Oh, blue. >> Stop. Stop now. Put your hands behind your back. Do what? >> Get over here. Hang on to her. >> Oh, there's another one. >> Yep. Put your hands behind your back. >> Take the backpack off. >> Don't turn around on me. >> What are you doing? >> Being stupid. >> You know what? If you guys make yourself a wet >> and now you guys have >> I love you, babe. >> Bag. >> I got it. Where's the other one? >> What did you jump in here? >> I ain't throwing nothing in there. Just my hat and my sunglasses. >> Grab his ID in the middle there. Be good on you. Oh, switch plate. That's good. >> Hold on. >> 16. You told that lot. >> It says 22. I got this. I love you, dog. Can I kiss my girlfriend real quick? >> No. You're walking back to the store. Both suspects are now in handcuffs and officers [music] prepare to escort them back to the store to continue the investigation. >> Do you have an ID on? >> It's probably >> It's in the car. Back in the car. >> Back up a second. We're in the car. >> Back in the store. >> Yep. Back in the store. >> Hey, turn off my truck. >> I love you, babe. >> Wait. I have Who? >> Oh, my boyfriend. >> I have no idea. >> Does it look like this? >> Yeah. No, >> he doesn't have it. >> Okay. >> You going to walk her back or are you driving her back? What are you doing? >> I'll drive her back. I'll do your favorite park this car here. What's that? Not and and give me that. I'll take that in there. >> Fair. I'll call or you can have this. I'll call these in >> and then move. >> Yeah. >> Take this one out. >> Okay. Two as well. Take a seat on. >> That's all. >> Yeah, you caught it. Hey, >> that's hilarious. I love it. [groaning] >> Michael. >> What are we doing here? >> I got a better idea. Watch this. >> Keys in here. >> Okay. Yep. I'll put her back in my car. We'll stick her back there. And you have her ID, right? >> I got them all. >> All right. >> You should have seen me inside the thing. >> They started running. I'm like, "Yeah, >> I knew you like one of those." >> Either way, they're outside. >> What' you say? >> Have you been in this store before? >> Yeah. >> Yes. I told you. >> You've been arrested for retail theft? >> No. While the male suspect is brought back inside the store, another officer escorts the woman [music] to the loss prevention office for questioning. >> You ever been arrested before for retail theft? >> No. >> No. Are you sure? >> Yeah. >> All right. Because they're going to run you anyway. Are you over 18? >> Yeah. >> All right. All right. So, you stand here for one sec. >> Take a seat. >> Yeah. Two separate if you would. And a cowboy has both IDs. >> She says she's been arrested, but never for retail. We'll find out. >> Bush. Bush. There he is. >> Hello. Did >> you call in? >> I did. I called in both of the files. >> Huh? >> Did you run CQ? >> No, forgot to do that. Damn. >> Yeah, I did. >> So, what did I got? >> No, I mean, is this a retail? An under ringing? >> Two double retail. >> Okay. >> They paid for one item. >> Yeah, they went around this morning. They started bagging into the pet. >> Okay. >> You know, I still have not grabbed an LOL book. I still have not grabbed an LOL book. >> Hello book. >> I think I >> don't stop. Don't mix up. >> I think the fourth time that he's been reminded of that. >> Yeah. >> You know what? If you do, go ahead cuz that'll make >> the last time I did it and then Nico came and I'm like, >> you know, I believe the last time I gave you >> I can't find the >> Oh, you see it? You know uh who watched me have an owl book trying to have stickers owl. >> The background checks come back clean [music] revealing no known criminal history for either suspect. With that in mind, the officers begin digging deeper into what may have driven the couple to this point. right now because you guys don't have any uh any type of lararseny, burglary, robbery, we're going to give you what we call local ordinance citation because we're hoping that this will help you guys make better decisions. So, basically a speeding ticket. >> Okay. >> All right. Cable, >> hold on a second. I can't do two things at once. I'm always >> You can't do one thing at one. >> That's true. Do you got my number? >> Can I ask you guys a question? What are you doing? You don't look like bad people. What's this all about? >> Stupid. >> Well, you were here once before and you didn't get caught. You got caught today. And I, like I said, I can't help but think that this isn't the first time. I believe you were probably at other stores. So, what is the issue? It's hard to find a job. >> Joe, you don't really expect me to believe that, do you? In this day and age with all the people that are looking for help, >> it is though. I filled out like 250 applications out going all around town. >> Okay. >> Been in in interviews. They just did not. >> It's hard to It's hard to work a job with bipolar and traumatic brain injury and PTSD and anxiety, a bunch of mental illnesses. So, it's hard. You're absolutely, Joe. You're right. It is >> because I feel like I can't get anything. >> Okay. >> You know, I'm not getting no interviews, no jobs. Nobody can hire me. >> Okay. >> I don't know what to do. So, it's like the only thing I have left to do is just skill to get what I want cuz nobody wants to hire me. Nobody wants to >> work with them. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. I don't need to do this. Like just cuz like I don't know a job. I can't It's wrong. Of course. >> With the officer willing to hear them out, both suspects begin speaking more openly about what happened. The Bible says it's wrong. I've been reading the Bible more and stuff recently. >> Yeah, it's terrible. Yeah, I know. It's just Yeah, >> I can say. >> Have you gotten help for your your illnesses? Are you on medication? >> Yeah, I'm on medication. I'm getting help. >> Okay, good. >> That's a good step. >> Psychiatrist. >> Okay. Have you filled out applications? Cuz you're you're in this, you know, you're in this too. >> No. Okay. Well, maybe guys in the future, let's make some better decisions because sooner or later your chances are going to run out. Okay. Um, what you did stealing was not a good idea, but the probably the worst mistake you decided to do was run cuz you guys could have gotten seriously hurt. Did you guys notice the cars in the parking lot when you were running? I guarantee you, you're not going to win against a car, Joe. You're not going to win against a car. And they don't have to be going fast to really hurt you. And if one of my partners got hurt chasing you, you would you would endure more charges. Guys, I get it that times are tough out there. I really do. I sympathize with you. I do. But stealing and then running from the police is probably not the solution. >> Not your even though I got >> especially now. >> With other questions addressed, the officer turns his attention to the pocketk knife discovered among the male suspect's belongings. >> Terrible. >> Pocket knife. Whatever. >> So why do you have it? >> I don't have it. >> Yeah. Joe, you have founders >> for protection >> from whom? >> You live in Oklahoma, dude. I mean, come on now. >> Plus, we don't know you guys. >> We wouldn't know that you had what you just said, PTSD and all that. >> If something happened and we found the knife, it could have been a bad day for everybody. And I get the fact that you use it for protection and to protect her. I get all that. It's just that you know what it's for. She knows what it's for. >> This first time we're ever meeting. >> Yeah. You guys do this every day. >> I'm just saying when I pulled into the parking lot, I saw you running and then I lost you between the cars with him chasing you. >> Unfortunately, you were the bad guy at that point. >> I don't think you're a bad guy now because we've had a chance to sit down and talk a little bit, but at that moment, you were the bad guy. No offense, I didn't see you at all. It could be because my partner is a little bigger than you. So, but forget all about that. You guys could have been seriously seriously hurt for what? A couple dollars worth of stuff. I mean, you have a traumatic brain injury. >> Could you imagine if you got hit by a car and thrown just a foot and you landed on your head? If you just got hit and fell backwards and banged your head off the concrete or the black top, we not we might not be talking. So again guys, I get times are tough. I don't know exactly what you guys are going through and I'm not going to say, "Oh, I know what you're going through." Cuz I don't. But you know, maybe maybe better decisions in the future. >> Uh she's not in here no more. >> Uh which one's her? Which one's >> guy? >> Guy. I got the guy. >> Their clean records worked in their favor. The officer decides to issue them citations rather than take them into custody. Even so, there are still consequences to come. >> And >> so, what's going to happen now is like you guys are going to receive a local ordinance citation. There'll be a court date time and place. I highly recommend that you show up. >> Um, Walmart is going to trespass you from all Walmart property, including the parking lots. And make no mistake, guys, they have an internal system. So if you go to a different store and somehow you have contact with loss prevention, >> they'll find you on the computer and then because you have been