It was around 7:44 p.m. on December 26th, 2024 in Eve Township, New Jersey, at the intersection of Maltton Parkway and Sagemore Drive. Two cars crashed into each other. 30-year-old Jessica Albany was driving her gray Kia. She was in the left turn only lane, but suddenly decided to turn right. She crossed the solid white line and moved into the right lane. At that moment, her car collided with Gregory Santo's black Akiraa. Gregory was in the car with his wife. Both were safe, but shocked. Jessica's car got stuck in the middle of the intersection. She looked very scared and overwhelmed. On her front seat, officers noticed an empty pill box and a used needle. Her driver's license was suspended and she had trouble finding her purse. She was crying and seemed out of it, like she wasn't fully aware of what was going on. 2211, I'm arriving. I was in the turn lane first and I was getting over to the straight lane. He was back there by the time that I went there. I was going this way and he swung him right into me. He hit me. There's no way that Why were you in the turn lane? You know, cuz I didn't know. I wasn't trying to turn. I was trying to get over cuz I was I went the wrong way. Okay. And and look how it's hit. If you were in the left lane, you should not be getting over because it's a straight line. I went in the wrong lane. I can't get over. No, because see this? See? Hold on. Hold on. Stop. You see this straight line right here? That means you can't cross over. But I didn't know that because I But that doesn't matter that you didn't know that you can't cross over. Okay. But it was I was going the wrong way. I was trying to get over this way. Okay. And I had my turning signal on. All right. Hand tight. I'm going to have you walk over here. Okay. Not my car. It's my dad's car. I was on my way. I'm going to be late for work. This is normal for someone who's broke and doesn't have their own car and gets hit. Not a rich person that has a nice car. Okay. Are you? No, you just asked if I was on drugs. No, I actually didn't. You said, "Are you on something?" I said, "Did you take any medication?" Now, I was already halfway in that lane trying to get over to this side to make the right cuz I like I said, I went the wrong way, right? And um when I was turning, there was no car there and then when I was right there, then he came out the blue out of nowhere and hit me in the uh back. So, he said you were swerving a little bit. I wasn't swerving at all. Okay, gotcha. And that's not fair that like what? Well, you have a story and he has a story, right? I have to go with both. Okay. Um the and you said Okay. Do you have a history of using or anything like that? No. Is that alcohol? I ask everybody's question. Yeah. I'm making sure you're in the right mental state that you're driving. I know you're really upset, too. And I want to make sure there's nothing else going on. There isn't, miss. There. It's called getting hit and not being able to afford a car. Okay. It's being treated like this when I don't even do anything wrong. Okay. All righty. Well, just give me a couple minutes because I want to verify your information and then I'll get back to you. Um, do you want to sit down or anything? No, I'm okay. Thank you. Okay. Do you want any medical attention? No, I'm okay. Where are you going? I'm standing right here. I did. I did. Okay. I'm also going to give you this right now, too, before I forget. This is just your accident report. Okay. So, regardless what happens, we're just going to give you one of these. All right. [Applause] anything besides those pills. I didn't have too much time to look through everything. She's just very I rate like in your face and it's not like normal upset and like she's walking and like tripping over as she walks. Um she's messing her teeth. So I'm I'm going to just run her cuz it's not her car. Yeah. Go from there. Jessica. Hi. Um, yeah. I'm sorry. Yes. It's okay. I got you. Thank you so much. Okay. Lynch, can I hop in your car to look up this info? Cuz mine is like the Wi-Fi isn't working. Anything? Okay. Besides those pills right there, I can even see what they are. Okay. My internet's down again. Yeah. Okay. What you do? I just need to look up her information and hopefully just get a deal. What is she doing? Oh, first name is Jessica. Middle initials M. No, I didn't get it. Uh, New Jersey, I assume. for what? Yeah. Hold on. County 22 211 221. Do a full look at on New Jersey. That's good. Yeah. Uh so resisting resisting obstructions 2025 registration 7224 Yeah, I know. Do you know the NJ court case or can you actually look her up in the cab? See if we have any pets. I She's just so rate and like and her pupils are all something's up. Like I can't tell if she's definitely just obscenely upset or she took too much medication or what. And then she's missing all her teeth. What's he saying? Nothing. Do