Man, we're not trying to hurt you right now. We're just trying to hurt you. >> Well, we're not trying to if you stop resisting. >> This is my property and I will >> any of you guys >> I'm on my property and I'll any of you that don't >> Some people assume officers will go easier on them because of their age. These encounters don't quite work out that way. Here are moments when entitled grandmas can't believe cops are actually taking them to jail. Woman can't believe officers are actually arresting her. On July 23rd, 2023, officers spotted a vehicle allegedly driving recklessly and quickly flagged the driver down for a traffic stop. Here's how the encounter unfolded. >> Can I help you? You scared me. >> Is everything all right? >> I'm I'm totally fine. But from your lights behind me, I didn't know if it was someone trying to pass me. You scared me. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> Like I was totally fine. >> Okay. >> But then from the lights behind me >> Mhm. >> I didn't know if it was an idiot trying to pass me. >> No, I just came up behind you cuz I was just watching the way you were driving >> and and I couldn't tell from your lights behind me. Like it looked like they were offkiltered. >> Mhm. >> So I didn't think it was a cop. >> Okay. >> Otherwise, I absolutely would be respectful. >> Mhm. >> But I kind of got scared. So I I don't want to be in anyone's way. >> Sure. You got your driver's license on you, man. You crew for insurance, please? >> I'm just live right down here. >> Okay. Can I get your driver's license, please? What's your name, ma'am? Well, >> if I do all this, I'm going to jail. >> Why is that? >> It's just a freaked out. >> Okay. Is this your car? >> Yeah, >> it is your car. >> Can I just go home? >> Well, I just want you to answer some questions. Is this your car? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I just want to go home and I'm almost home. >> Okay. Can you get your driver's license for me and then we can work through it together? Okay. That's that's all I want from you right now. >> I'm not going to get to go home. Who said that? Me. >> Why is that? >> I'm right down the road from >> Well, why why are you saying you're not going to be able to get to go home? >> Cuz you were behind me messing with me. >> I wasn't mess I wasn't messing with you. I just told you a reason why I stopped you and then you you took off at a high rate of speed. >> I know that's when I stopped you. >> I thought there was an idiot behind me. So, I'm trying to get out of his way. >> Okay. Getting her license should be the easiest part of the stop, but the woman's response quickly turns a basic request into a much bigger issue. Yeah. How about you just get your driver's license for me and then we can work on uh getting out of here. >> Just follow you can follow me home. >> No, I need to know who I'm speaking with. What's that? >> Can you just follow me home right down the road? >> Okay, Cam. How about I tell you what, how about you get your driver's license for me and I'll check all that out and then uh we can figure out what we're going to do from here on out. That doesn't happen. You can't just follow me a mile down the road from me. >> I can't follow you unless I know who you are. >> Okay, so I'm going to jail. >> I never said you're going to jail. >> I never said I never said one time that you're going to jail. I never even brought up going. If I don't have a license, I'm going to jail. >> Why wouldn't you have a driver's license? Are you suspended? Are you revoked or something? Or do you not have a license on you? >> Going to jail? >> No, I'm just asking if you have a license or any for >> No, I don't. So, I'M GOING TO JAIL. >> WHO SAID YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL? >> I'm me. Why are you saying that? >> I'm a mile away from home. >> Okay. Well, you don't have a driver's license. How about I just get your name? Is that okay? >> I don't want to go to jail, sir. >> Okay. I'm not I'm not saying you are going to jail. >> Well, I would absolutely go to jail. >> Okay. How about What's your first name? Is it Kimberly or is it What is it? >> I don't have a name. You have to give me your name. >> I don't have I'm going to go to jail. >> Can I get another? >> I'm going to go to jail. >> Okay. All right. How about you step out of How about you step out of the car for me? Okay. >> No, I don't want to go to jail. >> I never said you WERE GOING TO JAIL. >> I'M GOING TO GO TO JAIL. I DON'T WANT TO GO TO JAIL. >> I never said you were. >> I don't know why I don't know why you're assuming you're just going to go to jail. >> All right. How about you step out and we just have a conversation. That's all. >> Yeah. I saw you could try me. So, I'm going to try and make sure me. >> No, I'm going to try and make sure you're okay to get home. >> No, you're not. You're a liar. >> I'm not lying to you. No, I got to make sure you're okay to drive. That's all. >> I just want to go home. I live a mile up the road. >> Okay, we can have a conversation if you step out of the car. >> You're a lawyer. >> I'm not lying. The officer continues asking the woman to step out of [music] the vehicle, but she seems convinced that if she keeps pleading her case, she can somehow avoid what's coming next. >> You're a liar. >> I'm not lying. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> No, I I swear I'm not lying to you. >> A mile up the road. >> Okay. Okay. So, you going to step out of the car for me? >> Why? So you can put cuffs on me? >> I never said that. I never said anything. >> You don't have to say that. I'm going to run into the woods. >> You're not going to run into the woods. >> Yes, I am. >> No, you're not. No, you're not. No, you're not. No, you're not. Nope. If you do that, I'm going to >> You're not running from anywhere. >> Seven and 39. You guys both route. >> I'm not going to jail. >> I never said you were going to go to jail. I'm running into the woods. >> You're not running into the woods. >> Yeah, you guys are both going to need to start this way. >> I never said you're going TO GO TO JAIL. I JUST WANT TO TALK to you. How do you know I'm not going to just give you a ride home? >> I don't have a license. >> Okay. Well, you don't even tell me your name. >> Because I don't have a license and I'm a mile away from >> Okay. Well, so what? >> Why? >> I said so what if you don't have a driver's license? It's not a big deal or nothing. No, I'm not. >> How do you know I wouldn't just write you a ticket and then just give me a ride home? How do you know that? You don't know that? Cuz you won't give me the benefit of the doubt. >> You automatically go to jail. >> No, you don't. No, you don't. Not at all. That's not how that works. >> What's that? >> No. You know how many times I've cut people just tickets and let them go or given them a ride home just because of the simple fact they haven't had a driver's license? It's not that big of a deal. >> Yes. >> No, it's not. It really, it really isn't. It's a simple It's a simple citation is all that is. And who even said I'd give you a ticket? Why don't you just step out and come back there and talk with me? >> Cuz you're going to arrest. >> I'm not going to arrest you. I never said I was going TO ARREST YOU. >> SHEPHERD IS WAITING AT HOME FOR ME. >> JUST CALM DOWN. >> MY DOG DOESN'T HAVE NO ONE BUT ME. My German Shepherd is my baby is waiting at home for me. A second officer steps in to help, but even with both of them explaining what needs to happen, getting her out for field sobriety tests remains a challenge. Step out of the car for me, please. >> Mrs. Turnick, can you step out of the car? >> I'm trying to have a conversation with you, and I'd prefer to have this conversation outside. >> Okay, so this is what's going to happen. Okay, >> you're going to arrest >> No. Can you just listen to me, please? >> You're going to arrest me? >> No. Can you just listen to me? >> I just got to go a mile home. I got my German Shepherd waiting for me. There's no one there to take the dog out. >> I'm going to ask you one more time politely to step out of the vehicle. >> I'm not going to get arrested. >> I'm asking you to step out of the vehicle. Am I going to get arrested? Let's do one thing at a time. >> Am I going to get arrested? >> If you don't get out of the car, you're going to get arrested. >> Yes. >> If I step out, am I going to get arrested? >> If you don't get out of the car, you're going to get arrested one way or another. If you don't get arrested, >> you're going to get arrested. Okay. So you if you don't get out of the car, you're definitely getting arrested. >> But I'm getting arrested either way. >> No, that's not >> that's not what I'm saying. I'm just I'm asking you politely to step out of >> a German Shepherd at home and no one's coming home to her. >> You're going to step out now. >> Give me Let me see your hand. You You stepped out politely. I just want to make sure you don't fall. >> Okay. Now, we're going to walk to the front of my car. Okay. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, can you stand over here for me? >> Which way, sir? >> That's fine. just how you're standing. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to check your eyes. Okay? >> Okay? >> I want you to focus on the tip of my finger. Okay? Can you see the tip of my finger? >> Follow with your eyes and your eyes only. Do not move your head. Do you understand? >> Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. Keep your feet together. Okay? >> Don't move your head. >> Oh, yeah. >> Keep watching. >> I want to go home to my baby. >> Keep watching. Okay. >> I got you. I'm good. That's so good. Thank you. >> Okay. So for the next test, what I want you to do is we're going to use this line right here for reference. This white line. Okay. >> Okay. We're going to work on that. Okay. Would you wish to continue? >> Yes. >> Okay. So what I want you to do is I want you to draw an imaginary straight line from here to the front of my car. Okay. >> Imaginary. >> Yes. You can use that white line. You can use that white line for reference. Okay. >> The officer gives