What's good everybody? Welcome back to SNK Unlimited. We back with another body cam video. Shout out to Explore with us for this video or EW body cam. That's the same people. Explore. Yeah. Listen, when I saw this thumbnail, I said, "We got to get into this. I got to see what's going on." So, without further ado, let's get into it. Two officers respond to a report of a physical domestic disturbance. They have no idea that they're taking their final steps toward one of the most horrifying police encounters ever documented. The police department releases an edited body cam to the public, but it's only now that the full story of this bleak tragedy can be told. Here comes the Yep. I will hurry, baby. Okay. The following report is based on official police records, and most of the footage has never been seen before until now. On November 7th, 2024, two officers with the Independence, Missouri Police Department respond to an apartment complex for a domestic disturbance. Are you involved in this? That's my wife. Okay. I just dropped her off. Go get your gas. And I guess she got they beat her up. Okay. Is that person involved? Uh, this is my husband. No. Is that person involved? No, not that person. No. Okay. What's going on? I I called my son and asked him if I if it's okay for me to come up here to see my granddaughter. The officers determined after speaking to the woman that she's been assaulted and they go up to the apartment to investigate. The officers wait to speak with the occupants, Mitchell Holder and Maria Pike, not yet knowing that they are only minutes away from a moment of shocking violence and irreversible consequences. But this isn't the Independence Police Department's first encounter with Maria, who called 911 two weeks earlier to report that her infant daughter was not breathing. Fell asleep on her baby. What the heck bleeding? Yeah. Where is she burning a little bit from her mouth? I'm going to sleep on her. Okay. Look, you're going to you're going to go to the hospital. 643. You've got control coming out. Maybe a little more forward. Okay. Fell asleep on her. She fell asleep on the baby. Is there anything there? No. I had mouth to mouth. She's scared. She's scared. Hold on. He's got to look inside. Okay. Back here. It's a little red. Good. Hey, Ro. Why is he bleeding? As the medics tend to Maria and her baby, additional officers respond to the scene. Hey, we need to take some deep breaths. Okay. Hey, hey, hey, ma'am. Hey, look. Baby's here doing good. What's her name? What's her name? Little tiny baby. She fell asleep on it. He's breathing. Got some blood coming out of his nose a little bit. I didn't see obstructing an airway as well, but I couldn't tell if it was further down. I'm not sure. So, you know, I always do my little mid midway pause. Now, we didn't done two stories with blood coming out the nose of a baby. Nope. And it always end up being something with drugs. I don't know about this case, right? U we haven't watched this video, so we don't know. And I'm assuming that the mama on drugs or something. Yeah, something's not right. Yeah, something ain't right. Clearly. Yeah. Let's just get back into it. [Music] Yeah. Hey, ma'am. Let's get him in the back. You got I got him. I got her. I need your help. We need you to stay here. We're going to do some things. Okay. Ma'am, let's get some information. We got to talk to you. Okay. Let's get some information. All right. We'll get it from you. What's your name? What's your Okay, hold on. Ma'am, wait. Where? They're not taking her away. They're helping her. We're going to get you to her. Okay. There is nothing you can do right now except talk to us. Okay. You have a camp back there? No. My boyfriend. You got to stay still and talk to me. Say she doesn't sleep in the woods. She will sleep in the woods. In the woods. Hey, come over here. What? Sleep in the woods. What are you doing? Ma'am, there's nothing you can do. Let them do their thing. And we're going to take this. Hey, ma'am. You got to talk. Okay. What happened? fell asleep on her. The officer takes Maria's knife, ominously foreshadowing the tragedy that will unfold on November 7th. Meanwhile, other officers inspect her wooded campsite. Got a little sh or a little ramshackle camp. It's posted. So, I mean, hopefully they take this kid away from her. Probably not. living out here in a they'll call her and they'll do one of those sit down meeting things and call it a day. Out at the road, the EMTs are concerned that Maria may have had a more active role in harming her baby. Hey, look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Did you hit her in the face at all in any way? Like trying to trying to help her or anything like that? Have you accidentally struck her in the face? No. No. We're just trying to figure We're just trying to keep her on this side of the road. From where? I her nose, her mouth. I was trying to resuscitate her. Please don't leave. Please don't leave. What? Oh, and I'm squeezing her. I was shaking her. Trying to wake her up. She said she was shaking. Yes. Slightly shaking. Yes. Let's take a seat. But if Maria's composure is tenuous, it's