These people thought the law didn't apply to them until the handcuffs clicked into place. Here are five cases when cops encounter the craziest sovereign citizens ever. Number five, entitled sovereign citizen ends up escalating a traffic stop due to his behavior. On January 31st, 2024, officers with the Milbourne Police Department stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee tied to a suspended license. However, the drivers reactions turned what should have been a routine stop into a full-blown escalation. [Applause] Bravo [Applause] for absolutely nothing. >> Not absolutely nothing. You're suspended, your license, and your registration. So, I need sir, I need your license, registration, insurance. >> I'm not giving you anything. Call license, registration, >> giving you anything? >> Yes, you will. No, I'm not. >> Unless you you're going to be placed under arrest. >> Look, check this out. >> You're going to be placed under arrest. >> You want me my license or registration? [Applause] Step it up. >> All right, sir. Step out for me, please. I'm not getting out my car. As you see, I'm asking for more superior. No, you're not. You're not about TO OPEN MY DOOR. Let me open my door. Look at each other. NO. GET OUT MY CAR. SIR, GET OUT MY CAR. GET OUT OF MY CAR. TAKE CAN I SEE A SUPERIOR? >> Absolutely not. You can speak TO ONE LATER. >> NO. NO. I GOT TO TALK TO A SUPERIOR. NO, I'm not. >> No. You can't OPEN MY DOOR. THAT'S AGAINST THE LAW. You can Yes, IT IS. YOU CANNOT OPEN MY YOU CANNOT OPEN MY LOOK WHAT HE DOING, Y'ALL. You cannot OPEN MY DOOR. YOU CANNOT OPEN MY DOOR. >> STEP OUT. >> NO, you're not. Step out. >> Step out. You're getting dragged out. No, you're not. >> Step out. You're getting dragged out. >> No, you're not. >> Step out. You're getting dragged out. >> Get off OF MY WHAT'S YOUR NAME? >> Step out. YOU'RE GETTING DRAGGED OUT. >> DRAGGED OUT for what? >> Step, bro. Don't do it. Dragging me out for >> Step out. Step out. Step out. Step out. Step out. Put the phone down. Put the phone down and turn around. >> No, it's not. >> Put it down. >> NO, IT'S NOT. I'M NOT. >> PUT IT DOWN. PUT IT YES, YOU ARE. Turn around. What? Turn around. >> What am I for? Get off me. >> Get off of me, bro. >> Bro, you're going to get sprayed. Turn >> your hand behind your back. >> Behind us. BEHIND ME. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> MY HAND BEHIND. >> TURN AROUND. >> GET THE from me. >> No. Turn around. YOU PULL ME OVER. >> I just told you, but you don't want to listen. You want to squeeze. I listen. You talk. I said, "Give me a sergeant." >> No, sir. That does That's not how that works. >> That's not That's how it goes. >> NO, IT DOESN'T. TURN AROUND. Get sprayed. Turn around. Even after nearly getting tased and being placed in handcuffs, the man refuses to cooperate, he decides to double down and make things harder for everyone involved. >> Yes, I am if YOU DON'T TURN AROUND. I PROMISE YOU I WILL. I promise you. >> I promise you won't. >> I promise you. >> You know who I am. >> Look at my phone. Hey y'all, y'all see this, right? >> Well, dude, if you listen the first time, you wouldn't have to be here. >> Y'all see this? They harassing me. Nothing at all. >> NOTHING AT ALL. >> NOTHING. >> Nothing at all. I'm not resisting. Look. >> Yes, you were, bro. You don't listen. >> It's on camera. I hope your camera was on. I wasn't resisting. >> Yeah, it's on for all this, bro. So, you're not >> good LOCKING ME UP FOR THIS LOCKING ME UP. >> NAH, we're good to y'all LOCKING ME UP FOR A YELLING. All right. >> LAUGH, MAN. ACT LIKE A [ __ ] ADULT, MAN. GET YOUR HEAD. STOP PUTTING YOUR HANDS ON MY FACE. THIS GUY RIGHT HERE. PLEASE, PLEASE GET HIM. HE IS HE IS ILLEGAL. >> NO, IT'S NOT ILLEGAL. NUMBER ONE, YOU'RE >> THIS GUY PULLED ME OVER FOR NOTHING. I'M NOT SURE. >> YOU WANT ME TO TELL YOU WHY YOU WANT TO KEEP SCREAMING? >> NO, HE'S HE STRAPPED ME OUT MY RELAX. >> ACT LIKE A ADULT. He insists the officers had no reason to pull him over, but while they try to explain, he's more focused on raising his voice than actually listening. Unfortunately, being loud doesn't make him right. >> I'm going to speak with him. Tell me what's going on. >> I was at SH Hills Mall. Okay. >> I WAS I CAME AROUND TO what's your name? I came out. He threw his lights on. I I I follow all over. HE SAID, "I PULLED YOU OVER CUZ YOUR LIGHTS ARE SUSPENDED." I SAID, "WHY'D YOU RUN MY PLATES?" I DIDN'T DO A TRAFFIC. I understand that. But I can't. But listen, you cannot PUT ME YOU CANNOT PULL ME OVER IF IT'S NOT A TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENT. I DONE BEEN THROUGH THIS. >> We can run your plate. >> BUT YOU CAN'T PULL ME OVER FOR NO CH. IF IF YOU PULL ME OVER, IT'S GOT TO