It started like every other day with taunts and threats, but by the end, let's just say they learned the hard way. Here are five cases when school bullies think they're untouchable. Backfires. Number five, college student caught trying to burglarize dorm room. Police detain a young male student on a university campus after spotting him fiddling with the window of a groundfloor apartment. Here's what happens when the officer starts to question him. You got some ID for me? >> I do. Yes. >> Just to let you know, my body cam's on. It's recording audio and video. So, when I roll up, it looks like you're trying to get into that window. >> Okay. Yeah. Um, >> so let's let's just break through all the the BS right here, okay? and let's talk about what's going on because I don't think that it's extremely malicious, but it's probably something silly and and you feel embarrassed about it. And now that I'm involved and I'm taking a very serious role because that's my job, I got to get I got to cut through it and figure out what's going on. >> Yeah. I get um bored and kind of antsy and like to do silly things for attention. So, I >> Okay. tried to open that up, but I knew it wasn't going to work and tried it anyways. >> Okay. So, what is it that's that's in there? Is that somebody's room or >> It's uh I She said it was a janitor's closet sort of thing. Um I wasn't looking to go in or like even if I got it open, I would just close it right back up. >> So, the window is partly popped open there. >> Partly open, but securely locked from what I can see. >> Is that window supposed to open? >> I'm not sure. It it doesn't look like it. >> Yeah. >> So, here's what I'm going to do. I'm gonna try and figure out what's going on here. I've got another officer in route that's going to come and hang out with you while I go down on the other side and figure out what's going on. >> Gotcha. >> So, once I get figured out what's what's happening here, then we'll get it resolved. >> Can do. >> But just to let you know, I know you say you like to do silly things and that kind of stuff. This is a felony. Is it? >> Yes. >> This is burglary. >> So, anytime you try to get into a space, a building, if it's a room, then it's an then it's a residence. If it's not, it's commercial. So, anytime you try to get into a space that you don't have a right to get into. Despite the explanation, officers make it clear that his actions technically fall under secondderee burglary. The student is clearly surprised, not having understood the seriousness of what he was doing. >> So, that's a felony. Okay. So, now I got to do something. I'm not inclined to take you to jail for burglary or anything like that. Okay. But I do have to figure out where we're at and what I need to do. At at the very minimum, what I'm very likely to do is just call an RA and let them know and then you can talk to the RD about it >> and and figure this out. >> How about you take your hands out of your pockets cuz I don't know what's in them. >> Sorry about that. >> No problem. Um yeah, just keep your hands out there for me until my other officer gets here and then we'll figure it out. All right. >> This here is Officer Cunningham. He's going to hang out with you for a second until I figure out what we got on the other side of this window. And uh >> Do you want me to go >> see what we need to do now? I'm just going to check it real quick. This gentleman here, as I was coming by, was uh opening up that that lower window. >> Gotcha. Are you a student here? >> Uh I am. Yes. Awesome. Do you mind just stepping up here for a moment? >> Sure thing. >> Thank you. I appreciate your cooperation. Let me see. Police Department. >> Hello. Can I help you? >> Yes. Is this your room? >> Yes. >> And is that your bedroom back there in that corner? >> No. >> Do you know what room is? Is that somebody's bedroom or >> Oh, this is the bathroom. And these are my bedrooms back there. Why? What's up? >> Okay. because I had somebody trying to come into the window and I just wanted to check the window from the inside. >> Please do, sir. >> So, I don't want to I don't want to interrupt you, but it was this back corner. This back corner. So, there's not another room off of the kitchen >> here. There's nothing on that side. There's this side, but these are >> this this is the window right here. >> This one? >> Yeah. >> Someone was trying to get in. >> Uh yeah, somebody was trying to open that window. They check inside the apartment and speak with a resident who confirms someone tried to open the window and expresses discomfort about the intrusion. Uh, so I I I don't believe it was malicious. He was talking to his friends up there. You saw the window here. So he was trying to pry it open. Very very weird. So that's >> that makes me aggressively uncomfortable as the director of the building. >> Me too. Well, thank you for >> He's a student. Would you like to come out and talk to him? Cuz I have the on call RA in route. >> I would rather not, but I would really like them to write a report about it. >> The RD on call is in route. >> Oh, >> so we've got an RD coming. >> Oh, wonderful. >> So, I feel that his his actions were not >> malicious cuz I'm talking to him and stuff. I think he was just goofing around. His friends were there, so he was just horsing around. It was a dark room >> because of the >> um the color on or the tinting on the windows. >> He he thought that this was a custodial closet. >> No, that's that way. >> Yeah. >> Still not appropriate. >> So, yeah. Exactly. So, I have him detained for burglary second right now. >> Great. >> But I don't really want to hit him with a felony. >> Right. So that's why I was having housing come in because I figured having housing take care of this was probably a lot more appropriate unless I'm looking at a real, you know, burglar trying to maliciously get into somebody's space, >> right? Which I thought that was. >> But regardless, he will be made aware of just how >> Thank you. >> his activity was this evening. >> But we'll take care of this. And you don't want to pursue burglary, do you? Cuz it's >> not interesting. It's more up to you because it's your residence. >> It's okay. I think this will be enough. We've had issues with noise back here at I suspect this will be enough. >> Okay. >> And I'll I'll have my supervisor be the one to have the conversation. >> Excellent. >> I am not. >> Excellent. >> The resident agrees not to pursue charges and campus housing staff arrived to handle it as a student conduct issue. >> You sir are a very lucky young man this evening. >> That is a residence. And I spoke with a resident and they do not feel like pursuing burglary charges this evening because I explained that you are young and being and that this will probably correct your behavior and it will be taken care of locally through the housing department. Whereabouts is it that you live? >> Uh I live just over there. I can give you the exact address. So, you don't live