Am I under arrest? Can I call my attorney? You're under arrest. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> WHY am I under arrest for? I can get my phone right now. >> If you don't get in I'm going to pull you in. >> Get my phone. Get my phone. Get my phone. >> Refusing to leave when police tell you to rarely ends well, >> [music] >> and these moments prove exactly that. Things fall apart fast when these squatters try to outsmart officers and don't see what's coming. Teenager gets caught squatting in an apartment complex. On February 27th, 2026, officers responded to an apartment complex after receiving a call about a woman who had allegedly returned to the property despite prior warnings. Here's what happened when they arrived to remove her from the complex. >> Hey, show me your hands. What's your name? What's your name? Turn your hands behind your back. You've been trespassed from here. >> Okay. My wrist it hurt. My other wrist hurts, please. >> I got you. >> Thank you. >> Let's go. >> But I got to just walk downstairs. >> Officers learned that this is not the first time the teenager has come back to the complex, [music] and she admits she has nowhere else to go. While the officers appear sympathetic to her situation, they also know she cannot legally remain on [music] the property. >> 13 seconds. >> I'm right. >> [snorts] >> All right. >> You got to push me? >> I'm not even pushing you. >> You lied. When you come home >> I'm kind of not. >> When you come home >> That's fine. >> [snorts] >> Where are you? >> I'm not even I'm guiding you, and you're not listening. >> No, am I not listening to you? >> No. 1347 Outside. >> Am I not listening to you? >> You're not listening. Great, thanks. >> So, why would you say that I wasn't? >> Just walk. >> Okay. >> We're going to the car with the lights on. >> Okay. And where am I being placed under arrest? >> You're being arrested for criminal trespass. >> When they let me in when they let me inside the building? >> Said he's already trespassed you once today. >> No, okay. Okay. I'm not even going to argue. Okay. You let me inside the building. Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. >> If I go to jail, do you know how long I'll be in there for? >> Probably not very long. It's criminal trespass. They don't >> Okay. >> Thankfully, the woman cooperates with the police, making the search far easier for everyone involved. >> Do you know if there was a bathroom I could call? >> Do you have numbers on you? >> Yes, do you? Well, not on me. No, not on me, but you can check me. You can go ahead. >> No, I'm going to search you before you >> Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Put your arms out. >> I'm sorry. Where do you usually stay? I stay off And those are quarters and dimes. >> Yeah. >> Um I fell >> Do you have any pockets on these leggings? >> No, sir. No, no, sir. My bad. I fell off the university. Um I did live there. But they'll be out there. >> So, do you live in a house or apartment? >> My mom's crib. That's it. >> And why are you there? >> Um because I was supposed to be That's why I came out here because I was supposed to be meeting somebody, but they locked the door up on me and now they're they're saying that I'm trespassing. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm going to just go back home or take y'all or I'mma to wherever y'all take me >> Okay. and I'mma just >> Just sit down for a minute. >> I'mma just I got y'all. I got y'all. Ooh, I'm so Ooh, that's hard. >> Yep. >> Go ahead. You called it. >> What's that? No, I know. I'm going to see and see if I can just send her home. >> Yeah, see what you do. >> After securing the woman in the vehicle, the officer checks back in with the other officers regarding the manager's decision on prosecution. Is he wanting to press charges? >> Got it all. >> Yep. I'm going to read you something real quick and then we'll talk some more, all right? It's just It's just a Miranda so I can ask you some questions about what happened. Yeah, I mean yeah, you're already under arrest. No, but if you want if you want to have a conversation with me about it, I got to read you this, right? All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand each of these rights as I have explained them to you? Thank you. >> With her rights now explained to her, officers [music] begin asking if she's prepared to answer questions. >> With these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? So, you don't want you don't want to have a conversation? It's It'd just to this. >> Well, the only thing that I would have to say is that the person >> Are you Are you willing to talk Do you want to have a conversation? Yes or no? I need the answer. >> Okay. >> Yes. Uh