Hey, can you not point my gun at me, please? >> Please not point my gun at me, dude. There there's one chambered in there and you're pointing that gun at me, dude. >> It's on safe. >> I'm here to know what you're doing. I got dispatcher saying to give you a description of a meal with your description that's just recording in here. Feel uncomfortable. >> Do you witness a crime or something? >> Yep. No, that's not You got to have a warrant before you open somebody's door. You should know that by now. That's illegal as you did opening my door without a warrant. illegal as and you know that >> today we're talking about times when entitled cops realize they messed up big time. The results of their actions will be shocking, sometimes even hilarious and always eyeopening. From abusing their authority to underestimating everyday people who refuse to back down, these stories show exactly what happens when power gets challenged headon. Let's get started. >> Put your hands up for me, bro. Why you carry around that? >> Because I was just fishing >> with a gun. >> Yes, sir. I was in Florida. We can do this. >> A man calmly explained that he had been fishing and that he carried a rifle and a pistol, which was completely legal in Florida. The police, however, immediately reacted as if they had caught a ninja ready to attack. Instead of showing knowledge of the law, they pulled their weapons on a man who was only talking about fishing. Imagine going out to catch a fish and ending up being treated like you had tried to rob a bank. >> Hey man, what's that? >> Uh, a fishing pole. >> What's the other thing? >> Uh, my AR pistol and my my handgun. >> All right. Put your hands up for me, bro. Why are you carrying around that? >> Because I was just fishing. >> My gun? >> Yes, sir. I was in Florida. We can do this. I don't know, bro. >> I'm letting you know. I'm trying to let you know while you're engaged in fishing, hunting, and camping. You can do this. I'm not touching nothing. Um, is your handgun drawn? >> Get on the ground, bro. >> Is your handgun drawn? >> Yeah. >> I'm not touching nothing. >> No, I don't want to shoot you. >> I'm not trying to I'm not trying to deal with you shooting me. >> Look, man. I'm not trying to do nothing. The irony was that those who were supposed to know the law reacted in the complete opposite way. If this looked like common sense to you, maybe you just watched too many SWAT movies. The police were only getting started with their games, showing us why it was better not to trust them. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on your knees. >> All right. Get your chest on the ground. >> Serious. >> I know. I'm trying to make sure I don't fall on my face. Dude, >> use your hands. >> I'm But if I reach down, I don't want to get shot, man. Hands are out. I'm going as slow as I can without freaking falling my face. Don't shoot me. Please don't shoot me. I'm just doing everything according to law. I'm not doing nothing, man. The the ground is freaking hot, dude. >> Sorry. >> I know. I But it you're you're violating my rights and I'm not doing nothing wrong. >> Well, I I don't need to. >> While lying on the ground, the man kept repeating that he was not a threat and asked citizens to record him, which was his way of defending himself against police abuse. But instead of recognizing his calmness, the officers still stood with their weapons pointed at him. Instead of protection, they became the source of danger. Just think what it meant to live in a country where a camera was the only guarantee that the police wouldn't hurt you. >> Need to figure it out. I already know. >> Okay. >> And that's the thing is I already know about the law. You are the one that doesn't know about the law. >> And you're you're inconvenient me. I'm just trying to keep my stomach. It burns, man. >> I wish you just know the law, man. >> Is it your first day today? >> Please don't point that gun at me, dude. I'm not threatening you, man. I don't know that yet. >> I'm not a threat, dude. >> I'm telling you, I'm not a threat. >> Hey. Yeah. Stay. Please stay where you're at. Record. Please record. >> Get your get your get your phone out and record these. >> The officers lifted him abruptly even as he warned them that his shoulder was injured. They didn't care about a citizen's health or the proportional use of force, only about domination. When he asked them not to pull on his wounded shoulder, it sounded like the simplest of requests. Yet, even basic empathy was not an option for them. Soon, they would prove they weren't just bad people, but also bad cops. >> These guys, please record these guys. >> They got him laid down. He was just fishing. He got on him. >> Please don't point your gun at me, dude. I'm not doing anything. I'm not a threat. I'm not a threat. >> Please. I'm not a threat. I'm not a threat. >> You don't have to step on me, dude. >> I I've already figured it out. You're the one that doesn't know. >> Can you guys please put your guns away and not point them at me? >> Ah, my shoulder. You >> help me get up and take >> Hold on. Hold on. My My left shoulder. I've got shoulder issues and if you start pulling on it, it's going to it's going to agitate it. I was wondering on your backpack to the left or the right. >> Um, we're going to roll to the right. >> All right. >> All right. >> One officer took his weapon and even pointed it at him. The man panicked and begged them to at least not aim a loaded gun in his face. I know. What the police showed was truly unbelievable because you don't see cops acting above the law every day. And that was why what followed was a classic violation of the law committed by the very ones who were supposed to protect it. >> Stay right there for now. >> I I am QD out. Press the button. >> Yes, sir. Press the button. >> I don't consent to any search or seizures of my property. >> I'm not searching. >> You're You're seizing my property. >> I don't want to get shot. I >> I'm not trying to I'm not trying to shoot anybody. That's the issue. >> What is this again? >> It's an AR pistol. It's an AR style pistol. >> It's not a 9 mil. It's a 5.56. It's a rifle caliber pistol. That's with the brace. >> Can you point it down the way? Oh, >> come on, guys. At least treat myself with respect because I'm just getting it back. Hey, can you not point my gun at me, please? Please not point my gun at me, dude. There there's one chambered in there and you're pointing that gun at me, dude. >> Safe, right? >> It's unsafe, but you guys seem like you guys don't >> tuck your knees in so they lift you up in the bash or what? Yeah. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> One, two, three. >> Hey, can you get your suit? >> This looked more like a game of roulette than law enforcement. And no, you couldn't say it wasn't because why else would the police act this way towards someone who, by the way, hadn't even broken the law? Didn't they have anything better to do? Like, well, let's see. Catching criminals. Uh, >> can you loosen this right one just a hair? I'm not going. This one's clamping on the right hand, dude. >> Jesus Christ. I've got my hand I got a handgun, too, man. I'm not trying to resist you guys in the chamber. >> Yes, sir. >> Please, please don't shoot me. How many guns you got on you? >> I only have two. [Music] >> It's a level two. Can you guys just loosen this one just a hair bit? I'm not trying to go nowhere. >> Because I was actually expressing my Second Amendment right under the Florida law. Under Florida law, I can do this. >> Do you not do you do you know the the the statute that allows you to open carry >> while you're engaged in fishing, hunting, and camp? >> The man explained that he openly carried his weapon under the law, quoting the Florida statute word for word. The officers, however, refused to acknowledge the facts. He clearly told them he did not consent to an unlawful seizure. Instead of listening and checking, they ignored him. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have had this much patience to speak politely with police while they were violating my rights. >> I can lawfully do this. >> What? >> All right. Do you have any more guns on you? >> No, sir. No more. There's no more knives. No more guns. No more >> I can't stand up. >> Ready? >> Hold on. >> One, two, three. >> Come on, man. >> I ain't got no fish on me. Can you guys look up Florida statute 790.25 section 3 subsection H please. >> All right. How am I going to get all this crap on my computer? >> Well, you've got handcuffs on me. And once again, if you looked up the statute. >> All right. Will you stop for a minute? You have your ID on you? >> No. Uh maybe. I don't know. >> Well, where would it be? >> I don't consent to any of it. What What crime did I commit? >> Uh open carry in Florida is not >> Unless you're engaged in fishing, hunting, or camping. That's not a crime. To to possess a firearm is not a crime. >> Listen, do you understand that when I'm I'm pulling into a park line? >> The officer started lecturing about where a fisherman was allowed to carry a weapon, even though the law made no such distinction. He calmly answered that he fished on rivers and at sea, which made perfect sense. Their reply, you have to think about where you are. Imagine a law that only applied if an officer thought you were in the right place. I mean, who told them their opinion even mattered? to somebody with what looks like an arrow. >> Man, I was I was actually on my way home until you decided to come out and point guns at me. >> All right. Well, I've got to go home today, too. I don't want to get shot. >> I wasn't pointing guns at >> Listen Listen listen. >> We understand the statute. I know you are in your right. >> Listen to him. >> I understand what you're saying. However, think about where you are right now. You know, Listen, you know damn well that statute's more for rural Florida. Am I right or am I wrong? >> You're wrong. >> I'm wrong >> because I don't fish I don't fish out in the woods, dude. I I I fish on the rivers in the in the freaking ocean. >> Listen Listen to me. Look at where you are right now. Where are you at? >> I am freaking >> John's Pass, right? >> Absolutely. 100%. >> You have to think about where you're at when you're doing that stuff. Am I right? >> No. >> Okay. >> I I just need to know the law. >> I thought you were going to be logical. >> I I am. I just I just need to know the law. Can I call my lawyer, please? >> Whatever you want in a second, man. Hold on. Is this your rod? >> Yes, sir. Like all the stuff that you >> Where's your car at? >> Car? >> My car? The officers asked him, "Why do you need an AR if you're fishing?" He explained that he had been the target of a robbery attempt and wanted to protect himself. Instead of understanding his right to self-defense, they treated him like a paranoid man. The irony was that while he reasonably feared criminals, it was the police who were putting his life in danger. >> Car is somewhere around here. And at this point, I'm about to go back fishing because I am doing something lawful. If you guys are going to treat me like this, I'm just going to go back to fishing. >> So, like, we can I'm trying to I'm trying to figure this out with with reason for you guys, but you guys are treating me like I'm a criminal. Like, I've done something. >> I don't even know who you are yet. >> You don't need You don't need to know who I am. I'm just a law-abiding citizen that's done nothing wrong. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> I understand. I can understand the pistol, but why do you need an AR to fish? I understand. I've almost been robbed and I'm not going to deal with somebody trying to rob me and take my life from me while I'm trying to do something that I love to do. I love to fish and if somebody tries to rob me while I'm trying to fish, I need to protect myself. >> Officials not enough. >> I'm going to protect myself with whatever I need to protect myself with. That's that's the thing about this. >> Before we continued listening to the rest of this pathetic conversation, because that was what the officers were doing now, trying to justify their actions. I wanted to ask you, have you ever run into police officers who thought they were above the law? And how did you react in that situation? Write us down in the comments section and we'll get back to the video. >> Second Amendment is that I can >> All right. So, where's your writing? >> I don't. >> My name is Mike and I am telling you please >> like what? >> If I've committed a crime, I'm going to give you everything I I that you need. Everything. But until I've committed that crime, I'm not I I don't have to give you anything. And you know this 901151. Like I I'm I'm I haven't committed a crime. And if you guys are telling me I committed a crime, then I'm going to like Yep. Okay. Here's my ID. Here's all my >> All right. Well, we're going to get this backpack off of you. So, I'm going to see you in the backseat of my car for a minute until I get this sorted out. So, >> can I call my lawyer, please? >> Yeah. When we're done. Honestly, how >> I you got to you're going to have to uncuff me or unhook it or something. >> I don't know what to tell you. Can >> the right the right handcuff is extremely