in trouble on I just joined the army
okay on September 11th 2023 police were
dispatched to JC Penney after loss
prevention observed a suspect concealing
$147 in merchandise and leaving without
paying when confronted the suspect
resisted recovery
efforts so what's going on what happened
so we first getting one of the makeup
items out and then she kind of just made
her way around this area like picking up
random stuff um use a fitting room twice
and that's where she concealed okay so
she would pick certain things go in
there the first time she concealed a
shirt
underwear um and a bra and she ripped
the tags off put them in the dicky pants
that she had and just hung it up there
um
then came back around walked the entire
store again picked out more items went
back in concealed more items she's
ripping tags off everything for yeah
okay um is it all on video M well mean
not in the obiously the fitting room but
but the you know selecting and then
passing All Points of sale where'd you
guys stop her right here through these
doors yep and who was it that stopped
her was it you and someone else me and
yeah and then explain how that was when
you stopped her um so first was stuff I
told her who I was J P ask protection
asked her what she did with the stuff um
she kept denying stuff kept denying
stuff she was like oh I'll just show you
I'll just show you um real ancy and like
came back in here and I'm like no like
just come into the
office once we came in
she what' she do uh she's just fany and
wouldn't wouldn't tell us where the
stuff was at and then finally she was
like okay okay like I got it and she
took it out of her bag gave us all the
stuff uh we did have to look for like
the box for like elf and stuff M um but
the tags we were able to recover cuz she
would just stick them in the pants that
she didn't want um and I kept trying to
go for her bag so she'd be chill and
then she would start freaking out
talking about I can't get in trouble I'm
in the military things like that and
then she tried to go for her bag and
okay yeah did she have her T brace when
you just had control her with uh when
you just like brought her into custody
right your prot custody because of the
shop right did she have her pant sprays
try to kind of evade you guys at all yes
she did yeah okay can you elaborate on
how that was I'm just trying to if we
can't run charger with without too so um
she just kept trying to reach for the
back so we were thinking that it's not
so much yeah it's not so much that she
would go she wasn't very Cooperative in
other wordss right yeah she was
just the reaching for the bag part cuz
we don't know what she had in correct
okay you have her handcuffs or just just
had her had her person and walk oh yeah
we don't she was and then she started
freaking out when she knew that you guys
were coming and then she was like no cuz
we were she handed us a bag at first
willingly so I put it on top and then
she like freaked out I was like no I
can't be here and grabbed her bag and
you don't know what she
had and that's when she freaked out and
that's when I called her11 okay what is

value was of all stuff rece
I so I heard that something was going on
between you guys before I got here guys
are arguing or whatever fighting and
stuff listen um if you're cool with me
I'll be cool with you so don't play any
Sila games or like that cuz I don't
want you getting yourself in more

detained right this doesn't mean you're

figure out what's going on um however I

pertaining to what happened okay um for

and the right to have an attorney
present during questioning okay if you
want an attorney but can afford to hire
an attorney won't be appoint to
represent you before and during
questioning free of charge meaning that
like you know public defenders they're
free so if you need an attorney before
you want to talk to us they're free
they'll they'll call you whenever and
they'll figure that stuff out for you
okay meaning that I will not ask you a
question till there's one for
you understand okay uh you may use any
of these rights at any time before
during questioning and you may stop the
interview any time if you say that you
want to talk I ask you a question you
don't like that you don't like that I
asked you don't want to answer it
because you think it's going to get you
in trouble then don't say anything you
don't have to you can stop right there
be like I'm done okay it also gives you
that option okay do you understand these
rights okay are you will to answer
questions or make a statement without an
attorney being
present so like are you willing to talk
much is what that means okay okay um has
anyone threatened you coerced you or
promised you anything to cause you
answer questions or make a
statement has anyone threatened you coed
you the guy said that he could like
literally like throw me on the ground
like I don't know if that counts talking
about me me reading this you okay all
right um so did you steal from the JC
Penny here yes you did

know and you've done this before this is
not the first time
just went is that on Walmart who showed
up to that pcpd or us um not you guys it
was just like a was it police from Plant
City Plant City police department and it
was the same you had like a process you
had to do to get out of there

qualify for us you might not depends um
but I'm going to work on that right now
I'm going to turn the AC on so I don't
overheat here um I'm going to go finish
my paperwork and I'm figure it out for
you all right is there any way get my
phone to somebody not right now but when
I'm done you can we'll figure that out

though you have no drugs in your bag no
nothing like that right just give me a

do to jail right they're going to put it
in some area where you're going to have
to pick it up when you're out of jail
it's a pain in the butt okay so it's if
it's easier to leave it in your car with
the car keys so someone takes your car
brings it home you can have all your
stuff there not have to worry about it
especially I won't throw your Vape away

you okay you want to put the keys in the

I wouldn't arrest you for something like
that but there there are cops out there
that would okay so I want you to get
yourself in trouble obviously that's not
what we're here for right now but in in
the future right so whenever I am
released I guess how long is it
should be it should be within the night
so as long as everything goes well okay

have a girl coming to check you out
sometime she's coming we're waiting on
her again all right

this right side makes it easier when she
gets here the suspect just 18 and newly
enlisted in the Army faces charges of
petty theft and resisting it's a
challenging start to her adult life