the people who let me outside of the building are people that were living inside of the building and then they did no longer want me inside of the building, but I did not have no other way to exit or >> Okay, so let me let me ask you this. Okay. Did the security guard tell you to leave the building earlier today? >> No. >> Did the people in that res- residence apartment tell you to leave? >> Nope. Listen to me. >> Okay, what happened? >> When I first come up in here and the people um that told me to get out told me to get out I uh >> Who told you to Who told you to get out? >> Um Do you want their names or >> Well, who are they here? What like what Are they security? Are they residents? >> Um name Cornisha and Teresa. >> Okay, do they live here? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yes, sir. Um they told me to come in and I was I was allowed to come and stay with them and then um I don't know what changed, but seems like I got to the door the security was there and he was asking me for you know, like all types of stuff. And I was telling them I only know one person who stay here and she's not in her phone. Plus my phone is about to die, but what you did >> Okay. >> So I waited about 30 minutes for my ride to come. He's sitting there waiting patiently patiently for my ride to come with me. He's being understandable, but then time goes by my ride is not coming to the room. >> According to the woman, two people living in the building told her she could stay. However, that's not what management told the officers. >> So now it's looking like I'm trespassing. Now it's looking just bad on my end. >> Right. >> It's just looking bad as I am. So I don't have I don't I don't I don't have any time to [ __ ] it was looking bad as I am. >> Moving out of this out of here right >> If I didn't do anything wrong, I would go to the county for this. >> All right. >> Because >> Don't listen to what I say. That's my problem. >> He let me stay here and now I'm trespassing. There is I would never stay nowhere else ever. >> So did the security guard at any point ever tell you to leave? >> No. No. No. He just didn't say anything and he let me in. He said >> For the security guard? >> He let me in. He let me in to sleep on the stairs. He let me in. >> Okay. >> He let >> It's going to be Tom, T >> The whole reason why I didn't go because the people that the people that let me in that I was supposed to be saying >> Yeah, T is his middle initial. >> Okay. >> 1 >> They're listening to you. >> 599 >> You don't have no parents. So this is his new apartment, okay? So I want to make sure he's listening. I'm asking you so I don't know how to put it. >> So you were saying that he let you in and said and let you sleep in the stairwell. >> car is right there up ahead in front of you. It is probably not necessary, but that is the car that I was let out of and she is inside and said that I was trespassing. That's why it's so weird. >> The woman doubles down on her claim that she was allowed to sleep inside the stairwell, but her explanation [music] quickly becomes harder for the officer to follow. >> I will give you the last place that I Like right ahead. But if it's not necessary, I don't need it and I will go to I will go to the county and I will deal with my consequences and I will do all that stuff and I will whenever the time comes that I'm going to be like I I was going to be like out, but I don't really I said Oh, that's what Okay, I've just been It was probably past a certain point of time amount of time for me to be in the building. >> Ma'am, that's that's where criminal trespass is. >> Exactly, but nobody said he let me in the All right, okay. Yes, sir. >> All right. >> Yes, sir. >> A female officer soon arrives to conduct a pat-down before the woman is transported to the station. >> She's an [ __ ] >> What? >> Just stand. >> Well, she just wants to shut up. That's all. So. >> I have a choice. >> Ready? >> I'll call for a court. We'll make a >> Ma'am, step out. >> What makes you want to choose a police report, sir? >> Uh the money, the benefits, I don't know. >> Really? Cuz you look really young and you said about you said you was younger than 24. So what made you just What made you just want to be a police officer? I'm sorry. >> it's my dream job. >> it's going to be I know I know I know I know. >> Stop moving. >> I'm sorry. What made you What What What happened? >> Hm? >> What happened? >> What do you mean? >> This is what you dreamed with all your life? >> Yeah, I mean yeah. I was dressing up as a cop when I was >> This is what you wanted to be? >> 3 years old for Halloween, yeah. >> No. >> It's pretty freaking cool. >> Even as the 24-year-old cop? >> Yep. >> Dressing