tight and it's actually >> I I'm not >> The officers put him in the vehicle, ignoring his request for a lawyer. He calmly repeated he had not committed any crime, but instead of letting him go, they decided to keep him under control without any legal basis. Wasn't that the very essence of abuse of power? to take away someone's freedom just in case. By that logic, all of us should be arrested. >> Resisting. I'm not going to run. I'm not going to do nothing to you guys. >> I know you're not. Relax >> cuz I'm all all I'm doing is waiting for my firearms back. I got you. >> Can we get one of your your your captain or your somebody out here, please? I need somebody that understands the law a little bit better than you guys right now. All right. Is there an ID in there? >> No. >> If you I do not consent to any search or seizures of my property, man. >> I'm conducting an investigation. I understand who you are. >> You don't need to know who I am cuz I've >> The man insisted he did not consent to a search of his belongings. The officers, however, acted as if the law allowed them to do anything. Let me remind you, they had no ward for this. No permission from the man. But of course, in their minds, they didn't need either. And sadly, they were about to push the line even further. >> Committed no crime. >> I don't know that. You may feel that way. A lot of people commit. >> This guy just explained to you that I did not commit a crime because I am going to fish. I understand where I'm at. >> You're not in the middle. >> You're not a felon, right? >> No, man. If if I was >> confirm that by running your ID, >> you don't need to confirm anything. That's not how the law works, man. That's not how it works. >> So, an open carry and one of the most populated places. >> I've been to Miami Beach in the most populated beach in freaking AR. >> Absolutely. 100 doing anything, huh? >> Um, they're being sued right now. Okay. >> Um, >> I'll grab it. I'll grab it. Please, can I I I would like to call my lawyer, please. >> He's going to answer on a Saturday afternoon. >> I can go on Monday through Sunday, man. Doesn't matter. >> He asked for a lawyer again, but the officers refused and kept questioning him. He clearly explained the same law that gave them the right to carry their weapons gave him that right, too. Instead of acknowledgement, he received mocking comments. If this sounded like a balance of rights to you, you're mistaken. What we saw here was power using double standards. One for citizens and another for those with a badge. >> I've got I've got my second amendment right. I've got my the Florida statute 790. The only reason you get to open carry your firearm is because of the same statute. I get to open carry my firearm. Can you please get your captain or whoever you got to get out here, please? Florida. >> He asked for a supervisor, but the officer just went in circles, saying the law was ridiculous and that people abused it. Imagine a police force that instead of respecting the law openly called it stupid. That meant they had no problem ignoring it. What did that tell us about the entire department? What do you think? And if you thought that was bad, wait until you hear what followed. [Music] Which one of those cars is yours? >> None of them. >> So, how are you getting where are you headed? >> Back to my car, >> which is parked where? >> Um I I don't have to answer that question, sir. [Music] Saturday afternoon. >> I can go on Monday through Sunday morning. Doesn't matter. I've got I've got my performance statute 790. The only reason you get to be able to carry your firearm is because of the same test I get to carry my officers talked among themselves and smirked calling him a prick without ID. Instead of professionalism, we got insults and cynicism. The whole conversation between them was nothing more than an extension of detaining a man who had done absolutely nothing. And that was how much free time these officers seemed to have. Can you please get your captain or whoever you got to get out? >> Huh? That statue is legit some [ __ ] [ __ ] You can I can articulate that it's ridiculous that cuz it's for like parks and stuff for like people who go like hunting and fishing in like big ass like rural area parks. No, that's the thing and that's why people like that abuse it. >> But you can go to and for is the issue. So he's like, "Oh, that's why I said that. It's ridiculous cuz I'm sure that's why he has a GoPro. Hold on. The man finally managed to call his lawyer despite the situation restrained locked up with guns pointed at him. The officers ignored him, acting as if he were talking to a wall. Well, I would say this was the moment when these entitled cops realized they messed up big time. But of course, their egos were too big to apologize, so they kept digging themselves deeper. Of course, this freak is another Eric. your own desk. What's up? >> Um, I'm in the back of a police car in handcuffs with a gun pointed at me, man. And I was on my I was leaving. I was trying to leave and all this [ __ ] happened. >> Where are you? >> Um, I am at John's Pass in Penllis County. >> What are they What are they being for? >> Um, they're trying to figure out the law. Okay. >> No, I kept I kept I asked three different times to try to make a phone call to you and they said no after we're done. >> Okay. >> Uh I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and I am on my hand on my hands are behind my back with my >> The lawyer tried to make contact but the officers avoided any communication. The citizen begged them to at least loosen the handcuffs because his hands were going numb. They acted as if their job was done the moment they decided to arrest someone. Well, now it was the time for consequences. >> Back with my phone in my hand with a speaker on. >> All right. What are the officer names? >> Um, as soon as they come back, I'll get them. But, uh, right now, like I said, I'm in Penllis County. Um, >> are they sheriffs or boys? >> I believe they uh uh Panella sheriffs. >> They got green and white cars, right? >> Yeah. Green and white. >> Okay. >> Officer, um, >> um, I've got my lawyer on the phone. Would you like to speak? Would you like to speak to my lawyer real quick? Hey, where's your fishing at? >> It's on my phone, but I'm letting you know I wasn't fishing. I was I was leading. >> Correct. So, I wasn't They didn't catch me while I was fishing. >> We should have a fishing license. Michael, >> if this looked like proper conduct to you, maybe you had forgotten the basic purpose of police was protection, not causing pain. Honestly, I still couldn't believe the officers refused