you know where to go to NJ court case search in Google? Yeah. 11 21. Thank you. Um Google that. Is it Google or is it my Microsoft? Cuz it doesn't work on Microsoft for some reason. It's just all existing, right? So far, boys going down the street. Who is this? Hi. Hi. Can I help you? I'm her aunt. Okay. Do you need something or just hanging out with her? Well, I'm probably going to have to use my AAA to get her tote on. Well, we're getting her tote already. So Oh, really? Yeah. We got to get her off the road at this point. Um I'm going to have you hang in your car and then when we're I'm ready to have you speak to her, we'll do so. Okay. I think that's All right. Well, right now we're investigating this crash. Why? Because we're in Messi in the crash and we're talking to her right now. So, if you just want to hang out in your car since you're here just to help with triple A and we got the toe. So, who's who's uh it's going to be Eagle Smith, right? Eagle. It's Eagle. Yeah. You got to get a toe form with all the information on Is this your car or is this your No, she's just here to help. Yeah. So, again, if you could just hang in the car and then when we need you, we'll grab you. [Applause] She's not. Okay. Miss Jessica, what's up? Anything? She's already excited. Okay. I was just trying to get Miss Who you calling now? I'm on the phone with my aunt still. Your aunt's here. Oh, okay. Thank you. No, you're not allowed to go with her right now. I'm still talking to you. Okay. Um, can you hang up the phone then? All right. I have to hang up the phone. Is that your aunt or somebody else? Cuz she's talking to me. No, no, no, no. I was on the phone with me. I was with someone else. Okay. Um, did you did you know your driver's license was suspended? It's not suspended. I called DMV. I called him and they said that it's not suspended. Okay. It is. I just verified it and I checked it. You're not allowed to be driving anymore. They told me I didn't have a suspended license. I was on the phone with them for hours. I even have a print out that says that my license was reinstated months ago. Months ago. This is October 31st is when I filed everything and sent it in there. It was a whole thing because I got uh that because of I got pulled over and they tried to give me um a ticket for uh my uh registration or whatever, but I don't own a car or whatever. I had his registration, but they because I had a car. They uh whatchamacall that thing where you don't reup your uh registration and you get uh your license suspended because of it. But I sold my car. Listen, I I appreciate you telling me this, but it is suspended. I don't understand because I called them and and they even I understand but it's suspended because of your insurance information. Oh yeah, that's insurance but I don't have a car. I even brought You want to let me speak for a second? And the insurance that you have you gave me is expired as of May. Oh well, no. He he has an updated Okay. Well, not one that you gave me. Okay. It said 2025. Okay. It did. The I I understand what you say. The one you gave me was 2024. It wasn't in general. You shouldn't be driving cuz your license is No, but it's not though. I called the DMV. You don't understand. I even have I do understand what you are saying, but I'm telling you it is suspended and you are not allowed to be driving. Okay. But it's not though. That's what I understand. Um, so what I'm going to do is I have one more piece of paperwork to look into and then since you you just seem very upset right now and this is a very upsetting thing. I can totally understand getting in a crash treated like I did. Um, do you want to let me finish? So I I'm going to put you through a field sobriety test to make sure you're in the complete right of mind. I'm upset and I don't like how I'm being treated. Okay. Well, listen. I I believe I've treated you with nothing but respect, but but that is your So, I'm going to have you put your bag down. Um and we're going to we're going to revisit this in one second. Okay. Well, stop reaching in your bag. All I did was put my light in your bag. I said just stop reaching in your bag. Just put your bag down. my bag because I'm going to come and give you testing. Can I give my aunt my bag? Because I don't feel comfortable putting my bag. Do you want me to give your aunt your bag? I can give my aunt right now. Why can't I see my aunt? Because we're doing an investigation right now. Yeah, but that's my aunt. Why can't I understand? Not right now. I didn't do it. Leave it. Stay there. Yeah. No, I'm not in no rush. Just do your thing and then I'll wait in the truck and then when you're ready for me, I'll I'll got you. Let me pull out that warranty and I'll get back to you, buddy. No problem. I just want to look at the results. Put it in a few seconds, but Okay. It's coolish sitting in her