criminally trespassed from their property, they can call the jurist the police of that town and you can be arrested for criminal trespass to real property. Okay? >> No one comes. If you guys are seen inside any of the property, even inside the parking lot, you guys will be automatically arrested. And I'm not going to lie, I'm probably going to end up having to make an investigation on you guys since you guys have been here before. Empty bag full bag. So, let's stand up. Let's walk over this way. What I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you signed underneath my signature here. You can take your ID back. >> You have a picture of the sent to her. I'm going to send this to you guys in the email. >> Thank you, ma'am. Okay, Joe. >> Man, why you jumping in front of me like this, man? You're stealing my thunder. >> He just told me to get ahead of the game. >> Mhm. >> Okay, that's his pen. There we go. Joe, come on over here. >> You're not admitting any guilt here. You're just saying that you acknowledge the citation and you'll show up. It's the same as hers. October 15th, >> uh, 3:00 p.m. at 6701 South Archer at West Archer Road in the courtroom. >> Before the encounter ends, officers make it clear that neither suspect is allowed to return to any Walmart or Sam's Club location in the country. >> Sam, uh, Walmart owns Sam's Club or Sam Club owns Walmart. So, yeah, it's the same corporation. No, just Sam's Club and, uh, Walmart. So, you got Target, you got Costco, J C Penney, CVS. You want to take a picture of this, Ash? Marcus. >> Can I have your receipt, please? >> Which one? >> No, the receipt. >> Yeah. >> How many receipts? >> Yes. How many receipts do you have? >> Are you sending the footage into the detectives? >> Look at you, Scooby-Doo. >> Yeah. >> Wow. Okay. Do you need anything else before we escort these fine upstanding people out of here? >> Okay, you guys are good. >> Yeah. >> Okay, guys, grab your bags. You guys are free to go. >> Okay, you might not believe this, but it was very nice to meet you guys. Okay, please make better decisions. Okay, you're too young to be going through this nonsense. Okay. >> All right, I'm staying down. I still got that 1050 to 232. >> Is there a way I could have transferred that? >> The encounter ended with both suspects facing [music] theft charges and a nationwide ban from Walmart and Sam's Club stores. They were later released pending a court appearance. This senior citizen shoplifting excuse didn't work on the police. On January 21st, 2026, officers in Illinois responded to Walmart after loss prevention staff [music] reported a woman had allegedly been caught shoplifting. Upon arrival, they headed straight to the loss prevention office. >> Hi, how are you? >> Good. >> Good. Um, so they're finishing up like the receipt for the total amount and stuff, but I do have this um lady over here today. She basically came in uh selected a bunch of merchandise craft purses, started filling them up, and then she passed it as fine. So, I apprehended her. Um she's been very compliant. Um but she's just telling me right now that I think she does have like prior history with like retail. So, >> okay. [music] >> Um here's her IP. >> Okay. >> How much was it? >> Um Lori, I'll tell you right now cuz they're bringing the receipt. Laura, is this still your current address in Warrenville? >> I'm pardon. >> Is this still your current address in Warrenville? >> My current >> Okay. Okay. What's going on, Laura? >> Pardon me. >> What? What? What's going on? >> I don't know how much it is. >> Okay. So, you just put stuff in your bag? >> Yes, it was in the cart. >> Okay. Okay. You had no intentions to pay for your stuff? >> I'm pardon me. >> You had no intentions to pay for your stuff. You didn't want to pay? >> Yes, I was going to go ahead and go to the run register. I didn't mean to go. >> I lost a key. >> Okay. >> And I was going to go ahead and um I thought maybe I had dropped it >> on on the way in. So, I asked her. I knew that she worked here um even though she wasn't in uniform. >> Okay. Um, and I and I was hard of hearing to where I didn't hear her. >> Okay. >> And I thought she was talking to me and I went out the first door, not the second door. >> Mhm. >> And I was asking her a question and she was saying something and I didn't hear her and she just wanted me to come in the office. >> Okay. Now, the officer asks the woman a question that will determine how the situation unfolds. >> No, I'm here. >> Okay. Have you done this before? >> Yes, I did. Please don't arrest me because I'm going to go in jail. I have one case I have to go to. Please, >> what what uh what store? >> I won't do