to speak with the lawyer over the phone. I mean, did they even know what their duty was and why they did the job they did? Because from their behavior, that seemed pretty unlikely. >> I I have a fishing I have a fishing license. I'll give it to him if need be. But I'm letting you know like fishing license. You got a >> Yeah, I've got my fishing pole. I got my fishing license. I've got all that good stuff. Tell him I've got Sheriff Wolf here's cell phone if you'd like me to call it. >> Yeah, he >> Yeah, he shut the door on me and he walked away. He's on the phone with somebody. All right, hold on. You're sheriff's county sheriff, right? I'm right% 100%. It says sheriff on the side. >> The officers shut the vehicle door while he was speaking with his lawyer. It was yet another attempt to isolate him and reduce his chance to defend himself. If this looked harmless to you, remember that every authoritarian regime began by silencing citizens. And if you wondered what they were doing that kept them from talking to the lawyer, well, they had an interesting excuse. >> Out of the door in Penelis. >> Yeah. Old Sheriff Penelis. Or wait, is he? No. Uh, [ __ ] Wait, hold on. I'll look it up real quick. >> Yeah, that's Bob. Okay. Yeah, we call them free with them. >> Yeah, I don't know what's going on with these guys. They got me in the back of their police car. I'm dealing with what I got to deal with. But uh um I'll I'll try to let you know what's going on before uh whatever happens. If I have to give him my fishing license, I'll give it to him, man. And uh your name, sir? >> Sergeant Pen. >> And uh your badge or payroll number? >> 639. >> Thank you very much. >> You know we have payroll numbers. You guys known us a few times. >> They just told me. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Where is your car parked? >> Uh somewhere close. >> I'm I'm letting you know. All you have to do because because I don't like I I'm don't I really don't trust you guys. I just want my my belongings. >> He clearly asked them to just return his property and let him go. The officers, however, acted as if that were their favor to grant, not his right. And wait, even when they realized they couldn't arrest him, they still weren't ready to let him go. Man, I wonder how much further they could possibly go. >> He's back. We need to set him on the ground over here on the dirt, whatever you got to do. And I will go about my day until I feel comfortable. You're not going to harass me after the fact. >> We're not going to harass you after the fact. >> Um, >> so listen, here's what here's what I would like to do. >> Okay. >> I want to make sure that we do this safely, >> right? >> You have two guns over there. >> Okay. >> I'm going to give them back to you. >> Okay. >> I would prefer to give them back to you unloaded cuz I would really hate for me or one of our guys here to get shot. >> My go My goal is not to harm anybody here. >> Okay. Well, I met you 5 minutes ago. I don't know. >> Just responded to me in case he'd be interested in knowing that. Uh, this is my lawyer, like I said. What did he respond? >> He did. That was the sheriff that respond. >> They're letting you go, Michael. >> Perfect. All right. Instead of uh you guys talking to me about this, let's just go ahead and wherever you feel comfortable by the bathrooms, right over here in the dirt, wherever you feel comfortable about leaving my belongings, I would like my belongings and I'd like to go about my day. >> Please. >> That's fine. Like I said, I just hand it back to you unloaded. >> Whatever you got to do, cuz I'll I'll do whatever I got to do after the fact. I just want my belongings back so I can go about my day. >> All right. So, look, here's what I'll do. I'll put the round of the magazines in your backpack. >> Whatever you got to do, bud. >> Okay. >> The officers finally gave in and agreed to return his weapons, but only on the condition that they be checked in. And he accepted, even though he knew they had treated him unlawfully from the very start. Of course, they had to invent a few more rules at the end just so they wouldn't walk away completely humiliated. Unfortunately for them, it was already too late and soon they would end up exposed on social media. >> Unloaded, sir. Yes. They're not >> loading them or you >> No, they are they are still uh the every round is still in the magazines, but um the firearms themselves the they're unloaded. >> Here's the one the round. >> All right. So, that's yours >> and I will wait for you all to leave and do whatever so you all feel safe. I'm not. My goal is not to hurt anybody. That's never been my goal. >> Look, I don't know that when I first roll up into >> I got it, man. >> Until the very end. The man stayed calm, saying he never wanted to hurt anyone. The irony was the only ones who had endangered someone's life here were the police officers themselves. And if you thought these cops were bad, well, wait until you see our next case, where a whole group of officers tried to put a man at risk only to end up being schooled in the end. You don't need to be any kind of legal expert to know that in public government buildings, you could film and take pictures just like if you were in a park. Still, some officers, like this female cop, didn't know that, which was why this would end up being just another case of entitled cops realizing they had messed up big time. And yes, this one went downhill fast. >> All right. So, what are we doing here? I'm asking. >> I don't really wish to speak to nobody. >> All right. But I didn't know what you're doing here. >> Why? >> Cuz this is security. >> What? >> We have security here. If you're not here to talk to any lease and talk to the management, you have no business here. >> That sounds like an opinion. >> No, it's a fact. This is private property, bro. >> Um, the public comes here, right? They come through the furnace if they have an appointment to meet. >> There's a sign right there that says visitors >> past this point is authorized personnel only. This is a public area. >> I'm aware that what do you mean recording stuff here? We're just basically monitoring. >> If you say so here, >> can I help you with something? >> I'm here to know what you're doing. I got dispatch. They're saying to give a description of a male with your description. >> Instead of acting according to the law, she imposed her own opinions as if they were facts. If this sounded like proper procedure to you, you're mistaken. Police were not supposed to invent rules. Public space remained public. And the phrase, "This is private because I say so," was not a legal argument, but