car. Yeah. She wasn't happy, but I mean, regardless of what the outcome is, we're getting the car out. The car's gone. Yeah. Yeah. It's just if I'm if I'm Yeah. I still got fill that. Yeah. possession of CVS of DUI before a year ago. 05 2023. Okay. I'm going to do testing. I'm just going to shut this. Oh, you did it for me. Thank you. All right. Okay. I I thought you I thought there was something coming. Miss Jessica, um, when I asked you before if you had any history of CDS use, I saw that you had a operation while in possession of CDS. What was that about? What is a CDS? Uh, drugs. No, I didn't have any drugs. That was that was shown in your record. So, I was just wondering when I clarified like in that makes completely sense. Okay, gotcha. Well, listen. I'm going to put you under testing. Can you drop your bag now? I'm going to bring it with me. No, you're you're going to drop it. Okay. All right. Do you have anything in your Do you have anything in your pocket that would affect your balance or anything like that? Let me I don't know where my face is. I don't have anything else. No, we use my phone, my straps. Okay. Backwards ABCD thing I can't even do regularly. Well, let me make it a little happier. I'm I'm not even doing that. Okay, then let's go. Um I'm going to have them turn off their lights and then we're going to start it. Okay. All right. Just work perfectly straight. Neither do I. I don't think any of us work perfectly straight. This is not right. This is not right. No. [Music] Are you kidding me? Are you following me? Yes. Oh, sorry. Um, can you just turn off your back lights and put the hazards just so we don't have an issue with the eye test? Thank you so much. 211 female for turn. You're back on. Okay, Ian, can you turn it all the way off for me? Thank you. All right. Okay. Is there anything else in your pockets or did you take everything out? Everything out. Okay, Miss Jessica. So, we're going to do three tests. One is going to be your eyes. Two are going to be balance tests. I'm going to use this line right here since it's pretty straight. No debris. Right. Right. Um Okay, let's start. All right. I'll do my eyes first. All right, Jessica. So, I'm going to do your eye test first. Okay. All right. So, what I want you to do, all right, I know it's chilly out. Just put your hands to your side, though. All right. And put your feet together. Just like so. All right. I'm sorry. Spin around so those lights aren't blinding you. You can face me. I'm sorry. Okay. So, same thing. Feet together to your side. All right. Do you have any recent concussions or head injuries? Okay. Do you wear glasses or do you have any eye contact? No, I haven't worn it yet. I know it's cold, but can you keep your hands? All right. So, what I want you to keep your head still. All right. And you're just going to follow tip my phone with your eyes and your eyes only. Okay. So, wherever your ice pen goes is where your eyeballs go. Keep your head still. You understand that? See my mic. All right. Yeah. You take your test. I'm sorry. Yeah, I took it right before I left. Yeah, I can't see all the way up. This is my left eye. Okay. Yeah, I'll take it as far as I can. Thank you. Can't see your head. Okay. [Music] You're going to walk too far. Yeah, I know. I did. Take your eyes all the way out as far as I can go. Okay. You see it? Mhm. I'm still looking. [Music] finish. Hi, that's right. Yeah, it was later earlier today. Yeah, I was nice. Use some dry. So this next test, okay, it's another line test, okay? It's called electroverted test. Okay. So what I'm going to do, I'm going to go around your face two times. I'm going to come in towards your nose. I'm never going to touch your nose. Okay? Just solid tip my pen. Let's begin. kind of hurting. Oh, that's All right, take your second. Get your eyes adjust. Yeah, take a second. Let your eyes relax. Okay, you good? All right. Um, I'm going to have you stay on this line and I'm going to have you stand right here and I'm going to have you face me now and we'll turn around. Okay. So, what we're going to do is we're going to do two additional tests. The first being the walk and turn test. Okay. Okay. All right. Um, you said you were coming from where? Uh, yeah, I know you're on your way to Tasty Key. Yeah. Yeah. I I got it turned around, but yeah, I was coming from my house. Okay, gotcha. Where your dad lives? Um, yeah. Okay. Gotcha. All right. Um, so I'm going to have you get in the starting position for this. It's going to be your right foot in front of your left. What? I just don't. Okay. Right in front of left. Dad, keep going. Okay. Get in the starting position. Going to be your right foot in front of your left. Heel toe fashion with your arms at your side. I need you to keep them out of your pockets for this one. Okay. It's very hard cuz like I Okay. All right. So, what are we doing