from these delusional people who believe that they could occupy any place they want. >> Do you have anything to prove that you do live here? >> Uh, well, honestly, I just moved my selfless. This is my last three days here. >> Georgia, where are you going? You're >> I was leaving. >> You're not free to leave yet. >> Why not? >> Did I tell you that? >> Look, you can't tell me nothing. >> To these sovereign citizens who were convinced that they owned every piece of land that they stand on. >> All right. >> I don't want you in my house. So, cut this. Period. I don't want you in my house. This is not your house. >> I live on the land. I am heir. I am God. I'm I'm a sovereign. >> Here are the times when dumb squatters realize that laws exist for a reason. Starting with Joan Griffin and his family of squatters who could have avoided arrest altogether if they had simply left quietly, but instead let their egos turn a simple removal into a full-blown police incident. This is the actual the guy of the car, the Jeep. He is the actual owner of the property. >> Here's the situation. You are the victim of a fraud and theft. You probably already know that, right? Because that person had no authority to rent this place to you. You guys technically don't have any authority to be here either. On the 4th of December 2024, police responded to a residence after the homeowner reported squatters occupying the property. Ironically, one of the squatters, Joan Griffin, had already called the police earlier that day, claiming that he had been scammed out of thousands of dollars. >> Hello. I'm the one deputy sponsor. I'm the one who called you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Uh, you want to go inside so you don't you don't >> No, we could. >> Okay, cool. All right. >> Okay. So, >> I had two big dogs. I don't want my dog. >> Okay. So, I understand you called 911 earlier and you got a report. >> Yes, sir. >> What did the other officers tell you? Cuz obviously he said like there's a fake landlord. >> Yeah. Yeah, he told me basically we got to wait um for them to go to court or something. That's what coffee say. I got to wait for eviction or something. >> Okay. So, like I said, uh >> so this is the actual the guy in the car, the Jeep. He is the actual owner of the property. >> Okay. >> So, when did you guys move in here? >> We uh we moved in here on like the 27th, but we signed everything and we was in the house on the 23rd. Yeah. But I moved um like around 7 8:00 >> at night or in the morning. >> At night. I told the officer as we did everything. We've been in here. We was in when I signed the papers. We was in the house. We walked through. She gave me all the keys. These all the keys. As I showed him to all the doors, he basically told me this is a basically we got to wait for either the him or we got to go to court. So something like that. He says it's eviction. My land my lawyer said the same thing too. >> Okay. And you guys are you guys are don't want to move out right now? >> No, I don't have nowhere to go. I need my ether I need to find a lady to get my money back. Have you have you called that Jane? >> Yeah, we've been trying I even called her in front of the officer. She's not answering the phone. Can >> I get Do you have your phone on you? >> Yeah. >> Just so I can try calling her. >> Do you ever have the listing of the property? >> Uh the listing? No, I don't have the listing. >> The real homeowner wanted the group removed immediately, but excuse after excuse followed as officers tried to sort out the situation. >> Okay. All right. Can you come out and talk to us then? >> I talked to Coffee. Coffee said, "Uh, well, there's nothing we could do to right now unless they want to evict us or or um he said evict us or help us out with something. It's up to the owner. We got to talk to the owner." Okay. >> He said, "But I talked to my my lawyer. My lawyer said the same thing." So, we was just trying to figure out what was going on. >> Yep. >> Cuz we definitely don't have nowhere to go. Well, I I got stuff in here and I got personal stuff. I don't have nowhere to go tonight. >> Okay. >> Can't leave. >> And I put too much money into it. So, so here's this. You Yeah. You put a lot of money in. Did you got the receipts and everything, too? >> Yeah, my mother got the receipts. Yes, sir. >> Okay. Was she with you when you signed everything? >> No. Hold on. This my brother. Hello. >> Can you make that a quick call so we can keep talking? >> Um, yeah. He put money into this, too. That's my brother. >> Okay. >> So, he he's aware. He got to know what's going on. >> Here's the situation. You are the victim of a fraud and theft. You probably already know that, right? Um, and the person that quote unquote leased you this property had no authority to do so. So, essentially you got scammed. I I hate delivering that news to people, but that's that's the news is you got scammed. Um, did you tell Coffee that you wanted to pursue a criminal complaint? >> Yeah, he got everything. He gave me That's what uh he gave me this. >> Yeah, it's in the it's in the report. >> I told him that I want a fresh charge and everything. He told me to try to get her here and Ned told me if I could get in contact try to get her here for sure and for the meantime until we figure out >> Did you Did you give uh Deputy Coffee a description of what she looked like? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Um I don't suppose you have video like is she in the video? >> No sir. >> No. No pictures of her or nothing like that? >> No sir. >> Any uh any like realtor pictures like oh I'm a realtor like this is who? Like nothing. Okay. just it'd be easier for us to figure out who that is. Um, as far as this house goes, uh, because that person had no authority to rent this place to you, you guys technically don't have any authority to be here either. So, um, it it is considered a trespass because the person because the person that rented it to you had no authority to do so. It'd be like me, Joe Blow, nobody saying, "Oh, yeah. You see that house over there? You're all good, man. go stay in there. Just give me like, you know, a,000 bucks, you know? >> Um, it you have no authority to go into that house, just like technically you have no authority to go into this house. Now, here's the situation. >> I don't want to arrest anybody in this situation because you got conned like somebody conned you out of thousands of dollars, right? But at the same time, he this car over here, >> this this is his property that he's trying to sell. Huh? >> I don't know that. How do I know? I never met the owner and everything. Dad told me he was going to uh call me with >> on the W County tax assessor website. He is the owner of the residence for business >> and I feel bad about the situation. I do. I sympathize with you. Um you you don't have authority to be in this house right now. It is a trespass which I'm I'm trying to avoid doing anything crazy. >> All the keys and I got the paperwork. I got receipts. >> Uh-huh. So, uh I am familiar with the scam. I have taken a number of reports of scams just like this over the years. Maybe this person who isn't a legitimate representative of this house is a real realtor and they can go on the MLS and they can get the codes for uh the key lock and they can get in here, they can change locks and oh look, now I have keys to the place. That's their scam. So uh >> so basically y'all going to tell me I'm out of my money and I I >> No, no, no. I'm not telling you you're out of your money. That is going to be investigated. We have a report for that and we are going to pursue that because that is something that you want to pursue. That is an open investigation. This is an open incident too. But unfortunately, you don't have authority to pursue. >> So, what do I supposed to do? I have stuff up here. I got bed sets and everything up here. >> Can we take a walk through and see? >> My dogs, they aggressive. >> Okay. Can you put them back in the garage like you have back in the garage? >> No, I'm not. >> I'm trying to help you, man. I I am I'm actively trying to help you through this situation here, >> but you got to work with me a little bit. I'm not I'm not throwing you in cuffs and saying, "No, you're going to jail. You're trespassing." Because I understand that you are a victim to a scam. >> It's a lot of money. $6,000. >> A lot of money. >> 6,000. 17K. >> 17K. >> Yeah. I paid 3 months and I paid $1,000. I paid $1,000 for two dogs and then I paid 9,600 for 3 months and I paid first and sec first and last month which was $6,400. >> Yet the biggest question remained. Had Joan truly been scammed or was the story simply a cover for trespassing? >> So with the the Jane person, how do I know that they didn't work for her or >> because their office told you? Their office told you that they never worked for you. She's not answering your calls. This guy has no idea who it is. >> I tried calling her. No answer. >> So So that's like I feel bad telling you, but it it is a scam. And I've seen exact scams like this before. So what I would say is >> I know. So, what I would say is uh either your brother or your mom. Uh um I would recommend maybe staying with them, deflate your air mattress, get whatever uh super valuable belongings that aren't too big together and go crash with them. And then you can work with this guy on getting any bigger items, like if you got a big TV or something like that. >> This guy's willing to work. He He knows you're not a lot of money. He feels bad. But like I said, uh you got to think of the same thing. He's is uh you're a victim of fraud right now. Technically, he's going to be a victim of a criminal trespass cuz he owns a place. >> It's crazy cuz I seen him. He been waving to me. We didn't met the neighbors and everything. Like, it's so weird. >> Yeah. Your neighbors thought you were new people that just >> he rolled past and waved at us and everything. He seen us come in and out. >> You know what? I I don't know anything about that. I'm just telling you where we got to go from here. Okay. So, um would you be able to put the dogs away? Maybe we can help you figure out what what belongings need to come out. >> See where I'm going to be able to take them and where I'm going to go cuz I got to it's it's going to be a >> I I know man, but I'm I'm trying to help everybody out. >> Can I talk to him? Cuz I I can't talk to him or he could come making up a way >> about him. He is uh very upset at the situation right now. Not necessarily at you. He is upset at the situation. He is upset that some con artist broke into his house, changed his locks, and rented you his house. He is upset at that situation. So, I I am wary to let you guys talk right now considering his elevated state. >> You I mean, it won't be elevated with me if he if he's willing. Is >> this your brother? >> No. >> If he's willing to talk and we could do some >> So, so what does that mean? I mean, I we can be your middleman if you want to. Uh >> I want to holl at him or see what we could figure out. >> So So what is it that you want to figure out? What >> um something with tonight because I can't leave like >> So what are you thinking as far as timeline