These teens were looking for a thrill, but they ended up finding handcuffs instead. Here are five cases when dumb teen shoplifterss have a meltdown after getting caught. Number five, shoplifting from Sephora turns into a lesson these teens won't forget. Our first case takes us to Kohl's on April 10th, 2025, where a shoplifting call has officers racing to the scene. By the time they arrived, the suspects are already in the parking lot seconds from fleeing. But the officers cut them off before they could leave. >> And I was going to buy a concealer and then I was opening to try my on my hand. And then she was like, "Oh, are you going to take?" And I'm like, "No, I'm not going to take it." So then she started assuming that I was like going to steal the stuff from Sephora. So then I went up to one of the workers from there and I gave her the concealer and I was like, "Look, like so you could know I'm not taking anything." And then I just left the store. >> Okay. cuz she's like saying that you guys took like necklaces and makeup and >> No, we we didn't even get through like the actual >> We actually told her and she didn't say anything. >> She didn't say anything. She said she was like, "Sorry about my coworker's actions." And I was like, "No, you just need to make sure that Dana making it like seem like we're trying to steal anything." >> Yeah. >> You know, so that's why I I gave her like the concealer back and she took it back. You couldn't even go and ask her. I gave her the concealer and it was like this spray sanitizer thing. I just gave it back to her and she just took it back. So, you never gave you never took anything? >> Oh, no. We went to other like we went to an Ulta, but we bought the stuff there and everything. They see me buy everything. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Do you mind saying that? I'm going to go talk to Okay. >> Can you stop digging your bag? >> She's looking for her phone. >> Okay. I don't want her digging in her bag. I don't know. >> You can literally open the door if you want. I don't care. >> No, I'm just being honest. Like if you want to look >> I'm not going to go searching through your car, but I don't >> I need a warrant if you're going to look at my car. But >> I didn't say Okay, first of all, I'm not going to do the attitude. I'm not going to have her sitting here digging her bag when I don't know what's in the car. Got it. >> Well, I'm telling you. Okay. I'm telling you. >> I'm telling you I don't care what she's looking for. I don't want her digging her bag when I don't know what's in the car. >> So, lose the attitude. Thank you. >> I'm just like feel like I'm being targeted. But if you want >> Why are you being targeted? Because I asked her to stop digging through her bag >> and I told you why she was digging through her bag. >> Okay. And I'm telling you, I don't care cuz I don't know what's in the I apologize. I apologize. >> I'm not giving energy. It's just the fact that she's like, "Oh, hey." Like, you know, like I understand why. >> Okay. >> I just don't understand. >> Okay. Nobody's targeting you. We got called here because you guys were allegedly doing something. That's why we're here. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> No, we understand. >> We understand. >> Yeah, we understand. >> They're quick to say they get it. But the more they speak, the more obvious it is they're trying to dodge accountability. And now that the officers want answers, they're making it up as they go. >> Did they tell you what's going on? >> I'm like really confused cuz we went to Sephora and I was getting stuff and I they even give me a little bag. And then after like the a girl like I seen that she was like walking around behind me. So then I went up to her and I was like here like I'm not going to take this just to make sure cuz I feel like you're thinking that I'm going to steal it. So I gave it back to her. She was like thank you so much for giving it back to And I was like, "Just tell your co-workers to not make it seem to customers that come in making it seem like they're stealing or something cuz they're not going to want to come back." And I gave her the concealer and the little spray back and she just said, "Thank you so much. I will talk to my coworkers." And she just went back inside >> and then we came to the car. So I'm like, I'm confused. I'm like, I don't know. I didn't take anything. I gave it back to her. It was a concealer and a little spray. >> Was it in Sephora or was it outside? >> It was in Sephora. >> It was inside. >> Yeah, it was in Sephora. We left because we felt like we were just like >> Yeah, we just left cuz I was like it it was like I mean >> me as like a Mexican girl, she was a white girl so I felt some type of way cuz she was just walking behind us all the time and I was like usually when I go to stores like nobody's like looking at what I'm doing and I was like I told her I was like here like if you think I'm going to steal the concealer here's the concealer and here's the spray. And I gave it to her in her hands and she just walked back out. She was like, "Okay, thank you. I will talk to my co-workers about it." And I was like, "Okay, >> okay." >> I think at this point they're just going to check cameras to make sure that the everything's legit. >> Yeah. >> But appreciate you cooperating. >> No. Yeah, it's good. >> I would have asked you guys if we're supposed to be in school. You look young. >> I mean, she's supposed to be at work. Um, I'm currently working, too. >> So, you're not in school? >> No, we just graduated recently. >> Oh, that's good. Yeah. >> Can I talk to you? >> Yeah. Can you step out with your purse? I'll talk to here. So, I just saw video surveillance. >> So, do you want to tell me what you took? >> The officers make it clear that the games are over. That's when the teens finally let go of the act and begin to show signs of honesty. can figure out. >> All right. So, here's the thing like with they want to second. [Music] >> How long am I going to be arrested? >> Um, it just depends. Is there anything in your pocket that belongs to cold sharp knives, weapons, anything? >> 122 23. >> I just got my Oh, perfect. It's just a little pouch. It looks a little broken. I don't know why I fixed it. >> Is there anything else in your clothes that I'm going to find right now? >> I just got my B and then I don't know what I got. >> No other purses are