only when the ambulance begins pulling away with her baby that she loses control. My baby. Okay. Make sure that she's healthy. Okay. She has to go to the hospital. Okay. It's okay. It's okay. Listen, Mariah. Hey, Mariah. It is fine. What's important right now is your baby's going to the hospital. Okay. Okay. Listen to me. Listen to my words. Hey, let go of this car cuz they're going to go towards your daughter. Okay. So, let's let go of this car. Let's let go of this car. I need to let go of this now. Fine. Stop. Oh my god. The officer's assurances don't make it any easier to get information from the distraught mother. Hey, right now you need to for your daughter. I know you are. So, hey, we need to try to get a hold of your dad so that we can figure this out. What is your dad's name? [Music] If you don't be somebody else, [Applause] her eyes are she's high. Yes. Drugs combined with postpartum combined with shock. The holy trinity. The cops go through Maria's belongings and get some information about her daughter before making plans about what to do next. It's called Yeah, Destiny is the kid's name. It was in her phone. Yeah, we're going to take the kiddo into protective custody. Sit on the kid until DFS gets there. Um trying to figure out. I called Hineer. He's wanting a little bit more information. Sounds like if she's not talking, she's just completely just shut down. I mean, just nothing. Maria is taken to the hospital for a psychiatric hold and baby Destiny is placed with a foster family for the night. One week later, two officers head out to the apartment where Maria is staying to check on the baby's well-being. They gave her back. Where is it? Police department. Cop said that though. Okay. What do you want? We're just coming to check on Must be a time before. Yeah, the cop did say that in the beginning. He's like they go sit do a sit down with her and probably give the baby back. There's no goddamn way I would have gave her back to him. Yeah, that's crazy, man. That That's why stuff be happening like this. It's crazy, man. Yeah. Uh, your daughter, I believe she's fine. Okay. Well, tell the division to come check on her. Okay. Can we just see him real quick and then we can get out of here? Do you have a warrant? Maria, we're not here. Nobody's in trouble. We just need to check on Destiny. This is ridiculous. For the record, you're being recorded. Okay, you're being recorded, too. We just need to see the kid cuz what they're doing is legal. They're trying to take all my parental rights and I have full custody. I have the paperwork. You want to see the paperwork? Just need to see the kid. Just real quick. Okay. Don't step in real quick. I've already triggered it right. Okay. Thank you, honey. Can you just bring her right here? She's going to be staying here with her dad. Who's her dad? You're the father. I don't know. Okay. All right. Appreciate it. You guys got food and everything, diapers? Yeah. Can I have badge numbers and names? The officers give her their badge numbers and leave. But it's only five short days later that police are called out to Maria's door once again. This time by a social worker who says the couple is not responding. So, the baby is in the house. Um, I I believe the parents are inside. They're not opening the door. They have mental concerns. So, what is what are you wanting from us? Um, is there a way that like we could try to open the door? The police say that isn't an option, but they go along with her to knock on the apartment. It's November 6th, 2024. Only one day before Maria and Destiny's story reaches its unimaginable conclusion. They are in there because they just let two home come out. I was sitting right there while she was out there and my son opened the door and and then shut the door on my face. Yeah. I mean, unfortunately, yeah. Um I'm not saying that they're making good decisions, but they're allowed to have who they see fit in their house. about a week ago, they actually um their baby got into our custody because I got you. Mom ran out of the house because of the domestic violence concern. Um and mom kind of mentioned it, but then she pulled it back and she was downplaying it and she The baby still in her custody? No. So, we brought the baby back to them. Okay. Neither Mitchell nor Maria open the door and almost exactly 24 hours later, Tisa calls 911 to report that Maria assaulted her. The police show up again, but this time Mitchell lets them inside. Did you do something illegal? No. Okay. So, can we come and talk about what's going on? Uh, I accept your terms. What's up? The two officers enter the apartment where they find Maria in the bedroom closet with Destiny in her arms. Hi there. [Music] What's your name? Can you come out here, please? Please. [Music] I got her in the closet. I don't know what happened because I was in the Are you okay? Are you hurt? Okay, can we put the baby down? Come here and talk and figure out what's going on. As the officers try to coax Maria out of the closet, other cops begin racing to the scene. One of the officers is working in here that responded that call. She said the last time she was