BE A TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENT. I DID NOT LISTEN. I DID NOT DISOBEY NO TRAFFIC. I get that. But look, you're not listening to me. I I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. I KNOW MY RIGHTS. I KNOW MY RIGHTS. I WAS IN MY CAR. THIS GUY TOOK ME OUT MY CAR. YES, HE IS. YOU CANNOT TAKE ME OUT MY CAR. I CALLED FOR A SERGEANT. I SAID, "CAN YOU GIVE ME A SUPERIOR on the way?" I said, "Can you get me?" NO. HE PULLED ME OUT MY CAR. NO, I AIN'T GETTING NO SUPERIOR. HE PULLS ME OUT MY CAR. START OPENING MY DOOR. THEN HE STEPPED BACK AND ABOUT TO SPRAY ME. SIR, YOU CANNOT DO THAT TO ME. OKAY. IF YOU WANT IF YOU WANT SOMETHING FROM ME, I'M GETTING OUT THE CAR. THEN HE SAY YOU GOING TO SPRAY ME? I'M LIKE, BRO, WHY YOU GOING TO SPRAY ME? HE LOOK AT MAN. HE JUST STARTED TREATING ME ALL CRAZY, MAN. AND THAT'S THE ONLY REASON WHY I'M BAD BECAUSE YOU CAN'T PULL ME OUT MY CAR. EVERYTHING HE DID WAS TOTALLY ILLEGAL. >> TOTALLY ILLEGAL. THAT WAS ILLEGAL. HE PULLED ME OUT MY CAR RIGHT THERE. HE WENT INSIDE. HE HE HE He took his hand AND WENT INSIDE OF MY CAR AND OPENED MY DOOR AND STARTED PULLING ME OUT OF MY CAR. >> WHY DID HE PUT HIS LIGHTS ON? >> HE PUT HIS LIGHTS ON BACK THERE. BACK BY THE MALL. RIGHT. RIGHT by the mall. Why did he take so long? That's why he's doing this because it took me so long. I said I was going to pull into a residential area. I didn't want to pull in over THE HIGHWAY. I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING OFF IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA WHEN IT SAID MORRISTOWN. BUT WHEN I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY, I SAW IT WASN'T. I PULLED OVER. I SAID, "OKAY, I ain't going to go too far cuz I don't want to make it seem like they CHASING ME." SO WHEN HE GOT RIGHT HERE, I SAID, "OKAY, YO, JUST CALL THE SUPERIOR." I SAID, "WHAT ARE YOU PULLING ME OVER FOR?" I'M NOT I DIDN'T IT WASN'T LIKE I SPEEDED. It wasn't like I was speeding, taking a high speed chase. I was going about 25 mph. So when I pulled over, you open the door. YOU GRABBING ME OUT FOR WHAT? And then without realizing it, he confirms the very thing they stopped him for, admitting his license is suspended. But instead of owning up, he pivots, saying he doesn't believe he has to follow what he calls federal law. Crime not coming back, REPORTED STOLEN. OKAY. YOU MAY SAY I'M DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE. OKAY. YEAH, I'M GIVING UP MY RIGHT as a living being. I'M GOING TO SOVEREIGN. All my paperwork is being done. I don't need no license, registration, or no place. They told me to TAKE MY PLACE OFF. SO THAT THE CAR TOLD ME TO TAKE THEIR PLACE OFF. I got a a lo a looney no title to my car. I DON'T NEED THIS. >> You need to have a register. Yeah. No, you know, whatever they told you is a lie. >> Listen, I'm explaining to you New Jersey title code says you need to have a license from registered vehicle. But it's it's federal. It's federal. And so the Supreme Court is Supreme Law to land. We're not going to get into that. >> I understand all that. But I I went through it. So you know what? He shouldn't have never did what he did pulling out my car. I WASN'T IN NO HIGH speed chase. >> I understand. But when it takes you when it takes you almost a mile. >> No, it wasn't no mile. I just turned half mile. Whatever. It wasn't even a half mile. I turned off right there. I Yeah. I wasn't I ain't even 1,000 ft. Probably 1,000 ft away. But for him to go in my car and pull me out my car, I am suing you, BRO. >> HE START MUNCHING MY FACE TALKING ABOUT TURN AROUND. WHY YOU GOT YOUR HANDS IN MY FACE, MAN? >> I'M NOT SPITTING, BRO. I'M TALKING THIS WAY. HE'S GOT HIS HANDS IN MY FACE. I AM SUING THE out of y'all, bro. I'm suing the guy. You should have seen what he doing TO ME. HE DRAGGED ME OUT MY CAR, MAN. HE DRAGGED ME OUT OF MY CAR. Where at, man? Totally gone. Sitting in the back. Go ahead. Get my phone. Where's my phone at? >> He's going to GO RIGHT HERE. >> THIS GUY'S NASTY, BRO. THIS GUY'S NASTY. PLEASE, SOMEBODY PLEASE. SOMEBODY give me another officer, man. STAY IN THE CAR, >> PLEASE. WHERE I need in the car. Everything's being recorded. You got another camera right in front of you. >> I don't care, man. YOU YOU YOU WAS TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL, MAN. >> Officer was totally disrespectful. Who's our screen from the beginning? YOU YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE PULLED ME OUT MY CAR. >> WHO STARTS WITH ME FROM THE BEGINNING? >> PULL ME OUT my car. >> Okay. >> With a man shouting over the officers and refusing to deescalate, they make the call to search his car for everyone's safety before reviewing what just happened. >> Man, apparently pulled