going to pop up. >> I think I just got like a couple things that my friend gave me. >> What else is in this front right pocket? I got my vape. >> The vape is right there. I >> got two vapes. >> Okay. Who's there? >> Is that yours or is that holes? >> There's mine. >> That didn't fall off of this. >> Whatever. probably. >> All right. Can you step out so I can talk to you? >> Yes. >> All right. So, other than you putting that in your bra, >> what else did you take? >> All right. I'm going to show it to you. So, put your hands right here. Just put your phone down. >> Now, in custody, the girls show little sign of remorse and even less understanding of just how serious this offense is. >> Turn around. You don't have anything else, >> correct? >> Okay. >> How did your friend get that? >> What? >> How did she get that when it was in your shirt? >> She got No, she got one >> and you got the other one. Where'd you put the other one at? >> I'm be real with you. I'm be honest. >> Okay. There's nothing else. >> There's nothing else. I didn't take anything else. All right. Put your hands behind your back. The watch is yours, >> huh? >> The watch is yours. >> Yeah, you'll take your phone. Come to the back. All right, turn this way. All right, spread your feet. What's this? Is that like a vape? >> Yeah. >> Just going to put this right here. >> So, other than that, nothing. Nothing. I'm not like not like your friend. We're not going to start finding like random stuff everywhere. >> Okay. No. No. Find random stuff. Okay. >> And now we get to the third suspect who just like the others doesn't seem too concerned about getting caught shoplifting. Am I switching with me? >> Okay. Can you step out? >> Yeah. >> All right. Um, pockets. Yeah. >> The jewelry. >> I just have this one. >> Okay. Anything else? >> No, that's it. >> Okay. All right. Put your hands this way or lean up against the car. All right. Show your feet. There's nothing sharp in your um pants in your pockets. All right. >> Wait. Can I please? So you with retail theft um they're sign codes of signing complaints. >> So with that what we do is you go down to our station get fingerprint photographs you get released on a mentally and get a >> Could I um come back for like my stuff >> you want to come back for your car? You were going to get banned from the store. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> In the end all three teens were issued retail theft charges and permanently banned from the store. Number four. when you're a bad mother, a bad liar, and a bad citizen. On July 18th, 2025, officers responded to a Burlington coat factory after reports of a shoplifting involving an adult woman and two teens. By the time they arrived, the suspect was already on the run, but officers were right behind them. >> OH. >> GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> COME HERE. COME HERE. >> Come here. GET ON THE GROUND. >> SO, there's a black female, blue over blue, heading towards the Target parking lot. >> Come here. Come here. >> You You're not going to need this. You're not going to need this. >> I'm going to put it in my in my pocket. Hey, >> we're not going to leave this. >> Here, get in the car. Come on. >> Okay. Come on. I want to see. >> You already did. >> Get in the car. >> 20 charges. >> Hey, D. >> It's going to be 65. Get out in the car. I'm trying to >> put your hands on her. >> Black female, black over black, and another black female, green over black. >> All right. What's the girl? What's the girl's name? >> I don't really know her name. I just know her name is Sh. >> Of course not. Of course not. >> Because, you know, towards the register. >> All right. So, I just want to confirm that you want to press charges for it cuz they walked out the store carrying all of this stuff. They dropped it as soon as they saw me. >> Sure. >> Okay. Uh The two teenagers were quickly detained, leaving officers to chase down the adult woman. She tried to get away, but the officers weren't about to let her slip past. >> Miss, >> why are you out of breath? >> You, >> sir? Huh? >> What' you say? >> Why are you out of breath? >> I just came from >> Are you at the Burlington, >> sir? I'm sorry. We have >> Are you at the Burlington? >> I did go in there. Huh? >> I said I did go in there. >> Hey, were you with anybody at Burlington? >> Huh? >> Were you with anybody at Burlington? >> No. >> Why are you out of breath in over here? >> Because I came from over there. >> When I was at the store with I was in and I seen the police up and he said, "Hey, start running." Those other two girls went to run it that way. And I ran this way. >> My car. Can y'all walk? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Miss, can you come over here and sit down? Just sit down for a second. Just for one second until I confirm everything. >> Is that your bag? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's your name? >> Mhm. >> Okay. What's your last name? All right, ma'am. Uh, so you >> ma'am? >> Yes. >> All right. So, I'm going to talk to you now. This is your opportunity >> to clear some things up. Okay. Yes, sir. >> I'm going to read you your rights, though. Okay. Well, yeah. I'm going have to read your rights as formality before I can actually talk to you. Um, you got any questions? Who are they to you? >> They're nothing. >> Huh? >> No. >> They're family. >> No family. >> Just friends? >> They look like minors. How How do you friends with minors? How old are they? >> I'm not friends with minors. are the girls that were with you. >> I wasn't with them. I was with the one with the um white shirt. >> I wasn't with them and I walked out. >> So, who's the girl with the white shirt? >> It's a boy. >> Officers begin to question her about who she was with at Burlington. Before the chase, it was clear she was with the two teens. But now face to face with the officers, her story starts to change. >> I saw three girls. >> It's a boy. They look like a boy in a white shirt. I saw three girls. So >> I wasn't with them. I was with a boy. He's a >> All right. Who I was with. >> All right. So just take take a take a seat. So obviously I saw y'all doing what you were doing. This is your opportunity. This is your opportunity to tell me your side of the story. Okay. All right. I'm going to do that. >> All right. What happened today? >> Um Okay. I came in to Burn um to look for uniforms. >> For For who? >> For