it yet. I promise. >> What store for another Target? I have to stand up. >> I'm sorry. Is it for another Target? What's >> No, not another Target. >> Okay. >> Walmart. >> Oh, perfect. >> Thank you. >> I'm so sorry. >> You can take a seat. You can sit down. >> I'm hard here. I'm deaf and want your entire >> better that one. Okay. Okay. Careful. >> Okay. Okay. >> What would you guys like to have done? >> Okay. >> All right. So, >> how much you got? >> 665. >> Okay. So, she walked through the first doors, not the second doors with her stuff. She said she thought she lost the key. And so, that's why she's walking through. She didn't hear them calling her. Um, obviously they want to press charges. Do you also want her trespass from the Okay. >> Yeah, I gave her the verbal trespass. Um, so she's trespass just for one year, but she knows. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Hey, Lori. >> Do you trespass from this Target location? for one year. >> So, you're still you can still go to other targets, but not this one. Okay. She said she >> and this again, please. >> Oh, this one. >> Oh, okay. >> So, I just wanted to let you know about your trespasses. >> The woman is now informed of the potential consequences surrounding the alleged theft, and she doesn't appear prepared for what comes next. >> $667. >> How do you $600? >> It's all the merchandise. It's I know. It's the glasses, the bows, everything. It's expensive. >> Oh my god. I did not realize it was too much. >> What was it? Basically up. >> Uh I >> the sunglasses. >> The sunglasses and the purses. The purses are expensive. Like everything like that's accessories like jewelry like all of that is expensive. So yeah. >> Oh my god. I look at the prices. I'm for sure let him be arrested. Oh god. I can't shop. >> I would have made it. >> What's your name? >> That kind of money. What's your name? Yes. Your name? >> Pardon me? >> Your name? >> Laura. Laura. Okay. [music] >> Just call me Laura. You won't be able to pronounce the last name. >> Have you ever been arrested before, Laura? >> Yeah, I have. >> For what? >> I mean, >> for what? >> Okay. How many times? >> Never this much. >> How many times? Um, three times. >> Okay. >> A long time ago. >> When was the last time you were arrested? The last time. >> Last time I'm um I I have one right now and this one. >> Okay. >> That's why I can't be I I going to one door. The woman continues to downplay the incident, claiming she didn't know how much merchandise she had. Unfortunately, at this point, no words can stop what's coming next. >> I was going to pay for this, but I didn't ask much. >> I got you. I'm going to read you your rights. Okay? You know what your Miranda rights are? I'm going to read your rights. Okay. >> I I want you to listen because I know you're saying you have a hard time hearing. So, just >> Yeah. They're already death. >> Okay. So, listen to me, okay? Cuz this is important. This is just like the movies. I got to read it to you. Do you understand that? Okay. Now, I feel more comfortable talking to you because you're telling me all kinds of stuff. Okay. >> Why did the uh Why did the lady leave? >> Uh she's grabbing some paper from the car. >> She's filing the paper. >> She's grabbing some paperwork from the car. >> Oh, she's doing the paperwork. >> She's grabbing some stuff. Yeah. So, >> I thought >> you were going to buy this stuff today. Pard me. >> You were going to buy everything today? >> Were you going to purchase everything today? >> Not everything. >> Not I didn't even realize it was but I didn't look at the prices. >> Okay. So, how were you going to pay for everything today? >> Pardon me. >> How are you going to pay for everything? >> I was going to use my debit card. >> Okay. Debit card. >> But she said she said she can't let me buy anything. Do you usually just put everything in your cart and pay for whatever or do you like to check prices before you buy stuff? I know this isn't your first rodeo, Laura. >> Oh, I would. >> I would. >> Given the value of the merchandise, the store decides to press charges and officers waste little time acting on that decision. >> All right, Laura, stand up. >> Can you just stand up? Can you turn up? Careful. So, I actually I'm gonna I do have to place you under arrest. Okay. We do have to go back to the police department. Okay. Okay. >> You're anyway. >> I cannot. Okay. All right. So, I'm going to put the handcuffs right here in front of you. Okay. I'm going to take off your gloves. All right. I'm going to take off your gloves. Okay. >> Okay. >> We can we can hold your gloves. We can hold them. We can hold them. >> We can hold your gloves. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, we can hold We're not We're not going to take them. >> Did you want to start? >> Yeah. After I go to the police, will I be released? >> We have We have to call We have to call someone. Okay. We have to call the state's attorney. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Actually, Laura, I'm going to have you turn around. I just have to make sure you don't have anything that's going to stick or poke me. Okay. You might >> So, when I go to the police station, >> we'll talk about that. >> Take a picture. >> We'll talk about that in a little while. Okay. Right now, she's just got to search you. >> But then I >> Yeah, we'll talk. So, first first she's going to search you. >> You just put your hand for me. You going to hold on to my hand? >> My pink first. >> Okay. Okay. >> I got make sure. >> Take a hold of my hand. She's going to search you. >> My king first. >> I'm holding on to it. >> My yellow is in there. >> She's got to search you. Laura, you're under arrest right now. >> Okay. Yep. He's going to hold your hand so you don't fall over. Okay. >> So, when I go to the police station, take a picture, then I get to go home. >> Most likely. Okay. >> Most likely >> we got to call the state's attorney. Okay. It's all up to them right now. >> Me? >> It's all up to the state's attorney what charges you get. >> You've been arrested three times for this. >> Okay. Okay. Laura, we're going to put your handcuffs on in front of you. Okay. >> Front. Okay. Handcuffs in front. >> Hi. >> She's going to handcuff you up front. >> You can turn around. Okay. I'm going to put these handcuffs on you. Okay. The cuffs are on and officers begin escorting the woman toward the patrol vehicle waiting outside. >> They're going to sit right here in front of you. Okay. Now, I'm going to uh lock them so they don't that they don't move. Okay. >> Pardon me. >> I'm going to I'm going to lock them so they don't move. >> We're [snorts] going to take your wallet and your keys. Okay. >> These are your kids. >> Little wallet goes inside the black thing. Okay. Upside down. >> Okay. It goes upside down. >> I'm going to get photographs. >> Thank you. >> All right, we got it. We're not We're not losing it today. Okay, >> we got it. >> You didn't put it up there. >> I I understand. >> Did you fall out? >> Well, I'm sure. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> All right, Laura, we're going to head this way. Okay. >> Are you good? Do you want me to vlog? You put it upside down. >> All right, Laura. >> Was that down to go target? >> No, Woodridge. >> Pardon me. >> Woodridge. >> Okay. Do you have the heat on here? >> I do. Is it? >> I don't feel it at all. >> You don't feel it? >> We're almost there. Okay. >> I still don't have my glove. >> Well, we're bringing your glove. The officers do their best to understand where she's coming from, but for now, all they can do is handle her situation professionally and with care. >> Okay, Laura, >> let's get you in there. We'll get your gloves back. Okay. >> Pardon me? >> We'll get your gloves back. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. You're going to move this leg. This leg's going to come out. Okay. >> Okay. >> I got you. >> Yep. You can pull on me. Yep, you're good. >> There you go. >> Okay. >> I had one step. >> I asked her I didn't Oh, there's Hang on. Hang on. Hang on one second, Laura. I can help you out. Hang on. >> Oh, well, hang on. >> I asked her about the key. I didn't hear her. Then I took some more steps in. It was like as if I felt like I was trapped. >> Okay. >> Did you follow me? >> H Did I follow you? >> No. No. No. Her when I The manager there. >> Yeah. >> I took one step but got really completely in. I asked her about the red key that I had lost and I didn't hear her and she was in court in the corner up to the second door. >> Okay. >> And >> I felt like it just it was entrament. >> Okay. You'll be able to when you when you have that court date, you'll be able to talk to the judge and let them know about what's going on. Okay. That's why you have that that court date. Okay. Thank you. >> Yep. Make sure you get in. And then I'm going to grab the seat belt so that we can wrap it around you so you can be safe. >> But then when I found out it was $600, it's like I didn't realize but I didn't really see the [ __ ] >> Yeah. >> I I was really out of it. Okay. All right. >> Oh. >> All right. I'm going close the door. Yep. The investigation ultimately concluded with a woman being arrested and charged with [music] theft. This teenager's night kept getting worse with every decision. In this next case, officers in Palm Beach County, Florida, responded