up? I know there's a police report. I'm sorry individual. >> I'm being charged with criminal activity in front of my mom and I'm being charged right now. now. All right, I know they already patted you down, but I got to do it to you, okay? You got anything illegal? >> Go ahead. >> Go ahead. >> You can search. Yeah, they got everything that I had confiscated confiscated, right? >> All right, so. Okay. Okay, you're good to go. >> Oh, sweet. Thank you. >> Yep. >> The night concludes with a woman being taken into custody [music] and charged with criminal trespass. Living next to this guy quickly became a problem. This next case begins after a woman called the police claiming her neighbor had been entering and lingering inside her apartment. Watch how officers investigate the situation. >> Yes. >> What's up, Mark? I'm Lauren. >> Yeah. >> Let me just come talk to me, bro. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on right now. >> Okay. I just got back from >> Yeah. >> I was with my neighbor. >> I am Lauren 410. >> All right, dude. So, we pretty much got the call okay, saying Who's Who's the neighbor that lives right there? I'm talking to >> I Her name is Yes. >> Okay. All right, so she gave us a call and she's saying that you were in her apartment. >> No, sir. I was I literally just got back from >> I I don't know. >> I understand. >> All right, you know what I mean? This is my first time meeting you. It's your first time meeting me. We're just saying that we got that call that you were in apartment or disconnected the phone line or anything like that. You ever had any issues >> No, never. >> Have you ever been inside her apartment? >> Never, sir. >> No? Okay. >> No. >> Okay. >> I literally just got back from picking up our neighbor >> That's what your folks are saying. That's what your folks are saying. Yeah, that's what your folks are saying. We're just like I said, dude, we got a call. >> I understand. >> We got to come check out, make sure everything's okay. >> Yeah, no. I literally just pulled in from taking our neighbors to picking her daughter up from the school here and pulling in. >> Okay. All right, you been drinking at all today? >> No, sir. >> No? No weapons on you or anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. All right, perfect. >> Just walked in. >> Were you in Sigma Nu before? >> No, this is actually I >> Oh, okay. >> I'm Sigma Chi. >> Okay. That means the world, you know what I mean? You just We just got to check some stuff out, you know what I mean? Cool. Are you sure you weren't in that apartment, dude? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, she's not going to show me a screenshot of you in that apartment. >> Right. >> She's not. >> No. >> Okay. All right. All right, very good. What she say? This isn't you in her apartment. No, sir. Who is that then, dude? >> I don't know. >> The suspect [music] sticks to his story and claims he's never been inside his neighbor's home, but officers already have evidence that could prove otherwise. Now they give him another chance to tell the truth. What are we doing now? >> Nothing. >> Now now now you're just lying to me, dude. Right? >> Yes, sir. She wants to sign a complaint. >> One more chance. >> Yes, sir. >> Were you in that apartment? >> Yes, sir. >> You were in that apartment? >> Okay. Okay. Thank you, Mark. All right, let's let's All right, let's work, dude. All right, now we can talk. >> I just Well, no, I the door was open, honestly, so I was checking and making sure that they were okay because sometimes their older son is here and stuff like that. It's all like that. >> Okay. >> And just make sure because their son sometimes stays home from school. Their door was was open, so >> You I you freaked out, dude? Okay. >> Well, because I wasn't sure because like I said, it was the door was open, I swear to God. >> Okay. >> And I just wanted to make sure that there was nobody there and stuff like that inside their their apartment and stuff like that. >> Okay. >> I didn't do anything wrong in their apartment. I just all I did was do a quick look around and I left, sir. >> All right. >> I didn't touch anything. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Don't make yourself I mean, Mark, you >> I I just All I did like I said, sir, all I did was >> Okay. >> I I I I'm sorry. >> I hear you. Okay. It makes it a lot easier to work with you when you're telling us the truth, okay? >> Like I said, the door was open. I just wanted to make sure that there was nobody in their apartment and stuff. I didn't >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. >> Is this something you have an agreement >> No, no, no. I just I just said the door This seriously, the door is open. As you can tell, the door is actually We walked in the apartment. >> Okay. >> You thought you know, so I just wanted to make sure that everything was okay. Her son does Her older son does stay home here. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay and stuff, sir. >> Yeah, slow down, dude. >> Okay. All right. >> Have a seat here. >> Yes, sir. >> On the curb. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. How many times have you gone into that apartment, dude? >> This is the first time, sir. >> First time? >> Like I said, the door is open, which made me skeptic. >> Right. >> Cuz her son does stay home here a lot by himself and stuff like that. So, I just wanted to make sure that, you know, everything was There was no Nobody else in the apartment and stuff like that, sir. >> All right. And she's telling us that you didn't have permission to go in there, right? >> No, but like I said, the door >> was open. >> Like And I just So, I wanted to make sure that there was nothing harmful with his with her older son. >> All right. >> Cuz the older son does stay home quite often and stuff like that. >> Okay. >> I hear you, dude. I hear you. >> Officers are caught off guard by how familiar the suspect appears to be with the family [music] inside the apartment, and his reasoning only becomes harder to follow the longer he speaks. >> Yeah, he's fine. He's fine. >> I I can't tell you anything. If he wants to tell you that, that's up to him, but he's not he's not going to jail. >> No. >> Yeah, yeah, in just a second, boss. I appreciate it. He's not going to jail or anything right now, okay? He's going to be issued a citation for trespassing. >> I'm missing I'm missing the the the start of this. So, the door is open to apartment >> cracked open and the son stays home a lot, the older son. >> Okay. >> I think he's 12 or 13. I saw this door cracked open, so I just peeked my head in there to to look and to make sure that everything was okay, because I didn't want the the kids to be harmed. And I and I left. >> Do you have any reason to believe that they were harmed or that they would be harmed? >> No, but we've had a We have some Section 8 black people over here that have been broken in actually to our place, and they walk around a lot. So, I just want to make sure that nothing was harmed to the kid. >> Yeah, no, but I mean that doesn't give >> a green light to start going in any any >> No, like I said, I all I did was just, you know, peeked in and stuff like that and and went and went back out, sir. >> All right. You didn't just peek in, did you? Come on. Why why are we lying? >> what do you want to say? I went I went in I went in there to make sure that if the kid was there and and stuff like that, you know, make sure if cuz he he plays video games in his room and stuff like that, sir. >> Okay. >> No, no, you guys call 911, right? >> Okay. >> That's what we do. If we're concerned about somebody inside or concerned about a 12 or 13-year-old, >> you call the police and the police come and assess it. >> Um cuz just judging by this call, didn't sound like she was all too thrilled that you were in her apartment. >> No, I understand, sir. >> Okay. I get it if we're all friendly, we're on the same page, we're we got a agreement between neighbors, >> yeah, that's that's that's a one story, but another story is that if we don't have that understanding, right? >> Yes, sir. >> You were just in there to check on these kids for some reason? >> sir. >> Does that sound strange to you? >> What do you mean? >> You have no agreement with her before, you haven't done this >> No, like I said, the >> And you've been in here before, correct? >> No. >> That's a lie, too. >> What do you mean? >> Cuz you've been in her apartment before. We have you on video. >> Okay. >> According to the officer, the suspect's story still isn't adding up and his patience is starting to wear thin. >> Okay. >> Okay. I I I >> Don't call me a liar. You're on video. >> I'm I'm sorry, sir. >> You were lying to us before. We showed you a picture of yourself and you played the Shaggy defense of, "Oh, that's not me." 100% busy. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I'm not >> I understand, sir. >> So, you need to stop. >> Okay, sir. >> If you if we find out you took anything, you're going to get charged with the burglary. >> I did not, sir. >> All right. >> I did not. >> We'll hear what she has to say for us. >> Okay. >> Are you guys on a good terms, speaking relation to you guys are on good terms? >> We say hi. >> I'll grab you. >> Okay. >> And >> So, >> have you ever been invited to that apartment before? >> Yes. >> Okay. By her? >> Yes. >> All right. How long ago was that? >> Uh I would not know. >> I'll talk to you in a second but Hey sir, can you go inside for a moment? You're just keep interrupting me and you're not involved in this. Can you go talk to the officer? >> Well, the upstairs neighbor had a a leak and she asked me to come into her apartment to see what the leak was and stuff like that and see if they can get a hold of the upstairs neighbor cuz it was coming into their apartment. >> Eight months ago you knocked on her door. >> No, no, no. She was out here and she knocked on my door and asked me if I can get a hold of the upstairs neighbor cuz there was seem it was leaking into their apartment. >> And then at what point did you go inside her apartment? >> When she invited me to look at the damage that was causing >> And that was eight months ago. Have you gone in her apartment since? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Has she invited you back since? >> No, sir. >> She's willing to Do you have the authority to go inside her apartment? >> No, sir. >> And today you are saying that there is an open front door. >> Yes, sir. >> Um, and how open was it? >> Uh, it was cracked. >> Okay, by a couple inches? >> Yes, sir. >> Have you been drinking? >> Yes, sir. >> As officers press him about his reasons [music] for going inside the home, the suspect gives another statement that immediately raises [music] red flags. So, cracked a couple inches. Um, and uh, you decided that when you hear anything inside? >> No, that's why I went in there and the check to see if the kid was okay. >> But you don't hear any anything anything distressing inside. >> No, sir. >> You don't hear anybody calling for help. You don't hear a boy or a young child calling for help. >> No, cuz normally he's got his headphones on and he plays video games on his computer. >> But at this point you just see that the door is just cracked open by about an inch. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Um, do you try calling out inside the apartment before you go in? >> No, sir. >> So, you didn't knock and say, "Hello, is everybody okay?" You just walked >> not. >> And did you get a response? >> No, sir. But I know like I said, normally he's got his headset on. >> What is his name? Do you know his last name? >> I do not, sir. >> What? I'm just asking cuz you're very concerned about him, so I would anticipate you would at least know his first name. 100%? >> Uh, >> Uh I believe so, yes, sir. >> Do you know what school he goes to? >> I cannot say. >> Okay. Um does he go to school? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. How old did you You said 12, 13? >> Yes, sir. >> Um is he in middle school? >> Yes, sir. >> You know you don't know what middle school it is? >> I cannot say, okay. >> Um Does he take a bus? >> Uh yes, he does. He got dropped right over here. >> Okay. What time does the bus come back? >> I don't I I'm not sure. >> Okay. You see him going with this? School's not even out. We're talking about 1:30 and school's out. >> I know, but normally sometimes he he does stay home and then his father picks him up and stuff like that or >> No, yeah, but it's a normal school day. >> I understand. >> So >> So sometimes he does stay stay home. So like I said, I was just concerned for their safety. That's all he did. That's all I >> I I I understand and I'm trying to just get to the to the to the indication of why you were concerned for his safety. What led you to think >> We've got some Section 8 people over here and they've broken into my mom's apartment here with array and stuff like that. They've broken into our uh bike room and stuff and they've stolen bikes. They've sat there and they've peed in they've peed in the back room and stuff like that. Um like I said, they almost broke into my mom's place while she was home while I was at work. >> According to the suspect, concerns about nearby break-ins led him to check on the children inside the apartment. But at this point, officers are struggling to believe his explanation. >> And this is all documented through police department? >> Uh my mom didn't uh fill out a police report, no, she did not. >> Okay. What about the garage? >> We have with the security association, actually. >> Was there a police report on that? So we don't have any documented on that. >> No, just just with the association. Just with our association. >> How long ago was that? >> Uh about a year ago, sir. >> Okay. Picked them wanting to sign complaints. >> Yeah. >> Um did she have the the live video? Oh, you know what? That brings up my next question. Did you disconnect the camera? >> I did not say. >> No, she said that she got it back. Might have been a glitch. >> A glitch on the cuz she >> was able to watch us walking