on campus? >> I don't live on campus. >> Okay. Um, but you are an active student. >> I am. Yes. >> Do you have any questions? >> Uh, nothing about this situation. No. >> Okay. Excellent. >> I I think that a big part of our job besides just making sure that the enforcement stuff is done is to do some education so that you understand why. So, if you had questions, I would prefer that you asked as opposed to going, "Oh, that was a near miss. I'm glad I'm gonna be going." But, you know, sometimes people still have questions. >> Call. >> You're the RD on call. >> Yeah. My name is Lily. >> Lily. I am Sergeant Bailey and this is Officer Cunningham and this is Mr. >> And we're wearing body cameras and they're on. >> Thank you. Appreciate it. >> And >> hey, can you back away from your window, please? Thank you. I was I was cruising by and Mr. McInn was down at this window fiddling around. >> Gotcha. >> Uh as I drove up, he stood up. I stopped, contacted him. >> Mhm. >> These are his friends up in the window that are watching what's going on. Gota >> and he said that he was outside fiddling with the window to see if he could get it open. And um he was just bored. The RD on call explains that even unintentional actions like this are taken seriously and within campus rules, climbing or tampering with windows is strictly prohibited. >> Uh I explained to him that this is actually burglary when you're trying to >> open up or make entry into a room. And I found out that that is a residence. Mhm. >> Um, one of your employees. >> Mhm. >> And so, uh, I I spoke to that that person and they were not inclined to, uh, pursue burglary charges. >> Okay. >> So, um, I felt that maybe it would be better to have this handled through residence. >> Sure. >> And student judicial rather than the through the legal >> aspects of it. >> Makes sense. So I will be completing a small report for uh documentation purposes >> of course. >> Um but I thought that's helpful. >> I would leave it in your your great hands. >> Thank you. >> Sure. I appreciate you. >> So >> So do you understand that? >> I understand this. Yes. >> Yeah. So, we're not dealing with you, but you will get probably contacted by the dean of students who in a lot of respects here is much worse than talking to us because we're just we're like, you know, we're here to make sure that nobody's hurting each other. He's here to make sure that the school runs properly and they handle and dole out discipline as they see fit according to the uh code of conduct that all the students sign. >> But then again, his discipline is going to be a lot lower level >> than ours >> than what we would send you to court for. So, >> all right. >> What do you mean you were bored? >> Uh, I was waiting for my boyfriend to come back. Uh, he was in his room getting some pens. The student was told this was a serious misstep, especially since the window belongs to a professional staff member. >> We were going to go back to my house before wind up with another. Okay. >> Tell me about the thinking that led to trying to >> You can clear I'm >> okay. >> Uh it was >> Thank you. >> Did you think it was a room? Did you think it was a hallway? >> Uh my friend's friend told me it was a janitor's closet. >> Okay. >> And since I don't live here and didn't know what that room was, I believe. >> Gotcha. Do you live on campus? >> I don't. I live just off campus by the uh the Hagens. >> Okay. Are you a first year? >> I am. Yes. >> Yeah. So, just for your info, that's a professional staff member's room. That's not even an RA. That's somebody at my level's room. Um and they just texted me to let me know that you tried to break into their window. So, that doesn't look really great, right? Um so, since you are not a residential student, this will probably go through student conduct. Um just as a piece, I took a picture of your ID cuz I'm going to write a report on my end. Um, and then somebody will probably contact you. Um, just so you know, within the resident's life policies, it is prohibited to climb through windows. Um, you are only allowed to enter and exit through doors. Does that make sense? >> Yes. >> Okay. In the future, um, I really advise you to just wait for your partner. Um, and never climb through a window again because it could lead to this as well. Um, and I can guarantee you if it wasn't on campus, it would have led to a lot more than them just walking away. >> Yeah. Um, yeah, you most likely probably would have been arrested >> if if I wasn't able to contact them or them. >> Yeah, >> I'd be taking you to jail. >> Yeah. So, um I'm not sure what it looks like. I got to be honest, I've never had anybody try to break into professional staff members apartment. Um, even if that wasn't your intent, that's definitely what we're dealing with right now. Because of the resident's choice not to press charges and the officer's assessment that the student wasn't trying to commit a crime, he's let go. >> If you're going to go through the student conduct process, we're not worried about trespassing tonight. Um, and it'll go through that process anyway. I do ask though, and I'm advising you to not be in this area. Um, I will let the RA know that you're not meant to be in this area. If they see you, you will be documented again. Um, that's just so that people can rest easy tonight and know that nothing else will happen. Does that make sense? >> Yeah, I fully intend to make tracks. >> I get it. Any questions for me? >> Um, no. I'm very sorry to have disturbed you, both of you. >> It's okay. Um, I will let you go. Um, and then somebody will be in contact probably tomorrow or the next day. >> Gotcha. >> Cool. >> Well, thank you. >> All right. You got your ID back? >> Uh, I do. Yes. >> Okay. No questions of me either. >> Um, not this time, though. >> All right. You have a safe evening and stay out of trouble. >> Yes. Take care. That's it. >> In the end, he's formally warned not to return to that part of campus and informed that he'll be contacted by student conduct. If anything similar happens again, it may not be handled so leniently. Number four, school teacher detained following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a minor. Officers arrive at a residence to arrest a school teacher on probable cause related to serious misconduct allegations involving a minor. They move him out of public view to keep the scene discreet for nearby children and neighbors. >> What's your name? >> Gerald for a little bit and we'll get back to you. >> Sir, I have an attorney here. So, put your hands behind your back. Both hands behind your back, sir. For what? So, I'll explain that in a minute. >> Just so you know, you're being audio and video recorded. Then we'll move back there. So, we're out of view of the kids. >> What is happening? >> We'll explain it here in a second. >> Okay. I'm going to walk you over here. >> I'll be here. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. beyond the truck. You're not in view of anything. [Applause] Walk about the situation to your wife. >> It is okay. Yes. >> Okay, we'll head up this way and I'll be able to explain the situation right >> I can take care of that here. >> I I'll fix that for you. All right. >> Is it your shoulders that are hurting or the wrist? >> No, it's the actual wrist. >> It's the actual wrist. Okay. The man is confused and visibly anxious, particularly about the tightness of the cups on his wrist. As they pat him down and collect his belongings, they read him his rights. Once we get up here, pat you down to your right. Okay. We'll still explain what's going on. Yep. So, just face that way down the road. Can you go ahead and widen your stance, sir? You have anything on you? >> I've got a wallet. >> Which Where's your wallet located? >> Right here. >> Okay, I can take your I'll go ahead and take care of those for you. >> I might have a set of keys in my back pocket. >> Okay. I'm going to go ahead and lift your arms up just for a second so I can take your back out. That's my readers. Okay, hold this just a napkin. Anything in this little pocket here? Sure. Right. I I that's all right. >> All right. So, I'm going to go ahead and read your rights. >> Johnson. We have one in custody. >> Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right at this time to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you. >> April, custody. >> You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand these right each of these rights I have read to you? >> He acknowledges them but chooses not to answer questions without his lawyer present. >> How to contact him? I mean, >> okay, let me rephrase that. I messed up on the one. Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you? >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? >> I would rather talk with my attorney. >> Okay. >> So, we'll just take that as invoking your rights. Um, we will explain. So, we developed probable cause for your arrest for degree. So, that's why we're here putting you in handcuffs and we're taking you to jail today. We won't ask you any questions regarding what happened. >> Is my wife able to hear this? So I I I told her I told her I'm arrested for your hands. >> Yeah. >> Do you have anything that we need to bring down with you? A phone, a wallet, any medication. >> What do you want to be arrested for? >> In the first degree, >> we have a probable cause after they have it written up. It'll be turned in with you to the jail. Your lawyer can look over it and explain everything that's going on, what's written in there. Okay. >> I I don't have a choice. It sounds like >> No. No. No, I mean this is what's happening. You are going to jail tonight. >> And you said the right cup is the one that's bothering me. Correct. It is. I will. >> We don't need to make this any more uncomfortable. >> I just don't understand because I literally >> Do you want your daughter over here? >> Sure. >> If he allows it. [Applause] Yes. Do you have any medications? Do you have any you talk with them? >> He has He needs his blood pressure meds. Yes, absolutely. >> You want to go grab those for him, I think. Does he have a phone or anything? >> He might. I should get that from him. If you want, >> you can come. You can come talk to him. He's okay with you coming over. >> Yeah. His daughter soon arrives trying to keep the situation calm. She reminds him that the justice system is supposed to handle these allegations seriously, but also assures him that the burden of proof lies with the prosecution. >> All right, Dad. It's, you know, >> we got everything. I got his phone. >> You got your phone and stuff? >> No, mom does. >> Okay. So, >> do I need my phone? >> You know, Dad, >> it's nice to have once you're released. >> Yeah, I probably should have it. And you know any it's we're happy that they take things like this seriously and you know anytime there's like >> any sort of allegation like you have to take it seriously and but the burden of proof is on the justice system and you've been doing wrong and everything's okay. >> So I guess what I mean my wife and I are fully aware of the accusation. >> Yeah. >> And um excuse me. Can I finish talking right here? >> Yeah. I'll just open the door. Sorry about that. So, the last event that I remember taking place is that officer uh Leland tried to contact me. >> Mhm. >> And I said, "Well, I have an attorney cuz he was wanting to bring you in for questioning, >> right?" Yeah. You don't Yeah. >> So, at this point, you've invoked your rights, so you don't have to talk to us. We're not going to ask any questions about anything. So, >> please you guys, >> if you can go ahead and take over there, please. Um but um wait, what about his blood pressure meds? You put it in? >> Yep. We're going to go we're going to go get that. Do you want to go grab those right now? We'll wait for you. >> You can ask me questions while we walk back. >> I'm trying to get you'll be able to contact him at the jail. >> Oh, wait. I know what I was going to say. What happened? Is Is he Are you just going to go book and then set bail and we can go pick him up? He'll judge. >> So, so we're done talking for now. Okay. So, we're going to get him in the back. Roll the window down. You can chat with him. Okay. Do you mind just standing over there? >> Let's go get his blood pressure medication. >> Yep. We won't leave yet. Come on. >> We won't leave. >> Okay. And you can't leave her guest at the house right now. So, you actually can't walk up with me. >> That's fine. I'll wait right out here. The daughter asked questions about the legal process, including how to access the probable cause document and when he will see a judge. >> I think this is phone and the medication. >> So, when can like they see like the probable cause affidavit and stuff like that? >> That's a great question for the lawyer. >> I don't I don't deal with any of that. We just >> It's not like you don't when you serve an arrest warrant, you don't have like where's the arrest warrant? >> So, we don't have an arrest warrant. It's just a probable cause that we're arresting him on. So, but why I thought you couldn't arrest someone without an um an arrest warrant? >> Nope. We absolutely can arrest on a probable cause. >> Oh, okay. Yep. So, there's a probable cause affidavit somewhere, >> correct? And you don't have to show him. >> We do not. No, we give it to the jail and the his attorney will have access to it at that point. >> Okay. A And you're not allowed to give it to anyone else. Like if I asked to look at it? >> I'm not required to give it to anyone. >> You're not required. But are you allowed to? >> I'm not going to give it to anybody else. It's for it's his case. He will have access to it. >> So my dad will have access to it if he gives consent. Can you get >> Yes. And you can get it to him. He He can get it to you now though. I do not have it with me. >> You'll have like a paper that you show up at the door. >> It'll it'll be available to him when he gets booked. >> When he gets booked? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> And he can make a phone call as soon as he's through booking. >> Can Can I go to the jail, too? And like >> I mean, it's not going to do anything. He He has to wait to see a judge in the morning. >> Uhhuh. and then the judge will set bail and then his attorney and him will work it out. There's really not a whole lot you can do right now besides help get his medications and make sure he's he's has everything he needs when he goes. So, I don't want to prolong this with your neighbors watching and everything. I I don't want to make this more uncomfortable than it needs to be. >> The officers try to avoid drawing unnecessary attention from neighbors and keep the interaction measured and respectful. >> Are you able to get his medications? >> My mom just said, I don't know what she did. Is she in the motor home? You getting his meds? >> Look, we really need to get his meds cuz we need to get out of here. >> Okay. >> Can you Can you go get his meds for me, please? >> I don't live with him. I don't care. >> Okay. All right. Um, so you'll call him now and tell him that we've spoken. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you so much. >> And he just got me something. >> He's I'm not going to waste my time talking to you if you don't get if you don't. >> Mom, I need the meds. I'm just freaking out. >> Where the meds are? Look for his bed. Okay. Throughout the arrest, the family expresses confusion and stress, but complies with the process. >> Where are you? >> Right here. Okay, I'll take them. >> Yeah. >> All right. Thank you. >> Okay. You said I could talk to you. >> Yeah, you can talk to him through the window. >> Um Okay. >> Yeah. You don't want to be here too much longer. >> Oh my gosh. You guys have neighbors and want to make it a bigger deal than it needs to be. >> Thank you. Okay. >> Okay. >> No, he said I could say something else to you. >> So, you can talk too much. I don't want you put your fingers on the bars or anything like that. Okay. >> Oh, no. Um, right. It's okay. Can I say? >> I mean, you're welcome to. Again, we don't really want to be here longer than >> Oh, okay. >> And we have to be just cuz you guys have neighbors. >> Were you able to grab his phone? >> Oh, his phone. >> Yeah. >> I didn't know that's what we were getting. I thought we >> phone and blood medications. I mean, >> yeah. Okay. get all this information >> and I called him. He's going to call you. He said just don't say anything without him there. >> There's a process, right? >> I want to make sure that >> but I'll be there. I'll be there tomorrow and I'll go get your phone. Okay. >> So, I don't want it to be a big family affair out here, right? I don't want you guys to call your neighbors. >> The focus now shifts to the court system and legal defense with his family preparing to support him through what comes next. selling situation. We'll all get it worked out for the court system. >> Everything will be need attorney. We can free to share that with you guys. We're not going to do this out here and talk a long time. We're not like that right now. I just think that like it would be comforting to find what we get to see here and like nobody can see it yet. Um so I want to see it and I was told that like they said it's now like now that it's not current investigation. Not right now. >> Oh. So like it'll be released to his attorney. So he's going to have a court date tomorrow. I don't know for sure. He's going to stand before a judge. Problems will be read and attorney judge make a decision. that happens, we're allowed to hear, right? >> So, public gets public. Um, I don't know when the date's going to be. I don't know what the time's going to be. >> Afro may be notified. >> You can get all this information attorney. That's that's where you're going to get the best information. I can't give you guys legal advice. I can't give you any guys court days. I give you information. All we do is transport him to jail. We book him in. After that, the process is out of our hands. It's all in the course. >> So, if you know how to even see a judge in jail for a long time, >> you'll most likely see a judge tomorrow, but I can't guarantee it. So, I just want you to understand I understand. It's fine. >> Okay. >> Thanks. >> It's it's good that through the justice system, we want things to be taken seriously. It's fine. >> Right. I don't want to violate that. >> I know, you know, please don't Okay. >> They also clarify that while he'll be allowed to make a phone call from jail, he won't be allowed to take his phone with him unless it's officially booked in with his property, which they recommend against for privacy reasons. >> You guys get his phone. >> Okay. For you or for him? >> For him. >> Okay. So, you're not taking this, huh? >> No, no, no. If you book it in the jail with him, he'll get it when he gets out. >> Anyways, yeah, but he he uses the jail phone. So, if he doesn't know any phone numbers and they're all on his phone, my mom's phone number. >> Can he use this phone? >> He can use it. It'll be booked into with his property. >> No, no, no, we won't do that. >> Don't do that. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Yep. No phone. They don't want to book it in. Oh, >> no phone. >> Okay. >> She said she didn't feel comfortable booking it in with you unless you really want it. >> Well, I How do I call my attorney? >> You can use the the jail >> the jail phone. Yeah. As long as you have the number. >> Yep. >> We'll help you out. >> Yeah. In the end, the man is investigated for nearly a month before being taken into custody and booked into Watcom County Jail. Number three, graduation ceremony disrupted by angry parents outburst. At a high school graduation ceremony, a father ends up in handcuffs after an argument with his older brother spirals into a scene that requires police intervention. Things start to go sideways when the man refuses to leave the premises, insisting that he can't go without seeing his daughter. >> I got you. Out. Go get it. Get out of here. >> You're done. I'm out. >> You got You got two options right now. Listen. We're done. We're done. I'm gone, bro. >> You got to go. You got to go. This is your family. >> I have her. >> You got to go. Go out, please. We got to make this work. >> Don't make it worse. >> Yo. Yo, where's Jazelle at? >> Yo, bring her to me. >> Listen, bring her to me. >> Don't take the scene. >> I know. I know. I know. >> Don't make it work. >> This your family to me. >> Look at me. Talk to me. What are you talking about? >> Look at me. Leave it. It's fine. It's good. It's all good. >> Daughter's graduation. Why would you come and do something? >> Look at me. Don't get my daughter. Get out my face. I don't. Hey out, man. We out. I don't none of that. Listen. >> Get him out and go off and my daughter. Please. >> You got to go right now. >> You're going to make this