to a retail store after staff reported [music] that a teenager had allegedly been caught stealing a drink. Here's what employees told the officers when they arrived. >> What happened to me? Um, I was in the core. the security came and got me in. She was just like um somebody was stealing a customer came in and apologized and offered to pay for the beer. Then she came back and they made me aware that she was under 21. I had her call you guys and then I got she came back and she said, "You guys are out here and okay, thank you." >> Yeah. Where' they go? >> She was outside checking and >> got her mom. She going to pay for the beer when she come back after she Okay. But she say that um >> it's the one over there by the sign. >> Um it's >> Does she have like a poofy hair? >> No, she have cornrows. >> Corn rolls. Okay. >> So she think that she's like that because of school stuff. Um while she was at school, they might have put something into her drink. >> So she's on this side or >> Okay, show us. Yeah. Officers now head outside to find the suspect. And here's when the encounter takes an unexpected turn. I like >> that's her. >> Mhm. >> What's going on? >> What's going on? Can you give me a black >> step over here for me? >> Can you not touch me? Ma'am, do not touch. Do not touch me. >> Okay. Why do you have that? >> Let me go. >> We're not telling you again. >> We're not again. Yep. >> And as if the alleged theft wasn't enough trouble, the 18-year-old's next decision only makes the situation a lot worse. >> Oh, can I get this off? >> I didn't do I have beer all over me. >> Get this off of my face. >> She's the one from >> Bro, get Bro, get these handcuffs off you. You're going to jail. You're under arrest. >> Bro, get these handcuffs off the No, you're going to jail. >> You just pour beer all over us. You're 18 years old drinking. >> I'm not 18. What the Bro, get >> not going to the back of my car. Let's go. She's going to >> I'm not going to that. >> My car is on the other side. >> You want to bring your car over here? >> Yes. >> Let me under arrest. Hey, you got to take another. >> Yeah, let me do it. >> Can you put her against my >> Can you Can you wait? Nothing. Turn around. Fix the car. >> Girl, why is you holding me like that? Don't call me like that. I got it. You Well, you're pushing me too hard. Like, let me go. >> Okay. So, get >> relax yourself. >> I'm going to chase your your waistline. Okay. >> I mean, if you want to fall, you're your only means to fall. But if not, we'll get you in the car. With the suspect detained, officers continue the investigation by speaking further with store employees and the suspect's mother. >> She's crazy. That's what she tells me that she's crazy. >> I don't know why she wanted to pay for that. That's why I didn't let her go. >> That's fine. That's fine. But um the call taker that we got the notes, she said she was pushing mom inside. Yeah, it was like you check the camera. She was what she I wanted to know how many times we but once I see that when she told me that she did see and I saw her being very aggressive to her mom pushing all the dogs with the car I was like I'm calling 911. >> Okay. All right. So she was so mom was trying to get in the car or something like that. >> Yeah. I wanted to know how many gears. >> Okay. Show me show me what show me how she pushed mom. Mom, >> you have the video. >> She said her. She said that she Okay. >> And then mom, she had a PayPal card, which I'm going to give that to you. Okay. And she also had >> she just had random paperwork. So, I'm just going to give this to you. Okay. >> Hold on. >> Just before transport, the suspect's mother request that the officer explain the situation directly to her father over the phone. >> Dad, for that. >> Hi, sir. Your daughter is under arrest for battery on a Leo, shoplifting, and public intoxification. Okay. Your daughter is underage. She stole a beer from a wall. She stole a Budweiser. >> Yeah, I know. She's not suit. That's why I'm telling the I was telling the sheriff the sheriff. That's why my wife my wife she took the beer. My wife came back to take the be cuz my wife didn't have to buy something today. But my wife didn't speak she going to take the the beer inside. She my wife didn't get her to buy the beer. She take the bill. You know that's why my wife come back to pay the bill. But even my wife to pay the bill but my wife say when she pay the bill she come back. She said, "Okay, as Christian, you know, >> sir, >> I understand, but when I went to go grab the beer from her because she's 18 drinking a beer." >> Exactly. >> Um, she threw it at us. >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