him over. >> Yeah. On life four. I guess he lit him up and he didn't stop until here. >> So I guess Moses walked in and got all hot because he didn't stop for whatever a mile. Okay. So he tried to pull him out and the guy started resisting. I talked to Nate. >> That's fine. >> This is open like this. >> Yeah. After he pulled him out. >> You just tried to yank him out cuz you didn't stop. >> No. Well, not because of that. Like that'd be silly. I came around this side and I said, "All right, sir. So, and that you I'm not stopping. I'm not doing none of this. I'm not I'm suspended. You didn't pull me over for no reason." Start screaming at me right from the beginning. I said, "I'm not doing I'm not giving you nothing." I was like, "Okay, then get up." Yeah. No, it wasn't. >> You're good, bro. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So then I told him to get out. He didn't want to get out. He started spitting everywhere. So that's why [Applause] he was spitting towards us and spit like towards too. That's why >> you know, listen. What's What's your What's your first name? >> My name is Deshaawn Wiggins. >> Deshaawn Wiggins. >> My ID and all my my license right there, man. >> Listen. So here's what's going on. He's saying that the boss is on the way by the I call him. He's >> He's saying that you didn't want to give him any paperwork like license, registration, any of that stuff. >> I said when he pulled he pulled over, I said, "What are you pulling me over for? I have the right to ask you." >> And he has the right to tell you. He's supposed to. >> He said he said and I I said, "Can I speak to him?" He said, "No." He said, "Get out the car." I said, "What are you pulling me over for?" He said, "License, registration." I said, "Sir, what are you pulling me over for?" I didn't do anything. Listen, I saw him. He chased me. He chased me >> from the mall. >> From the mall. He chased me. He's clinging to one moment in particular when the officer trailed behind his vehicle with lights on trying to say that the stop was unjustified. But the truth is his refusal to pull over didn't help his case and the law doesn't work the way he thinks it does. >> Listen listen, I didn't want to pull over on the highway. I wanted that. Yeah, >> like that's all I want to do. Not only that, as look at this camera. I I stopped and I said, "Excuse me, officer. I'm trying to pull over into town." I said that outside of my car window. He said, "Pull over." I said, "You know what? I ain't going to try to cause no problems." I pulled over. If you look at that video camera, you'll see my hand out the window. Said, "Officer, pull on the side of me." He said, "No, I'm not pulling on the side of you." I said, "Okay, I'm just trying to pull into town." He like I said, you know what? I pulled over. I said that. Ask him that I said that. Why is he checking my car? I'm not I'm not This is not a criminal. THIS NOT A CRIMINAL STOP. This ain't a criminal stop. Tell him to get out my car. I did not give him consent to check my car. Please, officer that he is in my car. He is in my car. They are they are checking my car for what? For what? He can't be in my car. >> We're allowed to look what's in plain view. >> Listen, you can't check my car. >> We could look and see what's in plain view. He's not going to go in there. If he goes in there, correct. You are correct. But we can look from outside the car and see what's in there. >> I don't have a problem. I don't have a problem with him checking the car. But like him right there, he just violated me. You You cannot pull me over if it's not a traffic stop. Even if you see my license or something that expired, you have to wait till I do something illegal and use that as a what's name. >> That's not that's not correct. >> Uh Rocklin versus US 425 261 title 16 uh 2016. If you if union police union police hit somebody's um license plate, pulled them over while they in the parking lot. When they pulled him over, they gave him a ticket, told his car, and said >> in the parking lot. >> Yeah, in the parking lot. Pulled him over in the parking lot. Told his car. said how what what was it the track traffic infringement said? Nah, we hit his plate. They said that's not enough to cover to have somebody pulled over and then tow their car in a parking lot. >> Yeah, he pulled him over in the parking lot. He was about to pull him out. He was about to pull out. He blocked him in. This is the same thing. I did not commit no traffic infringement. >> You're not in a parking lot anymore. You're driving the car in a public roadway. >> I DIDN'T COMMIT ANY TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENT. I didn't die. I wasn't speeding. I didn't understand. And once again, the man