myself. >> Yourself? >> Yes. >> Uniforms for what? >> For my children. >> Okay. How old are your kids? >> Um I have a 13-year-old, seven, uh five, and four. >> Where are they at right now? Wait, my god. My god. >> You got five kids? >> Four. >> You got four kids? All right. All right. So, Miss Williams, what happened? So, I understand why you here. You came here to look for uniforms. >> Yeah. >> What happened next? >> Um, I was in here. I came with um a guy friend that stays in the neighborhood where I'm at. And we all came in beside the store and um he walked out before us. Mhm. They walked out before us and um when those two ladies came out, I came out with them and when you said hey, I took our money. >> They stopped. But you didn't stop. >> No. >> All right. Why didn't you stop? >> Because you said hey. >> All right. You thought you were not runners? >> No, I knew I couldn't. >> Just gave it a shot. >> Yeah. Okay. Well, you get a a for effort, right? Uh >> what did you take what what did you have with you when you came out the store? >> Um I didn't have nothing. I helped her. I helped one of the young ladies get the bag out, >> but I didn't have >> The officers try to confirm what kind of bag she had inside the store. But instead of answering, she jumps straight into denying that she stole anything. >> No, >> the guest bag, right? >> Oh, there was nothing in my bag. Okay. >> Nothing but my cell phone. Your >> cell phone? >> Yes. >> Okay. So So you So you didn't take you didn't take anything? >> No, sir. >> I just helped her get the bag out. I did the bag. >> You know you're an adult, right? >> Yes, sir. >> So you had no intent to deprive that store of any merchandise? >> I didn't go. And be honest with you, I didn't go in that store to do that. You get what I'm saying? >> I just went in. We went in to look, you know what I'm saying? See if they had uniform. They didn't have uniforms in my kids size. If they did, yes, I would have took. Yes. I'm not even lying. >> Okay. But they had nothing that you wanted. >> No, I didn't. Not Not for my kids. >> So, all the merchants So, all the merchandise that we recovered, none of that was stolen by you. >> No, I just helped him get it out of the store. >> So, what did you help him take out the store? >> Um, the bag. I helped him push the bag out of the store. A bag. A bag. What type of bag? Describe the bag. >> Um, I just saw it was black. I don't remember. >> It was a backpack. >> Um, what is it? Like a tote bag or something. >> I don't remember. I know it was black and something, but I don't exactly. >> Black and gold maybe. >> I think so. >> Guess. Not sure. I don't know. >> Okay. So, you're 35, >> Elijah is 18, >> and Phoebe is 15 years old. >> I didn't know their age. >> Okay. How do you know them? >> I in the neighborhood. >> What neighborhood? >> Up there in Lauderdale. >> So, Nigel and Phoebe live in Lauder Hill. >> No, that's where that's where they hang at. But they live up here. >> I don't know where they live at either. I swear to God, I don't know where they >> She bolted the moment she saw the police and was clearly with the teens earlier. But even now, she's still pretending she had nothing to do with it. >> So, you just know him from around the way? >> Yes. >> All right. >> I don't know what this is. >> All right. Do you know their parents? >> No. >> I don't. Honestly, I don't. >> You got their phone numbers? >> No, I don't. So, y'all didn't have a conversation on the phone? >> No. >> You lying to me? >> I'm serious. I don't. >> All right. So, I'm >> I can You can get my phone call. My law. >> I'm going to look through the phone records. >> Yeah. >> So, I didn't have a conversation on the phone. >> No. >> How did you guys end up here at the same time? >> Because we wrote in the car with my guy friend, the one I was telling you about. >> We all rolled together. >> Yes. Um, >> so what made you come to the store with two girls half your age? What's what's the >> I'm trying to I'm trying to understand how that works. >> First of all, I didn't know we in the neighborhood. I didn't know their ages. I just know of them and seeing them when we all used to live in the same complex in Lville. >> Okay. That's it. >> Now here in Palm Beach County. >> Yes. >> Do you often go places with girls speak of children? I didn't know their age. I just know that we all live in the same complex. And I seen her mother, but I don't know her mother's name. You get what I'm saying? When we all used to go to the pools and stuff like that, I didn't I never seen I seen their mama like a couple of times, but not physically to have a conversation. >> So, you're acquainted with the kids, but not their parents. >> I know her parents when I see, hey, how you doing? You get what I'm saying? But it's not >> purple. Not the one I have. I'm close close out to you. I appreciate you. >> Okay. >> Yeah, but um I know the mom from the complex that we lived in in Lauder Hill, but I don't physically like like, "Hey, what's up?" Like, you get what I'm saying? I don't know them like that. But I just know that we all >> At this point, her story is crumbling. She can't answer basic questions and the longer she talks, the more unbelievable her answers get. So y'all all of y'all rolled from Lauder Lauderdale. >> Fort Lauderdale. >> Fort Lauderdale. >> Yes. >> All of y'all rolled from Fort Lauderdale to here in a car together. >> Yes. >> What made you drive across two two counties over to come to Burlington? What What made you do that? >> I didn't drive. >> I'm sorry. What made you guys travel across county lines to Burlington Coacway through Palm Beach County? >> Well, what made y'all do that? Well, first of all, the the guy friend punk friend came up here to see someone >> and while they was up here seeing someone, they was like, "Y'all want to go to the store?" So, I said yes. >> Who did the the punk friend, as you described, come to see? >> Uh, one of his male friends and I just sat in the back seat. >> So, you know Phoebe's 15, right? >> I didn't know. >> All right. >> I promise you I didn't know. It's very obvious that she's a minor. She's not an adult, right? >> What is >> It's very obvious by looking at Phoebe. You can tell she's a child that she's not over 18, right? >> I mean, I >> She looks like a kid, right? >> I didn't know. I'm just They actually >> So, you have kids of your own? You got four of them? >> Yes, sir. >> But you didn't recognize