goes? >> Time like he got to give me some time like two or three days or something. He could come talk to me or something. But >> he's he's got listings. He said he has >> he's got somebody coming in tomorrow. >> Well, I could he could try to see we could try to see if I could leave tomorrow or something cuz I know. >> So are you willing are you willing to do that? Is leave tomorrow? I'mma see I can see by chance if I could get everything out. If he if you could get him to come talk to me and we can make up an understanding or anything then we're willing to do anything then yes I will be willing to >> do what I going to we are going to go talk to him and uh and address that and uh see see what he says. Okay. No, I understand, man. Like I said, that's why we're trying so hard to work with you. Despite the circumstances, officers and the homeowner still gave them an opportunity to leave peacefully. But the group remained determined to argue about rights they didn't actually have. >> Oh my god. Cuz it's like I'm getting too many different stories and then I don't I'm not >> You want to come out and talk to I'm willing to hear what you got to say. >> Bro, I can't breathe. Like I'm sick >> my stomach. He's saying that we had to go. I don't have nowhere to go. >> I know. He's saying >> what am I supposed to do? >> So, he's actually offering to pay for your guys' hotel stay, but he wants to take possession of his house back tonight. >> A hotel stay? >> Yeah, he's he's offering to pay for it just so you guys get on your feet for tonight. And then tomorrow? >> Tonight? What am I supposed to do tomorrow? >> I don't know. >> Unfortunately, >> I said I don't know rely on family or friends in the meantime, but he's offering to pay for hotel, which is very nice of him. I can't I can't I can't do a hotel tonight. >> Okay. >> And then I want the dollar. What the >> I I understand, but also there's there's another side to this coin. Yeah, there's another side of this coin where you guys are technically trespassing. >> How long can he um for the hotel stay? Cuz I know for a fact that one night we it's nowhere we going to go. Like we just going to be on the streets after that. >> I I don't know what to tell you, man. I I can't I >> ask can you ask him? >> He can't pay for your hotel. >> He's not going to be able to pay for >> lucky that he's a week of hotel stuff. Like >> is there a way you can you ask him? You say he understands. Can you ask him? Just ask him that. >> I I'll just ask him an open-ended question. Sure. >> So he's willing to cover one night. >> One night? >> Yeah. >> Which which is better? >> He is my mom. >> I mean I mean guys, here's here's the situation. >> Like how would I work? Like how what to do? Hey, hey, partner. >> What do I do? >> One one night in a hotel is better than being booked for one night of criminal trespass. Would you agree? >> Yeah. >> And and animals going to take possession of the dog. So, I said, let's uh let's see. Let's try to avoid that. >> So, so you're if if we can get as much stuff out tonight, uh that would be helpful to the situation and then the bigger stuff, uh we can work with him for you to come back and and get. Okay. >> But how are you going to let me get my stuff? >> So I said so we will negotiate with him just like we're >> so if you when you guys leave tonight uh maybe tomorrow or whatever to get get all the small stuff and then tomorrow uh we'll make an arrangement. It's going to be you him and then us and then maybe maybe but like it's going to be called a standby. So we're going to be here to what we're doing now. I don't know just so nothing goes south. >> What if what if she does work for this company? What if we >> I don't know. I don't know. I don't know that. I don't know that. I rather have some type of legal represent representation now. I don't I can't I lost a lot of money. Sir and we do the holidays. You don't understand. Okay. For one night, it won't be crunch. It's not going to make a difference. >> So, a decision has to be made. Are you guys should I have contacted like some legal representation or something? I can't. >> Okay. So like I said just so grab grab everything you can and then uh if you have big TVs that you car so everything you can grab put in your car and then like I said the big stuff leave it here and then tomorrow you can come back in that crime >> so that way you guys can get your money back. That's what they're there to do. >> Would you be willing to just leave it because you guys filed that report earlier? You already got to have valuable stuff like my I'mma need myself. I could leave my dogs here. >> Then I would I would get your brother or your mom. >> No, you would just you would call I can't leave. What's your first name? >> I can't leave. We're trying to think outside the box that you're not put in more difficult situation. >> When you were Can you call your brother and say get the rest of your life? You would just call your brother. He's on his way here. >> Yeah, he said unfortunate. I just get in the car and >> your brother's a car. You have a car. So that should be enough for all your valuables and then you guys can set something up tomorrow for your TVs and all the big stuff. >> You're going to have to stay with family. I mean, unfortunately, I don't need to stay. >> I'm going to try to put stuff in the car now. >> We're going to need to keep the door so we have access to it. Okay. >> Okay. I'll leave the door. I'll leave this front door. >> Yeah, leave the front door. Change this location to >> Do you guys want to just >> Hold on. I don't want the dog. The dog. >> Yeah, I