work. >> I have a kid. >> I understand. >> You got This is your to me. Listen. Listen. >> Y'all told me a cop got my daughter. Which one? >> We got it though. She got to go home. >> Listen. Go get them out. They got me. Go get my car in the car. >> Go get her. Where's your car? >> Right there. >> Let's walk over to your car. I >> have a 13-y old kid. I understand this, sir. I had no problems with nobody car. >> Then go get her. Just bring it to me. I'm out. >> Ask you to walk to your car. >> But I can't leave my kid. She's calling me crying. >> I get that. I'm a father. We're all >> father up there in a graduation ceremony. So this is >> unacceptable. This whole I'm not leaving. It's not. >> No, I am leaving. I'm going home. I just need my kid. >> Okay, >> that's it. >> Which car is yours? Tell me which car. >> The one with that have the kid in it. That's one. I just need my daughter. I'm leaving right now. Which car over here is your >> There's a truck over there, sir. >> Let's walk to her. >> Then bring her. Stop telling me that. Bring her to me. >> Officers try multiple times to get him to walk to the car, but he resists. Driven by emotion and fear that his daughter might be left alone or in the wrong hands. >> You're all family there, right? >> Listen, I just need my daughter. You know what I'm saying? I understand that. >> Your son, we tried our best to get him to leave. >> He was going that way. >> When he decided to rip his shirt off, turn around and start charging >> brother, father, whoever it was that was back here, older brother. >> Yeah. >> Okay. In a fighting stance, and we have to take our tasers out and almost tase him to stop him. >> Okay. >> We can't let it go. >> Okay. >> Okay. He's going for resistance. without violence. That's the charge. >> Obstruction resistance officer without violence. It's a misdemeanor. They will put a bond on it at the jail. I'm not 100% on the cost, but it's like $2,500. >> 250 like I said. >> Yeah. Correct. Correct. >> Does he have to see a judge or can you bond out? >> He can bond out >> tonight. Yes. Okay. Then a charge that he has to see a judge for. Okay. >> Okay. >> It's not one of those where you're going to wait to see the judge in the morning. >> Okay. So, he Yes, he will be able to bond out tonight. >> So, Okay. Could I ask a question? Yes. Rather than letting the daughter see him stand here and get >> We have another card is coming. If you if you're comfortable taking her, that's fine. >> Oh, yes. My grand absolutely. That is that your >> My other grandson. >> Your other grandson has his wallet and Yes. his jewelry and stuff. He's got all that right there. >> Okay. I know some of you aren't from the area. >> I am. >> Okay. And I am. Do you know where our jail is? >> Yeah, I know. Okay. >> I can call >> on on Airport Road. >> Give it a little bit of time. Give it a couple hours cuz he's got to get processed through and everything. That's probably going to be the car that's going to going to transport for us. That's all. >> That's all. >> Do you want to talk to Diamond? >> Do you want to talk? >> No, don't. She's going to take her inside. We just wanted to take her before y'all do that. >> That's fine. >> His mother steps in to care for the child. And law enforcement confirms she won't be left alone or in danger. >> Okay. >> It's okay, Diamond. I got this. If if you're going to go if they're going to let you back in with her, that's great, please. If you want to go do that now, so she doesn't have to see anything else, that would be fantastic. >> I just don't want her to um >> Okay, >> I understand that. >> So, he's going to be taking it. >> Are you transporting? >> No. No one might. >> Okay. No, he he's just one of the patrol supervisors for the area. Okay. There's somebody coming. >> So, he's not being resistant. So, he >> Now, he's not he's settled down. >> He's not going to be resistant. >> He's settling down now. >> We We tried. We tried very hard. Okay. >> You You hit the nail on the head. >> He's hot. He got hotheaded. He let it get to him. >> You know, whatever Whatever the beef is that he has with his brother, >> it got to him. I get he's concerned about his daughter. >> So, this is who's going to take him? >> That That might be the one there. Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> I just want I'm not going to go over there. I just want to see who they are. I'm just let him see. >> We're going back inside. They're going to take you. We're going to post bail now. Your mom's going to take care of your daughter. >> I got a bunch here that I can turn loose if you need them. >> That's your mom. >> What's that? >> That's mom, right? >> That's my daughter. >> I understand that. >> Okay. Just hang tight for me. Okay. That's your mom, right? >> Your mom wants your mom and that your sister. Is it >> friend? >> Family friend. Whatever that is. They're going to get my dog back into the place with my friend. >> They're going to get you out. I already explained everything to them. >> I'm listening. >> No, you're you're not listening on it. >> Okay, listen. Here's our two choices now. Right now, we got one of two choices. You either zip it, let your family take your daughter. >> You listen cuz you're not listening now. You're starting to get hotheaded again. Two choices here. You pick the best one for your daughter. she stays with your family or you call DCF and she goes with them. That's her only option. >> The father is relieved but still emotional, expressing regret over the incident. Officers emphasized that the decision to arrest wasn't taken lightly. They had hoped to avoid it, but his refusal to cooperate gave them no other option. >> And then she stayed custoy. [Music] >> We are trying to work with you. We've been trying to work with you since you came down. >> You're not the one that's allowing it to happen. >> I understand that's your daughter. >> We're trying to do the best thing for your daughter right now. >> And so is your mom. Your mom wants to take her inside so your daughter doesn't see you get put in the back of a patrol car and hauled off. >> And I'm fine with that. >> She's already seen enough. [Music] All right, >> time to move on, my man. Toward that car there, buddy. >> This one right there. >> Go ahead and take a seat in here for the seat belt, please. >> Before being transported, the father is told that the charges are misdemeanors and he will likely be able to bond out that night. Number two, high school student arrested after contraband found on campus. A 19-year-old student finds herself in serious trouble when school staff and a deputy pull her aside over suspected possession of illegal substances. Here's what happens next. >> So, you're an adult, right? >> Yeah. >> I don't know. You're apparently new here. >> She's 19. She's >> right. So, you're an adult, right? So, here's the deal. Like, you go if I I don't know exactly how this is going to go, but one of the cards on the table is you're going to jail