On February 18th, 2025, an officer was driving north on Georgia Avenue when a vehicle in the oncoming lane swerved into his. [Music] What's your problem, homie? My lane. Look at that. A second officer who was a/4 mile north investigating an unrelated shooting that occurred 3 hours prior responded to the commotion along with many other officers who were also investigating in the area. Let me get a 40. Let me get a 40. Yes. [Music] A second angle captured by a bystander reveals that the officer fired as the suspect was carjacking a woman parked at the nearby laundromat. Officers began life-saving measures while district fire and EMS were called to the scene. Officers also recovered the knife the suspect used to slash at the officer. Despite the responders efforts, the suspect was pronounced dead. He was later identified as 29-year-old Surafhil Zerhun from Northwest Washington. Other than a few speeding tickets, Zerhun has no known case history, and the motivation behind his attack on the officer remains a mystery. The officers were placed on leave with pay pending the results of an internal investigation in accordance with departmental policy. Whoa, now that was crazy. Okay, you know, I always discuss stuff at the end of the videos. Um, I already know for him to go off like that, it has some it probably was drugs. It has to be some kind of drugs that he was on. And I'm going to tell you something crazy. I watched this true crime stuff so much in these body cams until they said they don't understand what made him do this. And he he wanted to he wanted to die. He was like, "Man, go ahead and finish me off." It was a reason is either drugs or he did something that we may not find out till later in life. I I watch a call me conspiracies, but I watch these true crime videos and some people just want to go and you don't know the reason why they want to go. They probably didn't done something in their life and you never might you might not even find it for 30 years. They say this guy uh uh saed a a younger one when he was younger and they come to find out it was him or this guy uh un alive somebody uh and never could find the body and they found out that he was the one who did it. It's weird. I'm not saying that's what he doing, but when you see cases like this and somebody just want to go, they feel like that they either depressed, they're on drugs, or they did something that they're ashamed of, and they just want to go. They shouldn't have named this uh a person tried to hijack a car. What they named it? Uh suspect tries to carjack a a car. They need to they need to change this to suspect uh wanted to unlive himself or suspect was high or suspect was something doing something because I ain't really he he tried to take the car but when I when I think about carjacking I think about somebody being there with him but I guess you could call that carjack.