circles back to the same argument, repeating his claim in the hopes that saying it louder will somehow make it valid. >> I I wasn't speeding. I made my left hand turn. I turned my my signals on. I wasn't doing nothing illegal. I did not do nothing. >> I understand. So, what kind >> is your license suspended? You don't have to tell me. I mean, he's going to run it anyway. >> Listen, all this stuff, I let all this go. They told me I had to let my license be suspended. I had to let my registration run out in order to get my sovereignty. So, that's what they had told me. So, I let it all run out. I didn't pay it. And then once I I'm in the right now, my paperwork is in. My baby mother send all the paperwork. >> What is that for? >> It's for my savages. For your your living rights. You don't have to have your license. >> So, you're a sovereign citizen is what you're saying? >> Yes. Yes. I'm apply for my sovereign citizen. I didn't >> In the state of New Jersey, if you don't provide license, registration, insurance, like or at least your license, you're you're a you're you're going to get arrested. >> Checking my car. Look, he's inside of my car. Look, he's inside of my car. He's inside. >> Hang on. >> Meanwhile, the officers work to wrap up the scene, carefully weighing their options before deciding how to move forward from here. >> What's he doing? What are you doing? Guys, I got these these bags. Who the [ __ ] [Applause] citizen? >> Yeah. Yeah. He was going He went ballistic on me right from the beginning. I didn't even get a chance to say nothing to him. He started screaming. No, I'm not. >> Well, that's what he said. What do you He told me he asked you what uh you were stopping him for. Yeah. >> And then you're like, I'll tell you after you give me your paperwork. >> Not in those sides. None of that happened. As soon as I walked through the window, I'm not giving you nothing like that. So why the are you stopping me? You're driving while suspended. Okay. I'm not giving you >> Well, that's what he's in there citing case law to me. And I'm like, dude, in the state of New Jersey, we can run your registration and if anything comes back wrong, then we can stop you. >> I It hit off my LPR. Not even wrong. >> Is he tinted though? >> Tinted too. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It's It's a whole >> He tried on. >> He tried ducking on me too. So like we passed each other Neman's right in front of Neman's uh right in front of J1. And then I I spun around and by the time I turned around he was gone. So he tried going the long way around the deck. So I cut through I cut through in front of legal seeroughs and met him in front of Macy's. He tried ducking me in front of a couple. I was like, "Bro, you're not All right. You're good here, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. Just uh he's not he's going to give me a hard time when we get down there. So, >> I think uh No, not Delgato. Panero is going to come. >> Yeah. I don't give a we have good ID, but >> Yeah. I I can sight him on scene and all that. But >> in the end, the suspect was charged with multiple motor vehicle violations, including obstruction and resisting without violence. Number four, how not wearing a seat belt escalated to a more serious offense. Next, we head to Flaggler County, Florida, where on October 30th, 2024, officers conducted a traffic stop on a passing truck. But instead of resolving things quickly, the driver and passenger ended up escalating a simple encounter into something much worse. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> Hey, I'm Deputy Harrison County. Reason stopping you, not wearing your seat belt. >> All right. license registration and translation. >> Hey, can I have yours too? You're not wearing your seat belt, >> sir. >> I need your license. >> Yo. Yo, man. You listening? >> You speak English? >> Yo, driver. >> What's up? >> Does he speak English? >> Ask him, bro. Come the one driving, bro. Like, >> all right, cool. 21462. >> Hey man, I need your name. >> Passenger, I need your name. >> I can't I can't understand. You got to talk slower. >> I got the right to remain silent. >> You do have the right to remain silent, but you have to identify yourself on a traffic stop. You committed a traffic infraction having not worn. >> Are you Are you refusing to identify yourself? [Music] It's only something. >> Are you going to give me your name? You're not You want to go to jail for this, bro? >> You're going to go to jail for this? Really? >> I guess >> you have a warrant or something. >> So, what is the issue? >> There's no issue. I just know my rights. >> Which and what's what rights are those? >> Well, I'm I'm a passenger. >> You are a passenger, but you're required