the woman yet another chance. Carefully [music] explaining what she needs to do for the field sobriety test. But once again, her response gets them nowhere. Well, how about we just use this? >> Okay, Kim, how about we just use this white line for reference? >> Who draws an imaginary line? So, I'm this stupid. >> You I already told you I'm stupid. >> I never said you were stupid. >> I'm telling you I'm stupid. So, what is an imaginary line? >> I say the same exact spiel to everybody else that I run through Field. I'm >> sure you do. >> I do. It's I have plenty of camera to it. >> Okay. Well, we don't have to use an imaginary one because there's a white solid line that you can use right there. >> I don't get that. >> Okay. So, when I tell you to begin, I want you to take nine. >> Wait, wait, wait. When you said imaginary line, that means I could be over here and do it. >> Yep. If you wish. Go ahead. If you wish. >> Now, let me try to do this. Wait, I can't do this. But I want to try. >> Okay. I want to do it again. >> OKAY. >> I DID IT three times. >> Okay. Don't Don't touch me. Okay. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I'm a hugger. >> Okay. >> What are you saying? I'm sorry. Nine. What? >> Nine heel to toe steps. >> What is nine heel? >> I'm going to demonstrate for you if you let me get to that portion. Okay. >> I never heard that in my life, so I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about. >> Okay. Turn around. Put change on your back. You're done. Turn around. No. Come on. Come on. You're done. You're done. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. You're done. How do I do what you're saying? >> You're done. >> No. Please. >> Put your hands BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> MY DOG. >> PUT YOUR HANDS behind your back. >> Please, SIR. PLEASE. PLEASE. >> PUT YOUR hands behind your back. >> My dog. >> We're going to help you up. Be an adult. Knock it off. >> We're going to help you uph. We're going to help you. >> I can't do it. >> She's now in cuffs. But judging by her reaction, the woman still doesn't seem to fully understand where the encounter is led. >> I given you plenty of opportunities. >> I didn't understand what he was saying. >> Yeah. Because you're so intoxicated. >> No. So you're making my German Shepherd be at home alone. >> Somebody, >> you're making my German I didn't understand what they say. Nine stuff. I didn't know what that meant. So you were waiting to do this all along. Well, that's because you're >> you're a liar. I don't have you don't have a license either. >> Yeah, you're also walk. >> So, why did you even with me? >> Walk. Come on. >> Why are you giving my arm a bruise? >> Cuz you're not listening to me. >> You're not walking with me. >> I was trying. You lied. I hate you. >> Get off. >> I hate you. MY DOG. TANK. I LOVE YOU, TANK. I'M SORRY. >> We're going to carry We're going to lift you into the car. >> My dog. I'm telling you right now. >> That's a bad idea. That is a bad idea. >> I'M A RADIO. MY DOG IS HOME ALONE. >> YOU DON'T CARE. WHY IS THE GERMAN SHEPHERD AT THIS TIME? >> WHY IS THIS GERMAN SHOT FOR THE COP DOG? >> OH, Jesus Christ. The woman was ultimately charged with DUI, driving without a valid driver's license, and resisting arrest. Woman rearends a Porsche, then somehow makes it worse. On May 4th, 2025, officers responded to a crash [music] after one vehicle reportedly rearended another. Here's what happened when they arrived. >> So, we were stopped at a red light and she just rear ended me. Well, she >> Edward William 27679 EW27679. >> Okay. >> Okay. Can you You have insurance and driver's license on you? >> All right. Can you go ahead and step out of the car for me, though, just so we're not sitting in the car in the middle of the road? >> What was that you just sprayed on yourself? >> My perfume. >> Spray. I just wonder why you had to spray perfume right now. >> They're crooked. >> Okay. >> What happened? So, you want to tell me what happened? >> Just get on, right? >> I was driving and all of a sudden she stopped and I ran into them. >> Okay. And you came from >> She stopped right away. All you can do is Just go ahead and get in the car. Go ahead and get in the car. You said what? Sorry. >> She stopped. I was going home. >> Okay. Where's home? >> And Mantino. >> Okay. What's a good address for you, Mantino? >> With her basic information out of the way, the officer turns his attention [music] to how the crash happened. But her behavior soon raises a much bigger concern about whether she should have been driving at all. >> And so you keep going. You were coming here. She was not. She's coming here and all of a sudden she stopped and that's what happened. >> Okay. And >> I didn't do it on purpose. >> Okay. Any reason why your lights are off right now? >> I must have turned them off badly. >> Okay. >> When I was in the car. >> So, where did you come from? >> Where did I come from? >> Yeah. I came from going out here in Walmart. >> Okay. But before you told me Kohl's. Now it's Walmart. >> Well, I was at