On January 30th, 2025, an officer was dispatched to Space Coast Credit Union after receiving a report of a 64 year old man attempting to use another person's ID to withdraw $4,000. Here is what happened next. >> Hey, how's it going, sir? >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> Okay. What [clears throat] do you What's your business here? >> I'm here for person. So you have to get here for >> she to get the money but she debit card again or something like that. You know what I'm saying? Like if you had your debit card [clears throat] what was going on? >> He was at another branch in Orman saying that he's a member for island. Okay. >> Okay. You have a any form of identification with you? >> No, sir. >> Okay. >> Can I talk to you, sir? >> Yeah. >> What happened? What happened there? link. >> So, we're we're being told that you're going to different different banks and you are doing fraudulent things. >> No, I'm not. >> So, do you have an ID with you? >> Uh, yes, I do. You have the right to talk to an attorney and have him with you now or during any questioning. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be appointed to represent you. If at any time here after you wish to stop to talk to have an attorney present, all questioning will be stopped at your request. Do you understand the rights I read to you? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. It's his account, not his. and um check it to see what the remaining balance is, >> but he's not able to get access cuz obviously it's not his and he's been going up and down the >> Have you talked to the teller at all? >> Uh a little bit. So I didn't get like all the information. >> Will you uh get John's information from him? I'm going to try to get it from them and see if it matches. How you doing? >> Are you the one that he was with? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um >> the account that he was trying to access. >> This is what he gave me. This is the number and this was the ID. >> Is that an actual account? >> I tried. I can try again just in case. Were you able to pull up the account he was looking for at all? >> I had to pretend to do other things. >> Can I see that? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It was under he said that it was a friend named John that the account he was trying to get into. >> Any other person to me at all? He said this was what he wanted to write down and he gave me that ID. So I did a search for that. I looked for this and it doesn't come up. >> I just didn't know like if he actually had access to a guy named John's account. So >> I don't think so, but let me make sure just in case >> cuz that account that um that person name on right there got a girl lady name on it or something. But maybe it was something his >> Yeah. So that's what I'm saying. The one he the account that he his ID that ID with that name on it has an account with Denise. >> If I remove the zero this does come up but it's that's not him basically. >> Yeah. Is it the name John on that account without the zero? >> No. It's the name technically on that ID but that's not him at all. >> Okay. And then Denise is the other >> so I'm on the phone with our loss prevention department. He's hit up several members and he has the names. I don't know if you need to talk to him as well. >> Oh with this guy. >> Uhhuh. >> Okay. >> Is that your lawyer that you're talking to? >> No, actually it's my girlfriend. >> Girlfriend?