today. >> Wait, what? >> Correct. Depending on what those are, there's a possibility that you may go to jail today, >> right? So, >> just because someone reported, >> you have illegal substances in your possession. >> Not everyone at school does, too. >> Everybody. Yes. >> Every single kid. >> Not every single kid, but some do. >> And matter of fact, >> so you're not you wouldn't be the first kid I arrested this school year. >> So, here's >> And I can promise you, you're not going to be the last. >> I don't want to be arrested. >> Okay. This is not how life goes. You don't get to choose when you bring illegal stuff to a high school. Is that okay? >> When you bring illegal stuff to a high school, what you want kind of goes out the window. I don't know if you understand that. >> But >> so here here's my other thing is I think that what you have is the pen that these screw into. >> No, I don't >> right here. >> I don't. That's someone else's. >> Okay. It's someone else's. All right. So I don't have it. >> You don't have it on took it. >> Who took it? >> Is it someone who goes to school here? the person that literally probably named me here. >> Okay. So, what I'm thinking is you have something >> you have something right here. You already have >> You decided it was a good idea to take in possession all this stuff knowing it's illegal >> and that you're an adult >> and that you're an adult. >> Yeah. >> Why? I didn't I didn't know that someone was going to tell on me that I was holding their stuff. >> Who was it? >> She was blonde with glasses. >> So So it's a stranger now. >> No, it's not a stranger. I've known her. >> She's visibly shaken but tries to explain that the cartridges aren't hers. She says someone asked her to hold them. >> Never really got her name. >> You never So it's a somebody you don't even know their name. is in blonde and she asked me for my name. I never asked. >> So she asked you for your name then proceeded to give you felonious items. Items that can result in a felony criminal charge for you to hold. And when were you going to meet up? When are we going to give it back to this person? >> Like in the bathroom later. >> What bathroom? >> Like I don't know. They go into different bathrooms. So, so how were you going to give it back to them? What was the plan? So, people just give people stuff and just say, "I will find you later." >> Yeah, >> that's how it works. This is the first I'm hearing of this. Very rarely is it that much of a shadow. >> But today, she did ask me, "Hey, can you hold this?" And then ask me my name. And then now I'm right here for the first time ever for this type of stuff and I'm about to get arrested. >> You know it's illegal. If I give you a gun and I say you hold it for me, are you going to hold it? >> Okay. So if I give you fat, you going to hold it for me? >> No. It's just that >> I didn't know. >> I give you going to hold it for me. >> Who do you live with? >> Grandma. >> Grandma. She has cancer. >> So what are you doing? >> What are you You're an adult. What are you doing? This is how you solve it. By offering drugs to kids on campus. This is how you kids. What do you think? What do you think? >> Oh my god. Those are not mine. >> Okay. Why are you holding >> for my friend? >> That's being depressed or that's being >> I think being depressed and holding drugs friend are two different things. My friend table. >> Yeah. I got my stuff for you. >> Thank you. >> No. Oh my god. They're not mine. So why are you holding them? >> Unfortunately, I just want you to understand. No, I understand. You don't have to dumb it down. >> If this person doesn't if we can't locate this person, this person doesn't come forward and identify it as theirs, you're going to be responsible for it. >> Despite her efforts to appear cooperative, the adults challenge her story. They remind her that being an adult means facing adult consequences. And just holding the items, regardless of who owns them, can result in criminal charges. >> And you are. >> No, I know I am. And that's why I'm really stressed out. >> Okay. And so whatever you have on your person cuz I think you stop stop it anyway. >> Stop. I'm going to turn it over to law enforcement. So whatever >> I don't have anything. >> Whatever you have, >> you got to just give it to Mrs. We're going to step out. You're going to give it to Mrs. Duon and it's going to go with this. >> I don't have anything. >> Okay. Then this then this is what happens because it is now turned over to law enforcement and law enforcement has a female officer come in in a secluded room and they search you. >> So here's the deal and that's if it goes that way. If it doesn't then you're going to go to the jail and they're going to search you >> they're going to search you at the jail. If you bring something to the jail it's a felony an additional felony. >> So right now if you have anything we're going to it is important that you just give it to us. >> We're trying to help you. This is us. This is done. If you have something on you, they will escort you to the jail. They will search you there. If you have something on you at the jail, >> you're getting search at the jail. Every person that comes into the jail, >> I know that >> they do full searches. >> So, you have something like >> Where is the Where is the Where's the piercing located? >> Near my >> Is it like >> Do we not have any more awkward questions, please? I'm already going to jail for the first time. I feel like I feel like I feel like I feel like we're all being adults about this situation. >> Okay, >> this is my first time. I'm going to jail. >> I got you. >> I think I'm feeling >> I understand that, but I'm >> She becomes increasingly emotional, repeating that she didn't plan to keep or use the items and only agreed to help someone she thought she recognized. But her reasoning doesn't hold up. >> I just said again, you chose to get this piercing. So, it's like >> can't be that much of a surprise. We're having this conversation. Well, I need to ensure that I need to ensure that >> what's going on here is that's actually what it is. >> Yeah, I understand that. >> So, I I've been nothing but professional with you. Obviously, I'm frustrated by the situation because like I don't understand why you're not understanding what's going on. >> I understand that. Can I use the bathroom? >> I can't even pee. You cannot use the restroom at all >> cuz you're now in the police. >> Oh, I know. I know that from the deputy champion. >> Hold it. >> Enough to get a couple of these. I'm pretty sure these are these are cheap for sure. >> She said that they that they're >> Yeah, they probably are. >> Yeah, they are. I arrested someone before spring break for this same brand. [Applause] This one. I don't know what it is cuz this one isn't the same. >> It's not labeled. >> Yeah. >> So, if this other person gave you up and that's what you're saying, besides blonde and glasses, what does this person look like? >> She's