so just imagine you're online you're searching for young girls you find one that you're interested in you start talking to her you think she's 14 years old really she's me detective elena porras and i'm assigned to the internet crimes against children task force since i came into this unit and i believe it was november i was able to do a search warrant a week in just the cyber tips alone that i was having in this job one image will get you 10 years of a child that's been sexually exploited so in this job i'm dealing with true victims i have a young child who does not deserve to have this done to them they're not asking um for their their videos to be out there of them being abused and sexually molested when they're not asking for that um so in that aspect it's it's a lot more gratifying because i'm actually saving a child if we've identified this child on where this abuse is happening we have icac task force detectives throughout the country i can make a phone call to them and they can go over there and see if they can identify this child and save this child and remove them from that environment and that's what i mean that's the most rewarding part the first thing the parents missing is actually just looking at what their children are doing having access to their phone having their passwords having their pin numbers having their patterns to unlock these phones and seeing what the children are doing they have no idea the platforms that they're using the social media sites that they're on they have no idea tick-tock they don't know what that is they have no idea what their kids are doing so the more involved your parent is on their children's devices whether it's their phones their their laptops their notebooks whatever it is that they're doing just have that access to that if the child gets mad they get mad but it's their children that they're protecting watch your children watch what they're doing be constantly on them i know it's going to be irritating to the child and they're not going to like you but you're responsible for them in the end you