Phoebe was also a child? >> No, we just got in the car. >> So, you thought she was an adult, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All they all look grown and big over there in the in the project. Okay. Okay. >> Honestly, yeah. I known them for >> That's just is very strange coming from a mom before, but Okay. So, you get into nefarious things with with children. >> I guess now that I know that they're children, I didn't know that. You know what I'm saying? I thought they was up in age, but my around my age. >> She offers a different version of events, but the officers have already seen enough. The interview ends with the understanding that she involved her children in a shoplifting scheme. Now, >> some of this just seems unbelievable. I'm not going to lie to you. >> So, you just help them take stuff out. You You stole nothing. My bad. >> They their their criminal records are clean. >> All right. They never been so much as detained before, let alone arrested. >> All right. >> I have. But they came to the store with you and you need to tell me they the only ones that stole something. You didn't steal nothing, right? >> I helped them get it out because what I needed wasn't in the store. >> If it was in there, yes, I'm not lying. I would have put it in my bag. >> Okay. I appreciate you partnering with me. Do you swear from that everything you say the truth? So, I'll be >> Yes. >> This concludes this interview. The time >> in the end, the woman was the only one held accountable. She was charged with shoplifting and with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Number three, 19-year-old finds out running from police never ends well. On May 31st, 2023, officers responded to a neighborhood after getting a tip about a teenager with an active warrant. What follows is a short but intense chase. >> Come here. Still not here. >> Get on the ground right now. >> Get on the ground. >> What the hell, bro? I got a tattoo, bro. >> Okay. Yep. >> Almost made it. >> This chick came good, >> bro. Can I call my mom, bro? >> How old are you? >> I'm a minor. Y'all swimming on the ground. >> Be tapping up the handle. >> All right. Bro, I got my phone. No, bro. I don't got Bro, >> why you running? >> Cuz what y'all chasing me for? Like, what the >> question is why you running? >> I ain't I ain't got through all my bro. I ain't got >> Thank you. >> Bro, can I get my phone back in my pocket? >> No, not right now, >> bro. >> That's jail for my tattoo, bro. >> Somebody checking that. >> Yeah, they're over there right now. Hold on. with somebody across the street or what? >> Oh, no. G, I'm not doing nothing. I'm walking to the store. >> You got jump the fence. >> Cuz this the fastest way. >> Like, gang, >> I tell you to stop and you try and >> Cuz I'm scared of y'all. Look how you just damn me, gang. I'm scared of y'all. Like, what the The moment he saw the officers, the 19-year-old took off, but he didn't make it far. And by fleeing, he only added to his list of problems. >> Were you uh wearing the ski goggles? You wear these to the store? All right, cool. >> Is there a snowboard back here somewhere? >> I got a snowboard. Y >> where you stay at >> right there. We all just Well, can you tell me to what's uh what's your birthday, man? >> 2005. >> Yes. >> So, that makes you >> seen you a few times tonight. It's almost like we have the same uh >> What's your first name? [Music] >> Can I Can I walk home? Like I can't walk home myself. Like >> I don't even initial. I don't know. I don't even want to dumb you off game. What you want to do? >> I can't get my phone. >> You get it back once we get you home. >> You want to get what? >> Home. >> I don't want to go home. >> How they were? >> I can't go home right now. I mean, my OG, can I just go to my dad house? >> Where's dad at? >> It's right around the corner that way. >> Is that where you was going? He was going to the store, >> bro. Y ain't a fair J. Come on. >> The only one that did that was you. >> Y'all put a fire going on me. >> You know what happens to not get those shoes all up. >> Still trying to justify what happened. The man accuses the officers of being too rough. But they're quick to point out that his actions brought this on himself. That's easy. >> You didn't see them other police, did you? I don't know. >> The shoes cost $59. >> Yeah, >> I know. I put them in my closet. >> I don't even wear them. >> These cost 180. I don't know. You dump a pistol out here or anything? >> Oh, you dump a gun or anything out here? >> No, I don't even do that type of stuff. I just be getting some money mind. >> We just don't want some kid. >> Yeah, I don't do nothing like that. I don't need no gun. >> I'm going to plead to your conscience. All right. Watch them shoes, bro. >> Are you wearing beode shorts? Those kind of tight. No leg. >> What's this kid's name? >> Isaiah. >> What did he do? >> He ran. >> Yeah. >> The OP violation is what the call originally came in as. >> Yeah. >> Uh and then they were saying on his that he was going to run cuz he's done it before. So that's the only reason there was much of us right there. >> Yeah. >> I come down car running across. >> I was I wasn't 2014. I came here and he wanted to get over that fence. So I >> I had that first stolen lost it on the interstate 100 milesPH then they you guys picked up the other stolen. >> That's who. >> Boo. >> Boo. >> That's it. >> It's not the name that you gave. >> No, it's the name that's on the screen though. >> Oh, is it? Is it? So, >> what's his nickname? >> Corvin or something? Swerv >> swerving. Corvin, >> I'm gonna make the sergeant come and do a UF. >> Now that they've realized the man provided a false name, the officers have no choice but to hold off. They need to confirm who he actually is before proceeding. >> Or is that considered a level two? >> What are you doing? >> I think it's just report. Not taking the ground. >> I mean, was he already falling? You just kept him from falling hard. >> You're so stupid. >> I don't want him to hurt himself. >> Easy, easy. >> That's at least scores at least eight points, >> right? I have no idea. >> He said he's a minor and so across Pennsylvania. >> I was still I kept getting bonked and I'm like the minute he passed >> I'm going through the motions. Well, no, they cuz they were following us. They were just driving along and I can see them looking back. I'm like, this is weird. And for