to wear your seatelt in the front seat of a vehicle. I mean, you really want me to take you to jail for something so foolish? >> You tell me. >> I'm doing my job. >> I'm doing my job. He's not wearing a seat belt and you're not wearing your seat belt. I'm not driving. >> Okay. So, now, dude, you're really about to >> All right. >> I will. All right. Step out. Get out of my back. Under arrest. >> What was meant to be a routine traffic stop could have ended with a simple ticket. But the passenger's insistence that he knows his rights changed that. Now he's in handcuffs and on his way to the station. >> If you don't got no warrants, no probation. You really going to go to jail for some bull? >> Yeah, exactly. So like you know it's bull drive and I ain't committ no crime. >> You're good. You free to >> I'm not driving. I'm not driving. >> You sue me and sue the agency and you'll be the richest man. >> Thank you. >> Deputy Harrison the car, please. Thank you. >> One 01 01. >> Mhm. >> One 01. >> Don't worry. It'll be on the arrest report. All right. There's nothing in the back of my car. Anything that you have that I didn't find is that found at the jail would be a felony charge. All right. >> Get in, please. Can you give my >> Get in. >> Uh, whose truck is this? >> This is the company's truck, bro. >> Hey, man. This might be a Do we have to wait for everything for him and stuff? Hey. >> Moments later, another officer arrives to speak with the landscaper's co-workers, hoping to get a better understanding of what happened. >> How you doing? >> Good. How you doing? >> Deputy Mr. Fly County. >> What's going on today? >> He got pulled over and I'm just I know he has to take care of him, but I just asked him cuz I'm at work and everything. Do I have to like sit until he has to take him to jail or something? >> Did you provide your driver's license? >> He has my license. Yeah. He never took my registration or anything cuz he took the guy in. I asked him. >> You got the registration? >> Yeah. >> I asked him what >> you got insurance? >> Yeah, it's everything. Insurance. >> Do you have an ID? >> Why do you need my >> Just asking for it? >> Yeah. I don't see a real need just for you guys have my ID. I wouldn't break any laws or anything. >> Okay. >> So, I mean, I don't see I mean, I give it to you, but then soon as you guys run my name, you put goes in your little system thing, and I don't see a real need for that. >> What system thing? I really don't have any idea. I'm sure you do, but there's no need for me. You know, I was wearing my seat belt, so you know, no problem. I don't see any need for you guys to have to run my name, right? I mean, what what you could give me a logical reason of why you would need to run my name? >> Well, you're on a traffic stop and >> I'm not on a traffic stop. They're they're on >> Are you inside of a vehicle? That is >> I was on I wasn't committing any crimes. So, >> okay. >> You know, like I said, you know, like they had a traffic fraction. They weren't wearing their seat belts. I was. But if you could give me a logical reason other than that, just other than being in a vehicle and you stop coming in my presence, that's not a legitimate reason. >> Okay. While I was speaking before you cut me off, I was explaining you are on a traffic stop. >> He's on a traffic stop. I have nothing to do with this traffic. >> I believe you are inside of a vehicle that I have nothing to do with you. >> Do you want me to Do you want me to give you a logical reason or you want to keep talking over me? >> No. I want you to give me the law. If you can't state the law of why you pull someone else, you asked. Listen, you could ask and I could request. >> You asked for a logical reason and I'm requested my ID, did you not? >> And I denied your request. >> I'm not going to run circles. You asked for a logical reason. I'm trying to provide it, but you rudely cut me off. >> Everything you say is going to be logical, sir. I did no crimes. >> You didn't even get to hear me yet. >> And at this rate, he's only digging himself deeper. If he doesn't cut the attitude soon, he might find himself in cuffs just like the others. >> I know what I did and didn't do. So, like I said, you I know the law >> and I'm back here. I'm minding my own business. This is his traffic stop. He's the driver, not my traffic stop. This is not I didn't have any infractions. >> So, you got to know what you're talking about. >> Oh, I know what I'm talking about. I've been doing this >> request my ID in the backseat of a car just because I'm in the vehicle. Fortunately for him, the officers decide not to escalate things further. At least not this time. >> Rear passenger have a seat bel. >> I don't know. I just I