Kohl's, too. >> Okay. >> I'm not lying. >> Okay. Have you had anything to drink? You could be honest. >> Uh, I had a beer earlier. >> What time is What time is earlier? >> Um, I didn't have that much drink. I had one drink and it was at Walmart. >> You had a drink at Walmart? No. What time at Walmart? >> I'm confused. >> Earlier. >> I know. What time is earlier? I'm trying to get a time frame. >> Um, it was earlier in the day. >> Okay. Um, do you mind when he's done? We're going to do a couple things. Okay. >> I'm not lying. That's I had a hard day because I was being And I'm not lying. And it happened and >> Okay. And you had a little bit to drink tonight, right? Is that correct? >> That was a long time ago. >> Okay. But you're saying a long time ago. You're not giving me a right cuz you said something about Walmart. >> Uh, yes. I was at Walmart earlier. >> Okay. >> Okay. You want to You want to hold this for me? After observing the woman throughout their conversation, the officer decides it's time to ask her to perform a field sobriety test. >> You mind doing a couple things with us so we make sure you're going to drive home? >> Sure. >> Okay. >> Well, actually, no. I don't want to. >> Why? Why is that? >> Why is that? >> Yeah. >> Because I've been >> Okay. >> by policemen. >> Okay. We're We're not That has nothing to do with what we're about to do. >> Yeah. Well, I'm telling you, I was by policemen and so I have no desire to go through anything else. Okay? >> I'm not lying. Uh you can look at my forehead >> and you can look at the back of my head and >> What's wrong with the back of your head? >> Uh do you want to put uh do you not see these bruises here? >> No, I do not. >> Yeah, that's a lie because they're here. >> Okay. So, you don't want to do a couple things for us to make sure you're good to drive? >> I'm fine. >> Okay. >> Um, I'm not lying. >> The woman still isn't cooperating. And at this point, the officers have made their decision about what happens next. >> I had a hard day. >> Okay. Well, can I have you have your car keys real quick? Just >> uh, no. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to need you to put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest for DUI. Okay. >> Are you >> Come on. Don't Don't do this. Don't do this. >> Alone. >> Don't. It's because we're suing the police department. >> LEAVE ME ALONE. >> GET OFF ME. >> My purse is back there. Get off me. You're me. Leave me alone. >> Placing her under arrest is one thing. Getting her into the patrol car, however, quickly becomes another challenge. >> LEAVE ME ALONE. >> YOU'RE HURTING me just like you guys were in my house. >> Get in the car. >> And you beat me up. >> Go on the other side. >> LEAVE ME ALONE. >> Leave me alone. >> I'm not going anywhere. GET OFF OF ME. GET OFF [screaming] OF ME. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> Stop resisting. >> You're hurting me. >> You're hurting in THIS CAR. SO YOU >> LEAVE ME ALONE. OH MY GOD. You're >> Stop resisting. You are acting like a 2-year-old. >> Sit. >> Choking me. >> SIT UP. >> SIT UP. >> DAD. I WANT MY DAD. >> I THINK YOU NEED TO QUIT DRINKING. GET HER 1019. ALL RIGHT. >> Getting her into the patrol car was difficult enough, but when it's time to get her back out, the officers run into the exact same problem. >> All right. We're going to get a female officer out here. >> Leave me alone. >> We're going to go in this room. >> Leave me alone. >> Come on. Let's go. Get out. >> Get out. >> Get my I WANT MY PURSE OUT. COME ON. NO. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. >> You are hurting me. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. You guys me and beat me and me. >> Go back in the car. >> LEAVE ME ALONE LIKE YOU WANTED. >> NO, LEAVE ME BACK in the CAR LIKE YOU WANTED. >> LEAVE ME ALONE. YOU'RE HURTING MY ARM. >> Go get a warning motorist. Sit in your front seat. Reit to her from there. >> In the end, the woman was charged with DUI and resisting arrest. woman thinks she can talk her way out of anything. On March 28th, 2023, officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen and moved in to investigate. Watch what happened when they tried speaking with the driver. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> I got stuff, texts, and stuff cuz is it something to do with the van? >> I didn't hear the pulling me over actually. >> Well, because your van is reported stolen. >> Okay, it's not stolen. >> Okay. Well, again, we still have to deal with the fact that it's required. >> That's okay. I can explain it to you. Do you want me to? >> Yeah. Yeah. You kind of need to understand what's going on. >> Well, yeah. Okay. So, I have an issue. I'm on my way to Michigan with this van. >> Okay. >> Probably tomorrow morning. My daughter's in hospital. >> Okay. >> She's 27. She met a friend, a very nice guy. >> Okay. >> He's in his He's 35. So, he got arrested. >> Okay. >> He gave the police the keys to give to me. and rather than get it told at time, but I didn't know all the history. >> Now that the officers finally have a chance