On August 2nd, 2024, officers attempted to stop a vehicle speeding dangerously through city streets. The driver, known to have an outstanding warrant for weapons offenses, ignored multiple commands to pull over and led police on a tense and reckless pursuit. Here are the events that occurred. A subsequent search revealed suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia, leading to multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault on law enforcement. The individual was processed on the outstanding warrant and transported to the county correctional facility.
