These people were just minutes away from boarding. Then one bad choice ruined their whole trip. Here are five cases of airport arrests that went from 0 to 100 really fast. Number five, man couldn't handle his liquor and the airline couldn't handle his behavior. On September 20th, 2022, officers were called to an airport after reports of a man causing a disturbance mid-flight. The moment the plane touched down, the suspect was greeted by law enforcement. Here's what happened next. Yeah. >> You guys are the ones around me. >> No, no, no. You Slow down, buddy. Slow down. >> You have to run. >> You see this person in front of me, right? Slow down. Chill out. act like it's a movie or something. >> Look right here. Right here. Let's pull out right here. >> Okay. You have your boarding passing pass. >> Your ID. [Music] This is my thing. >> This is where I'm from. This is my boarding pass. Right there pass. >> This is my phone. >> I have a driver's license. >> If you do, can I see it? >> My driver's? No, I do not have a driver's license. >> You have any type of ID? >> Yes, it's right there. >> Okay. Can I see it? >> At this point, TSA officials are still piecing things together. What they do know is that multiple flight staff pointed to the man as the one who started it all. >> You are really terrifying right now. >> Uh yeah, I think so. >> What happened on board? >> On the boat. >> On board. What happened? >> What happened on board? >> Someone was me acting like I didn't like I deserve not to be there. >> That's what happened. >> And what was the reaction you give him? the reaction I got. >> What's your name? >> Benjamin. >> Benjamin, can you do me a favor? Go inside your bag and grab your ID. >> This is for my girlfriend's kids, okay? Because one of them is they like the pink and they like the blue and that is it. >> Where's our purse? >> I mean, where's the weather? >> What's the piece of paper in there? >> It's nothing, man. >> It's literally just a piece of paper. >> What's the other one? >> This. It's literally wireless headphones. >> Where's your ID? >> You have a wallet on there? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Can you take that out? Can you open that up? >> And it's >> and I work. >> Can I see this ID? >> Yes, sir. >> Thank you. So, that's what we asked you if you had a ID card or a driver's license. >> I work on boats. I'm a captain. Well, I'm not a captain. I'm training to be a captain. Just do that. >> The man was only supposed to be passing through on a layover, but after his behavior on the plane, it's unlikely he'll be making it to his final destination anytime soon. >> And your final destination. >> Excuse me. >> Where's your final destination? Where are you going? >> Same court tonight. >> So, you won't be able to go to the same court today. Okay. >> I won't be able >> We're going to leave you for that second. >> Why? I don't think we should in trouble today. They were not supposed to let you on on that plan coming today. You were supposed to stay in New Orleans. [Music] >> So, we asking you a basic question. Your wallet is on there. You don't know where it is. You find your story. >> You are going to be funny. Okay. Give me a second. >> Okay. I mean, I'd like to just go home. >> Well, we're done here a few minutes. Okay. I need to ask you a question and answer. Couldn't even give us the basics. You need to give us your ID. >> I gave you my ID. That's why you have to ask you to take the wallet down. Yes. >> I gave that to you a long time ago. >> Yeah. See right there? >> It just doesn't make any sense because you guys are just trying to make up stories. >> We're not making just so you know. >> Oh, it's all my phone right there. >> Same thing. Same thing. It's the same exact thing. >> Random things. [Music] guarantee you know stand and >> oh well I can go home right now or you can just make up a bunch you're making up a bunch >> he's become more agitated and with officers gathering multiple accounts from those on board things are clearly headed in the wrong direction for him really like keen sense of eyesight Look at this. [Music] >> Put this in the bag. >> Hey buddy, you want to go home and have a good time? That's fine. Do you want to be a piece of that? >> Make sure that you look like a piece of and then make you look like a piece of you can do that. And that's what you're doing right now. Good job. Oh, so these two ladies were like right by it. They said nothing physical happened. Um, he was just being like really like disappointing at people. >> He changed quite fast and it was an explosion, wasn't it? >> I'm so sorry. >> I would think so. profanity. >> Yeah, profanity is um very rude to the staff using his middle finger a lot and every time he's >> jumping around in the seat from one seat to the other right at the beginning was one move one seat and he back. >> Okay. >> All right. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you for coming aboard. I was on a cockpit break. The captains were in the bathroom. I had I couldn't get back there. The girl in the back ran up, separated them, put the one drunk guy up closer, like up to eight se 8C. And this guy, I went back and talked to him. Actually, this guy's the one I put in 8C. I went back to talk to him. I'm like, you know what happened? He's like, this guy was getting him to out in the gate area. People around him said, "Yeah, he's" and you can obviously tell this something's wrong with him. I mean, he reeks of alcohol, but I don't know if there's something else on board. >> The officers are done waiting. With all the information in hand, they decide it's time to take him in. >> Put yourself down, girl. Turn around. >> On your back. >> All right. So, >> can I know what's going on? >> Yeah, you're being arrested right now. >> For what? >> We'll let you know in a second. When I know you'll know. Okay. >> Is it a bad thing? >> Well, getting arrested is usually not a good thing. >> I mean, for what? >> Your perspective. Is what we know. We welcome all customers support 537 G9. Is there like a big crazy reason being arrested? Another officer, he decided that you arrested going to come over here and let you know in a second. >> So, is there a reason that you guys drag me out here? >> Yeah. Your behavior on the airplane? That's the reason you know I wasn't on the plane. >> My behavior on the airplane? >> Yes. >> I wasn't on the plane with you. So, >> you listen to yourself sometimes to myself. >> Yeah. Listen to yourself. >> I hear you. >> I don't want to be out here. >> You said it. Listen to yourself. >> Why' you bring me out here? >> You know why? >> Why? >> For what? >> Officer going to come for you know exactly. >> So you brought me out here for what reason? >> Exactly. As airline staff complete the necessary forms and officers take the victim's statement. The suspect spends his time pushing buttons. Brought me out here for show me around all these people. >> So always a reason. >> You know the reason. >> Tell me. Tell me the reason. You don't know the reason, right? >> You just think you do. >> Um, he's going to get arrested on other charges. >> Okay. >> Do you still want to press charges when I mean kind of what that involves is you guys going to have to come back here? >> I do right. >> Go to court and deal with the state attorney. And I mean, you'd be the victim. So, it'd be all dependent on you and it's a little bit of a process. I don't know if you're willing to go with that. >> The way I feel is like if I don't do anything, you know, they get away with behavior like this. You know what I mean? But >> he's getting something. So, >> okay. Well, good think. >> I can't tell you one way or the other. I'm just telling you what the process is and whether you'd be willing to go through that. >> Could be a year, two years. Depends on how quick it goes through the systems. I know he's got other stuff that I'm getting ready to take him for out of two other counties, two two different other locations. So, he's going to be tied up for a while. Okay. >> Um, that's a federal charge, too. Isn't that right for what it is? >> We're working on that right now. >> Okay. >> That's out of my out of my realm as far as >> um I don't know. >> He's not getting away with anything. So, he's definitely not flying today. >> So, his trip that he was on ended here. >> So, I'm amazed. even let them on the plane and they serve them on top of it if they can smell the alcohol. Pisses me off, but I don't I don't want to blame spirit for it, but >> Well, they they do need to be more aware of that. >> Exactly. Just cause all this trouble. Um >> and I'll mention that to the supervisors there. >> That's the guy, right? That's the jacket, right? >> There's a couple different ones probably. Okay. Yeah, that one. >> They briefed the victim on his options, but the suspect's fate is already sealed. After all, his outstanding warrants guarantee he won't be walking free. >> Um, no. Yeah, it's all right. And I mean, you're right. I have to come back here and you know, all that kind of stuff. I mean, I wanted to do at the beginning. Believe me, I did, but if he's going to jail, anyone with him, >> let me let me put you in touch with >> Okay. >> We thank you for your attention to this important issue. >> Did you guys grab my pads? You get on my bags. >> All right. >> All right. So, uh you guys know the uh uh the uh conduct of uh what is it