now? So, you're just going to stay into that position until I tell you to start. Okay. So, go back into the position I told you to. Perfect. Um, gotcha. Um, so I said your arms at your side, not in the air. Oh, I thought you said about that. It's okay. Um, you're going to go heel toe fashion. If you can move your arm, your feet like this. Okay. Just the way I'm doing. Okay. Just listen to me, okay? Don't start until I tell you to do so. All right. So, what you're going to do is you're going to take nine heel totoe steps on this straight line going forward. Once you get to that ninth, you're going to take a small series of steps and turn back the same way you came and take nine more heel to toe steps. The entire time I want you to keep your arms at your side. I want you to keep your head looking down at your feet and I want you to count those steps out loud. Okay? Do you understand that? Yes. Okay. I'm going to show you just so you have a visual picture. Right? You want to look at me? All right. It's going to look something like this. So, you're going to go one, two, three, all the way to nine. I'm just doing three to save us time. Okay. Once you get to that nine step, you're going to keep that one foot planted and take a small series of steps facing the same way you came back and take another one, two, three, all the way to nine steps. Does that make sense? Make sure you keep your hands at your side, look down at your feet, and count out loud. Okay. Okay. All right. Do you have any questions? Nope. Okay. So, you completely understand the test. Yep. All right, you want to get back into that starting position and whenever you're ready, you can start the test. One, two, three, four, five, 6 7 8 9 turn. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Okay, on my leg. It's going to be the one leg stand test. For this, I want you to just keep your feet together right on this line. Y just like that. all the way together and your hands at your side. That's going to be the starting position for this one. I just want you to completely listen to me until I tell you to start the test. Okay? All right. Uh what you're going to do is you're going to raise one leg of your choosing. Whichever one's easiest for you about 6 in parallel to the ground, keeping your hands at the side and looking down at your leg. You are going to count out loud. 1 1 2 100 3 100 and keep going until I tell you to stop. Does that make sense? I'm going to show you how to do it just so you have a visual picture. Okay. Um, so either leg of your choosing, hands at your side, 6 in parallel to the ground. You're going to look down and you're going to count out loud. 1 1,00 2 100 3 100 all the way until I tell you to stop. Does that make sense? Any questions? Okay. I'm just Do you have a watch on you? Yeah. Yeah. Can you set a 30 second timer for me? What? Yeah. Are you talking to me or just yourself? Oh, okay. All right. You are just going to start it once she starts. Okay. All righty. Miss Jessica, are you ready? Do you have any questions at all? Okay. Keep your hands at your side, please. And like I said, whenever you're ready, you can start. Okay. 4 1 2 1 Look down at your leg. Like I said, 3 100,000. Like I said, 400 500 6 100 700 8 1 9 100 Uh 10 100 11,000 12 100 13 100 15 1 Keep your arms at your side, please. 1,000 17 1,000 This 8,000 19,000 21,000 Okay, you can put your leg down. Can you just hang out with this officer right here for a second? Any medical attention? I just want to check with you. Okay. What do you find over there? What did you find out there? Could be glass. It could be crap rock. Okay. Gotcha. Okay. I'm going to take a look at it. Is it with him? Okay. What what you got there, buddy? I So, like it's really clear, so I don't know. I don't know if it's anything or not. Okay. But it bounced out. So, I I can't determine 100% whether that's drug or not, but like as she put her hand out her pocket, I saw it like bounce by her foot. I don't know if it was there and just got kicked at that time, but it like happened as she put her hand out pocket. So, Bernie. So, what do you think the UI was now? I I think so. Yeah. And she's she's just starting the test before she was even going. Um, I got watch test. Yeah. Um, did you get anything on your little eye thing? I know you got zero for for the other thing. That was just for like marijuana and stuff like that. Gotcha. Um, and then did you see the pills in the car? Um, okay. But she didn't have, like I said, she didn't have any HDN. The presidents would give her and she didn't even have it. Yeah. She said she took it before she left. Okay. And that that would align with the teeth. Yeah. Teeth could just be any could be anything. I mean, it could be anything, but if I'm looking at Yeah. those. Yeah. Okay. I I didn't watch any test, so I can't help you out. Yeah. No, I know. I understand that.
