It's definitely helped me a lot in maturing and having that guidance there. It's very fun and it can be difficult. It is fun. We do get to learn about a lot of things and do a lot of in-person things and training. It's pretty cool to learn about all the things that the deputies and stuff do in the field. Recently, we had a family in Casa Grande that ended up having their house burn down. We ended up moving all of that furniture into this family's home. I'm really glad that I was able to help out not only the community but my the Sheriff's Department and the cadet post here. You learn about respect and uh how to treat others and work as a team. They shine their own boots. They press their own clothes and I don't ask them to do it. They're a lot more disciplined and very polite. Yes, sir. No, sir. Yes, ma'am. No, ma'am. My name's Gage Rice. I started here at the cadet program about 14 years of age back in 2014 and I stayed with the program for about 3 years. It's just been a great learning experience overall. It's put me in a great position to start my career. I enlisted into the military and now I'm back. I'm here to hopefully get hired on with the county now. I come to help out any way I can. Any way I can give back to the program that it was able to give me. I I try to do my best to help them out. Check it out. Like, we had something here kid in my life. Do it. You won't regret it. Like, get your children signed up for it. The knowledge that they gain in here is tenfold what they'd learn in an after-school program. It's just a good life experience even even just as little as making friends and giving you something to do and you you learn a lot with not just this industry. It's a good learning experience for for anyone.
