Shout out to EW Body Cam for this video. We're not going to waste any time. Let's get into it to see what it's all about today. Hunt for their missing loved one ends in a gruesome discovery. But their quest for answers from the last known person to see him alive won't come easy. On November 29th, 2024, a 15-year-old calls 911 in Broward County, Florida, to report finding the body of his father, 46-year-old Jason Bloomfield. >> Are you with him now? Hello? >> Um, no. No, I'm not. I want to go there. It's um I'm um just come come please, >> sir. We need to get him some help until the units arrive. We don't know how long this has been going on for. If someone could please get on the line. >> He's dead. He's gone. >> Okay. Tell me why you think that. What exactly did you see? >> The teen struggles to explain what he saw. And once first responders arrive at the scene, they quickly understand why. >> It's laying like face down. It's starting to decompose a little bit, but there's like weird pieces of clothing that have blood all over on it. >> Okay. >> It's weird looking. They keep yelling about someone killed. >> Jason's mother and son described what they noticed as soon as they entered his home that morning. went in automatically um a fly fool out. That's not my dad. Okay. If you met my dad before that smelled good. >> What did you see when you did it? >> Everything was regular though. The living room was regular. >> Everything in the bathroom was regular. >> You know what I'm saying? The bathroom was regular except for the to was a um bin with a pillow on it. >> It was what >> a bin with a pillow in it. We went back to the living room. You know what I'm saying? >> Grandma was like, "Okay, um what's this? What's what's this what's this uh door right here?" Right. I said, "Open this door." >> Well, wait a minute. You moved a couch. >> Someone pull that couch up and put him in the closet. >> The room Jason's body is found in is blocked by a couch. Under it, detectives find dried blood with drag marks, while bedding found in the shower appears to have been cleaned. >> As officers piece the scene together, their attention turns to the youngest relative there. >> I want to go home. >> I know, baby girl. I know. >> I don't want to stay. >> He saw him on a bed sheet. with his clothes off him naked and then he saw his head chopped off on the floor and he had shot him on his neck. She was trauma man the rest of her life >> and they said he he ate his meat. She ate his his like his body when he take off his skin. Take off his >> Who says that? >> My my family over there. >> While their account may not be entirely accurate, the little girl mentions something investigators later confirm. Gunshot wounds on Jason's body. Detectives also find bullet casings at the scene, including two inside a bottle of bleach and more hidden under a mattress. >> Let me tell you something, man. Just her saying that gave me chills. Yes. >> Like hearing a a young girl talk that >> like that dude said she would be traumatized. >> Yes. >> They make up things in their head I guess to >> I you know I we'll talk about it later but it's something we do to paint a picture or something to be believable like but this is her real life. She seen this in real life. >> Yeah. That's crazy man. >> He had a gun and his gun is gone. >> Was it inside Dallas? >> Yeah. That's the gun she probably shot him with. >> You told him that. >> Yes. >> Who is she? >> Who is she? >> It's a bullet in the um It's some bullets in the door under >> Officers learned that Jason's family had last heard from him one week ago and that they made attempts to locate him through his neighbors. >> When When the first time we came? >> That was Tuesday. >> Tuesday. >> Knocked on the door. >> No, we didn't knock nothing. >> She said she didn't see him at all. The car wasn't here. Nothing. >> Okay, that makes sense. >> We left. Jason's family had not seen him for several days. As news of his death spreads, his 37year-old girlfriend, Veyanita Linen, arrives after receiving a text from Jason's sister. She learns quickly, however, that she is not welcome at his home. >> Stand over is >> lock up. >> Is he okay though? The way y is it is crazy. You said when she say he's dead. All she text was Jason been found dead. I know he has heart problems and I know but the way you guys are out here is like is I thought she was talking about the dog. I'm like dead. I'm like I hope Bella's okay but then when I seen Jason almost passed the out cuz I have I ain't going to say I'm like a spiritual guru but I have premonition visions of things and you know like feeling you know you get that eerie feeling. You go in any area, you could be all right. But when you go in except certain area, you like >> that's what happened. That's what happened. [screaming] >> Oh my god. You hear them kids back there, man? >> Yes. >> The police could have did something. They could have seen