We're both school principals. >> Well, look, I can still smell it, so you able to do field sobriety exercises for me? >> I'm fine. I don't want to go to jail. >> A traffic stop that should have lasted only minutes became far more serious when Karen turned her job title and desperate pleas into a ticket [music] straight towards severe consequences. >> You're under arrest. >> Go away. >> No, because you you were given an opportunity to go home. >> Jaden. >> Brooke. GET OUT OF THE STOP GRABBING ME. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> NO. OH MY GOD. >> These arrogant Karens believed they were important enough to escape the law, but they risked losing not only their car keys, but their entire future. After being stopped for erratic driving, the woman repeatedly let her friend speak for her, but the smell of alcohol quickly stripped every explanation of its credibility. >> Hey, do you happen to have your driver's license and registration on you? >> I don't have my registration, but I have a copy of it. >> Don't have your license but you have a copy? >> Yeah, I have a copy. >> Okay. All right. Miss Jennifer, you consumed any alcohol today? Cuz I can smell it, which >> Yes, I have. >> Okay. Would you mind stepping back here so I can talk to you? >> I don't know. I'm sure I'm not. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> One woman was handcuffed while the other immediately pleaded to take her place and begged for her career, but the most dangerous decision had yet to come. >> Asking that is because I would like you to perform field sobriety exercises to dispel my concern that you are able to safely operate that vehicle. >> I shouldn't. >> So, I know you've given me an answer, but with me saying that, do you not want to perform field sobriety exercises or do you? Okay, and you understand the recourse from that, what what takes place with it? >> I I I I think so. You can expand on that if you >> I I will. So, what that means is that I'm going to take the information gathered from your driving pattern and and the roadside that I made with you, roadside contact, and make a determination on what I'm going to do next. So, when I ask, that's, you know, when you say you don't want to dispel my concern, that's okay, that's your right, but then I'm telling you I have to take based off what I have and make a determination. Does that make sense? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay. >> Can I speak to you solely without another party or not? >> Well, I was just it was you and me here before she got here. >> Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm asking. >> So, do you want to perform the field sobriety exercises? >> Can I speak to you solely without her? I'm not It's not about >> After After you answer my questions. >> Okay. >> So, do you want to perform the exercises? Okay, and you do understand the adverse consequences. Okay. All right. So, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> You got to go. >> Yeah, yeah. >> Is she yelling at you or something? >> Nah, she's whining. Hey, stay in the car. >> I know. We're good in here. >> Okay, stay in the car. >> We're like 2 seconds from home. >> Okay, cool. >> We're both school principals. We're like, come on. Don't do this to us. >> Do what? I just I'm standing here. >> I know. We're like we're not doing anything wrong. She's taking care of me. >> Okay, I didn't I didn't say y'all did anything wrong. I'm just standing here. >> So, all I did was just tell you not to get out of the car. >> Even after the officers arranged a ride, secured the vehicle, and gave her a chance to go home, she quietly returned hours later and made an unbelievable choice. >> Take me instead. >> Why? There's no There's no reason to take you. >> instead. Yes, please. Can you please take me instead? >> Hey, I'm just going to turn this off right now. >> No. Can you please please? You can call Listen, you can call for Uber or a ride. >> I will. >> Okay, go ahead and work on that. Does your Uber say it's here? What do you want us to do with your vehicle? >> So, where are they in my car? >> So >> You can leave it in Colonia. >> Do you want us to put it over there? >> I can put it over there. You can put it over there, whatever you want. >> No, we can't have you drive over there. That's the thing. So, you want us to go move this in that parking lot right there? >> Yes, please. >> Is that Are you good with that? Like 100% Are you 100% sure that cuz this is your vehicle. I'm not going to do what you want. >> sure you can put it over there. >> Okay. Can you stay out of the road? >> [laughter] >> Here. The The Uber's over here. Do you want to go sit down? I'll bring you your key, okay? What was that, bud? >> She's a school principal, bro. She's a sweet sweetheart, Aries. She's a good person. She's just trying to get me home safely. I understand. I understand. >> to talk about that. We We have a job to do, okay? >> I understand. >> It is what it is for now. Like, this this conversation isn't good for you. If you wanted to talk about this with somebody like when you're a little more sober, like sure, but this isn't a This isn't a good time for you, either, okay? >> I'm not I'm just really worried about my friend. So, she has PTSD. >> okay? >> I I understand. She She might have an attitude. I'm not going to say she didn't. But not relevant, okay? You still willing want do it? >> I I feel way better than it was before when you sent me home. I understand that and I did go home.