know. I'm not letting Dude, I don't want to get bit either. But I don't want you locking it either. You know what I'm saying? >> I'm just close the door. Just close. >> Okay. >> Can you leave that door open? >> Leave that door open. >> Okay, no problem. >> Okay, let go of the door. I'm not open. I'm not going to let a dog come out, but I don't want to get locked out either. >> Once the door closed, the entire situation escalated, confirming the officer's concerns from the very start. >> Nope. You got to stop. Stop. Stop. Stop now. >> Move it down. >> Stop closing this door. >> Yeah. Stop closing the door. >> Okay. All right. >> Okay. So then move your foot. >> I can't move it. >> Move your foot. >> I can't move. The door is >> Okay, guys. >> I can't move it. >> My foot though. >> Okay. >> 180. Huh? >> We don't give y'all the right to come in here. >> You don't have the right to be in there either. >> I put money into this house. >> Okay. And you got >> to like ain't nothing else to talk about. We see y at court. >> There is. Hey guys, >> there's nothing to talk about. We will see y'all at court tomorrow. We don't have nowhere to go. You have to evict us. Come down to him. You have to take us to court. Come back tomorrow. >> I can't leave tonight. He can come back in the morning. treat. >> So, how can y'all do like my dog? LET ME GET MY DOG. LET ME GET MY DOG. GET MY DOG. Let me get MY DOG. >> LET ME LET ME GO. LET ME GET MY DOG. Let me go. Hey, that's the same. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> I'm not doing that. >> Hey, help help. >> What are you doing? >> Why you doing this? Now you're going to be >> DOING AROUND. >> Because for our safety, for your safety. >> I can't move. I'm stuck. >> You're not stuck. >> Calm down. CALM DOWN. I KNOW WHERE to go. >> Hang on. There might be >> over here. >> You're preventing us from coming in the house. >> I'm talking to you. >> Hey, this is the same guy who's at the house. >> What? >> I'm not being hostile. You don't got to wind me up like that. I'm a grown ass. You know I'm not being hostile. So why do you keep moving? That's why they handcuff me cuz you know I ain't [ __ ] Bro, ain't you talking about another house? You never seen me a day in your life, studying. We going to see about this. We going to be in court tomorrow. That's all. >> Y'all throwing us out in the middle of the cold too, right? >> Yeah. No weapon. >> I have a weapon. Did it feel like I have a weapon on me? calm down. >> I just don't want to say >> calm down. Please, you good. >> I just wanted to make sure I was trying to no argue with y'all. Hostile, no disrespect, none of that. I was just trying to make sure like he said he was going to get the hotel. We don't have nowhere to go. Honest, you feel me? That's why if you if you can understand that >> that's why all the kids won't close that door. >> You don't remember us at University Park? >> No. >> No. You don't remember. there for 3 hours. >> No. No. You want Do you want my name? You want my name? Lazel George. That's my name. >> My That's the case. >> Did I resist your arrest? >> I'll discuss that with >> Did I Did that is your arrest. >> Maybe you're right. Maybe you're right. >> I got We'll talk We'll talk and then we'll get back to you. >> Okay. He's good. He I have his phone. >> Let's just empty his phone. >> I didn't do I didn't do nothing at all. Pass the pat down. You know, I want no disrespect. Can you please just listen to me? >> All right. >> Please just uh Yeah, just sit down. Face normal right here. >> You going put Come on, Officer. Please. >> I'm a little I'm not going to do nothing. You ain't got to put me in handcuffs. I just need to sit like this till we pull off. >> Yeah. I'm going to I'm going to buff you and you can sit sideways. >> In the end, Joan Griffin is charged with criminal trespass to residents and resisting a police officer. The two other people in the house, Venus Jordan and Leonard Jordan, are both charged with criminal trespass to residents and obstructing a police officer. All three were later released on a notice to appear. That same sense of entitlement carried into the next incident where a squatter's refusal to leave escalated to officers breaking in to carry out the arrest. >> You know, you're not supposed to be in this building. >> I called it uptown and they said, "Give me two weeks cuz I I was getting the the pony fix and I'm getting ready to give him a cashier's check. If you don't want it, that's fine. Me, too." Open the door. >> Am I under arrest? >> Open the door. >> Calling attorney right now. >> Open the door. >> Am I under arrest? >> On the 1st of December 2025, officers responded to a call regarding a woman reportedly squatting inside a prohibited property. According to her, she had been staying there for months and claimed that she had been paying rent. But that story quickly began to fall apart once officers spoke directly with the property owner and clarified the legal status of the residents. >> I'm not taking this one. I'm just going to assist the people who are. They're on their way right now. So, what's going on? >> Well, you know, I own the house behind me. Mother's >> um and this Tara >> Terra. Yep. We know who she is. >> Um she gave and I didn't know who she was. She gave me I came to my door. I'm get moved out of this other place. Well, rightfully. So, >> okay. Um, >> can you get your hand out of your pocket? >> Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, you're good. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> or if I if do you care if I search them real quick? Make sure you ain't got nothing and then you can put them in. >> Yeah, I got my hand. >> Okay. I just want to make sure you don't have nothing. You can I want So that way you can put your hands in the courthouse. >> Yep. You're good. You I know it's cold out here. You can put your hands in your pockets now or in your jacket pockets if you don't mind. Um anyway, um so they have been squatting in there >> for 4 months. >> Okay. >> No water >> the whole time. No water the whole time. >> Yeah, I know. I I ended up I was the one who called in about the no water. >> Oh, okay. >> Cuz so >> well and and see they um you know they always keep on giving me a song and a dance. >> All right. You want those people out of the house back there? >> Yeah. Just a little bit of history. >> They've been there for months. >> Well, we know they know they've been flipping it over. >> They really are moved in a lot of >> Yes. >> Well, they told us >> they told us you're >> they were paying you like $400 a month to stay here the whole time. 480 hours. >> Even after being informed that she had no legal right to occupy the property, the woman refused to accept the situation, choosing instead to argue her position. >> Is he? >> Oh, >> yes. >> Hello. Yes. >> Hi, Dave. Hi, Daddy. Come over there to your house, too. >> Yep. You know, you're not supposed to be in this building. >> I called up town and they said, "Give me two weeks cuz I was getting the the pony fix." And I'm getting ready to give him a cashier's check. If you don't want it, that's fine. Me, too. >> A cashier's check. I just told Miss Roach yesterday. That's up to you. >> Okay. >> For this house, you said you want to sell. Do you still want to sell or not? >> Okay. Hey, what's your name? >> Spell your last name. >> S A H E R R. >> Can we come in? No, you cannot come to the house. >> Okay. Is there anybody else inside? >> No, there's nobody in this house right now. And I'm not in a very good mood. >> Okay. Well, hey, you're not going to go back in there. What's your name? >> The lady up the up at the up there cuz she said she's going to give me two weeks and then we're going to come back. The lady up at the >> What's your name? >> Tim is who I talked to. This gentleman. >> I got a card. >> I need you to spell your last name. >> You don't know how to spell your rod? >> No. Spell it. >> Why do you need my name? >> You're in a >> You're in a prohibited building. >> It doesn't have water. This can't have water in about an hour because it's been fixed. >> Who fixed it? >> I had a guy fixed it. It's legal. >> So, this has been prohibited for over a month. >> I was in the hospital. Did you not just hear me? I just >> You weren't We literally saw you outside of here last week. >> Spell your last name. Spell your last name. >> Well, I might have been here twice. >> Spell your last name. >> Spell your last name. >> S E R T. Look it out. Excuse me. Okay, >> she's a key. >> You don't have a key? >> Oh, you got my key. calling my attorney right at this moment. >> Open the door. >> Am I under arrest? >> Open the door. >> I'm calling the attorney right now. >> Open the door. >> Am I under arrest? >> Open the door. >> Am I under arrest? >> If you don't tell me your name, that's obstructing identification. And you're going to be under arrest. Open the door. >> My name's It's prohibited. Go. >> Can I kick it in? >> Yeah. AM I UNDER ARREST ON MY TRAIN? >> YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why am I under arrest? >> Obstructing identification. >> It's just me in here and my dog and you are and I got cancer. Okay. Look. >> What are you doing? This is the top FLOOR CUZ MY HAND YOUR HAND. MY HAND. >> My hands are under my back. I got you on video right now, so it doesn't matter to me. >> Okay. Okay. You are >> Give me your hand. I need your hands and I'm asking for your hand. NO. >> GET OFF OF ME. >> OKAY. YOU ARE OH. OH. OH. Hell no. >> GIVE ME YOUR HAND. >> GET YOUR BACK OFF ME. I GOT THIRD DAY BUMPER. You don't b me right now. I am not rejecting the rest. You idiot. >> I'm holding to my attorney cuz you didn't have no reason to do that. None. That's uncomfortable. >> I want that book right there. I'm going to call. I want my book. Can you give me my book? >> I want my phone. You can continue right now, but I feel underwear. >> I'm under arrest for what? >> Her behavior remains entitled and dismissive, even as officers assessed the condition of the room. The state of the property only reinforced what the investigation was already revealing, leaving little doubt about how long the situation had been ongoing. >> Okay, I got you guys are so >> I did not resist nothing. I shut the door to get the paper call my journey. You put your leg what's your what's your >> what? Huh? What's your badge? >> My badge number is 195. My name's Officer Padet. >> Okay, that's good. >> It is. >> Breathe. You're doing all right. >> Yeah. Sorry. Just running down my face. >> Is he in there? Did you guys already clear this side? >> Oh, not over there. >> Marian Police Department, if you're inside, make yourself known. >> Okay, I don't see why he put there's a door right there. Var, please. Anybody's out here making known. >> They know I have her 1095. I've said it, but I'm not. They didn't respond. Huh? That's her name. She was given to you. >> Yep. >> Yeah, it says um >> she uh >> No, no, no. I just didn't know if they had heard me and dispatch that I have her microphone. >> In the end, the woman was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing identification, as well as criminal trespass. Unlike the last case where the squatters tried hiding