an abuse of authority. All she really hoped was for that day to prove to herself how important she was. >> That she's recording in here. Okay. Feel uncomfortable. >> Okay. Do you witness a crime or something? Am I detained? >> I'm just asking what you're doing here. >> Am I being detained or something? >> Am I detained you? No. >> So, have a good day. Okay. >> So, what are you doing here? >> Have a good day. You >> just tell me what you're doing today. >> No, you can have a good day. >> I told you I don't I don't wish to speak to nobody. >> So, then what are you here for? You want to talk to nobody? >> Well, you I mean I don't really wish to speak to you. >> Do you live in Park? >> Do you? >> I work here. Oh, you don't live here though. >> What's your business here? Boss, you over here playing games. I'm just trying to You came up to me, ma'am. I didn't I didn't come up to you. >> Your business is here. So, maybe security upstairs. They called me to find out why you're here. That's my job. So, why are you here? >> I don't answer questions. >> So, you're just here just to record random people and do nothing. That That's what you want to do with your life? >> I'm minding my business. I didn't speak to nobody. The man calmly replied, "He was only recording and didn't want a conversation, but the female officer kept obsessively questioning him." When someone clearly asked, "Am I being detained?" The officer was supposed to answer and stopped the harassment. Instead, she repeated the same question over and over. Okay. The tactic of wearing someone down until the weaker side gave in and had begun. >> Nobody. So, what I'm doing is my choice. No, I'm okay. You can have a good day. You got the work is feeling uncomfortable, boss. >> It's not my problem. It's theirs. >> What's [ __ ] business? >> You're making You're making me uncom You're making me uncomfortable. Especially back >> with that gun on your hip. It makes me uncomfortable on anything. I have training to have it. >> I have training to have this camera. I have training to have this camera. It still makes me uncomfortable. But there's no there's nothing you can There's nothing you can do about that, right? >> I just don't know what you're doing here. They're trying to You can see what I'm doing here. Yeah. >> You said what I was You said I was doing here. >> All right. So what is your purpose of recording me? >> Do I need a purpose? >> Yes. I mean why would you just be in a regular area reporting? >> I don't wish I don't wish to explain my purpose. I just wish to exercise my rights peacefully that you swore to protect. I >> remember me swearing off. >> What are you doing here? >> You know what I'm doing? You said what I was doing. >> Why are you reporting? What is your purpose? What help can we assist? >> Do I need a reason why? >> Yeah, I wouldn't want someone just randomly reporting me while I'm working and stuff. I feel uncomfortable. >> Okay. They're here to work. If you need help, we can assist you with that. But you're literally just here recording a vending machine, recording. >> Is something wrong with that? >> Is there something wrong with that? >> Well, if you need help, you could literally go upstairs if you need a release something. That's what this apartment area is for. It's not just for people to want. >> It's a public area regardless. It's a public area. The public is allowed to come here. The female officer claimed that the workers felt uncomfortable because someone was recording them while she herself had a gun on her hip. Many of you might say that officers had the right to carry a gun because of their job, and you'd be right. But don't forget, citizens also had their own constitutional rights that officers were required to protect. And I think you'd agree with that. >> If you don't witness a crime, I'm not being detained and I don't wish to speak to you. Okay. What's your name and badge number? >> Are the vending machines uncomfortable, too? All right. Why do you tell me that you have to follow me while I'm talking? >> Yeah. Make sure you don't lie over the phone. I can't hear you. >> Where you at? >> Why you recording people's property? You >> have a right to do that too, bro. Like >> Yeah, cuz I'm in public. The female officer insisted that the recording had to have a purpose, as if the Constitution granted free speech only when she approved the topic. The citizen correctly said that the purpose wasn't required. He was simply exercising his right calmly. When a public servant openly said she was uncomfortable being recorded, it's definitely a sign she needs to change careers because if she didn't know, well, she's a public servant. But for what? What? What are you doing? >> Why you Why you want to know all my reasons for it? >> Weird. >> You got the flower of life on you. >> Sorry. >> You got the flower of life on you. >> I don't know what you talking about. >> You don't It's right there on your arm. You don't see it? You got the flower of life. Look, I got the seed of life. I thought you was spiritual. That's a spiritual tattoo. >> Not spiritual at all. >> Have a good day. I haven't seen you in a minute. How you been? >> Hey, what's up? How you doing? Good to see you. >> All is well. Just taking pictures. >> Okay, thank you. Can you write the phone number down for me? >> Sure. >> The female officer followed the citizen trying to discourage him. Instead of protection, she acted like a shadow hunting him. And if recording was really meaningless, why was it getting so much attention? And the answer was clear. The citizen oversight revealed police power in its most uncomfortable form. The more she chased him, the more obvious that became. >> This is private property. It's a private office. It's not a public place. You can't go in there. >> I didn't go in anywhere. >> That's the code you get that you was he insider >> in here in this wide open space that says visit. >> This is not a public. >> It says visitors allowed. This is where visitors come >> to go to the office. >> But visitors still come here though, right? That's public access. >> You cannot be there. >> It's public access. >> Okay. >> It's public access. It says visitors right there. I can't go past that gate and I can't go past there. This area right here is public access. It says visitors right here. You don't see no no trespassing authorized personnel only signs. This is wide open to the public. >> What? >> I'm recording peace officers in the course of their duty through the right to record act. That's a law. It didn't take long before the man decided to go to the other side of the federal building into the lobby right by the sign