mean, he's not rear passenger is not required to wear. >> I know. He was just arguing and his seat belt's not on. He might not. I don't think >> Mhm. I don't know. Do I have to wait until they put him in? >> Do you have your driver's license back? >> I gave No. >> Did you get your ticket? >> No. That's why I'm just wait. I don't know what's going on. Just going to have to keep waiting. >> Just waiting. All right. I'm just I'm at work. >> So, we all good. >> Did you get the ticket yet? >> I don't get a ticket. I mean, so I don't >> Did he get the ticket yet? >> No. No. I'm just saying between me and you, we got we all good. You don't need my ID, right? >> I'm not going to keep running circles. No, I'm just saying you either uh it's either you're going to ask me for my ID and I'm under the threat for arrest because I need a lawsuit, you know, just let me know. If you're going to ask me or something like that, you know, not everybody's entitled to give you their ID. >> Well, let me let me explain the law to you. All right. So, driver needs to be belted at all times. >> Front passenger needs to be belted at all times. No, you don't. You're technically in the rear. You don't you don't have to be you don't have to be which is without talk to you cuz I don't care if you don't want to you get in a crash and die you don't do the paperwork and >> I didn't know that one thing but >> yeah but that doofy over there he needs to be wearing his seat belt and this guy needs to be wearing his but now he's going to jail >> well that's what I was saying he asked me for my ID and >> we can ask and I can request denied right >> yeah we can ask >> that's why I was trying to make sure that I was good with yeah of course >> or they go to jail all right so uh you're going to get a citation for not wearing your seat belt all right it's a non-moving violation $26 fine, 30 days to pay the fine or else you actually be suspended or you can dispute the court the the fine in traffic court. My name badge numbers on the bottom if you want to file a complaint, whatever you like. >> All right, man. You're all good to go. Actually, you want to take his black and you can't take that to jail. >> Ultimately, the driver received a citation for the seat belt violation while his colleague faced a more serious charge of obstruction. Number three, driver thinks he can just demand for a ticket. Cops make him understand that things don't work that way. In our next case, Monroe County deputies stop a vehicle for having no tag lights, but the conversation that follows quickly raises red flags. >> Hi, I'm Deputy Po at the Monro County Sheriff's Office. Reason for the stop is you don't have any tag lights on your tag. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Oh, okay. We just took it into the shop >> yesterday. We just took our Jeep into the shop yesterday. >> Okay. You have your driver's license, registration, proof of insurance. >> Yes, sir. >> What's your name? >> Deputy Pall. >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you guys. >> We just moved here. So, >> okay. How long have you all been living here? >> Uh, two months. >> We live just up here. >> Okay. >> Uh, [ __ ] will you pull up the insurance? Yes, of course. >> Where you guys come from? >> Uh, I was playing at uh I'm a musician. I was playing at Captain Tony's. >> Okay. Any illegal any legal in the vehicle? >> No, sir. >> No, sir. >> Huh? >> No, sir. >> No, sir. >> Okay. Yes, sir. Or no, sir. >> No, sir. >> It's always best to be honest off rip. >> We have canines out here. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. >> Do you have dogs on the island? We do have dogs on the island. >> Okay. >> Yeah. No, just uh >> Yeah, we don't we don't have anything. >> Just uh driving home from the gig, >> huh? >> Just driving home from the gig. >> Okay. Um you under the influence of anything, sir? You have pinpoint pupils. >> He has beautiful green eyes. >> He does, but he does have pinpoint pupils. >> I don't know what that means. >> That means he's under the influence. Hey, well, your light is very bright. >> Okay, it's for it's for my safety. >> That's fine, but it's it's my >> As long as the couple cooperates, this traffic stop should be over in no time. Unfortunately, the way they're speaking with the officer is already raising concerns. >> Um, so it's the uh it's the light on the tag. light on the >> there. There is no light on the tag >> plates in the state of >> Can I get out and check it? >> Not right now, but >> can I get out and check it? >> Once the traffic stop is done, you can look at it and you you'll see. That moment was the man's final chance to cooperate. That's an arrestable offense. >> Yeah, it's a criminal in the state of