mental disorders and people
who are
high
on
all kinds of different narcotics
hallucinating seeing things
different states of excited delirium or
whatever it is that you want to call it
and
very rarely in those videos is there any
kind of use of force
the funny thing about the comments is i
still see people that want to find
something to complain about and like
well that officer's tone was rude
well i'm sorry
but
what these officers are being accused of
and have been accused of
by
an overwhelmingly ignorant public for a
very long period of time is using
excessive force all the time
so
when people are seeing these situations
they find that they're not using
excessive force they still want to find
something to complain about
which is just
kind of it is what it is i mean you're
not going ever always make everybody
happy
but i think that if we have a police
force where
the worst thing that they do is that
occasionally they might use the wrong
tone with somebody
i think we have a pretty damn good
police force
um
i want to circle back on one point that
i've been wanting to address
but i just i don't know quite how to fit
it in
is the fact that uh
you know if you're in one of these
videos or your family members or
whatever on one of these videos i
mentioned i
i understand that it's not something
that you're excited about
but
the fact of the matter is that it
happened
this is reality
we can't deny the reality of what's
going on in our world
and people need to see those videos
so my stance on it is that
those videos are not going to be taken
down simply because somebody is upset
about what's on video
one of the things that's often thrown at
me is how would you feel if that was
your family member
or what if it was me
if it was me i'd be embarrassed
but i would also
own my mistake
and i'd move on from there
there's one of my family members
a lot of people don't know this but
i do have some family members that have
done some of those things
during my lifetime i have some family
members who are no longer alive
because of the things that they did
during my lifetime
if one of those family members
including my own father
was
caught on body camera doing some of the
things that these folks have done
um
and it was brought to my attention
i would probably say well
it is what it is
it's my father and that's what he did
i don't know what else to say other than
the fact that i'm being 100 honest with
you
and at this channel
it's not about me
it's not about any one individual
this channel exists to show people
especially in this community
what the police are really like
because there's a lot of people saying
things that are simply not true
and i want the voting population to have
the best information possible
when they're making decisions the ballot
box
that are going to affect the police
department
and the people that those police
officers serve
because in the end that is the only
thing that matters to me
so thank you for