contacted, she had a large knife in a knife holder attached to her belt. With that unsettling warning coming over the radio, they prepare for what they're walking into. They're both off, by the way. He gets SS. Yes. They have an incident. They have a baby. This is the problem. That is super concerning. Unfortunately, if there was anything these two could have done to change the nightmarish course of events to follow, they simply don't get there in time. 44 connection to resolve this. Who is 44? That would be Heather. Hang on. Can you stay here, please? Learn the movie before you get rid of the baby. Yeah. Okay. We just want to help out and we don't want that baby to get hurt. That's all we care about. Okay. We don't want that baby to get hurt. Do you want the baby to get hurt? That's okay. I don't speak. Tell me. I I caught the first one. I get the rest of it. Hey, Mitchell, does she speak or is it sign language only? It's only sign language. What? Can you tell us what she's saying? She writes some things down so I can talk to her sometimes. She can tell. She can tell. Are you able to understand what I say? Can you understand me? Yes or no? You understand me? Sure. from this continent born from then you would know. I mean does she understand you when you talk? This is what I'm talking about. When you mental got mental illness and you on drugs or something else. Yeah. You should not be able to have kids. Yes. I say this all the time in the videos, other videos. They should have something in life. Say no, no mental ill people can have kids. Not trying to be funny. Yeah. Right. But stuff like this, right? Yeah. Sometimes I feel like we're having games, too. No, we have like communication skills that we have problems with, too. But we communicate. That's not a good idea to have the baby. You're bobbing the baby's head around. Please don't do that. Yeah, I'm with you. Okay, here comes that. Yep, I'm hurry baby. Okay. The other responders finally arrive at the building, but the situation inside the apartment has reached the point of no return. Can just stop. [Music] Go. Officer Jordan White raises his gun as Maria approaches and fires four quick shots in a row. Uh 32 shots fired. Someone just shot me and Heather in the apartment. Oh my god. Get the baby. Get the baby. Get the baby. The baby's got her in the baby. What the [ __ ] Stay down. Stay down. I am him up. Cut him up. Back now. I didn't do nothing. 135 the baby's chat. I need AMR immediately. Dude, you shot the baby. He shot the baby. I know damn well he didn't. I wasn't expecting that. See, okay. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought she had got to the cop and and hit and did something to Yeah. did something to him. I didn't know it was the baby. Wow. Wow. What the I mean, okay, it's catch 22. It's a catch 22 on that. Yeah. To save your life. Yes. Or do you try? You know what I'm saying? Yeah. That's hard. When somebody coming at you and charging, you just shot bye bye bye bye. I would I I know we not in that situation. Yeah. I would have did like this so it won't hit the baby. Or try to shoot her in the leg or something. Yeah. In the leg like pow shot up so you won't hit the baby or something, man. Like I can't believe this is the first time I heard this man. Wow. I know that's on his conscious, man. Like crazy. Well, maybe maybe they just thought so. Maybe. Hopefully. Let's see. Yeah, let's see. Let's see. What did I do? Just relax. God damn it. Come here. Come here. Come here. Take the baby and get the baby out. Get the baby out. And you killed the baby. You killed the baby, too. I remain myself and you killed her. You killed my girlfriend and what the hell? I know, right? And the baby. The other responding officer finally comes inside, walking straight into the chaotic aftermath. Woman did. I didn't do nothing. Officer, that officer shot her. And the baby else to do with her. He shot her. Stay calm. And the baby, sir. Why are you arresting him? Okay. Hey, we need to get the cuffs off her. She's going into uh she's stopping cuffs off of me, too, cuz I didn't do nothing. Shot her. Get the cuffs off her. Start CPR. And you shot the baby. What are you doing, officers? Well, she's trying to stab me, guys. So, the officers start compressions on Maria, but there is to be no happy ending. Baby Destiny is taken to the hospital where life-saving efforts end at 2:33 p.m. 5 minutes after that, her mother is pronounced dead at the scene. Dude, you live? You good? You good? Yeah, I'm okay. All I could see was the Shut the up. It's okay. All I could see was the knife. Didn't even see anything. Is Chad good? Chad's good. Okay. [Music] In a March 2025 statement, the Jackson County prosecutor announced that no charges would be filed against the officer who shot Maria and her baby, saying, "The evidence in this case shows the officer responded to an immediate threat of deadly force. The suddeness of the attack left no time for a different response, and the officer had no space to retreat." The report from the medical examiner revealed Maria's history of psychiatric conditions, including major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and