that said visitors. So, it was clear he was allowed to record there. Still, he ran into more officers who weren't much different from the one earlier. To say the least, this was the point where the story really started getting interesting. >> Does the public come here to conduct business, ask questions? Does the public come here to ask questions? >> So ask questions front, man. Like if you want to ask question, you go to the front. >> So why does that sign say visitors? >> Mr. Charles, >> the sign clearly says that the public comes here. >> This is not public. This is not public whatsoever. >> It's public access. >> You want to come through the front, you come to the front. If you have a disability, you come through here and use the elevator. >> So the public does come in through here >> if you have a disability. >> Okay. >> So the public comes in through here >> if you have a disability. Yeah. cuz they can't go. So the public comes in. >> So what I'm saying is I don't know if you're doing this for content or whatever, but >> I'm minding my business. I didn't speak to nobody. Did I speak to you? >> It's a private. This is private. >> This is public access. >> Working. What are you doing? So what are you doing? >> Okay. I'm working too. >> Well, it says visitors. I'm coming. I'm taking pictures. That's it. Nobody asked me to leave. Nobody's I didn't talk to nobody. I'm taking pictures. >> The debate about public access turned into a game of words. The officers admitted that people with disabilities entered through here, but at the same time claimed it wasn't public. If one part of the public was allowed, then it's public. Their refusal to accept that showed that citizens were being punished for not breaking the rules, but rather for following them a little too closely. But these officers still had more tricks up their sleeves. >> In a public accessible area. >> Okay, so the public's not allowed to be back there. I didn't see no signs that said restricted access. It's wide open. >> Huh? >> You guys are peace officers, right? >> Okay. Are you saying that Park Chester is Parka is not public? >> This isn't What's your name? Look at himself. >> Don't I didn't say that. Don't put words in my >> I'm asking you a question. >> Treat you with a lot of respect. >> I give you respect as well. >> We're very social. >> I'm I'm respect. Look at that. How easy was that? How easy? Now if you see me in there with the gate closed, then I'm trespassing. >> What's your name in bad, sir? You didn't even identify yourself. >> What's your name? >> I would. Everybody knows me. I'm good guy activism. I'm good guy activism. What's your name? >> Okay. You're not proud of your name? >> The citizen asked the officers to identify themselves, but they refused to show their names. if they didn't believe in their own work and that it was honorable, how could they expect citizens to trust them? On top of that, hadn't they heard that as public servants, even their own policy required to give their names whenever a citizen asked? And yet, they acted as if the rules didn't apply to them. >> You're not proud of your name and what you do? >> Can you move your walkie so I can see it? I just want to see his name in bad. Yeah, I'm not going to stop you. >> No, no. I just don't want you to get close while I'm >> I'm trying to get his name. >> Have a good day. Drive safe. Okay. If you would have asked me, sir, we're going to close this gate. Do you mind stepping out so we can close the gate? I would have stepped out. But there's no signs saying that the public can't go there. Hopefully you learned something today. Appreciate your professionalism though. H for the most part. She was kind of rude. >> Renting the office. >> See you later. >> The same thing again. Now >> what's that? >> Just come in here recording. >> Of course. >> It's not about to be a thing, bro. >> Of course. That's what I do for a living. >> Yeah. I watch uh peace officers in the course of their duties. >> That's for you. >> You know that's a law that says that. It's called the right to record act. >> Well, if you need help, you can come here for assistance. You're just here recording for >> I'm recording this. >> He explained that they would have stepped aside if they had simply asked to close the gate, but there was no sign forbidding it. That was the key point. The citizen showed he was willing to cooperate if treated with basic respect. The police, however, chose an authoritarian tone. How foolish. They literally had a chance to correct their mistake and yet they chose something else. >> Peace officers. But >> for what? >> Because it's my right to. >> Thank you. You don't want to be watched by the people. I like your flower of life tattoo. She don't even know what it is. This is the seed of life right here. See you later, alligator. Have a good day. Yo, I love you all. Let me know what you think about that. We got Prochester Police. This is Officer Burgos. I'm going to see if I can find the the first time I met her and see if we can post that. But until next time, love you all. Peace. >> In the end, the citizen left, thanking the more professional individuals, saying, "See you again." The message was clear. Police oversight wasn't an incident, but an ongoing need. If this looked like provocation to you, remember the constant reminders of rights were exactly what protected society from abuse. Once again, these weren't the only officers who would disappoint you today. Now, we move on to an officer who thought he could detain someone just because he was bored. This stop didn't begin because of any serious crime, but rather over trivial claims. These officers said the license plates were badly mounted. The windows were too tinted and there was no sticker. But when the driver showed that all these complaints were baseless and started recording, the situation turned into nothing more than raw power struggle. In other words, get ready for another case of when entitled cops realized they messed up big time. >> Officers are illegally giving me your registration. >> They are legally pulled me over. I thought I said >> not in there. That's your admissions. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> That's my paperwork. Those are my paperwork. Those are my paperwork. Go back in here. Registration. >> The tickets for my tents are in my house. Like I told you, I could grab those. >> Well, I'll bring it to court. I'll bring it I'll bring it to court when you give me the ticket then and I'll show and I'll show the judge. I'll show the judge. No problem. I'll do that. >> So, you got one, two. Oh, yeah. You got got your front done, too. >> Yep. And it's legal. >> Yep. >> It's legal to do them. It's not illegal. >> It's not mounted. >> It's not illegal. >> Yeah. License plate's not mounted, too. >> My license plate is mounted. >> No, it's not. dashboard. What's that? Is that a dealer plate or what >> is that? Is that a vanity plate? >> Puerto Rico ass. >> Okay. >> And look at the front plate. My my my my my plate. My plate is freaking mounted. Go. Look at the >> The driver calmly handed over his documents, explained that the stickers were at home, and the officer insisted on a ticket. Instead of understanding, he got pressure. It was clear here that the goal was to find a reason to keep the harassment going, not to solve a problem. And speaking of problems, it was obvious there wasn't one. The officer had simply decided it was time to boost his ego a little. >> You just got people around. >> Well, thank you for harassing me, by the way. I really appreciate you. This is harassment. And this is an illegal This is an illegal traffic stop, too. You know that. >> I'm I'm a very mutual guy. You treat me like a gentleman. I treat you like a gentleman. >> But why you record, bro? Because they're violating my rights. Keep recording, bro. They're violating my rights right now. There's an illegal committee. >> You're recording. You're recording. I know the law. My mother. >> Okay. >> I was in a public place. My car wasn't in motion. I wasn't anything like that. You guys came in here immediately open my door without a warrant. Okay. >> Okay. >> But I'm going to let the court know that as well. And I'm calling my attorney as well. Okay. >> Right. >> So, we don't have the registration paperwork. >> Oh, right here. I'm sorry. Right in my >> Do we have the We have the stickers or No, >> I don't have the stickers on me. I told you they're in my house. >> They're in my house. Go ahead. Give me the ticket. I'll bring I'll bring I'll bring the stickers to the stick. >> Yeah, maybe by then. >> Do what you got to do and I'm going to do what I got to do. >> All right. Sounds good. >> Do what you got to do. I'm going do what I got to do. And thank you for illegally opening my door without a warrant, too. >> That's not how it works. >> Yep. No. >> The officer claimed the plates weren't mounted, even though they were clearly in place. The driver let him see the front side. The driver ignored the obvious. When the facts didn't fit their story, they simply invented a new version. And don't worry, they're just getting warmed up with plenty of plot twists and desperate attempts still ahead. >> You got to have a warrant before you open somebody's door. You should know that by now. That's illegal as if you did opening my door without a warrant. Illegal as and you know that. Okay. Not trying to justify the law. They open my door without a warrant. They're not supposed to do that. command to step out of the car. >> Put your hands behind back. >> For what? >> You're being detained. >> For what? >> Cuz I said so. How about that? >> You can't detain me when I 382. You're violating 382 right now. >> You're violating 382 says you cannot detain somebody unless I committed a crime. I reasonable suspicion that I have committed a crime. >> Yep. >> What crime did I commit? I commit no crime. I've been here the whole time in my car. >> Traffic stop. >> Traffic stop. All >> right. So, I'm detained, not arrested. Okay. No, that's fine. There you go. I'm suing by. >> The officer ordered him out and immediately put him in handcuffs even though the driver reminded him of the law about reasonable suspicion. Instead of legal explanation, he got brute force. And let me guess, maybe because they had nothing real to say. And once again, this situation was far from over. >> By the way, >> yeah, you can sue all you want. S's got lots of money. You know Sean, remember? >> Yeah. No, I do. >> Okay. Over here. >> Okay. >> Over here. Have a seat on my push bump to make sure you're not doing anything wrong. >> I don't do anything wrong either. >> I see. >> They're not allowed to search you either. You ain't doing anything wrong, bro. >> Nope. >> Yes, they are. 30 uh 35% of state limit. >> No. >> Yes, it is. >> When you have stickers. >> 35% state limit. >> When you have stickers, you don't you don't you don't got >> I got the sticker in my house. I I have the sticker in my house. >> I'm going to bring it to I'm going to bring the sticker to the court. You have stickers at your house. >> I forgot to put it on. I forgot to put it on. >> You know the law so well. Then why didn't you put >> Because I forgot I'm sick. I have a heart condition. I'd be in the hospital. I just got out of the hospital because I have a heart condition. I didn't have time to put the sticker on. >> So if you have a heart condition, why are you getting so worked up over nothing right now? >> Because you guys are illegally detaining me right now for something I did. >> I didn't commit no crime. I came here to do some paperwork. I came here to express my feelings. The First Amendment gives me the right to. The driver explained that he was sick and hadn't had the chance to put the stickers on, but the police used that against him. Instead of showing understanding, they attacked him. Imagine walking out of the hospital only to have the first thing waiting for you to be an officer declaring you suspicious. Yes, the police were supposed to follow the law, but that didn't mean they shouldn't take circumstances into account, especially when it wasn't a serious matter. >> Express my feelings, okay? You guys came over here, illegally detained me for no reason, okay? For no reason whatsoever. Came over here, harassed me, came to my car for no reason whatsoever, opened my door without having a warrant, >> just cuz I said that I know the people from from the state of Connecticut. And now you guys are harassing me for no reason. This is harassment. This is har I know, but you're harassing me right now. Understand how I feel right now. This is police harassment right now. I didn't do anything wrong, okay? I didn't commit no crime. I was in my car. I came here to get some paperwork. Okay? Okay. And just cuz I said cuz I know people from the state of Connecticut. You guys came over here and started harassing me. Especially this guy right here. >> All right. Not a problem. >> This is harass. This is harassment. You know that, right? >> I was just illegally I was just illegally detained. RA. You know what RA means? Articular sufficient. >> It's articulable. >> Articulable. Exactly. So what is a reasonable articular suspicion? What is it? >> Motor vehicle violation and unstable. When I wasn't moving, my my vehicle