something. It's not fair. >> This is not fair. >> Jason's autopsy performed on the 30th of November, 2024 shows that he was shot approximately 12 times in the face, head, back, and arm. His sister recounts the last messages she received from his number. Friday when I got home, I text. I said, "Jason, have you got the car fixed yet?" The text said, "No, I don't know if the text came from me." And this was 11:30 Saturday or not. I'm okay. You know, me and Rita broke up and stuff. >> How long ago did you guys break up? >> It wasn't a broke. He just kicked me out. >> When did he kick you out? >> I don't remember the date. I don't think >> like a week a couple days. >> No. Um, >> two days before Thanksgiving. >> Okay. >> I've been at my granddad's house. Yeah. Okay. So, very I've been at my granddad's house. We always fight. Excuse me. He always throwing me out, putting my get out. >> That's normal. So it's just kind of like >> I worry about him. He has seizures. He has heart problems. I go to the doctor with him and he has blood clots to this day. He has his foot amputated. He's going through a lap. He was depressed. First of all, when you are depressed manic, you don't care about nobody. He always used to mention, oh, go ahead and leave a herb so that way I could I could die quick and go back with my dad. I'm going to die soon anyway. He gave his dad co cuz he had co a month before and his dad was telling him to stay away. He still doing too much. He died downstairs. I ain't even >> She's a liar. She's a liar. She's a liar. She's a liar. >> In messages sent from Jason's phone to his sister on the 23rd of November, 2024. The sender states, "I'm single now and she can't take all the stress that's going on in the car and the living situation and having no hot water, so whatever." >> That message is too broken. She was talking about the stress she can't take. She He don't give a about no stress about her. >> That's a female. >> I can't I can't make him care about our safety or moving. It was mold in there. The roof hadn't caved in on us in the bathroom. He's patched it up. It's still leaking while I taking He doesn't care. I killing us in here. The bees, the roaches. I'm like like you don't see my face. I'm looking like I'm deteriorating because it's not it's a health hazard. That thing has to be condemned. The whole building. While Jason's family alleges Veyanita may know more about his death than she's telling officers, Veyanita steers the conversation toward a married ex-girlfriend of Jason's whom she claims broke their car windows. >> I haven't been in front of the station. She's staying here lately. She flattened all the tires, broke the windows. It was for the police said they seen surveillance. It was four people jumped out of a car. They couldn't target the lady because it wasn't her on the camera. So, I was telling him like, "Babe, we need to hurry up and move from here." and he was dealing with two women that's like won't let him go. I have messages >> called us before for issues you have. >> We have me and him have made a police report together. >> Okay. >> It's dangerous. Okay. When your car gets vandalized like that, then she tried to go to his job and run him over. >> What's her name? Do you know? >> Tama at uh >> in messages to Jason's sister, Bayonita claimed he left her for a woman named Stephanie and that she hadn't seen him since. She also said she would file a missing person report, but investigators found no record of one. Jason's family disputes her account. >> This Tama was an OX girl saying she lives way in North Florida somewhere. Has nothing to do with this. But Steph is a girl that is not here. Has no idea. >> You don't play dangerous games like that. >> Especially when you got somebody in. >> She would know those names. >> I'm innocent. I don't know what's going on this time. I'm trying to build a life with this man. and he let his tear down by not being honest. >> See, what I knew it shouldn't make sense cuz he said he'll never go back to any of them. Did I tell you both of them, both of his exes has his husband? >> He's a her boyfriend. So, come on. You're not going back to that. >> As officers work to resolve the discrepancies, a neighbor helps fill in missing pieces in the timeline. >> So, you heard something that sounded like >> sounded like somebody pounding on wood because I guess it was in the apartment that it happened. So, we didn't really hear the gunshot itself, >> but it was like 3:00 or 4 >> that we heard. At 11:30, she comes knocking on my door asking me if I'm okay that I hear gunshots. She's half naked. She had like a little thing pull over, but you can see her boob and her and everything. You see everything. The first thing she asked me if am I snitch >> and which I found that very odd. Like, what am I going to snitch about if I really don't know you guys like that? >> Right. Then she's like, "Oh, Jason beats up on me and Jason is very um >> nasty to me verbally and Jason is always throwing me out and we're always having fights." >> Mhm. >> But that particular morning, I saw Jason walking the dog because I walked my dog. >> She told you that he left. >> Um I thought that I saw Jason jumping into a truck, but I think it was a man that was coming out of here that jumped into a block of >> I thought it was him. >> She didn't do that by herself. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> But I guess it wasn't. >> Okay. So when you when you say why did you think it was him? >> Because nobody else comes out of this house unless >> Bayonita says she never saw Jason enter the truck but takes the neighbor's account as proof that he left her that night. She claims she then gave his dog to the neighbor and left the home. >> When I find he jumped in that truck, I said this is my opportunity to leave. Maybe God is showing me inside the hall. He doesn't leave out the front cuz we have a camera. I haven't been catching him on the camera leaving. >> So he's been leaving in a different way. Yes. So, I don't see him, but I don't know who he's been with, but I don't like any of the women cuz I've been seeing the mess they spread. >> But you guys are broken up. >> Yeah, he he woke up with me to be with her, but he I he forced me to leave. >> The camera was still in the house when you left. >> Yeah, but it's offline. That's why I came outside like, "Oh, I can't see off that quick." >> You read what you she wrote about who he left with and blah blah blah. He left with a black thing. >> A black truck officer and he's in their closet dead. As Bayonita's claims about the cameras waver, a different camera that captured the front of the home that day will determine whether her account holds true. For now, officers piece together Vayonita's movements before and after the shooting. >> Can you explain to me? >> Because this video is long, I'm just take a little another pause. >> Let me say this right here. If somebody talk too damn much, >> Mhm. >> they guilty. >> Mhm. >> She know more than what she saying. >> She trying to create a whole story, alibi, everything. >> Got fake little tears. She >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> You if that was your man >> Mhm. >> you broke over two days ago, you still going to be hysterically and hysterically >> hysterical and crying. >> Girl, she ain't came over there with no tears or nothing. >> Yeah. Go ahead with that, man. >> The condition of the house when we left that day. >> When I came out the day before, like the day before I found out the door unlocked, I had to keep >> Oh, so you you left him? >> Yeah. Cuz I had to go to work. I had to put my uniforms. He put all my [ __ ] right there by the door. So I'm Okay, that's a hint. I'm not going to I'm going to hold let her know second day I got the car. That's when I let her know the second day. Okay. I have the car. Jason ain't been back. So she won't think nothing. Grab the iPhone. So I'm like I have proof to the sister that he can communicate. >> So you you grab his iPhone? >> Yeah. It's not working. But I grabbed the phone so that way she knows what's going on. >> According to Veyanita, she never heard from Jason again after they separated. Detectives would later uncover a $500 zel transfer from Jason to Vayonita and messages sent from his Facebook account not long after his apparent death. >> Yeah. >> For now, officers struggle to get Bayonita into their cruiser. >> And why you need me to finish? >> I I really want to >> right now we're just doing our but as far as being interrogated and and I feel like I am cuz you're not letting me read. >> You're giving Okay, let me explain something. >> I gave you a statement already. Let me explain something to you. You're giving me details. I'm just cleaning up so I understand. I'm not asking you any questions any I'm notating with me right now walk to the car walk to yours like like right now that's not how it works. >> The detective on the case intervenes and officers successfully place Bayonita in their vehicle. During the ride to the station, Bayonita shares more details about her relationship with Jason. >> I feel like you know sometime feel like you get tricked or something like I know you guys going to trick me but I'm not I ain't got hot. I wouldn't be here you know. Yeah, >> I would not be here. And mom, she plays a lot of part in this, too. You see, she really not heartbroken up like that. None of them, not even his son. I'm looking at them through the through the window. They don't even look like they give a And I even text like, "I got a car. Like, you just going to leave?" I said, "So, you going to leave me for real?" I text him the last text and then I text him on Facebook like, "Where are you? Wherever you at? I hope I hope you're being treated right. I hope you're not being lied to." You know, cuz that's what you just get a response