to question her, the woman's explanation only leaves them with more questions. >> Was put into a like a sorry cuz of my daughter was with him. He took my daughter from Illinois. >> We called the sheriff because he has mental issues at that time, like bad ones, and we were really worried about her. So she went off with him and uh she went off to Michigan. She called in some place outside outside Ann Arbor about an hour outside. We all had to run up there to rescue her because he was trying to drive through red lights cuz he was whatever he was whatever was wrong with him mentally. He was delusional. So anyway, he got there. He's a very gentle, kind person. I've come to find out I was visiting her in the mental facility. him. He was fine. I He gave me many letters signed that I can drive the van. Then I come across he's not contacting me lately. His dad is the same name. His dad is lying to you. His van is not in his dad's name. That kid is he's not a kid either. He's a full grown man. He's ready to come out and live with me here in Illinois and stay with me. And his mother, she's okay. Um he's he's not allowed to live at home with them cuz they have 120 weapons in the house. whatever it is. Yeah. I don't I know like the lot, but I don't need to know a lot. >> So, I'm driving this. He knows I have this >> number for Walmart. It's going to be 25. >> I'm putting new tires on it. I have a couple toll booth tickets to pay that she sent me as mom. Like, they all know I have the van. His dad comes along and says, "It's his you gave me." >> Where's your driver's license at? >> Well, that's expired. >> I'm not Where is your driver's license at though? You have a physical driver's license? >> I couldn't find it. I've been with the trips to Michigan and back and forth. >> You have anything with your name on? >> I have I have emails and text messages. >> He's lying to you. >> You have anything with your name? >> No. >> Credit cards >> at home. I >> I'm pretty sure I don't cuz I left my passport on the counter. >> The stolen vehicle is already enough for officers to investigate, but now they learned the woman doesn't even have a valid license to drive it. So, the reason my about my license thing, why I'd have to show you my passport is because my immigration thing. So, I'm allowed to go and get this >> cheap this cheap driver's license. >> Okay? >> And if you get that one, it means that you're an illegal alien. But I've lived here. My kids are grown. I'll call him right now for you. >> That you don't need to call. >> No, I'd like to. No. No. >> What's your last name? He can't be in for that long. I've been waiting on his call. I'm not giving the van to his whole time. >> What is your last name? >> They're trying >> seems to be very evasive when you're >> I'm not evasive. I'm trying to tell you everything out so that I'm being sincere. >> Okay. Why don't we have you stand at the back of the >> I'm trying to tell you everything. >> I want you move around. >> Can I show you the proof that the van isn't stolen? It's in my phone. >> Okay. Well, why don't you stand? Listen, I >> the registered owner cuz the machine registration has a driver's license attached to the owner and it's the 37y old that's reported as stolen. Um, but he's also wanted in Michigan, right? Michigan warrants. He's wanted a Michigan for receiving stolen property and cleaning the looting and criminal or criminal trespass basically burglary and and apparently he's in a psych hospital right now. Right. >> That's what she says. But she also just said she dropped off a friend in Skooki but couldn't tell us where. And then when I asked specifically where she said uh well >> my friend drove home. I was driving a friend of my husband's home to Skooki and then >> couldn't tell tell us where >> she's also experienced. >> However, this guy wanted I think it's easier to bring her in. >> I have no reason to >> look the car for now. >> The woman is already refusing to cooperate and the story she's giving the officers isn't making things any easier to understand. >> From my phone, it's all in my phone. Okay, we'll get >> I will not be driving the stolen vehicle. I live in a million dollar house. >> I need the van because I'm going to be kicking him off pretty soon and my daughter. >> Yeah, we'll get it all. >> Just so you know, right? >> We'll get it all worked out. But >> yeah, know I'm totally I'm totally telling the truth right now. Cooperating everything I can do. >> I know. Do you mean like I was talking? >> Okay, go ahead. >> So, your driver's license is expired since 2017, which is illegal to drive on. >> No, the No, I'm allowed to get a license. Hold on. >> You can get a license, but you can't drive until you get your license. >> No, you're not listening on that. I have to explain that cuz I have to explain this to someone else and the sergeant here. >> The story is you're allowed to go and get a driver's license and be a what's it called? illegal alien. Illegal and I can do that. I'm from Ireland and I have also I'm Canadian citizen. I'm from Ire. I grew up in Ireland.
