On Saturday, the 15th of February, 2025, at approximately 7:04 p.m., officers responded to Cajun Boil and Bar at 1109 South Boulevard in Oak Park, Illinois, for a theft of services call. The general manager told officers a customer had ordered $77.52 worth of food, a $20 challah, six wings, 12 wings, [music] and a gumbo to go. He said she had ordered 12 wings, eaten six of them, and told him the wings made her feel bad. She had already finished the rest of her food before she started complaining. When he handed her the receipt, she said she wasn't paying. She tried to leave the restaurant, then sat back down inside to wait for her Uber. The first is a complaint. Your [music] food is bad, or it makes you sick, and you say so. >> You don't want to take what I'm trying to pay. I don't want the 12 wings they they brought out. I only ate one because they made my stomach hurt. >> That happens in every restaurant in America. The manager can refund your money if you've already paid. He can comp the whole meal. He can pull the item off the check, and there is no law that tells a restaurant what to do about it. It's entirely up to the house. The second thing is a dine and dash. You eat the meal, and then you find a reason [music] not to pay for it. >> So, your total bill dropped to $77. >> No, I'm not paying it. So, no. >> That one is written down. In Illinois, it's theft of labor or services. It covers services that are only sold for [music] money, taken by deception, or taken knowing the other side never agreed to hand them over for free. So, which one was this case? >> [music] >> The report answers that. She ordered 12 wings. She ate six of them. She finished everything else she'd ordered, [music] the boil, the gumbo. The complaint didn't come while she was eating. It came after [music] the food was gone. And when the manager handed her the receipt, officers say he had already offered to take the wings off it. She said she wasn't paying for any of it, >> [music] >> which puts this squarely in the second category. >> Yeah, makes sense. >> How you doing? >> So, at the end, India Harris, 24, was taken into custody and transported to the Oak Park Police Department, charged with theft of labor or services or use of property. The general manager signed complaints for theft of services on scene and provided the receipt, which was inventoried as >> This is one of the most stupidest body cams that I ever did right here, that I ever discussed. Just stupid as hell. She brought her dumb ass ass at this restaurant, knowing she ain't got the money to pay for knowing you had a expensive ass you get a crab boil. Now, listen to this now. Even though even though they already explained everything, I just got I got to talk this thing out. You go bring yourself and eat the crab boil, you. Eat everything else and only eat six wings and say, "I don't like this shit." So, I'm about to see if I can get my refund back. Somebody didn't tell her what to do or one of them TikTok people saying, "This is how you dine and dash. This is what you say." Blah blah blah blah blah. She listened to somebody on social media or she ain't never had the money in the get-go. Just wanted to go somewhere. I want me a shrimp boil. I'm hungry. And you know what I'm saying? And then wanted to finish the wings. And somebody told her some kind of slick [ __ ] that she wanted to do. But she could bring her dumb ass ass here and knowing she ain't got the money, that's why she rather be arrested >> [music] >> than to pay the money. Just say, "I ain't got the money. You all right. She could be I I give people the benefit of the doubt. So, it could have made her stomach hurt, but you all [music] right. You just ain't had the money for it. People are stupid, man. What the hell is wrong in this world these days, man? These young folks, I swear. My parents My mom used to talk about us, but these young little ninjas these days, I don't know what in the world is wrong with them. They just feel so entitled. I don't I don't have to do that one to do. I don't have to pay for this. This is nasty. And look, the cop said, "You going to jail today." That's what she wanted to go anyway. Uh and go sell some new new lashes and wigs y'all got and and come and get this um and pay this $77 bill. I just I'm just these people just they fit. Damn, y'all embarrassing. That's crazy. I remember coming in the in the restaurants and they had the music to slight that little elevator 1980s jazz, 1990s music. They'd play it light and you just sitting there and you're just relaxing. Now, you go in the restaurants, the music be blasting. Don't so-and-so mother f this girl so-and-so. I mean, ratchet music, too. I can't stand that, man. That just turn me off.