behind excuses and fake claims of tenency, this time it was Georgia who went from claiming her home as hers to throwing a full-blown tantrum when officers moved in to evict her. >> What's in your hand? >> My torch and my body. >> Take a seat. >> I can't even get my >> Take a seat. I'MMA SIT RIGHT HERE. >> OKAY, SIT. The >> the hell? On the 28th of August 2025, dispatch received an anonymous tip reporting that a woman had unlawfully moved into a residence and had been squatting there for an extended period of time. When officers arrived to investigate, they were met at the property by the woman herself, whose behavior immediately suggested that she was trying to conceal more than she was willing to admit. >> What are you backing your hand? >> No, it's I mean I'm at home, so I ain't did nothing illegal. >> Nobody's saying that. >> Show me your hand. You can't keep >> show me your hand. >> What's in your hand? >> My torch and my bottle. >> Your bottle? >> Yes, sir. >> Who lives here? >> I do. >> Okay. What What is the reason for all this? >> So, somebody's calling in saying that people who don't live here are staying here. >> Oh, well, that's not true. >> Okay. Do you have anything to prove that you do live here? Uh, well, honestly, I just moved myself. This is my last three days here. I'm moving out of here, actually. >> Mhm. >> So, honestly, you take I'm in the process of moving out of here. That's what I'm doing. I'm doing my stuff. >> What's your name, ma'am? >> Uh, that's that's not That's >> Why do you need my name? >> Because you're possibly in somebody's house without permission. >> Well, that being said, I'm not I'm moving my thing. Do you have permission to be here? >> Yes, sir. >> Cuz we're going to figure it out. >> Okay. Just step out here, Georgia. >> What' you ask? >> I said I was going to get my I was leaving anyway. >> Go ahead. Go ahead. >> I'm leaving anyway. >> I'm leaving anyway. I'm leaving anyway. >> As the investigation continued, it became clear that this was no longer a simple trespass complaint. Officers soon realized that she wasn't alone inside the residence. Though it remained uncertain at first whether the other individual was involved in the same circumstances or had any connection to the situation at all. >> What's your name, ma'am? >> What's your name, ma'am? >> I just told you my name. >> Say it again. >> Georgia. >> Georgia. What? >> Georgia. What's your birthday? >> Don't worry. I'm leaving now. >> Yeah. Yeah. We're past that. We're past that. >> Okay. But I know I know who name it is. >> Just hang on for a minute. We'll get you out of here. Okay. >> Yeah. >> The man present was quickly cleared after officers determined that he had no involvement in the unlawful occupation. However, when it came to the woman, attempts to confirm her identity became increasingly difficult, raising concerns that she was deliberately avoiding disclosure for reasons that were not immediately clear. >> Why? Why you lying to my man? >> I wouldn't I wouldn't listen. George William came out. My name You know my name. >> I know. >> But I have my five notice in my hand and I have the keys to the house. >> I don't have a reason to lie. I'm not trespassing. >> You just said that. I'm not trespassing at all. Oh my >> that part. >> Go ahead. >> Go ahead. >> Clear. No record. >> That part. >> All right. We're just going to go hand cuts here and say, "What's your real name?" Oh, he know my name. >> Hey, [ __ ] it. Sorry. I've been up 104. Thank you. >> I apologize for that. >> My mama just passed. >> What is your first light? >> My name is Georgia. >> No, please don't. Can I just sit on the steps for a second? >> No, you can walk down to the car. >> Hold on. Stop yelling at me. Sorry. >> I'm going to play this bull game. >> Do anything. >> What is What is it? What is my ward for? >> Huh? >> Where? >> Larsson. >> I didn't set nothing on fire. Mar, hold on. I ain't never seen you in your purse cuz we're going to check it. So, let's be real. >> Okay. I didn't Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. You can take it. I got What do you got? >> I'm trying to tell you. Take it. >> Okay. What? >> Hey, hold on. I got Wait. Why you going to choke me? I have a pipe in my purse. >> Mhm. What else? >> I got a pipe. I'm telling you, I got a pipe in my purse. >> Okay, relax. >> What? What? Washing in. >> I ain't know what's >> stole something. Shoplifting. >> Stealing probably from Dollar General. Man, I ain't been a doctor damn near in 6 months. >> Yeah, well, last time you were there, you stole. >> I ain't steal nothing. >> Remember you and >> Hey, who? >> Georgia. >> Georgia, >> listen. Listen, >> Georgia, look at me. Yes, sir. >> I'm going to take this handcuff off and we're going to Hey, and we're going to take this bag off. Okay, sir. >> And then you're going to put your hand behind your back and you're going to go back into a handcuff. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> What am I going to jail for? Just the warrant. >> What did I do? Wait. Take it off. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. No, I got my charger around my neck. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Would you get peing my phone? >> Yeah, we got you. >> Thank you. Here. Here. Hold on. Hold on. Here. I'm not running. I'm not running. Here you go. >> Back behind your back. Back behind your back. Back behind your back. >> Get the keys. >> Back behind your back. >> Get the key and put it in my purse. >> Back behind your back. >> What the You go to jail for, man. Ouch. The sheriff been over here. >> Where's your car? >> This you. >> This is crazy. >> Georgia, listen to me. Do you have anything on you? >> There's nothing on me. >> Cuz you know if you go there, it's just going to be another charge. >> There's nothing on me. >> Okay. In the end, Georgia was arrested on an outstanding warrant. While Georgia attempted to dodge accountability by hiding who she was, this next couple had no problem making themselves comfortable inside a home they did not own. Allegedly leaving significant damage behind in the process. >> You guys aren't supposed to be here. >> He just left and we were just left. >> No, he's still here. All right. You both are under arrest for burglary. >> Burglary? >> What? >> Oh, hell no. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. On the 26th of March 2025, police officers were dispatched to a residence after a landlord reported that two individuals were unlawfully occupying his property without paying rent. When officers arrived, they first spoke with a visibly frustrated landlord, explaining that this wasn't an isolated issue, but part of a recurring problem that he had been trying to deal with for some time. >> This is the landlord. >> I'm just saw it. >> Oh, there's actually people up there. >> No, thank you. He lives far out of town. >> It was locked. It was everything I could do to get up there before I got my knee and my ankle spoken out. >> So, it's upstairs. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I just seen 506. Seriously. >> But there is someone supposed to be living in there. No. >> Okay. No. >> No. And they they had to have broke in because the door was locked. And uh I went up there and like I said, it was all I could do to get up there. But I got up there and checked the door was locked. I said, "There's somebody in here." And uh I didn't have a key with me. Well, I went up there or I came in here and found him. Uh my brother called me and >> he's my landlord. His brother. >> Yeah. Keith Keith here had seen him. >> Where? >> I don't know. Um that's Larry's brother. But he had seen him. He was here when I was here. And I told her, I said, "You've got to leave." I said, "You can't go in on someone's property and just move in. >> It's called squatting, you know." And she said, "Okay, I'll get out there." >> So, >> I drove back. I live on the other side of London, Derek. And I was almost home. My wife called me and said that uh Shay had called my brother and my brother had called her and said that uh how you doing? >> Good. How are you? and said that uh they're still up there and they were cooking something and I thought >> well she's selling something out here cuz she's got people pacing. I took video of that when I seen her looking down the window. >> Robert stuff, you know. I don't know what it is. >> All right. >> But she tried every way. She's good to stay and I said, "No, you got to go." >> Do you have a key with you or no? >> No, I don't. >> Because she has a door locked. She wants to go in. >> Yes. Crazy. >> I'll give the guy. >> Yeah, their health. >> Their health. >> They're not supposed to be here. >> Nope. No one's supposed to be here. >> When officers made contact with the couple inside the home, they immediately denied living there despite all signs pointing to the opposite. >> Police department. I got weasels. >> You told us that you were going to show up. >> You guys aren't supposed to be here. >> He just left. We were just left. >> No, he's still here. >> He's still here. >> No one's supposed to be living here. >> No, he knows. He knows that we're not here. >> Arguments are coming out >> willingly. >> I just talked to him. I'm waiting on my uncle to get here to take the couch out. I just brought my stuff out on the porch. >> All right, cool. Go down. Let me clear the house. Yeah, I'm good. >> Yeah, he was twisting my downstairs. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Thank you. >> Sean, are you SH or SE? >> Sh. >> What's your last name, Sean? >> What's your step? >> I was just waiting for the couch to get moved out. You told me that everything got >> What's up with all that all those foils and stuff up here? >> I don't know stuff. I was here trying to She was talking about rent a place. I'm here trying to rent a place. Bro, >> I can't do it by myself. >> Yeah, that's what I'm >> You just got here right before. >> Is she here already to get your info? >> Yeah, >> literally. >> I can't. >> Hey, I'm going to go and buy you guys the right You have the right to remain silent. Your body came. >> Yep. >> You have the right to remain position from both you. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be cons. You have the right to talk to an attorney. Have him or present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot report to hire an attorney, won't be appointed to represent you at any time. time you exercise your rights, not answer any questions or make any statements. You understand why it's applied to us? >> All right. >> So, with your rights in mind, do you want to talk to me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> Can we speak with you? >> Yeah. >> So, what's your story? >> Uh, I come here talking about wanting to rent a place. She knows a guy downstairs and they told me that they bought the place. They >> I lied. I lied to him. >> I told him that I found the door open. >> How do we open? I I was brought here by a friend and the girl that was staying there said that for half stay up there. >> That wasn't the question. How did you get sir? >> I'm sorry. >> So, how'd the door get open? >> That was a lie. I didn't find the door. It was a friend that brought us. >> Yeah, but