Hi, I'm Captain Bill Lance, spokesman for the Yria Police Department. Sometimes in law enforcement after an incident, we look back on it and you can find a little bit of humor. Today, we wanted to share with you the details of a of a recent arrest. In the early morning hours of January 15th, with Ayria buried under several inches of fresh snow, two individuals thought that this would be the perfect time to break into Johnny K Motorsports and make off with a pair of dirt bikes. Unfortunately for them, they overlooked one key detail. That fresh snow leaves fresh tracks. What followed was less of a wellplanned heist and more of a comedy of errors. Something straight out of Home Alone, featuring our very own version of the Wet Bandits. We're calling these two the Snow Bandits. Our officers were able to track these suspects from the shattered glass to the bikes in the woods and across a ravine ultimately to an apartment building where they were located and placed under arrest. The snow bandits definitely didn't think this one through. Come join us and take a look as how everything unfolded that particular night from the moment that the officers arrived at the scene to following the the the tracks in the snow, recovering the bikes and making the arrest. It may seem like a comedy, but this was a serious crime. And thanks to the excellent police work, these suspects are now in custody. >> Bicycle. >> Yeah, those are leaving tracks. >> They're coming and going. >> Whoever hit the uh Giant Hazes moving on a bicycle. >> There's two sets of tracks. So, it's two at least two people. But these tracks are pointing this way, >> right? But those ones are going that way along the bike. >> All right. Well, >> I'm just going to start walking on foot. >> I'm going to go grab a hat. I'll come with you. >> Yeah, that's honestly that's probably going to go all the way to the wood line. >> And then they probably took the bump over the woods, >> right? The farthest the farthest right over there is the way they came in. Cuz if you look at their drag marks, right? >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's where they went. Myself and 189 are going to be following tracks. Looks like they're going to be going to the back of this apartment complex. >> Sorry. >> That's where they're That's where they started. >> They got me. >> Okay. >> And then they tracked it right. You can see the tire marks getting dragged in there. >> Yeah, they dragged them through the woods right here. All right, let's go get these boys. >> Houses on the other side. Yeah. Oh, we got one. Hold on. Hold on. We got two. All right. We got both of the bikes ditched in the ravine. Yes, we have both orange, white, and black bikes ditched in the ravine before the creek. >> Those are fresh. Yeah. Fresh fish. [music] [music] >> [music] >> There's not much to do with Get up now. Get up. Get up. We got two gun. Get up. >> Get up. >> Stand up. You come to me. You come to me. >> Stand up. You stay where you're at. >> Keep your hands. Come to me. Turn around. Stop. Drop whatever's in your hand. Drop it. Any weapons on you at all? >> I'm not pulling your hair right now. >> Any weapons on you at all? >> What? >> Use your voice. >> You want to do literally >> [music] [music]
