[Music] hey panel County this is Deputy Chief Matt Hedrick here and I am at the adult detention center with detention officer Patrick Tris and welcome to another episode of behind the [Music] bars all right today we have what we call Ride the Lightning okay and we're going to go over a little video here involving um detention officer Frisbee now it should be made known that number one he is our instructor for the taser so when it comes time to Ride the Lightning they all learn from the Jedi himself all right so we got here the guys the guy swinging let a get a little fight mutual combat right mutual combat oh he goes straight down um now the important thing to remember is is he unconscious no he is not contrary to all movies there is they all make it look like everybody goes unconscious correct I'm going to go back a little bit here though cuz I want to discuss a little bit of something here what happens like when when you decide to get in a fight do you want to be that guy that gets whooped who threw the first punch I would say not okay so this because what I'm saying is my whole thing is is you play stupid game you win stupid prizes then he won a stupid prize very much so chief he earned it like a board he did he earned it so I gave it to him you know I don't short Change anybody here with these tasers when I tase him and he actually turned around on his back he asked me so frisbee it's got to be like that and I said hey yes it does so awesome he earned it so I gave it to him look this is developing Street Credibility in the pot as well when you're in there with these guys they know who you are they know they know what Detention officers play and what and who don't play oh no they do they do the other guy the other combatant what happens with him if he would approach me or approach one of our other staff members I have a second shot available to me in the taser and I would have given him the same treatment that I gave the other inmate I'm protecting myself are our staff members as well as safety of the other inmates as well because another inmate could have attacked him or he could have attacked another inmate and you can see he listened to every verbal command oh yeah he he I looked at him and he he planked out he wanted nothing to do with it we got to love a conditioned response when it comes to riding the lightning I know I've been shot by the taser and that 50,000 goes through you but it's very short lived yeah I mean all our officers have the option to take the voluntary exposure um as an instructor myself I did take the voluntary exposure because I would have no credibility of teaching a class that you know I'm teaching but didn't take the ride so we encourage it but it's not in policy that they have to take the voluntary exposure so he was escorted out and medical did remove the probes and we took it from there all right good to go let me show up another day to go to work we do every day day I love the same way we came in safely this is great this is what I love I love for my officers to make a decision this is what we train them for this is what we want them to do put your job put your application in here at pcso be a part of this family and be supported by us once again thank you for joining us on this episode of behind the bars
