caught red-handed and out of excuses these shoplifters had nowhere to run here are five instances when cops surprise shoplifters in the ACT number five when you're a shoplifter and a bad mother at the same time on February 24th 2022 officers were called to a Walmart for a reported shoplifting case upon arrival they found a woman exiting the store with stolen merchandise and her children in the cart the suspect did pay for some items she also walked out with $187 worth of unpaid merchandise now it seems she's starting to regret not paying her bill in full how many kids you got 798 so this Jurassic Park on there it's say Dr set it is 1148 6891 yep 0468 yeah I think it's just going to be a citation she uh she didn't pay for a lot of stuff they're sorting it out now she paid for like $400 worth of stuff but she didn't scan about half of it so she has return of Stu by taking that were but none shop lipping no that then it doesn't matter so here's her ID they're still going through all the stuff now she's got her baby with her she's being cooperative I told her she's probably just going to get a citation get barred so all right I'll y all right so we were looked into criminal history it doesn't look like you had any shopliftings look like you got some thefts that got dismissed yeah there was like um situations it doesn't matter because it's only shoplifting can matter so what she's doing is she's working on the citation so you'll get a citation you have to go to court or something can I pay for that stuff no that's not how it works I mean once they catch you they catch you so just let them do their thing and you can take the stuff you paid for obviously but uh just let them do the thing I'm going to leave my bag in there okay the officer's got her ID right there I got to go huh they just that's their policy once they stop you I mean cuz that's their job their loss prevention so the mail officer steps inside to verify the barcodes on some item items and three friends from dying on overdose unfortunately for the suspect even appealing to the officer's sympathy won't work in clearing her case one me one died down here then one died in the bag brother the neighborhood all three of them my friends man and then my brother had o to and died but he had came back the N brought him back but he was dead for a while it's just so many many shot we can't addition she was also barred from the location for 2 years number four woman celebrates the holiday season by shoplifting designer bags the holiday season may be a time for giving but this woman seemed to think it was also a free pass for stealing this next footage captured in Florida shows an officer responding to a shoplifting incident at a department store doing good you're good I'm good to go thank you hi officer doing good what's going on not much having some fun over in the mall apparently all of a sudden big fight is that what happened yeah that's not good no but it is what it is is can I talk to you first yes sir uh what did you uh what did you see so um I was on the sales floor and one of my associates called me and he's like hey I think this lady's shoplifting so I'm like okay so she had sunglasses on she had an empty big sax bag so I sat there and watched her and I didn't I didn't see the first initial um selection which she which my men's man my men's associate actually saw but I kept on following her and I was on the sales floor and I kept on just and she selected off the back wall stuck a purse in went selected again grab this was the per the first purse off the back wall stuck it inside the bag okay went to another fixture this is what she had already concealed in this bag went to another fixture pick this up so you saw the other two purses um all three purses okay three purses yeah three purses and she walked around cosmetics and stuff like that did you put any of the testers or anything like that in your purse no no you can check no no no it's fine well I'm going to have to check St yeah have to search your as you can see from the board in the security room this is just one of the many instances of people trying to blatantly steal merchandise from the Department Store and then she walked through lady's shoes she popped off all the tickets right there in lady's shoes and then walked through men's placed the tickets in um a shirt and then went ahead and walked out that's where I went ahead and I apprehended her okay so she did walk out oh yeah pass All Points um both doors so what all did was taken so I have cuz I'm going to need at least like a a gift receipt or something showing the price yeah that's that's fun actually I can but three purses um three purses and a shirt and a shirt yes sir yeah just cuz I need to know yes you were supposed to go to arment back in November for a charge of uh obtaining food by means of the fraud oh she dropped the charges on me we spoke to the officer and the officer dropped the charges you missed your arraignment they put out a field to appearer in the county in palmach County oh okay okay okay okay so because you did not go to that court date that AR it they put a warn out okay so as I did spoke to the officer and the lady from the food you know from the Chinese buffet and they spoke to the officer and she said I want to drop the charges because I did pay and I have all the proof yeah but the issue is is because you missed that arraignment oh okay did you miss that that ini IAL court order order they put out a Feld to appear okay I'm not going to put you in cups just yet okay because I have to wait for them to confirm that it's actually still a valid warrant okay if they come back and tell me know it's not a valid warrant anymore we will uh we'll go ahead and we'll just you know we'll bring you downstairs uh to my vehicle we'll do some paperwork real quick and I'll cut you at least with a notice to okay sir appreciate that so I'm being upfront with you of the stolen items and the suspect receives yet another unexpected blow of bad news sound a a deal what was the total amount um total amount is 2 see the toilet is not on has so actually no there's not going to be an MTA because that's felony amount cuz it's over $750 okay what does that mean that means that you have to go down the county jail whether or not this warrant comes back as a good baby formula from a local Walgreens as officers search the vehicle however they find more incriminating evidence against the suspect your your cousin or friend or whoever they are to you like they're going to jail for what what they took from the Walgreens which was this baby formula stuff the one right here right mhm yes so what's what we call search incident to arrest meaning you're arrested we as the police have the right to search you for any additional items of property for guns for for any of the things let's say we find that stuff on these people we can charge them with that you understand that yes okay good so we searched the vehicle that we that everybody was driving in um