Florida. You've lived here for over two months, right? On what? Fourth and Flagler. Number two, entitled driver ends up making a traffic stop worse because he refused to comply. The next case takes us to July 14th, 2023, where officers initiated a stop on a white Nissan that failed to obey a stop sign. Here's what happened next. >> Sir, how are you? >> Why are you following me like that? >> Cuz we're trying to stop you and you are not letting us stop you. >> No, that's not true. I seen you behind me. >> You get that light on my face. It's not in your face. It's at your steering wheel. >> You had it in my face. >> No, I did not. >> Why? I got the light on. >> I'm Look, I'm recording. I do not want to step out. No, sir. Just give me my ticket so I could go. I do not feel comfortable getting out. Where's your supervisor? Why do you have your hand on my door? >> You want to talk to our supervisor? >> Yes. >> Okay, then step out of the car. >> No, I do not want to step out of the car. I don't have to step out just to talk to the supervisor. >> I'm right here. >> Who? You're a supervisor. Instead of cooperating with officers and following simple commands, she chooses to be combative, demanding a ticket as if that's all this stop is about. The more she digs in, the worse things get. >> You say you're you're the supervisor, Sergeant. You're the supervisor, right? >> Yes. >> Delta 135. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I agree. I don't feel safe. >> I do not have to get out of the vehicle. I have done nothing wrong. You said I You stopped me before a for a traffic stop. That's correct. But stop it at a crosswalk. >> So the Supreme The Supreme Court disagrees with you. >> You can write me my ticket and I can go. >> We will oblige you with that request. My car for my safety. Y'all have way too many cops just for this one traffic stop for no reason. >> Listen. with you escalating the situation. >> How am I escalating? >> Is it pointed at me? I can't see. >> How How is this escalating? >> Make sure you're pointing the camera at me. >> How is it escalating? >> You're escalating the situation. >> How? >> Okay. Because you're getting all worked up. You're rolling out the window. >> I'm talking so you can hear me. I'm not rowdy. I'm not banging on nothing. I'm not doing nothing that I'm not supposed when I'm talking to you. >> Here's the deal. Okay. >> I don't want to get out. Just get my ticket. It's 1, two, three, four, five. All she needs to do is provide the necessary paperwork and comply, but it's clear she has no intention of doing either. >> Uh, probably some more back there. I don't want to get out the car. I don't feel safe. >> We're going to have a dog sweep your car. >> Go ahead. Get around the car, but you can't get in my car. >> In order to do that, we're not getting in your car until the dogs. >> Crazy. I can't. >> But you need to step out of the vehicle. If you don't do so, >> we will probably have to remove you from >> Which means Is this your Is this your car? Yes, that's He got my license. You have to think about cause and effect. >> So you you need to think about cause and effect cuz I can do a lawsuit on you. You try to pull me out. It's my will and everything like that. >> Do I look afraid of a lawsuit? >> I did nothing. >> Do you think I would risk my career? >> Just get your supervisor. Supervisor. You a sergeant. >> I'm here. >> Listen to me. Here's what I'm trying to explain to you. No, >> I do not want to break a window. >> I do not want to break a window. >> But if you make me I'm not getting out. >> I will break the window and I will remove you from the vehicle and you'll be arrested for resisting. >> You understand that? >> I'm not getting out. >> Okay. You've made this decision. I want you to know that you will pay the consequences for this decision. Do you understand that? >> What? Listen. >> Why? Why are you bringing a dog around my car? >> Because that's our job. >> To do what? Like you have to have a reason why you're bringing a dog around a car. Do you smell me? >> That's what the dogs does. >> But you pull me over for stopping at a crosswalk. Correct. And all this you're escalating this by getting a dog talking about breaking my window and all of that. >> What happens next? >> No, I'm not doing it. >> Is a direct result of your decisions? >> I don't feel safe. What happens next? Cops. I roll my window up just to >> and then I turn my lights on in the car >> so you can see me. I don't I'm not doing that. >> What happens next is a direct result of your decision making. Okay? >> I'm not I'm not I'm not giving you consent to search my car inside. You can take the dog around or you want it, but you don't have to sit to go and search my car for no reason. No