out of him. >> Yeah. But he never son has five different person. His son has a psychopanic problem. He stand out told me one day he his mom made him so mad one day he tried to kill his own mother. And you know how scared I was. I told my I told Jason I was like Jason your son tell me some at work bro that he has five different personalities. He got names for each one of them. And he almost he he wanted to plot and kill his mother with his little sister to help him. Like this this is something. And then I have a message from the mother saying that obvious need psychological help. >> During the drive, Bayonita describes another troubled relationship from her past. >> I always get these men like I had a child by sociopath and I didn't even know I went crazy. I went to jail for that cuz I I was I was trying to hurt that man. It's not fair. But oh well. >> I'm still not a bad person for it. I still go to work. I still help the homeless people. Whoever put puts on my heart, I still do. And I don't I just need situation. I'm good of a woman. I can find me another man. I'm very beautiful. So >> nobody stop my show. >> They going to miss me. >> As Veyanita continues sharing her story with the officer, Jason's family is left to deal with the aftermath of his passing. >> Are any of you guys taking in the dog with you? >> I have an appointment to surrender her. >> Oh, Humane Society. >> Yeah. >> While her owner met a tragic fate, his dog, Bella, narrowly escapes one of her own. I can't see her get put to sleep. So, I got a couple of rescues looking for. >> Okay. Cuz um my friends looking for >> I understand. So, this is this is my thing. I'm a dog lover. I will keep the dog. >> But that's again >> you'll keep it. >> Yes. >> Yourself? >> Me, myself, and I >> personally? >> Yes. >> Crying screaming. >> I would love that. >> Bayonita now in an interview chair sheds more light on the tensions in the household before Jason's death. He told me he opened up to me. >> I'll be crying. >> It's okay. [gasps] [laughter] >> Take a big breath. >> He's new to this father. He was like, "I need you." >> And he was going to try to fight me one time cuz I made him get up. Go. I was like, "Hurry up. Hurry. We got to go to work. You got to get up. Go to school. Like just don't drag. Get up." And that's the day he was like, "Uh-uh. You disrespecting my woman now. Too much now. Like too too much." And then that's when he was about to shoot his son and he called you. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> What What kind of guns he >> I don't know. >> Call it black rubber. >> Black rubber. >> Am I saying it right? 91. >> Oh 91. >> Yeah. >> Veanita denies knowing where Jason's phone or gun are. She's allowed to return to her grandfather's home while the investigation continues. >> According to police reports, she never asked her interviewer how Jason died. I know it too. Not going to let me go out like that. >> For real. >> Y real. >> Just remember that you can't go back there right now cuz they're that's a crime scene right now. All right. >> Yeah, but not my not my car. >> You like I said, you cannot go back over. >> Somebody else can go cuz you go back over there. >> Like I said, she >> he said they'll >> they'll get that for you. So you have to wait for them. >> Oh, cuz so Sharon can't go to the front. >> No. >> And how I'm going to go to work the next day if I don't have the car? >> In April 2025, detectives recovered footage from a camera across from Jason's home. >> In the last images of him alive, Jason and Bayonita are seen arriving together before he covers his car and follows her inside. >> Hours later, neighbors reported noises investigators would associate with the shooting. Mhm. >> Despite Bayonita's claim that she left that night, the footage showed her leaving the following morning. >> I don't want my phone sitting in that car. Somebody come out and steal my >> cell phone records placed Jason and Bayonita's phones at his home when neighbors reported the loud noises. Soon afterward, a call was made from Jason's phone to Veyanita's mother. On May 2nd, 2025, more than 5 months after Jason was found, Veyanita was arrested in connection with his murder. Mhm. >> While in custody, detectives monitored her calls and noted her concern about items stored at her grandfather's home. >> Mr. Joseph, >> hello. >> It's over. >> Oh, it's over. >> Hey, Mr. Joseph. >> On May 28th, 2025, detectives located Jason's missing black Ruger 9mm handgun at Bayonita's grandfather's apartment. Police reports state that ballistic evidence from the weapon matched evidence recovered at the murder scene. Following a grand jury indictment on July 17th, Veyanita was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and fraudulent use of the personal identification of a deceased person. She plead not guilty to both charges and the case remains ongoing. >> Get less restricted. >> Man, that's crazy. I was