called? Uh so they can only take me for one warrant. The other warrant is in another county. They can't take me on that. >> Yeah. So, it should only stand for one night. >> So, one >> Yeah. I'd like to >> Yeah. >> When that county picks you up, >> that county, it's literally for driving without a license. >> Okay. Listen. Tell me how it works. Okay. >> I'd like to listen. >> Take care of that warning. >> It's for driving without a license. >> Fine. Then they'll address >> driving without a license. Then they will address the next one. >> And the other ones, what is it? >> It's literally driving without a license again. >> It's not a thing. >> It's driving without a license. Why? >> Sounds like you got nothing to worry about. >> Exactly. So, I'd like to listen to all of you. >> Look forward to seeing more. >> Jesus Christ. >> Can I listen to you? >> Look forward to see you. Dude, can you stop? >> Can you guys stop acting like I'm some crazy criminal? You're >> not. >> So, stop acting like it. >> Listen, dude. >> Listen, look forward. I don't want you to bump into anybody. >> If you think the suspect would stay quiet on his way out, think again. >> See, the thing is that I need to walk. >> Dude, I need you to stop acting like you guys are >> dragging some horrible criminal through the streets. >> We're not, bro. We're just trying to get you outside, >> dude. Oh my god. You know the thing. I >> keep making this more difficult. Okay. >> All right. So, can you stop being like crazy? >> Just keep walking straight. walking with you. >> Yes, sir. I'm not trying to be a warm. >> Okay. So, can you guys talk to me? >> Y got blind. Yeah, but you're being okay. You're being a total you're being But do you not realize that? >> Okay. Are you getting offended because I'm using the word? >> I don't want that to be a thing. I'd like to talk to you like a normal human being. I said, >> are we going downstairs there? You want this little elevator? I'd like to talk to both of you regular people. >> Oh my goodness. I don't want things to be difficult. I would like to go home and I'd like to talk to you guys regularly. >> I don't want things to be crazy. >> I feel like you guys are scared. Look at you. Are you terrified? He just ripped up on me and said, "Why are you terrified? >> Are you jumping? >> You think I'm going to go somewhere?" >> Are you crazy? >> And from here, his behavior and attempt to provoke the officers will only get worse. >> Are you listening to him? >> I said, "I'm scared of you. You gripped up on me. put me in a corner and said, >> "Finish the wall." >> Are you serious, bro? >> Serious? >> I don't know. >> The last thing I want to do is realate on either of you. I would like to figure out where I stand. >> I'm going to explain it to you in just a second. >> Right now, you're standing in another I want to go home, man. I do not like you guys. I want to go home. I hate this. I hate you guys. I want to go home. You guys are going to go home. I want to go home. I want to go home. I just want to go home. [Music] >> Oh man. [Music] I just want to go home, man. I want to talk to my mom. I want to have some food with her. I want to eat. I just want to hang out with my mom and I want to go somewhere. She's right around the corner. That's it. It's only after reality sank in that the waterworks began, but it's far too late to turn things around. >> That's it, man. That helps me go home with my mom right around the corner. And that's it, man. Please, man. Please, just let me go home, man. Please, man. Please, man. She'll she'll she'll grab me while I go home. You guys will never see me again. I promise you. I promise you. I promise you guys, you'll never see me again. I promise you. That's probably zero. My my mom's right there. She's going to come. I got David Hman and my mom Sophina's right here. I promise you guys. While the search turns up clean, his recent behavior is already guaranteed the consequences that follow. Can I just please nothing? >> Did you urinate yourself? >> No, sir. Why are your pants all rusty? >> Oh, I was scared of you guys. I possibly did. >> I would like to just go home. I have to work two weeks. >> I have to be back at the boat. Can you guys please not ruin my life, man? >> I can I can I can promise I can promise you, sir. I can promise you that every like I can promise you that I will have I can promise you on the dot that my job will be rebranded. Can I please promise you that I will take this like can I please take this job? Nothing. It's just me and scaring the me. Nothing. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> Okay. Sit down. My my pants are falling down. >> Hang on. >> Hold on. >> How do you take that bracelet off? >> You just pull it off. >> Sorry. >> Ultimately, he was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and received one day in jail, a year of probation, and court-ordered fines. Number four, how a forgotten item in the pocket turned into a big problem at the airport. This time at Key West International Airport, Monroe County deputies were called after TSA found a man with a loaded gun in his pocket. When asked to explain, the man allegedly grew confrontational and instead of explaining, even challenged them to have him arrested. Here's when the police finally arrived at the scene. >> Valid and clear. He does have a weapons permit. That's valid until March of 2026 and the gun is clear. >> Copy. Uh, put me on that call and I asked them for a case number. Um, this will be a physical. All right, sir. Uh, if you could grab your stuff, please, and come with me. I got some questions that I need to ask you and uh, we'll go from there. Okay. It's It's been scanned and like all of that stuff. No, he would refused to allow. It's been scanned at one point. Um, he has never received the additional pat down where the gun was in the pocket after the gun was found. So, we did not do any additional screening, but he has refused additional screening. >> He said, "We're idiots. He doesn't want to deal with TSA and to arrest him if you need to." >> So, there you go. >> Okay. >> And I'll come and talk to you afterwards. >> Hey, um, are you guys going to Can you do me a favor? If nothing else, I will need pictures of the fire. >> Yes. Set your bag right there for me. >> 11:02. >> And then if you'd like, you can sit down for a minute. Right here. You can leave it open. It's all right. All right, sir. Couple of questions. Um, because this is a crime, I have to read your rights first. Okay. Uh, weapons brought into the airport that are not securely packaged for shipment. uh hard case locks, you know, all of that stuff in luggage that's checked to the airlines. You know what I'm saying? That's that's the way that it's supposed to be. >> With that, the officer starts reading it, Miss Miranda writes. >> Okay. So, >> you have the right to remain silent. >> Anything you say or do can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and hand have him present while you are being questioned. Do you understand? so far. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to you to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise any of these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand? >> I do. >> Okay. Uh do you understand each of these rights as I have explained them to you? >> I do. Have you asked any law enforcement officer or anybody else uh to speak to an attorney? >> No. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me now? >> Sure. >> Okay. So, first question is the obvious question. Why and do you have a gun >> uncased in the airport? >> My lieutenant. >> How we doing, sir? I was doing okay until I up and walked in with my gun in my pocket. >> That's what it boiled down to. >> I walked in with my gun in my pocket that I always have in this pocket. >> We don't We don't judge people. >> I carried forever. I just I was rushing out of the house. I got in an Uber. I got in here. I went in. >> I up. I mean, it's just all there is to it. I >> It's not personal. >> I know that. >> You get to tell all that to the state attorney where >> I know I know what whatever's going to happen is going to happen. I up. I walked in with my weapon. It was loaded. >> I tried to tell him that I would show him how to unload it. >> I figured it out. >> Huh. It's just a pin, >> but you know, it was it got kind of Anyway. >> Okay. >> So, whatever we got to do, we got to do, guys. >> Well, that that's >> I mean, I screwed up and that's what it is. I have a permit to carry it, >> not on federal property. I get it. I I I know I messed up. So, what can we do about it? >> That's what we're trying to figure out. In the US, firearms aren't allowed through airport security checkpoints. While travelers can transport them in check baggage under strict guidelines, unloaded, declared, and locked in a hard-sided case, the man failed to follow any of those rules. The suspect says he had no ill intentions, but that doesn't excuse the way he carried the weapon. >> Uh spoke to the state attorney's office. Uh he went over the statute. Um he he read it in the way that he understands it. It's a general intent kind of crime. It was here. It was on property. It was not securely cased. >> I agree. >> Okay. >> I I when I didn't know it until they said to me, "You have something there." And I went, "Oh my god." Yeah. I I guarantee I didn't take my gun out. And I told him, "I didn't take my