and it is we find not just a few things you we find an entire car load of baby formula and makeup and all these things okay so how many receipts you think we found in those bags none probably none the problem is you're driving with them you say what I'm doing R down here I say what I have I get OTC that's over the counter prodct I I'm disabled I have grandkids I don't got no job do you know $1,200 cannot take care of no Grand kid and my daughter I have a disabled daughter as well I cannot take woman driving the car see how she tries to maneuver out of the situation as the officer questions her about her involvement in the crime right so what did that will you ever hear that saying birds of avoid getting caught officers were dispatched to a local department store for an active shoplifting incident upon arrival they found three suspects still inside the store however two male suspects fled on foot leaving a female suspect behind this is what follows after her detainment what's up how you going I haven't talked to her yet is it just one yeah the two guys were gone who you guys got returned to the property but if you go through a bonds you have to pay 10% and if it's below a th 10% of 1,000 is 100 if say your bonds 500 bondsman usually charge a minimum of 100 information comd party at this point it seems the suspect isn't too concerned about the charges she'll receive let see [Music] look think it's 500 okay the bond 10% is 100 well 10% would be 50 but it's a minimum of 100 so it would be 100 bucks okay if you go through bonds if this is so can I the B now or I have to wait time get you need to wait to get down there you got to get booked in first um before you I don't know how long it takes depends how busy they're they are down there they got going on the you got take it's for their they got to do it trust me they at work in the police anytime any anywhere retail store they got it's for their don't really wor about the picture they have on video they have much better pictures they can I don't know why they took picture but they can get a very good before no that's what I'm just asking just want to make sure okay she was subsequently charged with third degree felony Grand Theft number one No Nonsense Cops show shoplifter that playing innocent won't work perhaps denial is a natural reaction but this woman had no chance of slipping away with these non-nonsense officers on the case the situation began at a local Walgreens when employees reported a female subject stealing alcohol after receiving a description the officer spotted the suspect walking in the parking lot here's what happens next actually change course and theying eastbound Albuquerque Police stop right there come here you yeah you put that stuff on the ground what I do put on the ground turn around what do I do what I do turn around what do I do all right you're hurting me okay no one's hurting you hold on what do I do concealing alcohol what for what concealing alcohol you just left uh Walgreens with alcohol no I didn't you didn't no I bought it you bought it while they were in there they told us so you can see no do you have an ID on you no I don't even have an ID okay so if I walk you in there will they show me a receipt that you bought alcohol not from here huh I've been had it dude I promise all right we use the back of my hand you have any Pockets no I promise dude pleas am I going to ja I don't know yet please all right have a seat the help what's that what out underne oh all she says she doesn't have an ID oh she's claiming she bought the alcohol so she bought the alcohol that's what she's saying yeah yeah there's another mini one couch after locating the stolen bottles of alcohol in her possession the officer questions the suspect for her details rather than answering she tries to escape accountability you won't believe what she says next your social if they want if they claim that I did they could H have that what I have but I I swear mister I did not buy that here I know you didn't buy it here you walked out with it they saw you they saw you concealing it we have people inside that were watching you the whole time no mister I didn't but I'm not going to ask you any questions right now okay I'm not you can tell me whatever you want but I'm not asking any questions am I going to jail I don't know that yet pleas I got her uh her social okay they like I said they can have anything the suspect 25-year-old Michaela isn't the only one in trouble trouble as this is happening another officer is with her boyfriend who was with her when she stole the bottles of alcohol so what we're doing today is a shoplifting op so there's like 10 cops in the area waiting for somebody to shoplift from one of these stores the stores are calling us directly when they see it so that's how I know that you did it you can say you didn't but we have people on the phone with us currently 42 Tom 56 415 look I'm not I'm not I don't want you to try to talk your way out of it okay so when you say he claims I know he said he saw you so there's no claiming it's not like you're getting falsely accused however with a value the woman stole she receives a lighter consequence all right I'm going to take you back I'm going to you're getting um you're going to get criminally summons and you're going to get trespassed from from Walgreens okay okay [Applause] can you guys keep an eye on that unit too I got the female in there how's it going who's going to sign off on the trespass where where's he at oh okay and then if I can get a receipt I can do that real quick for you he'll have to print out the receipt so I can get it okay come how are you good how you doing nice see as part of the investigation the officer waits for the receip confirming the total value of the stolen items and an eyewitness approaches to provide information wait um was it the same bottles there cuz we have we have all three of them we have the guy with no yeah so she she handed uh the other guy when they got outside a couple of these bottles um well let me I I'll grab that other stuff before I print out a receipt from the other guy yeah right here I know I know like six items okay so and where um proprietor that one and then I'll get her to sign it when I cut her and then uh I'll bring one back to you all right cool bottom one bottom one all right okay y now the officer heads back outside the store to let the woman know about the citation [Applause] hi Michaela you're going to be getting s uh criminally summons go and step out you're going to have to go to court if you don't go to court then you're going to have to you're going to get a warrant for your arrest okay step back and close this door are you doing okay okay anything Hurt No okay I going to need you to sign this criminal trespass as the officer removes Michaela's handcuffs the other officer delivers some bad news right over here what's your name Michaela I added to the okay your boyfriend's going to jail today he's too and he's got Bloons and a war