think about she looked different right there. >> Yes. >> Than she look on the picture. Y'all didn't even look like the same person. >> Like the same person, man. I guess the where the camera Let me see. >> Dang. You know that flash make you look lighter, too. >> And then you being in jail, sometimes people lose weight, they get, you know. >> Yeah. Oh my goodness, man. I I I knew she was lying from jail. >> Oh, yeah. When she didn't come over there hysterical. Yeah. >> When she didn't come over there crying. >> If you haven't seen your man, I don't care what how y'all broke up. This man could have beat your behind. >> Yeah. >> If you would have heard about your man. Unless you did it. >> Y >> you would have came over there hysterical, crying, screaming if you have a heart in your body. >> Mhm. >> She did it. >> Yeah, she did. I could just tell. Um I think personally she snapped about something. >> Yeah. >> I don't know if something he did or or he said to her, probably another woman or something like that. She snapped. >> I don't understand. You know, if if if I was to do crime, I would be good at it. >> I'm going tell you why I say I'll be good at it. >> Because I watch these shows. >> Yeah. >> I [laughter] watch how people actions are. I know what to do and not what to say, right? >> Y'all do y'all know not how to act? You got to act cool, >> right? >> You give yourself away just talking. It's They call it a nervous talk. >> You may be nervous. Mh. >> There's a difference between being nervous and just talking. >> You give yourself away, man. Some some of the I I I don't I don't admire nobody who do nothing wrong or no no murder or nothing like that, right? >> But some of those ones, they never talk. >> They they just sit there. >> The cops don't know what they never did. They they just they go by the evidence, but they don't speak. >> Those are the calculated ones. Yeah. >> They know not to show no emotion or no u no nothing. >> Mhm. >> Because y'all talk too much. the way she was going on and they they come up then they get ner see all these stories. Yeah. Cuz so and so and so and so. >> And they always they always got to blame the victim somehow. >> Yes. >> He used to beat me >> for them justifying what they did. It always he did this to me. He did it to me. And got to let the cops know what they did to you. >> You did it. >> Just take accountability for the [ __ ] >> I don't know. I snapped. I killed them. I >> Yeah. Yeah. >> What you want to say? um what they think that saves them is when they tell the truth with their lies. Yep. Dang. I like that. >> Yeah. She So, she would always um go back to, you know, cuz the house was like this and we was like now said, "Baby, we got to get out of here. These are all the things she probably have expressed to him before. We living in this house. It's junky. It's nasty. It's this. It's that." And so those are those are some of the true things. So when you they try to cover up, they're going to deliver some truth >> with their lies. Now the lies are >> what do you do? What did you do? You know, cuz the um the son was saying, which I don't see how he got that from that. >> He said he said the um my daddy ain't like that. Like my daddy I'm like from the house now. I don't know when that was my first thought. I'm sorry. When I first saw the I like what you said your daddy was nothing look a little >> which you know there's you know there's being poor not making um not making any light or making fun of somebody who's poor >> but um the way that she was explaining the household >> doesn't sound like his version >> of the house. Um she was saying it was roaches and the ceiling was falling in. Those are some of her truths that she had probably been expressing to him >> that but he was comfortable where he was living at. >> Um when somebody >> um has gotten to the point like she said he was had a leg amputated, he had bad health. When somebody had gotten to a certain point in life, they don't they don't really care about what's going on around them. They don't really care about the the lifestyle they're living. They don't care about their habits. They don't keep they don't care about keeping themselves up. and they don't worry about what they can't control. That's basically what I'm trying to say. So, she was given all these truths hoping that it would cover up the fact that you took that phone when you said you um the police was like, "Oh, so you took the phone." >> She incriminated herself right then and there like >> and that zale payment. >> Exact. >> Yeah. She going to send a pay. >> Why would you take the money after he's gone you dummy? Yeah. Like all the all of these are things that like what you said an inexperienced person [laughter] would do because they don't realize that police are smarter than you are and they going to figure out all that stuff. >> This dumb man. >> Yeah. If that's the case, she could have went on