the first four blocks, they didn't pick up speed until at like California. >> The best thing we can do is >> if they do that, they're going to wait for us to turn the lights on for >> Can you rub that cream on here, please? Just a little just just >> the one on your thumb. >> It's right here. Yeah. >> You want to treat his tattoo right quick? >> Look, I'm going to step right here. >> Wait, what's up? gun attack injury. >> Despite the officer's repeated request, the 19-year-old keeps putting up a front. The suspect keeps delaying the process with silence and refusing to confirm even basic details. Is that what you want to do? >> Is that what you want? >> You want to sit out the jail? >> You want to sit at the jail? >> Tell us your Tell us your name, dude. >> I saw you running, man. >> I went right. >> That looks exhausting. >> I almost stopped like you want to ride. What's the last name? if he doubles back >> even after you like I'm >> like no way >> what is your last name dude >> like it's not going to at this point what did he say to your neck >> she has on her own >> and that's just telling me it's in there >> just put that down and then uh the paperwork put for positive ID Yes. >> It's all good. >> Done. >> I'll do a quick sub for you. >> What do you need? >> All right. >> I'm telling you, if you didn't, if your pants weren't so tight, you would have had them. >> I was going to drive up that. >> I almost did, too. There was no point driving the last 20 ft. That's that didn't pull up. He was gone, dude. >> Cuz I didn't jump fast. >> Well, I was sitting out there and I saw him run up to the fence. I'm like, I'm going to risk coming cuz I was waiting on Garrett for him. Not that I would him anyway. I was hoping after this. He's tired. Yeah, she's too. >> By dragging things out and refusing to cooperate, the teen earned himself charges for both resisting arrest and obstructing identification. Number two, when running from the police made a bad situation even worse. On May 14th, 2024, officers in Florida were dispatched to a Target after reports of shoplifterss came in. By the time they arrived, the suspects were already fleeing, triggering a foot chase that spanned across the parking lot. >> Stop. >> Where they go? >> Over. Over. [Music] >> Which one? >> Overfield talk on the radio. What do you have? >> Hang on. I got Overfield with one here. >> I said let me get >> Stop. >> Stop resisting. Put your hands behind your back. >> Hey, this car here. Is there anybody in that car? >> I don't know. >> I don't know where the other get on the ground. Get on the ground. I'm giving you an order. Get on the ground. Belly down. Where's your friend? >> Go to him. I got it. Go to him. Pick me up. [Applause] >> In between cars near your center line. >> I ain't going outside. >> All right. You can just walk over there. >> Overfield. >> Walk over. >> Okay. [Music] It was like a short Bravo mic or Bravo Fox perhaps. >> That red Hyundai. That burgundy Hyundai. They're coming out pretty fast. >> Can I get my shoes, please? >> Where they at? >> Yep. The most surprising part, every one of the suspects is a teenager accused of stealing nearly $2,000 and attempting to outrun the law. >> Can you get her shoes? >> No, that's fine. >> What? >> Later. You want to run from the police? I'm going to give you no shoes. >> Hey, keep her there. Keep her there. Keep her there. >> Nope. Stay right here. >> Okay. Do you have anything sharp on you? How tall are you? >> 18. >> 18. Okay. Is that your phone? All right. >> Look, sir. >> Can I explain? >> You can sit her down. >> You can go ahead and sit down. >> I don't want to sit down. >> No, you are going to sit down. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Like this. >> Yep. >> And cross your feet all the way down. Put your feet in. As far as I know, we have two out of the three secured in cuffs within eyesight of me. [Music] >> Get out of the car. >> How hard is this? >> Get out. Stop. Stop. Hey, >> relax. >> I'm not doing [Music] 45. >> The parking garage. >> All right. Going to head you back up. We're going to go over there. >> I don't even know how to and start. >> She attempts to make a request, but after everything she just pulled, the officers aren't exactly feeling generous. >> Can I get my shoes? They're right there. >> Sit down. Okay. >> And cross your feet. >> Yes, sir. >> That's one right there. >> Is that one? >> Sure. The one with the pink uh pink hair. >> Okay. >> Scan everything. Get your >> hang on. Go back to the LP office. >> What do you So LP is actually on the floor. So these two are positively identified. >> Forward against the car. Lean forward against the car. Do it now or you're resisting and you'll get a >> because she's searching you. >> My head though. Like she going to pull the whole thing off. >> That's right. >> Yes. People put all the time. >> I did it though. Like you She literally snatched >> you crazy. Can you see under it? >> There we go. >> Thank you. >> No, >> nothing. >> Just a bobby pin. >> Just a bobby pin. >> Oh, you success. >> Yep. Let me just um try to just pull it down, sir. >> What? >> My hair. >> Your hair? >> Yeah. >> Just leave it like that. >> It's hot. Hair, hair, hair. I'm sorry. You did ask me to move your hair out of your face. >> Tie it. >> Tie it. >> Take a little >> your hair. I don't I don't think I know how to do that. >> No, like tie it like a tying up. >> Can I like twist it? >> Or you can just pull it all up. >> Girl, you telling me stuff I don't know how to do. Come on now. >> Just wrap it all up. Is this good or do you want it behind you? No. >> Huh? >> Can you just take the handcuffs off so I can do it, please? I'm all right. >> No. >> The officer shuts that down, reminding the woman that what she's facing now is the result of her own behavior. >> I said, "Listen, I believe you now, but it's still no because you're struggling with the other officer when I came up here." >> No. >> And I get it. You want to get Listen, I get it. You want to get away, but it it's a little late when like you got 10 cop cars showing up. I know it's not. >> It's not a gun. Keep your feet crossed. >> My bad. >> It's broke. >> Okay. >> Trying to turn it off. >> Yep. >> No, don't turn. >> Save some battery. >> No, I'm not. >> You can't communicate on it. >> I'm not. Just put it down. >> You watch it. >> We'll do the paperwork downstairs. Well, no. for y'all taking us to jail. >> Uh, most