my name is cheryl martin and i am the daughter of lois avis in the early days she had to wear skirts and blouses not pants and high heels it was a man's world the purse has a space for her gun i have her her pins and her badges and this is her badge oh yeah i wouldn't keep that she would have to go out on drug busts and she would be undercover because there were few women at that time in the sheriff's office and so when they needed undercover work and i remember she had wigs and sexy outfits a guy would say is your dad a police officer and i'd say no my mom is and during those times it was it was an unusual comments she was special she helped a lot of women she never had a bad thing to say about anyone she would always put a positive spin on whatever was happening in my life for people around her she would always look at the bright side i'm very proud of her life not just her career but how she treated people
