My name is Chris Broadoot. I'm the Atom Region Supervisor for Pomol County Sheriff's uh citizens on patrol based out of the Santan Valley. Uh I've been doing the COP work for a little over four years now. We have a neighborhood neighborhood watch program uh that we if your folks are going to be away from uh your home for any period of time, you we can sign up to have one of our coops or any of our coops come by, check out your house, make sure that it's safe and that it hasn't been broken into or that type of a thing. We handle calls for service from the deputies as far as uh helping out with traffic control for vehicle accidents. Everything from road hazards to sitting on toes, anything that'll help the uh free up deputies. >> Hey man, can you uh sit on this car for a tow? >> Sure, not a problem. >> You going to do a Zebra printer on it or do you need a manual? >> I'll print it out via 35. >> Okay, sounds good. we're in direct connection with our our dispatch office by via radio. Uh if we see something happen and we can pick up the radio and get a deputy responding right away. It also uh lets uh dispatch know where we're at if there's a problem and that we need somebody to respond uh you know to help out with that. It's very fulfilling for me uh to be able to go out and and help the community, help our deputies. Average cop comes from all walks of life. Uh we have some of our people that are uh ex law enforcement, retired law enforcement. We have folks that are retired and just want to be out and and help the community. Age range is pretty much anywhere from mid40s. We have one of our gentlemen in our cop program that just turned 82 years old. The need for coops is is high in our in in our area with the Santan Valley expanding as much as it is. We're always looking to recruit new coops. You can check us out and if that's something you think you might be interested in doing, you can apply and uh go through the process.