likely. >> You have any idea how much you stole? >> We stealing. I ain't mad. >> You go get my shoes. No, he gone. >> I got to stay with you. But we'll get your shoes. Don't worry. Before Before we go anywhere, you're getting your shoes. Okay. >> Okay. >> Where's your office? >> He'll be in the office. >> Like of this wall >> down there. Yeah. I'm going to grab the You know what? I'm going to grab that car on the way so no one else no one here grabs the thingy and puts it back and then I'll bring it in the office. >> All right. What's going on? >> All the items. I'll do all the paperwork for you. >> Search my car. >> I'm doing what's called a visual inspection. That's open to the public. I'm not searching your vehicle. >> I'm just asking trying to make sure. I'm going to go get the truck and bring the truck up. >> That way we can at least have them sitting in a car. >> So finally, I'm going to go and tell you what you telling me. >> That's what it's going to look like. >> The situation is under control and now the officers are simply waiting on paperwork and transport before proceeding. It's 95 in there. So, we'll wait for the show up. [Applause] >> What's that? >> What does it show up? >> I don't know. What does it show up? >> What' you say? We lo >> I don't know. Why do we talk codes? >> What? >> Huh? >> What' you say? >> What did you say? >> Please call my grandma. >> How old are you? >> 23. >> You're 23? You'll be able to call if it goes towards the arrest route. You'll be able to call when you get to a jail. Okay. >> She's 23. >> How old is she? >> 18. >> Are you related to her friend? >> That's my cousin right there. >> Another girl. That's her friend. >> Okay. We're going to stand up. Okay. >> I know it's hot here. So, we're going to sit in the truck. Do you have any pockets? >> No, I don't got no pockets. >> Okay. >> And just make sure seat belts on. >> Yeah. I got it. >> You want to get my shoes now? >> Yeah, I won't get your shoes. >> Okay. Oh, deeper. >> Get you somewhat out of the heat. >> Any pocket on? Okay, >> I'm going to go get her shoes. They're right there. >> Okay, that's awfully nice of you. All right. >> Why you dragging me? >> I'm not dragging you, bro. I'm just walking around too fast. >> I'm so security. See, you're walking. Come on, man. Come on. Come on. Chill out. You acting too much. Doing too much. >> Yeah, no problem. >> You have an idea. Anybody a chance? Do you have the ID? >> Do you have an ID? >> What' you say? >> Oh, we're going to play that game. >> Yeah. >> As the suspects are transported to the station, one officer returns to the store alongside the Target employee to help wrap up the report. >> You can take a seat. Fox 45 alpha. Hey quarters, if you could time stamp this, we're starting the show up. Who has the third person in the Where you at? >> We're behind flippers. >> Five turn 45 to Quas. We're behind flippers. >> Behind flippers. [Music] Put those right. [Music] Stop. >> Bro, did you not see what she doing? >> I'm seeing you do it. >> Me? >> You're starting. Yes. You're You keep pulling away from her. >> I can look. These are my eyes. She just said, >> "Yeah, but you can't do that though." >> I can't look. >> You can't pull away like that. >> Why did she do that? >> She didn't do it. That's >> what >> Say it again. >> 104. >> All right. Put her in a car. [Music] >> Yeah. My car. >> What? >> Yeah. Yeah. Eventually. >> Yeah. [Music] Where's um where would Wilkins be at? >> Uh do you don't know? >> Target. >> Target. >> During the ride to the station, the suspects begin asking more questions, perhaps hoping for answers they won't like. >> Are you asking me a question? What's the question? I'm sorry, I just can't hear you. The merchandise is the shopping cart that you guys left and ran away from. >> Yep. He wants to press charges and uh he's going to scan and I'll send you the uh amount in a little bit. >> And you have to take a picture of their faces. >> Say it again. >> I take a picture of their faces at least the ones in the garage if possible. If they're already at the jail, it's fine. But >> we can print you a mug shot of them. Is that Is that okay? >> Yeah. It's just saying that if he could get a copy of the mug shot of all three >> here, lean back cuz I got a There you go. >> So, >> Oh, no. It's not that. I just always forget because it's it doesn't click to the front. So, How much worth today? >> Uh $1,900. You >> love a little over that. >> Let me see. >> The total value of the stolen items reached $1,92952 before tax. In court, full suspects entered noo contender please and were sentenced to probation ranging from 12 to 24 months. Number one, teenager couldn't stop shoplifting and finally got caught. Our final case takes place in Flaggler County, Florida, where officers were called to a target after loss prevention detained an 18-year-old caught shoplifting. Here's what happened next. >> Thank you. >> Um, Miss Nina here did not have to pay for this bracelet set here. >> $12.99. Um, she does have her ID on her, but >> Okay. >> Um, yeah, she has stolen from here before, so today we caught it and we're going to prosecute today. >> Okay. >> Little trespass. >> Is she an adult? >> Yeah, she's 18. >> You got your license on you? Appreciate it. >> Echo 226 teletype. >> Mrs. Janine, I'm going to read you your rights. Okay. You have the right to remain silent in anything you say maybe uses evidence against you. You have the right to talk to an attorney and have him or her with you now or at any time during questioning. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed to represent you. But anytime you wish to stop talking or have an attorney present, all question will be stopped at your request. You understand these rights? Echo 226 flag. Okay. With that being said, obviously they called us. Um they state this is not your first time shoplifting. Yeah. >> This is your first time? >> That's not >> I'm I'm asking you like just be straight up like have you shoplifted from this Target before? >> No. >> No. >> So you live in Sanford? >> What were you doing in Palm Coast? >> Um I have family here. >> Okay. So you came to visit your family? >> My sister. Where does your sister live? >> In Orman. >> An Orman. >> It's like you used to live on St. Andrew's Court and that's where you don't live anymore. >> Reports say the suspect purchased snacks, but also took bracelets and another accessory without paying. It may have seemed small enough to slip by, but it didn't. >> Okay. Um, >> did you buy anything else while you were here? >> Yeah, Pop-Tarts. >> Just Pop-Tarts. in this safe. >> Have you ever been arrested before? >> No. >> Who do you live with? >> Um, my >> Where are your parents? Were they in the picture? You talk to your parents at all? >> Yeah, but they're in Georgia. >> Okay. >> No, she's 18. >> You're 18, right? I have to take a math. >> Are you 18? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Only reason I'm asking that is because there's a difference in how we go about if you're juvenile. I would be trying to get your parents permission first to talk to you. That's why we asked about your age. >> So, you've never shoplifted here before? >> Why would they be telling you something different? >> I don't know. Do you come to this target frequently? No. >> You're also going to be trespassed from here. So, you can't come back to this target. >> If you come back to this target, obviously you're going to be placed under arrest. Okay. >> You drive a vehicle. >> With her information on file, the officer now turns to the store's team to confirm if they want to move forward with prosecution. After all, this incident is not her first defense. >> You guys said she's been here before? >> Yeah, that's what we're pulling up right now. >> Okay. And are you guys trying to press charges for all the situations you shop with or just for the one for today? Okay. >> Gotcha. >> I know it's annoying for this low dollar one incident, but >> No, listen. But she's done it a couple times. >> Yeah. That's that's our whole thing. We got to protect our reputation a little bit. You feel me? >> No, I got you. She was here. She's been here multiple times. >> Yeah. [Music] >> And she stays there because my parents move to Georgia. >> Oh, wow. >> So, but she goes to school in Dayton, so she's just >> Okay. >> So, I want you to realize that this Target has cameras everywhere. There's cameras and selfch checkouts. I know I've already asked you and you stated that you've never shoplifted from here before, but I want you to just take a second, think about it, and be completely honest with me cuz that's going to dictate how this situation's going to go based on you being honest with me or not. So, with that being said, have you shoplifted from this Target in the past? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Why didn't you just tell me that originally? >> You don't know. Cuz they're pulling up, I guess. I get it, but you can't you can't be doing this. >> You know what I'm saying? You're 18 years old. Your life just started. Do you really want whenever you get stopped by a cop that we pull up your wrap sheet and it's all petty theft, sharp um shopliftings? No. Or when you try to go look for a job and they run a criminal history check. Oh, M has eight misdemeanors for shoplifting. After two or three times, it starts to get enhanced and it does become felonies. See what I'm saying? How many times would you say if you could guess how many times you've shoplifted from here? >> Once or twice. >> That's it. >> I think so. >> To be honest with me right now. [Music] >> Just once or twice. >> What did you take in the past? >> With a current theft address, officers now press her on past shoplifting incidents she's been tied to. the last time >> um was it or when was the last time you were here at this Target? >> I haven't been here in a while. >> What is a while to you? >> Um well, I haven't been definitely haven't been here since like January. So, it probably be like after like before Christmas. >> Okay. >> I have to guess my friend to take my sister. >> Um if they want to just hand you >> Yeah. Where are they at? >> They're in my car. >> Okay. >> Because I was the other. >> Okay. >> Your sister's like 10. So >> So they were in here too with you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And then once they came and got you, they >> car like parked by um like the gym area, the chiropractor like >> Okay. >> over there kind of. >> Okay. Hey, if my um female lives out of county, can I do NTA? It's $12. What? No. Okay. >> Target $12. It >> was on sale for seven. >> You still stole it. Okay. I'm going to take your bag. I'm going to have you stand up and have you put your hands behind your back like you're praying. Put them in like that like you're praying. Today you're being placed under arrest for shoplifting. Okay. Sorry. You got small wrist. It's too uncomfortable. >> Despite the situation, she complies with the officer's instructions and doesn't make things harder than they need to be. I don't want to put it on your wrists. >> Just have um you have very small hands. >> Okay. You can have a seat back there for me. Okay. >> What happened? >> Thank you. Yes. So, what's going to happen is we're going to wait till they're done with the paperwork. We're going to go to the um inmate facility. I'll do all your paperwork there. They'll process you. They'll book you. This is your first time being arrested. >> So, they'll give you a bail and you'll be able to call somebody while you're there to post bail for you so you can get out and then you'll probably have a court date and I would just keep on top of all that stuff. And >> how much is bail >> that they're going to be able to tell you. I don't I don't know it >> with this situation and it being your first arrest and also >> it's going to be >> $13. I I don't can't imagine it's going to be very high. >> I don't want to give you a number because I don't know for certain. >> We don't want to give you the wrong number. >> Your friends, did they take your car or you're just going to leave your car parked here? >> My car here. What you're going to have to do then is because you're trespassed from Target as well as the parking lot, someone's going to have to come pick it up. Or you can call us, I'll give you the non-emergency number. You could just say, "Hey, can I have a deputy standby while I come and get my car because I'm trespassed from the parking lot." Um, only because after I give you this paperwork, once he signs it, if you come back here, you'll be arrested. We're going to obviously search your bag. Is there any in there? anything illegal that we should know about? >> No. >> Okay. >> Before transport, the officer conducts a final check to make sure the woman isn't carrying anything illegal. >> Anything