Yo, you keep being disorderly and you will be locked up. >> How am I being disorderly? You can't censor my speech. You can't censor my speech. You can't censor my speech. >> Stay off the street and stay on the side. You understand that? >> You cannot censor my speech. >> You understand that? >> You cannot censor my speech. Make sure you pass the address, the name, the last name, the state committed name to all your co-workers to every district or precinct. Okay? Make sure you pass it along. I'm a law-abiding citizen. You can't do nothing to me. >> Watch how this civilian refuses to let a parking attendant and police turn his simple act of recording in public into a confrontation. Instead of backing down, he keeps demanding one thing. They struggle to provide actual authority over what he's doing. And when the intimidation tactics start piling up, he doesn't comply just because someone starts giving him orders. He stands his ground, keeps recording, and sends one of them into what has to be one of the most satisfying walk of shame moments we've seen. Can I ask him? Are you taking a picture? >> Who are you? Who are you? >> It doesn't matter who I am. >> Yeah, it does matter cuz you asking me questions. I don't know who you are. >> Okay. >> Who are you? >> Just stay away from the law. >> Who? Why you pointing that at me? >> He's recording me. Follow me only like >> do that. Then do that. Let me have time to do >> uh black sweatpants. Uh >> blue sneakers, Nike sneakers, brown jacket. >> The guy blue mask my business where he has a mask on his face. He's sweating. Maybe that's why he wanted to go to jail. >> Brown jacket, black sweatpants, blue Nikes. >> Come on. Stop fumbling over your words. Give it to them straight so they know who to look for. >> Yeah. I want you to leave. >> I don't have to leave. I'm on public property. >> I'm on public property. >> But once you cross here this trespass and I don't need that directive because I never crossed that line. >> Well, I'm I'm just saying I wasn't down here. >> But I'm just letting you know and he knows that as well. >> Cross this line. When I'm out here, they won't get >> Excuse me, sir. He knows that I didn't cross the line. >> I'm not saying you did. I'm not saying you did. >> Okay. Listen to him and walk away. Walk away. Listen to him. Get in the car and stay in there. Stay there. I'm talking about you forgetting that you shouldn't give private citizens any rules and especially if you're not of authority. Especially if you're not of authority. >> Get over there. >> Get over there. Get over there. Listen to that man. Get over there. Get over there, man. Get over there. >> Come on. >> Get Come on. Go. Listen to that man. Listen to him, you snowflake. Listen to him. >> Go move your car. This the second call, ladies and gentlemen, that he's calling to the police. >> 855. Show me at, ladies and gentlemen. >> This guy thinks I'm a nut right here. He clear He clearly doesn't know his rights. He clearly doesn't know his rights. This is how brainwashed our people are. He clearly doesn't know his rights. He's a parking lot attendant, ladies and gentlemen. >> I got a job. >> Parking lot attendant. >> Parking lot attendant. >> I got a job. >> You don't know me, sir. >> You don't know me either, bro. >> I know that you're a parking attendant. >> That's right. Nothing. >> Shut me up. >> What you going to do when it go down? Nothing. >> Try me. Try me. >> Nothing. >> Can't even hardly walk. All right. A lot of lots. >> Well, y'all need to first do it by calling the police like y'all just did >> because we're not idiots with, you know, just just revert to slack on black violence and that dumb. That's what the white man wants. That's what he want. >> What he don't want you to know is your rights. And clearly And clearly you don't know your rights. >> Yeah, I do, bro. >> No, you don't. >> Yeah, I do. >> No, you don't. >> No, you don't. Because if you knew your rights, then you wouldn't be approaching me about what I'm doing. If you knew your rights, you would not be approaching me about what I'm doing. Now he's talking about the car, ladies and gentlemen. He was just engaging with me into a conversation about he knows this and he knows that. He doesn't know Yeah. Yeah. >> This your parking lot, sir. >> Damn it. >> That's your property. That's your property right there. That's not your property. THAT'S NOT THEIR PROPERTY RIGHT THERE. YOU AIN'T GOT TO MOVE. I don't believe this is their property, but the resistance can be wrong at times. So, we going >> Yo, you keep being disorderly and you will be locked up. >> How am I being disorderly? You can't censor my speech. You can't censor my speech. You can't censor my speech. >> Stay off the street and stay on the side. Do you understand that? You cannot censor my speech. Understand that >> you cannot censor my speech. Name and badge. You just engage me. Name and badge. >> You can see it. >> 4595. >> What's your name? Name and badge, officer. Name and badge. >> Name and badge. >> It's offic I'm going to tell you it's officer. >> Can you back up? Can you back up? You're in my personal space. >> No, I'm I'm not bothering you. You asked me a question and I'm answering. Okay, but you don't have to walk up on me like that. >> 2364. That is my back. >> Then back up. Thank you. >> Y'all have a nice day. You're dismissed. >> All right. See you later. >> Another intimidation tactic. I love it. Make sure you pass the name around to every district and every police officer. >> Go back to Darren Road. Tyrant disorderly. Ladies and gentlemen, he's going to lock me up with disorderly. You get educated today, sir? I hope you did. That's the walk of shame you're doing right now. Do you practice intimidation tactics every day? I'm going tell you just like I told every officer, especially at the Boston Police Headquarters, it doesn't matter if you know my name. Officer, >> I got I got a question. >> I don't answer questions. I'm telling you I'm telling you something. I'm telling you something. Listen. Listen. Listen. I'm done with you. I'm done with you. >> Keep Keep practicing those intimidation tactics. >> Keep practicing those intimidation tactics. >> Oh, y'all know what y'all doing. Come on, man. You know what you're doing. You know what you're doing. That's why he got his lips all twisted up on the side of his face, cuz he know what he's doing. asking you a question. >> Make sure you pass the address, the name, the last name, the state committed name to all your co-workers, to every district or precinct. Okay? Make sure you pass it along. I'm a law-abiding citizen. You can't do nothing to me. Nothing. Goodbye. You're dismissed. You're dismissed. Goodbye. >> And that's exactly why this turned into such a satisfying walk of shame. This man wasn't going to surrender his rights simply because somebody decided they didn't like what he was doing. He repeatedly asked who had the authority to order him around, refused to comply with unsupported demands and continued standing his ground while documenting the encounter. The First Amendment generally protects the right to record police performing their duties in public when the person is lawfully present and isn't interfering with their work. That doesn't give anyone unlimited permission to trespass or interfere with police activity. But it does mean officers need an actual legal basis for restricting protected recording rather than relying on intimidation or the mere fact that someone is filming. Here, the officers needed to establish what law was actually being violated, what authority they were exercising, and why their orders were legally justified. Instead, this encounter ends with the civilian still standing his ground, still recording, and the confrontation moving away from him. That's what makes this such a memorable walk of shame.