ahead and and um took Jason's phone and walked. That would have made sense. But she said he hopped in the car with a man and she hadn't seen him since. But you left the cell phone there. >> Come on now. Who do you know in this day and that cuz it's happening in what 2024? Well, it said 2024. Okay. >> Who you know gets in a car, go someplace and leave their phone? No. >> These days and time. >> Yeah. >> Man, I have I have been like catching the bus when I was younger >> and miss my bus cuz I left my phone home. Let me go. Hold on. Lord, I'm about to get >> my phone, man. So, it just it just like she just lying from the get-go, man. Then >> those fake tears give it away, too. like, "Oh, >> you didn't cry at first, but you crying when you It was starting to hit her." >> She was like, "Oh, damn." Like when she heard the mom and the sister crying, >> that's when it started to hit her. >> But then later, she's going to say, "Well, they ain't they ain't even cry. You notice that you crying more about what you been through than you actually killing this man." >> Right. Exactly. >> So, she ain't really care about killing that man. I'm sorry, YouTube. I'm alive in that man. >> Yes. Oh, I'm sorry. >> Yeah, I know. Oh, I didn't say about >> they talk normally, but >> I know, right? >> Yeah. >> Um, >> but what really got me was the when when I heard the girls, the girl said, "A rest arrest him. Rest her." >> Yes. >> That that do something to me, man. Cuz, you know, to hear kids say that. Yeah. >> That that kind of touched me a little bit. Like she said, "A rest arrest her. Why would you do that to my brother?" >> Yeah. And that's what I was saying um about >> the um young girl's accounts. That's why it her story sounds so um like overdramatic. It's it's out of it's not right because a child's brain >> has to put in the pieces that they don't understand. So that's why it sounds like he took a chunk out of you know it sounds like disgusting. I know. But >> our brains when we're young make up stories. And this is why it's always hard. Huh. >> No, I was about to go ahead. Go This is why it's always hard um when a child has seen something traumatic to actually get the real story from them because our brains are programmed to make us feel better. So it'll usually instead of seeing exactly what we saw sometimes we'll make up a story to go along with what we saw so that we will process the trauma differently later. It it seems like a story she was telling as opposed to what she probably or did see. Yeah. >> I don't even know if she saw it, but I'm just saying. >> Yeah, cuz I was saying I was saying in my mind when she was saying I was like the cop said, "Who told you that?" She said, "My family over here." >> And I was like, "It was Did that really happen?" Think [clears throat] >> that's my clothes, y'all. And uh >> I'm like, "Did it really happen? Did they re Did they really allow Did they really tell that to a child?" >> Right. >> That's what I was thinking. >> Uh one of the the first girls she actually saw about it was another No, the boys saw the body. Yeah. >> The son of the >> So why would y'all make that up though? Why would y'all tell her that? >> Yeah. >> Like she didn't ate ate the meat and all that stuff like that. >> Yeah. Yeah. She didn't she made up her own story. That's just how u kids brain work. That's why as soon as something happens >> and kids see something they they try to interrogate them. I mean not interrogate that's the wrong word. They try to interview them quickly before their mind starts to come up with a story. So, I guess the young girl was in the car and she had time to process what was going on and she just filled in the blanks however her brain would. >> All in all, this is a crazy >> story. It is >> um I don't And then she plead not guilty. I This is something that I don't understand about people. I I know who wants to own up to doing something horrific like that, right? But why is it so hard for them to just be real >> to express you did it? >> People do bad things and don't want to talk. >> She I feel like she told on herself a little bit. >> She did. >> She was saying about the personality. I think that was her >> about this personality thing. Yeah. Then she said >> I think that was her not then she said yeah I got in trouble. I hurt that man. >> Mhm. >> That told >> but I'm a good person. I'm a good person. >> Yeah. >> I hurt that man but I'm a good person. Blah blah blah blah blah. But why you just can't tell the truth? Say all right. Yeah. I shot him. >> Yeah, >> I did this and so and so and so you just you going to plead not guilty. Who else going to be there to do it? >> Right. >> You going to It just crazy to me, man. >> Yep. And another reason why we know it had to be somebody who lives in the house. >> Mhm. >> They said the sofa was up against the door. >> Uhhuh. >> Only a person who lives there know we don't use this door, this this closet.
