On July 21st, 2023, officers responded
to a fraud complaint at the Best
Western. The victim reported his cash
app card had been fraudulently charged
$37 the previous night. Hotel staff
reviewed surveillance footage and
identified the suspect who attempted to
use the card.
All right, tell them what's going on.
So, I lost my wallet 2 days ago at
McDonald's and
then Well, she took my ID, debit card,
cashback card, my my bank information,
information, check, all of that. And
this morning when I woke up, I got a
cash out notification saying $37 was
spent here. Okay. I came here, told them
about it, and they said they had
problems or last night. Uhhuh. And I
guess she was the one that didn't use my
car at the end of the day. Kind of
trying to get all my stuff back. I gota
So you lost it at at McDonald's two days
ago. Two days ago. Someone Did you
report it when you lost it?
Well, I uh I turned my card off and some
dude on Facebook text me the next
morning saying that he found my wallet.
Okay. So, I I got off work. He brought
it to me at Walmart and when I got it, I
had everything missing out of it except
for my social. Everything was in there.
Everything was gone except for my social
was in there, but everything else. Okay.
So, when you lost it 2 days ago, you
never reported it with the sheriff's
office. No, I didn't report it. Okay. So
then yesterday some guy messaged you and
said that he brought it to you at
Walmart. Okay. And then you got it and
only your
social card. Okay. So what all was
missing? My debit card, my debit card,
my cash app card used last night and
then my ID and then a couple of other
cards that came in there. The main
things was ID, debit, and cash.
Okay. I don't know. She's probably
taking a picture of my

she was the one that got your cards and

that. Last time we had some sketchy girl

She gave us two different credit cards.
One is his that is swiped into my
computer system. Um, it said it declined
on my end. Uh, so they didn't check her
in, but she stole a key out of my key
return box and ended up staying in
there. She also stole three of my cups,
which I didn't get back postcards. I
have all this on camera. Okay. So, you
don't know her. You just got her name

I know that it was here cuz I got
notifications from my cash app and it
tells me it was spent like this place.

3079 1150 last night. Okay. That's the
only reason I knew to come up here. And
did you contact Cash App and Yeah, I
contact Cash App. She said that they
said it's pending. So I should get that
$37 back. Okay. So you're not actually
going to lose any money? No. As long as
they give you that back. Give that back.
Okay. But I already shut down my account
and I already

back from her get my ID back. I'm in the

obviously she used your card without
your knowledge and attempted to purchase
the room. So, she's definitely going to
get something. So, not entirely sure

written statement of kind of what you

want to pursue charges for theft of

supposed to pay for that? He wants to. I

try and transfer that money into a

individual. She, according to the
victim, he lost his card somewhere
around McDonald's a couple days ago. Um,
she says that she met him in this
parking lot in Wind at the Wind Dixie
parking lot. They've been talking. They
were dating for 3 days. Um, he doesn't
says he's never met her, doesn't know
who she is. Um, she attempted to use his
card last night to purchase a hotel room
and when it got denied while the lady
was trying to punch it in, she was
taking stuff off the counter. ended up
getting a lost room key that she used to
get into a room and stayed in there
overnight until they came and figured
out there was somebody in the room that
no one was supposed to be in the next
morning. Um, they're not pursuing
charges for burglary or mis uh um uh
deprivation of utilities, but what's the
charges for this this other guy? I he
has to look at the amount, but I I'm
pretty sure it was about $1,000. So,
it's most likely going to be felonious.

success of her using it was obviously
not accomplished. If it bumps it down to
a misdemeanor, I don't know. I didn't
read the statute. I'm just assisting in
his investigation. So, he's uh he he'll
explain a little bit more in depth, but
that's the that's the gist of it. Okay.
Okay. So, right now, I don't have to
deal with this other issue we were
talking about the other day. I mean, she
she is going to get a bond tonight, so
she can potentially bond out. We won't
be doing it. The suspect was charged
with fraudulent use of a credit card.
Stealing what others work hard for isn't
just illegal, it's wrong. It harms real
