when criminals think they can buy their way out of trouble they usually just end up with more charges here are five instances when dumb criminals think they can bribe cops number five suspect thinks she can get out of a DUI charge by lying and bribing the police while on patrol on October 20th 2021 an officer spotted a Jeep failing to maintain its Lane initially assuming the driver was merely startled by the presence of a police car the officer continued following the vehicle however after observing the Jeep repeatedly drift toward oncoming traffic and nearly sideswipe another car the officer decided it was time to intervene activating his blue lights and initiating a traffic stop traffic stop all leg and imp Plantation hey how we doing today hi sir what's going on uh just coming home with some food coming home with some food where'd you get food from uh I went to the burrito spot burrito spot gotcha very nice very nice yeah so the reason I pulled you over today is cuz you're uh you're failing to maintain your lane on multiple occasions and you about caused an accident back there is there any reason for that no sir no okay um do you have your driver's license on you of course yeah there any weapons or anything in the car I need to know about no sir where do you live at well I I have relocated from Austin Texas to Athens and my house is about a block away about a block away okay have you had any alcohol today no sir okay you got really slurred speech when you're talking to me between that and the the inability to maintain your lane it makes me wonder if you're under the influence of something not at all okay sounds good have you um do you take medication or anything uh I'm on a every day but that's about it and you're taking it as prescribed yes sir okay with backup on Route the officer asks the driver to step out for a field sobriety test all righty ma'am would you be willing to step out and do some feel sobriety for me to make sure that you're good and not under the influence of anything I'd rather just go home well that's not going to be an option right now I'd like to I'd like to test you to make sure that you're good and then if you are then you can go home and we'll call it a day okay sounds good all righty what I'm going to have you do is what step over to the other side of the road that way we're not you're not on a balance or anything like that we're going to go over here to this uh this driveway okay sure all right this is a lot better nice and flat we're not going to get hit by anybody so it'll be perfect my dog up and down this road really most days yeah all right so I see you have glasses on do you have anything medically that's wrong like uh I understand you may be nearsighted or farsighted but any resting the snag miss or anything like that that would affect your vision well these glasses are a little bit out of date M so they're just that's about it they're not the quite right prescription okay but but that's all it nine steps down heel to toe and then once you get to the end you'll keep your ninth foot planted you'll make some small steps around it and then you'll take nine steps back and you'll stop okay so I'm going to give you an example here you're going to start with your left foot and you're going to count one two three and so on until you get to nine once you get to nine you'll take those small steps around and then you'll take nine steps back one two three and so on until you get to nine okay yes sir you understand the instructions yes sir okay make sure you keep your arms down by your side the whole time and make sure you walk Heel To Toe yep and then you can begin whenever you're ready don't walk in the road I'm really nervous okay I understand you can continue whenever you're ready all right arms down by your side get behind you so you don't fall in the TR despite clearly struggling with a heel to toe test she refuses to admit the truth listen closely to what she has to say instead breath urine or other bodily substances at your own expense and from qualified Personnel of your own choosing will you submit to the state administered of your breath no okay to ensure she fully implied consent form to the suspect so I'm going to read this to you okay like said this is just your DWI statement right form everything go okay so I've marked out the CMV operator and under 20 underage of 21 okay you don't have a CDL so that doesn't pertain to you and obviously you're over the legal age all right so those two and those two that I've marked out all right all right you're advice to any person who operates or an actual physical control of a motorboat or motor vehicle and the state is deemed to given consent to one or more will test of his or her breath saliva urine for the purpose of determining the alcohol or control substance contents of his or her breath or blood if the person is involved in accident while operating an actual physical control of a motor boat on the water of the state or a motor vehicle or the person is arrested for any offense orising out of the ACT alleged to being committed while the person was driving or boating while intoxicating or driving or boating while there is an alcohol concentration is 0.08 or more in the person's breath or blood or at the time the person is arrested for the drive for driving or boating while intoxicated law enforcement officer has a reasonable cause believe that the person while operating actual physical control of a motorboat on the Waters of this state s you're good I'll just start over here oper I privileges will be suspended or evoked so I was is barely over wasn't it no yeah you're way over and if you're the hold of a commercial driver's I and your commercial driving privileges be disqualified if you take chemical test requested by law enforce may also at your own expense have physician registered nurse lab technician or other qualified person of your choice administer an additional chemical test the arresting law enforcement H will assist you obtaining such test if you choose to have an additional test and are later found not guilty the violation of omnis DWI or BWI