wasn't moving. >> Stay proper. >> It doesn't matter. The car has to be moving, bro. I I let it all the time. Yes, it does. I'm going to beat this in court. Don't worry about it. My car wasn't moving. I promise you in court stay there. >> And I was illegally detained, too. Oh, hell yeah. Make sure you put this in. I'm showing that my lawyer is going to have fun with this, bro. >> I got the best lawyer in Connecticut, too. >> Yeah. >> Best lawyer in Connecticut. Yeah. You remember that? >> This citizen invoked the First Amendment, explaining that he had the right to express his feelings. Now, even free speech bothered them. Weren't these the same officers who, like every other, had sworn at the start of their careers to protect the constitutional rights of citizens while now acting as if those rules didn't exist? >> Nope. He's not that good. >> He is very good. Very good. >> I never heard him. >> Very good. Well, you're going to hear about him now. >> All right, that's fine. >> So, guess what happens to you guys? >> Easier to pay you out and get you out of there. >> But guess what's going to happen to you guys, though? Because they're paying us out. Guess what happened to you guys? You guys lose your your qualif your qualified immunity. >> Okay. That's what you >> That's what I know, man. >> That's what you uh been reading on your YouTube videos. That's crime. >> No, not the YouTube videos. It's called >> Google. >> No, not Google, too. >> It's called the uh the library. >> The library and what law? >> No crime. I ain't got no weapons on me. Oh, and I don't consent to any searches or seizures as well, by the way. But that I can't I don't consent to any searches or seizures. I'm being illegally detained right now. By the way, uh, Attorney Jerice, I didn't commit no crime. There's no rash. I Well, my car wasn't moving. Attorney Jerice, I hope I hope you're seeing this right now. Keep recording cuz make sure you get um the the uh yo, go around the car, get the um the driver explained the meaning of reasonable articulated suspicion, and the officers mocked him. The irony was that the citizen knew the law better than those who were supposed to enforce it. If you thought this was a joke, remember ignorance in society may be uncomfortable, but ignorance in uniform was deadly. It might not have looked too serious here, but just think what these officers were capable of if they acted this way toward a man who had done nothing wrong. >> Their plate number, too, please. You're allowed to do that. I can't stop you from getting their plate number. >> The registration of the Yeah, get the car number. >> The car number. Thank you. >> Even though that that means absolutely nothing. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay, get the car number. Go around back to get the car number. The trooper number. >> How about you just stay over here? Hey, >> how about you just stay over here? >> Get the trooper number for the car. >> I already gave you my serial number three times, bro. You can have a seat in the car or you can be in handcuffs, too. All right. You've been drinking. I don't feel comfortable with you walking around. >> All right. All right. All right. Officer running all you want. >> Have a seat in the car. >> Not a problem. Not a problem. >> You know what? Matter of fact, I got an extra set of handcuffs. Handcuff No, no, no, no, no. You going to keep closing me, Audrey? >> I'm going to keep closing you, Audrey. Step out now. You can get a handcuff, too. >> You can get a handcuff, too. Come on. >> Come on. >> Yep. I'm dead everybody. Cuz you cuz I I feel more comfortable. >> Legally detaining people over here. >> Yep. >> Illegally detaining people. Nobody committed no crime. >> Oh, you committed a crime. You're getting You're under arrest. Congratulations. >> I'm being detained. >> No. Hey, you hear me? You're under arrest. I didn't do anything. Guess what? >> The officers extended the pressure to the passenger, threatening him with handcuffs, too, if he kept recording. That way, even the bystander became a problem. In fact, anyone who looked at them the wrong way was automatically against him. They acted more like feeling enforcers rather than law enforcers. Pathetic and shameful and still nowhere near the end. >> Yeah, you did. >> Yeah, you did. You're still doing it. >> No, I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not doing nothing. >> Yeah, I know. But you can't drive. You got license under suspension, right? >> Yep. >> All right. So, he can't he can't drive because he's going to he's going to troop H now. >> You You are. Congratulations. >> I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't come in no crime, bro. >> Yep. >> No crime. Illegally arrested right now for no reason, bro. I didn't do anything wrong, man. >> Why you arrested me for? I didn't do anything wrong. Come on. >> I didn't paperwork. >> I got the paperwork. >> Congratulations. >> You were How old are you? >> No, no, no. You keep running your mouth. >> When I was a little kid, you know what? My mother. The driver insisted he hadn't committed any crime, but the officers improvised reasons, trespassing, a suspended license, whatever came to mind. It was like they were listing anything at random, hoping something would stick. As if this were a game and not a serious human duty, or at least that's what it was supposed to be. >> Don't kick the beehive. If you kick the beehive, you're going to get stumped. So, congratulations. You got stuck. And you're a convicted felon. >> I'm a convicted know. You're violating my right now. I didn't commit no crime. You're violating my rights. I didn't commit no crime. I didn't commit no crime. You're violating my rights right now. I didn't commit no crime. Why are you guys arresting me when I commit no crime? I commit no crime, bro. >> Can I get a Can I get a phone call before I leave? Can I at least find out? >> Can I get a number out of my phone? Now, this is what they do, ladies. And >> in the end, they took him away and arrested him, even though no actual offense had been proven. These were road pirates paid with our money to ruin lives. And if you thought this was an isolated case, remember the scenes like this repeat all across the country. Without cameras, we wouldn't even know. So, if nothing else, always record these tyrants. Let's expose them together. You think this was bad? Well, you haven't seen anything yet. Just when it feels like the bottom's been reached, another video comes along and proves there's always a new low. So, if you want to see how far some officers will go and no one's watching, don't miss what's coming in our next