around there. Okay. So, she sent a video >> She sent the screenshot him in the front. >> Okay. >> And wearing the same exact clothes. It's got the timestamp. >> And at at no point is um She She watched them live and she wasn't able to see that he's like took anything, right? >> No, she saw him like walk around a little bit and then then she calls us. >> So, initially I told you it was a citation on the wrong. Normally trespassing is but since it's a house they upgraded it for a residence. So, that's why you're going on. >> Okay. >> We're going to go back to the station and process you. >> Okay. >> You'll get some paperwork with the court date and then you can call somebody. >> In the end, the man was booked and charged with criminal trespass. Woman had every chance to leave. Instead, she made things worse. On March 7th, 2025, officers responded [music] to a residence after a man reported that a woman he had invited over for the night was now refusing to leave his apartment. Here's what officers walked into [music] when they arrived. >> I talked to you down here, ma'am, and then you talked to the officer. Officers, we got to separate you guys. >> All right, I'll talk I'll talk Hey, sir, could you come down here and talk to me? Could you come down here and talk to me, sir? >> Yeah. >> So, what's going on? Let's turn the lights on. What's going on? >> So, I've been here for a week. >> Mhm. >> I I have I have a video. >> Video of what? What's going What's going on? >> I got asked her to peacefully leave. So I am She's stealing her drink. That's She's got two sips in her hand. >> It smells like you've been drinking a little bit, too, everybody, today. >> Yeah, I'm I'm good. I I'm I'm not drunk. >> But what happened today? >> I called because I peacefully asked her to leave several times, which I have. >> Does she reside here? >> No. No. >> Does she have any belongings in here? Stop whatever it is that you're showing me and explaining to me what happened. Just Let's go down here. I can't even hear you cuz she's screaming. So >> She doesn't reside here. >> Mhm. >> She's a friend from like I run a pseudo snake club >> Mhm. >> She's a a regular customer, right? >> Mhm. >> We've hung out a few times before. She came over tonight. I didn't I actually gave her the code to get in. >> Mhm. >> And then when I woke up she was sleeping. She wouldn't leave so now I can't leave cuz she's done [ __ ] I'm up in the air. >> Mhm. >> She's down here. >> The caller explains that Wally did [music] invite the woman over. He never intended for her to stay long-term and at some point during the argument over her leaving, things allegedly turned physical. >> Who are you? >> Mhm. >> I'm like, "Sorry, I'm not >> So you just want her to leave? >> That's it. >> So you just guys just had a verbal argument and >> That's it. >> I have >> every I portrayed like if you would just leave you can leave. Like I told her to leave. >> But I don't [clears throat] I don't need to see that if >> I'm just I'm just asking her to leave like a million times. >> Do you have any physical injuries on you? >> No, she >> Okay. >> No, there's no there's no like >> Gotcha. How long has she been here? Just for the night? >> She was here for the I don't know. Fine. Two days. Call the cops. >> So give me one second. Just could you wait down there for me? Just wait down here. Hey, so pretty much she's been here for a couple hours. He just wants her to leave. That's it. It's just a 41. >> Do you have anything in there? >> No, nothing. She's literally been here for 2 hours after I guess they were at a nightclub. Where's her bag at? I mean, are you able to? >> No, I I mean >> Hey, where's her bag? All right, we're not doing this game at all. Hey, hey. Where's her bag at, dude? So listen, we're trying to get her to leave. We're just just get her stuff so she can go. Is there He's Is there a bag in here? >> Not that I know. >> No, he said no. All right. All right, just wait down here. >> The officers managed to get the woman outside and at this point all she has to do is [music] leave. However, watch what she decides to do next. >> All right, ma'am. Let's go. There's no bag in there. What are you talking about? Hey man, listen. I've been really reasonable and been nice to you and I'm trying to You're over talking me, but you've been drinking. So Listen, let's go. We don't got time for this. Seriously, let's go. Well, it's not there. So So now what? All right, let's go. Come on. LET'S GO. GET UP. I'M GOING TO ASK YOU ONE MORE TIME and then I'm just going to take you in THE CAR. >> WHERE'S MY BAG? GO GET MY BAG. WHERE'S MY BAG AT? WHERE IS IT? WHAT YOU GOING TO DO? >> YES, MA'AM. >> For what? For what? >> Yes, ma'am. >> For what?
