In this video, officer pulled a driver over for a simple turn violation, but turned it into a personal power trip. He pulled the man out of the car and began asking random questions that had nothing to do with the stop. Every time the driver stayed calm and quiet, the officer grew more irritated and kept switching his story to justify his behavior. Instead of handling the stop professionally, he tried to create a reason to dig deeper. Watch how this cop humiliated himself after trying to turn a routine stop into an interrogation. You mind you stepping out? Just come talk to me back here. >> No, you can record. >> Mhm. >> Um, but like I've already explained to you, Pennsylvania versus men's ask or states that anybody can be asked to step out of the vehicle on a traffic stop. Okay? And right now, I'm asking you to step out of the vehicle, step back here, and speak with me for a few moments outside of your vehicle. Will you step out of the vehicle? >> You're asking. >> Say that again. >> You're asking. >> Okay. Um, yeah, I'm asking you. Um, >> but if not, I'm going to have to tell you to step out of the vehicle. Okay. So, Stephen, I'm telling you to step out of the vehicle right now. That is a lawful order to step out of the vehicle. Just walk back here for me and just keep your hands out of your pockets. I appreciate you stepping out though. Okay. You mind just walking back here for me? >> Hey, Stephen. I'm Officer Roberts. >> Um, so I I I apologize if we got off on the wrong foot. I'm I'm not too sure why you're not wanting to speak with me. You mind you mind telling me where you're coming from? [Music] Stephen, do you mind if I search you? See if you have any weapons on you or anything like that? Stephen, I'm asking you a question. Do you mind if I search you? See if you have any weapons on you. It's yes or no. You can say yes, you can say no. It's up to you, though. [Music] Okay. Do you mind if I search the vehicle? >> I'm not going to discuss anything. >> You're not going to discuss anything? >> I don't like this. >> You don't like this? >> Okay. Do you mind if I search the vehicle? >> Shooting in the fifth. >> Say that again. >> I'm not saying anything. Okay. Okay. All right. Just hang tight now. I'm going to do a walk around. Okay. [Music] Do you work at the catfish? Heat. Heat. [Music] Stephen, I'm going to shut your door. Okay. Are you okay with that? [Music] Yeah. >> Hey, man. >> I'm going to give you my contact information. You're free to go at this point. Okay. >> Just don't do an improper turn. Let's go. The officer tried to stretch a minor turn violation into something much bigger, but every question he asked only made his own actions look worse. He had no solid reason to pull the man from the car and no justification for the way he handled the stop. By staying calm and refusing to feed into the officer's frustration, the driver exposed how easily some cops lose control when they realize they cannot force compliance.