psychosis. The toxicology report, however, showed no traces of drugs in her system. A GoFundMe started by Mitchell's sister raised nearly $9,000 for funeral expenses. Maria Masha Pike was 34. Her daughter, Destiny, was just two and a half months old. Man, we didn't know about this. Give y'all a trigger warning. Yeah, we Yeah, we didn't know. I wish I can go back. I may do a beginning video to say trigger warning on this. This right here is crazy. But okay. Yeah. Okay. I always said I'm going be fair on this channel. Yeah. We going to be fair. Mhm. I I I I see both sides. Yeah. Most definitely. Because I'm like I'm hurt as a child. Yes. You know what I'm saying? So and there's no coming back from that. Yeah. Yeah. He didn't get no charges, but he got to deal with that mental the rest of his life. That's worse than getting charged and getting fired. You'll never be the same no more, man. But at the same time, she was coming at him. Yeah. And you and somebody come you trying to save your life and you just Yeah. I put myself in his shoes. Yeah. I know it was shocking that he see to see that he didn't get no charges, but that meant to go play on him, man, for the rest of his life. A child. Yes. That's crazy. Not just a child. Mother, too. That's a infant. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow, that's crazy, man. I just D that ain't touched me. Yeah, it got me, man. A little bit. I ain't gonna lie here, y'all. We We try to be real with our feelings on here. Some of these stories get to you sometime. Yeah, that that's crazy. I'm sitting here thinking in in no way, shape, or form you. How I say it is sometimes not how you want to express it fully, but you just have to say it to get it out. I wonder if this would have been an easier way, you know, because of the baby dealing with parents going to foster homes. I've heard horror stories about kids being raised by abusive neglecting um you know, neglected parents in foster home care. And this was just like a tragic life from beginning to her short end. Only two months, mom's homeless, and I don't know who let them come and stay in the house. I mean, I don't know. I I didn't understand what they were saying before, but yeah, it it just was crazy how involved the police were. So, I guess how it ended, it was better for that cop to all of them, you know, having um footage of her mental illness, them getting called back three or four times, her something happening to the baby so that there could be like a timeline. I guess that's why probably he wasn't charged at all. Yeah. The timeline of seeing how she say she slept on the baby and already dealing with off things. And you know on this channel, let me say this. I want go back to something you said on this channel, we say things that people probably think but are scared to say. Yeah. And I know I know what you're saying. I was about to get on to what you were saying like maybe you was feeling like that child life would have been probably hell. Yes. Dealing with off parents and being in the foster care. Yes. And stuff like that. Nothing nothing can compare to being dead. Right. Right. Of course not. But at the same time, man, we don't know how that child's life would have been, man. Exactly. And it and I just I just hate that it happened this way. Yeah. And man, I I I I feel bad for all of them, but especially that cop, cuz that that's on his mental. Yes. For the rest of his life, man. No matter what, he gonna always think about that. And he might like in the movies, they start drinking and going crazy. I hope that he handles it well, man. Yeah. Cuz I don't It's That's a This whole thing was crazy. That's crazy. I I've never seen anything like this before, but I know it's probably hundreds of stories. Yeah. of where a police officer has to think and do the unimaginable to save their own life. Yeah. And it's understandable. I I completely get it. Um I understand, man. I I say all the time without having these videos recorded and we getting to see it. I had a whole different story or idea of what police go through and I was just like, "Wow, let me go back and shut the [ __ ] up of everything I said about them." Me too. I would not want to be in their shoes a day. You know, we have we have our views about cops from things we see in the news and what we see around us almost every every day. Yep. But man, when you watch these videos right here, you get much respect for them. Yeah, man. They deal with a lot. I'm surprised they go home being sane. Oh, yes. Most definitely. Yeah, most definitely. So, that's all I got to say about this one, man. This one right here was a rough right here, right y'all. I'm telling y'all, man. Like y'all got to let me know what y'all think about this in the comments. We want to hear the feedback to this. All right. Um this is a crazy story. This is crazy. Shout out again to EW Youth Body Cam for this video. Make sure y'all hit that like and share. Subscribe. Go ahead and subscribe to this channel, man, cuz we got plenty more videos coming. We really love and appreciate y'all on this channel. This is SNK Unlimited and we're out.