reason at all. All of these talks for what reason? >> Officers have gone over the situation again and again, but it's clear that the suspect is either not listening or refusing to get the point. And that's exactly what's getting her in deeper trouble. >> What reason do y'all have all these cops? >> Waste of time. >> All right, ma'am. Can you Can you unlock your vehicle, please? >> You need to step out. We have probable cause to search your vehicle. >> Okay. >> For what? >> That's correct. The dog alerted on your vehicle. >> For what? What's in here? Nothing. I don't have nothing in here. >> If you don't open Listen to me. If you don't open the door, you are subject from my car. >> We are going to break your window. >> The dog and you just let it. It jumped up on my car. But I don't have your >> We going to break your windows. >> Do you understand that? >> I'm not getting out. >> You're going We are going to break your windows. >> Okay. One, two, three. >> The woman was later charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence. Number one. Man who calls himself a lawyer calls 911 and ends up getting arrested. Our final case takes us to Key West where officers respond to a hotel trespassing call. But the shocking thing is that it's not the staff who called for help. It's actually the man being asked to leave. Here's what officers walked into. >> What did I do? >> So, what happened? Can you tell me? Because like I have no idea. >> I I have no idea. >> But she's saying you call 911, right? >> I did because she refused me service. >> Okay. >> So, she had You are in private property, right? If you if if they don't want to serve you, then they're not they're not supposed to serve you. You're on private property. >> I have a reservation. I paid >> It doesn't matter. You're on private property, sir. >> It doesn't matter. >> It doesn't matter. Are you from Florida? Maybe >> I am from Connecticut. I have a contract. >> Okay. We're just waiting. >> I did not threaten anyone. >> I'm not saying you're trying anymore. >> I did nothing. I don't know what her problem is. I don't know. I paid her. I gave her $30 tip. >> Okay. So So why you call 911? >> I don't know. >> What do you mean? No, you call 911. >> She She told me I was in the men's room too long. >> That's why >> that's why you call 911. >> Yes. And you said you're a lawyer. You should know better. >> I have I have a contract. >> I don't care. Why do you have >> No, you may not care, but I rented a space. >> Are you leaving or no? Are you leaving or no? >> You arrest me. >> Okay. [Music] You're happy. [Music] >> Anything to you? I gave you money tonight. >> I tipped you. >> What did I do to you? >> Why you just Why you just didn't leave? Come on, man. Because why did you tell me I have you have to arrest me? I did nothing. I broke no law. >> Okay. Okay. Let me move my >> sir. Okay. >> You're going to be >> Okay, that's fine. Okay. >> You're giving me undo pressure. >> Okay. >> So, listen. Not not in Florida. Okay. No. >> So you you tell me if I can go to your house, right? Inside your house. And you tell me to leave and like, no, I'm not going to leave because you didn't tell me the reason. >> No, that's good. >> Okay. >> He's now in cuffs and the officers are preparing him for transport, but that doesn't mean he's done with the arguments. >> Anything illegal on you? I'm sorry. Have >> anything illegal on you? Spread your feet. Spread your feet. No. >> 30 ft right there. >> Is your ID here, sir? >> Uh, I gave it to you. >> You never gave me your your ID. I never asked for ID. >> I'm sorry. >> Here's your ID, right? >> Yes, sir. >> Listen, if if you have something on you and you're going to take it to jail, you'll get another charge and it's going to be felony. >> All right. What do you want me to do? >> I'm just asking you if there's anything else in you. In your pocket, somewhere else, in your shoes, anywhere. Just ask you the question or sir. Sir, what do you want me to do? >> Just asking me the question. >> No. No. >> So you don't have That's it. >> Do you want me to just forget it and go? What do you want me to do? >> No, you are not. >> I don't understand. >> Sit down. >> I don't You're going to jail, man. That's it. Put down >> for for what is the offense? >> Trespassing. >> I have not given any Miranda rights. >> Sit down. >> I have not given any do with the Miranda rights. >> I'm sorry. There's nothing to do with the Miranda rights. >> I don't have any rights. >> I said there's nothing to do with the Miranda rightites. I don't need to ask you any questions. I would like to hear my rights, please. >> Sir, it's not how it works. >> Yes, I'd like to hear my rights, please. >> I don't have any questions to ask you.