gun out. What do you want me to do? Where is it?" I said, "Right there. Don't touch it." Okay. Then I knew I was in trouble. I I knew I mean if I could have turned around and got out of here and did something with it, I would have. >> So the state's attorneys decided this meets the criteria for an arrest. >> Yeah. Then that's >> So am I getting arrested? >> Yes. I I wanted to speak to you and ask and find out because your statements go into our report whether you didn't realize that it was there. You always have it with you and when you walk through, you know, >> I have one in each house. I have a house in Pennsylvania. >> I have a house here. >> I'm too old and too fat to fight and run. So, I carry a piece. I'm licensed for it. I have a permit for it. I just forgot that I had it in my >> Again, we're not judging. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, that's what you have to put in the re report if you can. I mean, if I'm getting if I'm if I'm arrested, I'm arrested. I mean, >> I messed up. There's nothing I can do about that. Uh, as far as travel goes, um, I I I don't know. What are you pr Well, that's all TSA stuff. >> You run into a situation now after this is taken care of. Is that you may or may not be allowed to travel in commercial airlines. That's not our call. That's your That's their call. Okay. Again, it goes federally. >> Okay. >> Well, my family is back up in Pennsylvania. They all got there yesterday. >> Okay. >> I'm supposed to fly in tonight. you're going to be able to call him a little bit. >> Well, when I can call him and tell him. >> The man still appears in disbelief over what's happening, but thankfully he doesn't seem inclined to resist. >> You know, you're telling the truth is it's an honest mistake. We're not here to penalize anybody. We're just here to do our job and this man's going to take you over and process you in. It's just going to be one of those things that I what happens over there happens. Friday. >> Um, as far as your baggage and all of that, do you know if there's anything else in there that we need to know about >> in the middle of what do you mean weapon? Any object? >> Weapons. >> Any anything you got to be checked before it goes over there? >> Ammunition? >> No. >> Okay. >> I carry a gun in my pocket. I forgot. I mean, you know. No, there's nothing else. You can look at everything. Sir, we have this happen two, three times a year here at the airport, but we also have a million people a year travel out. So, that ought to tell you how rare it is. Okay. >> Okay. >> It's a mistake that I'm going to live to re regret, I'm sure. >> Well, let the state attorney, you know, do, you know, their part. They'll look at everything and they'll decide whether or not they're going to move forward. That's all up to them. >> Okay. over here. >> So, you got all of that? Can >> I get my proper drink of water or something? >> Absolutely. Uh you do you have like >> Okay. >> Bad shoulders. Do you have issues, surgeries, or anything like that? You do? >> Yep. I've had both rotator cuffs done. I've had both hips done. I'm getting this done or this knee done in June 15. >> Okay. >> You want to cut it in the front like this? Lay the line off. Put double cuffs on. >> Yeah, it's it's protocol. We have to. >> So, for now, >> I've never had cuffs on in my entire life. >> We We'll go in the front. Okay. >> With the cuffs in place, it's clear there's no turning back. He'll have to accept what comes next. It's amazing. Amazing. Put them too tight for now. And just another question. Have you been drinking? >> Yeah, I've had a few drinks. >> Yeah, they're going they're they're going to ask. On top of that, carry and conceal. You know, you can't drink at all when you have a weapon. >> I'm I'm I'm just letting you know. You know, >> I'll walk proud. Let's go, boys. We're good to go. >> You taking that? >> Uh yeah, this we're going to do this, too, cuz they're going to ask, they're going to check. Nothing else in your pockets, right? and a little bit of you want to open up one of those pockets car keys and ludens and your phone. >> Good to go. >> All right, sir. This way. go up to this SUV right here. >> Never done this either. >> Step down. It's It's a little bit more comfortable than some of the newer cars. So, if you step down, turn towards me, one leg in, and then you'll be able to slide. Additional parking accident. >> In the end, the man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a prohibited area. Number three, woman refused to cooperate with anyone and it didn't end well. On March 25th, 2024, officers responded to the Southwest Airlines ticket counter after reports of a disruptive passenger making a scene. Here's what they walked into upon arrival. I'm not. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. She can't be >> Travis her started getting hot. So, I'm not >> Yeah. Push me out cuz you're all racist. Get me the out of here. >> Where would you like to go? >> Anywhere. >> You want to go to a taxi? >> No. I'm going to sit outside >> and I'm going to go. Y racist. Y don't like black people. >> All right. We're going to go outside. Just >> hi. >> Is it lock? >> Last name. >> Unlock. >> Okie dokie. What's your first name? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? Okay. Miss I don't know. Go outside. >> Yep. >> You got anybody that you can call it? >> No. >> Sure. Don't. Okay. >> No. Don't care. You don't care. >> Well, I'm going to try to help me until you >> help me. You >> Okay. Well, we just met. So, >> yeah. I don't know you. >> I know. So, how you how do you understand racist? >> You're a racist. How? >> And you don't like black people. You only write like Puerto Rican. Get on this out. >> Well, we're going outside here. >> Yeah. Bye. >> And then we're going to talk and then I >> I'm not talking to you. >> Well, the problem is you can't be here intoxicated. >> Well, but I am not intoxicated. >> Oh, you're not. >> That's what you think. >> Okay. >> Y'all want to lock me up? >> No. Really? Honestly, don't want him. >> We don't want to. We're here. Guess what? I met locked up before. >> No, we don't want to lock you up. >> Get the away from me. Like, bye. You're racist. You're white. >> Not you. >> Okay. >> Bye. >> No. That's how this works. >> So, how about you and I talk? How do you >> I'm not talking to you. >> No, hold on. >> You're on his side. >> Not really. I just want to get you a ride out of here. >> Get off of me. >> I'm just going to lock this so you don't roll away. Despite the woman's behavior, officers are willing to deescalate and let her leave without incident. But she has other plans. >> How can we Can we get you an Uber or a lift or a taxi? >> I'm not going nowhere. I will go until I find my flight. I paid $400. >> $354. I know that's a lot of money with >> And none of y'all ain't going to reimburse me. >> Well, they reimburse this Yeah, they reimburse you. So, here's what we're going to do, Miss Young. >> How about you get a ride? >> I don't have a ride. >> Okay. Do you have Uber or Lift? No. >> Or a taxi? >> You want lock me up? >> Lock me up. >> Why? >> Cuz y'all that's what y'all want to do? >> No, we really don't. >> Lock, >> sweetheart. No. Don't take after me cuz you already know what I'm dealing with. I'm a black. >> Lock me up. >> I don't want to lock you up. >> Do it. I'm not going to. >> Okay. Come in here. >> I don't want to. >> I have been locked up before. >> I don't want to. Why do you want to get locked up? Then you really miss your flight home. >> I'm not. I don't give a about that. I got lawyers. >> Okay. >> And I know what discrimination is. Lock me up. >> You want to get right here? You want to get out here? >> This is your refund from Southwest. Okay. >> I'm not picking it up. And y'all can stand around me without the help. >> Where you from? >> Where you from? >> I'm from where they rac where Philly cops don't with people. >> Okay. >> The plan is to send her home with someone else, but the woman's escalating behavior makes that increasingly difficult. >> Can I call? No, you're good. Call who you need. >> No, call my sister cuz y'all think I'm one. >> Is your sister local? >> No, she really Okay. >> Yeah. >> What's your sister's first name? >> I don't know. >> Take me home. >> Where? >> I could go to Philly where the cops don't give a about us. >> Can Okay, it's officer. I'll lock me up. >> You don't want to lock you up. Can you stop screaming? >> Let's Let's Hold on. >> Great. Just Just stop. >> Here you come. >> You want to vent? >> Cuz I know what y'all are doing. >> Your sister's asking if you want to go home. >> I lock me up. >> Yeah. And and and embarrass the frame. All I want you to do is stop yelling. >> Lock me up. Lock me up. >> Lock me up. See, you're a man. You can't do this. >> Okay. Put your hands up. >> Lock me. >> Put your hands behind me. >> I want sister. They locked me up and I priced it. >> Can you sit back down on the wheelchair for right now? >> You got me so tight. >> Okay, you're right here. You're good. >> No, >> I got my fingers right there. >> I'm not good. >> Hurt. >> You're good. See, >> it's not hurt. That's not good. >> You're good right there. Look, if I can. >> All right, come sit. >> No, I can't cuz my hands hurt. How do they hurt? >> Okay, >> I said they hurt. They hurt. >> Okay, >> I'll readjust them. >> The cuffs are finally on, but the complaints continue.
