On August 15th, 2024, an officer was dispatched to the airport after the Transportation Security Administration's facial recognition system flagged a passenger attempting to use another person's identification to board a flight. Here is what happened next. >> But why did you present this one to them? >> Um because uh I only have an expired ID and I didn't know that. I thought I could just I just was using it to fly cuz I cuz I don't have I >> Which one is this? >> This is my new ID, but my wallet got stolen. >> Oh, okay. That's my old one before that I used to get this one and then my wallet got stolen and so that's why I'm going back to Vegas too to get a new ID and stuff. >> So you don't have a Florida deal? >> No. Uh nope. I don't have a Florida uh driver's license right now. >> So where is this one from? Uh >> that's from Vegas. >> Vegas. >> So you had three, >> huh? >> You have basically you had three. Well, this is yours right here. >> Well, this is my expired one and this is my new ID. And then that I was just using hers to try and get to Vegas because I figured it'd be easier just to I know it was stupid. I'm sorry. Can I call my friend and have him cuz he bought the ticket for me. Can I have him see if he can switch? >> Do you have a warranty that I need to know? >> Uh no. Well, I have a a warrant in Pennsylvania for a fine, but no. >> Is it It's active. >> Um for a fine. I think I might. I mean, I owe $200 on a fine in Pennsylvania. >> Yeah, but it's you know, it's going to be extra liable. That's >> Oh, no. Not at all. It's not. >> Okay. So, your friend is your friend is the one that bought this ticket for you. >> Oh, my is my boyfriend. But he's the one that bought it for you, right? >> Um I told him to put it in that name. Like he bought it for me. >> Oh, so he bought it for you under this name? >> Yeah, I told him too. He didn't like >> Yeah. >> So >> I told him I I figured it'd be easier just to I was kind of stupid, right? >> Yeah. >> It was like I asked him I said, "Can you put it under my name?" So cuz my ID expired cuz he noticed that my wallet got stolen. Okay. So he >> he wasn't like trying to uh I don't know pull or anything or like >> like I wasn't I just was honestly just figuring it would be quicker than trying to go to like with an expired ID. I didn't know if you guys would expect accept it is really the thing. Only reason I did like this is cuz I didn't think that my expired ID would get accepted. >> No, I understand that. But coming over here with first of all an ID that is not yours and two coming with a ticket. You told me that your friend is the bought it, right? She >> No, my boyfriend. I asked >> Oh, your boyfriend bought it for you? >> Yeah. Not her. She >> No, no, I get it. But your boyfriend bought it. >> I asked him to put it in her name because I said I said I have my friend Bonnie's ID and she looks like me. I figured it would just be easier to just cuz it's not expired. >> Okay. Yeah. >> I was just trying to avoid all >> You can't do that. You know what I mean? It's presenting somebody else's ID. >> I didn't think I didn't realize it was okay. >> It is a big deal. >> Okay. Well, I'm sorry. I'm just waiting for my supervisor to get here so we can go and figure it out what we're going to do. Okay. >> Okay. Am I going to get arrested? >> So, I don't know to be honest with you. Um I got to wait because uh they have a different positions that we have. >> So, whatever happens in there is they're the I'm we don't responsible for that. So, like I said to you, they have a different So, my supervisor going to come over here and they're going to have to talk to them and figure it out what we're going to do. Okay. >> Okay. Um Okay. Okay. Well, I just want you to know like I'm not I don't I'm just >> like I said to you for the warrant. I'm not going to search you for the warrant because just the only thing I can tell you don't go back over there to uh because >> soon as I get to to Nevada I'm going to pay it. As soon as I can get there my >> Where you flying to? >> Huh? Go back home to Vegas. >> So your warrant is in Vegas? >> No. >> No. It's in Pennsylvania. Yeah. It's going to set you can go you can go back over there. That is no issue. >> Yeah. Am I allowed if I'm allowed to fly? My wife wants to know if he can get if he can change the ticket to my name so I will be able to fly, >> right? >> Is that possible? >> I I don't know. I I don't know. That's But the thing is once you because what you just did right now, >> I don't know if they're going to b you ban you for flying, you know. >> Okay. And I I hope not. So, basically, this is fraud. Okay. >> Okay. >> Presenting somebody else's ID >> is a penalty for the state of Florida. Okay. So, that's the reason why you're under arrest. >> Okay. So, how long am I going to be under arrest? >> I don't know, you know. So, uh once you get booked, they will tell you, you know, if you're going to have a hearing or you're going to have a bond and all that. >> Can I move my left wrist? Uh like it's kind of crooked. Um All right. >> Hold on a minute. >> I'm sorry, ma'am. >> Just don't move. Okay. Just let her do it. >> I'm getting arrested for fraud. >> For presenting somebody else's ID. >> All right. >> Your bag, that bag can come with us to jail. Okay. >> Okay. >> This bag we're going to keep for safekeeping at the airport. Lost and found. They won't take it at jail. Okay. >> Why is it going to stay at the airport? >> Cuz I just told you why. >> We cannot take personal stuff. So, it will be lost and found. So except for safekeeping. So you can come back here after you get out. You come back here and we'll give it to you. >> It'll be safe. >> It will be safe. >> It's also found. It'll be under locking. >> So is it fraud or identity? >> Identity fraud. >> Identity fraud. Yeah. >> She was charged with criminal use of personal identification information.