hidden on you and any female spots? Because if you do bring it into um the jail, it's into a secured facility. It's a felony. >> Do you have like any anything in your bra area and your underwear? >> Okay. Cuz if you do bring it inside, it's going to be an additional charge, which is a felony. >> Okay. >> So, you have nothing. something. >> Okay. >> I don't know if what's in my pockets, so Oh, there's Kit Kats in my pocket. >> As long as it's not like >> knives, needles, something, a razor blade, you know, something that's illegal or could be a weapon. >> Okay. >> Did you not have the money or you just wanted it and didn't want to pay for it? >> Well, it was on my wrist and then had >> cuz I forgot you had it on. just I took off the tag and then >> you took off the tag. >> We're just learning from this situation obviously. Um, typically with the value, Target would usually just trespass, but I guess they're pulling video footage of you now in the stores on multiple occasions shoplifting, and that's why they want to press charges today. >> Um, as far as I know, they're not really going to press charges for the other amounts. They're just going to do it for the amount of today. Um, but that's what they're doing. and they're looking at cameras they have dated back for months. And that's why I asked you, is this your first time? And I just wanted honesty because they're pulling all those records up right now. How long are you going to be there for? >> Like is there like if I don't give an amount, is there like a time that I have to be there for or is it just, you know, >> you'll have you'll have court and they'll let you know? I'm assuming they're going to end up probably giving you some sort of notice to appear anyway. something like that. Let's say you don't get you can't get bailed out. >> Before the suspect is taken to the station, the employee informs her that she's now trespassed and barred from the store. However, he still offers her a bit of courtesy on the way out. >> This is going to be your copy. Obviously, you're being trespassed from Target. You cannot come back here. You can't even come to the parking lot when you do get released. >> No targets. >> What happened? >> It's >> just this Target. Now, if you go to the Targets in Sanford and you do that and they see it, they can trespass you from there as well. But from Target, you can't be on Target at all and you can't be in the parking lot from each end of Target. All of this is the property at Target. >> So, when you do get released and you need to get your car, she said her car is still parked here. I told her she could call us for a civil standby so you could get your car. Okay. I don't even need a voice. I don't You're just coming to your car. We won't >> You sure? Yeah. Okay. So, then you could come and get your car. Um, obviously, you just can't come inside of here. [Music] Like I said, I don't think you're >> I got a picture of that. Can I keep the receipt? >> Okay. You want to stand up? You're going to go to my Thank you guys. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> Of course. >> Welcome. >> We're going to go to the right. my car. >> Yeah. >> Um, it's fine. >> Obviously, I'm going to do a pat down search of you. Nothing hidden in any bra area, underwear, nothing at all? No. >> Okay. >> No worries. >> Sorry. >> What the officer finds next adds another layer of trouble for the 18-year-old. This situation isn't over yet. Whose other licenses do you have in your pocket? >> My sister. >> What are their names? >> Sam. >> Why do you have their licenses in your pocket? >> In your sister's room. >> You found them in your sister's room? So, if I call these two individuals, they're going to say that you're their siblings. >> All right. Just be honest. >> These are your sisters? >> She has my last name and the other one's my cousin. What's your cousin's full name? Where does what where's her where does she live? >> Uh, Indiana. >> And where does your sister live? >> She lives in North Carolina now. >> Okay. Where did you find these? >> In my sister's room. >> Your sister Victoria? >> No, my sister Elizabeth. >> Why were they in your pocket? >> Cuz I was showing my friend. >> You were showing your friend? >> Yes, ma'am. >> What were you showing your friend? I'm sorry. was they're fake. So I was showing them cuz >> So these are fake ID cards. Like okay, >> they're So yeah. So I was just showing them cuz I was like these are fake. These are funny. >> That's sketchy. She said these are both fake. She had them in her back pocket. >> She said she found them in her sister's room and she wanted to show her friends. >> They were like made a long time ago. >> Your sister's room. Your sister lives with you? No, she doesn't live with me. I was at my sister's. >> Okay. Where's your sister live? >> In Orand. >> Your sister lives in Orman? >> Yes. >> If I call her, you give me her number, she's going to say you took those from her room. >> Yes, ma'am. >> What's your sister's name? >> Elizabeth. >> What is this? >> Um, that should be from >> What's your sister's phone number? um 386. >> And both of these fake IDs were in your sister's room. You were there today in Orman. You took them, put them in your pocket to show your friends. >> And just like that, the 18-year-old is now facing an additional charge. >> Okay. Obviously, they're fake, so you're not getting them back. That's okay. They can go with it, right? >> Vape. No trash. >> You want trash? You want me to go put in your car? >> You can trash it. No, she can't take base lighters. I mean, not >> Yeah, they don't let them take it. You have anything hidden in your bra area? Have a seat in here. Watch your head. >> Would you like your seat belt on? Um, weapon. >> Weapon. >> Sure. Okay. Just going to grab this. I'll be right back. Okay. Can't be using them for oursel because they don't look anything like her. >> No, but why why else do you have in your pocket? Cuz you wanted to show your friend. You don't think that's kind of weird? >> I think it's weird. >> Super weird. They were in her back >> left pocket. They look legit though, right? West Virginia looks a little funky. I've never seen a West Virginia one though, but it looks weird. Ultimately, the 18-year-old was charged with shoplifting and possession of a fake ID. What's your verdict? Let me know in the comments, and I'll see you in the next video. As always, stay safe out there, folks.