tan. >> And what bathroom was this this take place in? >> What bathroom? >> And what time? >> Oh my god. Do you not recall? >> I've heard some of my other friends say that some people love to tell on them on purpose even if they also smoke as well. >> People Someone telling on somebody else. >> No, they have hate. You have no idea. >> But you said >> they also asked you to hold. They asked for the full story, hoping to verify her claims through security footage and student interviews. >> No, I didn't anything. >> No, they asked you said that this person asked you to hold their stuff for them. >> Yeah. >> So, it was downstairs between what classes? >> Um, fifth. >> So, it's during fifth. >> Yeah. >> Or >> And I heard someone nearby say, "Oh, watch out. There's a tattletail in here?" >> In the middle of fifth period. >> Yeah. Either >> during class. During or um before or after? >> During before or after >> that's like that's like an hour time frame. >> That doesn't really help me. I'm We're trying to help We're trying to help you >> ask you before >> before >> downstairs 200 before fifth period >> in the bathroom. >> In the bathroom. Okay. >> Do you remember what she was wearing? >> Not as much. >> She have any distinguishing features? Glasses. and glasses. Downstairs 200 building restroom >> before fifth period is the one that she >> She gave you the stuff in the bathroom or outside of the bathroom. >> Inside if it was outside. I'm pretty sure the camera was >> like in the in front of the bathroom or in the bathroom. Inside of the bathroom. Okay. >> She She gave her that stuff and asked her her name. >> Hey, what's your name? I said Natalia and then I left. >> Okay. Well, break it down for me the whole situation. start from the beginning. >> I went to the restroom. Okay. >> Talking to some of my friends. >> Okay. >> And then she um she was like, "Hey, can you >> She was in there. She came in after." >> She was in there. She came in and I'm pretty sure some of her friends were smoking with her. >> Did you see them? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you you're not pretty sure you you saw them smoking. And uh one of her friends like oh remember last time and then you know and then she came >> no I don't know >> her details are inconsistent in general raising further suspicion. >> I don't like it's because of >> I can't arrest you. I can't charge you for you buying in the past. So that's what you did or what happened in the past. I can't >> Oh my god. You're just not waiting. Okay. So >> you're not explaining it. So, she came up to me after me talking to her friend and then she's like, "Hey, can you hold my stuff and then she u I was about to leave." She's like, "What's your name?" And then I say, "Natalia." And then I leave. >> What was her friend's name? >> How did she give it to you? Like in your hand? In the bag? >> In your hand? >> Wow. [Applause] She's 19. >> She's 19. >> Yep. >> Yeah. >> There. I mean, there's enough for sure to to get from for this one. I don't know what it is, but these are legit from California based on uh I made a 1015 before spring break, but she had these in there, too. These are >> this is packaging. >> This is the packaging for these neon ones. And it's uh Yeah. >> Yeah. This is like the real stuff. So, baby, I'll call him. Yeah. >> So, how does she hand you? He's like, "Can you can you hold these? These are empty." >> And you said, "Sure." >> Yeah. They're empty. >> Are they though? >> Yeah. >> You sure about that? I mean, some of these have oil in them. >> You just told me they're empty. I guess at one point they stopped working. >> Sure. As the officer explains the gravity of the situation, the teen continues to downplay her actions and offers shifting excuses. >> She told me >> um you should know not to take things from strangers, especially that are related. I think that's what you should know versus whether they're empty or not. I mean, common sense, unfortunately. >> Being kind. being kind by taking >> you oh taking the carts from someone that wanted you to hold them for a bit and then she asks you your name >> if you want to church them up if you want to church it up however you want >> church it I'm not I'm not Christian >> that's it's a figure of speech this is not like what I'm saying is you're taking it and you're sugar coating it >> it's not sugar coating >> so taking from somebody >> you put pronouns on it that >> that's what it is. >> Okay. In the eyes of the law, there's no uh possession of a it's possession of a oil, possession of right. So, I speak in legal terms. I don't care what the kids say. What? Cuz the kids are the reason why you're in this position. >> No, I know that. >> So, let's not talk like kids. Let's talk like adults cuz you're an adult. >> I nearly went to jail in Miami because this girl said I had a gun at school. They checked my bag and everything. And I even showed them the text messages of her going to my house. Literally fighting me. And also they found nothing. It was my birthday. >> Sure. I understand that is a situation that >> Did you live in Miami? Cuz I thought you came from Georgia. Did you live in Miami? >> I came from Miami then I went to Georgia cuz my mom moved us. >> To move forward with the investigation, officers ask her to provide more information about the owner of the paraphernalia. Yeah, I don't know what the situation was in Miami. I have nothing to do with that. Um, what I can tell you is we have illegal eggs. >> You're going to have to watch out a ton of kids. >> We're in the process of doing that. >> No, they're being coming. >> I understand that school students, too. >> I'm That's why I'm here. >> Wait, why elementary school students? because of people like you who are engaging in allowing this stuff to continue instead of coming and notifying people about what's going on. >> Excuse me. To be honest, >> that's not >> If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. I'm sorry to tell you that. >> Yeah, true. But also, >> what's up? >> Trolls on the line. >> Okay. >> They're going to bring I mean, we know what it is. >> Yeah. >> How >> why she got so many of them? >> Saying someone gave it to her. >> Her friend told her no. A girl that asked her name asked her to hold them. >> All six of them. >> I knew her. >> Yeah. But you don't know. You know, you don't even know her name. >> She told of course I didn't know her name. I >> She told you to hold the boxes, too. >> They looked pretty. She's like, "You want them?" >> You don't want to help yourself out or do you want to go to jail today? Like, what do you want to do? >> I don't want to go to jail. So, some mysterious female told you, "These boxes look pretty. Do you want them?" And gave you six V. >> That That's the story. >> She literally asked me in the restroom. >> Yes or no? >> Yes. >> Okay. What restroom? >> Down. We got all that info. They're trying to pull cameras right now. >> So, when I go sit in my cameras and I pay attention downstairs, too, she's got >> I'm going to see a female >> come out and then you come out. But her vague and inconsistent responses raised serious doubts about her story. >> No, I came out first. I said she asked me my name before I left. >> What she look like? >> Blonde glasses. Tan. >> What's she wearing? >> What color? >> Blonde. >> Blonde. >> What's she wearing? Glasses >> wearing. >> Yeah. >> What normal teenagers, girls wear? >> Give me a color. Shirt, pants. >> I think white. >> Any identifying factors? So, all I'm looking for is a blonde female tan with glasses. >> Yeah. >> So, you're too >> tall. Short >> fifth before fifth period. >> Shortish. Shortish. >> Like my height. >> So, what happens when that this female doesn't exist? Then what? Are we going to have another conversation? >> She asked her name >> and you didn't ask her name. That's >> why would I like a random random person I see every day. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, let me ask you >> asked me to hold some things. >> So, this random person >> didn't ask finally ask me my name. I think it was a nice thing. I tell her my name and I leave the restroom. >> But you said your friends knew her. >> Yeah. >> So, this random >> Who are your friends? >> Who is your friends that know her? >> That know her. Cuz we can ask your friends who the girl is. >> They're not going to tell. >> Okay. >> What's your friends names? >> One is in my class. I don't talk to her. So, I'm >> So, you got friends that you don't talk to now. You got random people that you see every day, which kind of defies the fact of random >> students, >> but you said that there's 2600 kids. >> Your friends, >> you said classmate. You said you had friends know her >> in the restroom that knew them. >> Girl, >> who was that friend and I can go ask her like who the girl's name is? >> Mia what? >> Mia. >> Mia. >> Mia. >> Mia. >> Mia. >> What does Mia look like? >> She doesn't smoke, but she's um She has um she's skinny, tan, glasses, like a >> blond hair. >> No, brown brown blond and in a scruff. The girl I'm talking about is basically a little white girl that you got. >> The deputy then challenges her perspective, asking how she'd react if someone handed her a firearm or narcotics. Driving home just how serious her actions are. >> No. This random girl that hand you still ain't got classes with her. She in the same grade as you think so. >> You think so? All right. Let me ask you something. If this random girl asks you to hold a gun, you going to take it? >> No. >> Okay. So, what is the difference? >> The logic of children thinking they're doing something. >> You're not a child. You're an adult. You're 19 years old. You can't blame You can't blame the fact that you're a child that children. >> Yeah. Okay. Be a coffee. >> It's her friend. But she's not the friend that did that. >> I understand. >> But you're the She's the friend that knows the other friend. >> I'm going tell you another thing. You better hope I don't find out you're selling this stuff. >> No, I'm not selling. I'm not making profit off that. No. >> All right. So, I'm Deputy Sugar. >> No, I know what you're coming here for. >> Okay. Do you have anything on you? >> No, they took it. >> Okay. >> And uh I my boyfriend bought it for me. >> Do you think it's smart that you hold on to it though? >> No. I thought I just didn't know if someone would tow on me. I didn't share it with anyone. >> That doesn't matter. You're still in possession of it. >> Okay. >> I know it doesn't matter. >> You have nothing on you at all. Okay. You understand that if you go to the jail and they find anything on you, it's a felony. >> Because if you found anything, I'm pretty sure I'll be more trouble. >> Yeah. At this point, you probably had ample amounts of chances. >> No. >> To say if you have anything else on you. I was just really stupidly scared and I get like that sometimes. >> Okay, so here's what we're going to do. I'm going to have you face up against the wall. >> All right. Like you you said, you don't have anything on you, right? No. Go ahead. Spread your feet further. >> I used to play myself. I never been caught with that in this whole >> The situation escalates and she's eventually placed under arrest. As she faces the wall for a search, she admits she's disappointed in herself and repeatedly says she's sorry. >> Doesn't matter. You shouldn't have it regardless. How old are you? I'm >> 19. Two shirts. >> You have two shirts on underneath. >> No, it's more like a bra. Oh, that's >> tank top. [Music] >> Her actions. >> I'm really sorry. Don't even apologize to me. >> I'm saying sorry to them. >> You don't have to be sorry. We just gave you ample opportunity. >> No, I know that. You don't have to tell me that like a thousand times. I already destroyed the opportunity. >> You've done nothing but lie from the get-go. >> Stop. >> All right, take a second. Go ahead and sit back down. Yeah. All right. You might not have service anymore. >> In the end, she's escorted away, facing real legal consequences. Number one, college girl refuses to leave pool party. And it gets awkward fast. A public pool party takes a chaotic turn when a college girl refuses to leave after being asked by staff and fellow attendees. Police arrive at the scene to address the disturbance caused by the intoxicated individual. So, she's the one you're wanting to leave. >> Yeah. All right. You're gone. So, let's get you a ride. >> What the is that? >> Let's Let's get you a ride. >> No. No. >> Yes. >> No. >> Who's Who's here with her? >> I'm good. I'm not I'm not okay. I'm good. I'm good. But >> you're not good. You're cry. You're sitting on the asphalt crying cuz you have the inability to listen to directions. You're an adult. I'm not doing it. >> And then I show up and you call me [ __ ] and what the [ __ ] ever else. So, we got two options. >> I'm good. >> You're not good. Would you shut your mouth? >> I'm tired of hearing it. >> It was never that serious. >> It is. They asked you to leave. I'm here because you won't shut your mouth and now you're saying I'm good. I'm good. You're not >> that serious. >> Bunch of adults that can't act right. >> The woman clearly under the influence becomes argumentative and uncooperative making it difficult for officers to handle the situation calmly. >> You want to go to jail? >> You want to go to jail? I'm going to pull my car back here since I got the dog in it and there's a bunch of drunk people out there probably. Despite their repeated instructions, she remains defiant, interrupting them, crying, and making incoherent statements. Her behavior quickly turns a straightforward removal into a prolonged encounter. >> So, her brother's on her phone, but he's an hour out. >> Yeah, we ain't sitting an hour. I can promise you that. >> She getting a squad or anything or no? >> If she wants to get checked out, she just got a little skin here. But >> that's up to >> What the I do. What the y'all?