how does who opened it? >> I have no idea. >> Somebody lived here. >> There was someone living here that said that we could stay here and all that. That's no lie. >> That really is no lie. But they I'm not sure, man. >> But like I said, I went and got that's why I got a check now. I thought if they was renting the place out. He told me that if we wanted to stay up there, get the rent money, we can stay up there. I said, "Okay." >> So, you have rent money with you? >> Yes. >> Is that what that check is? >> Yes, ma'am. >> This doesn't even belong to you. This belongs to this. >> I know that the class act school calls I'm talking that was wrote to me for March's rent. I'm holding on to that. >> That's fine. >> As it turned out, this wasn't the first time the property had been occupied without permission. The landlord made it clear that he was no longer willing to tolerate it, pushing for a firm resolution this time around. >> And I've dealt with this. This is the third time I've had someone try to come in and squat. By the time I got here, they've broken out every window. The door was torn off the hinges, and they went in and they arrested all of them. which and in the process of that they had destroyed the whole building, the whole upper section in the front. Then the same gentleman, Mr. Kenman, came in and went in and kicked out the client that was in the back. >> Yeah, I remember that. >> All right. So, let's focus on today. >> We're on this. >> All right. So, yeah, let's focus on today. So, you do one for two charges. >> Good. >> All right. All right. You both are under arrest for burglary. >> Burglary? >> What? Oh, hell no. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. >> You got to listen to this. >> Put your hands on your back right now. Sir, >> will you come down? >> You are making a huge mistake. My god. What the hell? >> What about the guy that let us in there? >> No. Where's Cheyenne at? Get over here. >> Listen, do not fight the police. >> I didn't I don't deserve this. >> I don't neither. I don't know why. >> Don't even move around. That's not a >> That's right. >> I'm stealing. >> Can I say something about the guy that let us in the apartment? >> Yeah. Can you guys get him out here? This is >> This is wild right here. >> He doesn't have anything to say. He's >> Yes, ma'am. But this guy let us in there. >> That's not his apartment. >> Go ahead and drop that, buddy. Go ahead and drop your vape. >> Zone, not upstairs. >> Okay. What about the lady that let us in that apartment? Cheyenne that said the place was >> Cheyenne. The red hair girl. >> No, Cheyenne. >> All right. >> They said they paid for this. Can I get my stuff? >> Yeah, I'll get it. Yeah, we got to go through it anyway. Is there anything in there? >> Wow. So, incident incident to arrest. I got to go through all your bags. >> My check, my the rent money I had and everything. >> Yeah. Incident to arrest. I got to go through your bags. Is there anything in there? >> I'd rather you just tell me now, bro. >> There's nothing in there. >> Okay. >> Um, can I uh I want to speak with um somebody real quick, too. Give you guys my uh social and stuff. I didn't take my social. >> Yeah. Well, she's got enough to go ahead and arrest you. I can figure out your social. >> But can I say something about >> I'm listening to me in there. You guys just left and they just took me in there. I don't even know them people. >> You don't even know the girl. >> No. >> Who's the girl? >> I'm trying to rent the place. That's I know the girl. Yeah, but that I'm trying to rent the place. >> Okay. You want to rent up there? >> I know that. I already know that. >> You don't want to rent that. >> I already know that. >> The couple continued insisting that they hadn't broken in or unlawfully entered. But the woman struggled to provide any credible support for that claim, especially when asked basic questions about how they came to be living there in the first place. We did not break in. >> You guys don't know who that person is. >> Yeah, I do. >> You just told me you didn't know who it was. >> Oh, I know who it is. >> Well, then who is it? >> Cheyenne. >> That doesn't help me much. >> You know who Cheyenne is. I'm not taking I'm not No, I'm not doing this. >> I don't know who >> there's a thousand Cheyans in Chocoli >> with red hair. >> Maybe there's five. I don't know. What's her last name? Um, >> yeah, that's who I that's that's my boyfriend. He brought me here saying that she was going to let us spend the night. >> So, he knows her. >> Yeah, >> she told him. How'd she tell him? >> Yeah. How did she How did she tell him? She was just here right moments before you guys before he showed up. >> So, she told him in person he can go in here. >> Yeah. >> Or she text him or call him or >> I don't know. She might have been having with him. I don't know. >> That's your man? >> Yeah. I'm actually in the process of leaving you cuz he's a loser. Hey, can I speak to you? >> This guy is trying to Hey, >> what? >> I think I just went in upstairs, right? >> Yeah. >> And I got a thing to for rent and everything. He's trying to charge burglary. >> Will you please be speaking with me? >> I got I give him my social and everything. >> Listen. Listen. >> Hey, the female that's arresting you, placing you under arrest as a sergeant. Okay. She's a supervisor, so she's well aware of what she's doing. Okay? So, we're going to move forward here and then we can talk about it in a little bit. All right. >> Hey, let's go over here. Just get out of traffic. >> For now, you need to have >> I don't want to I don't want to though. You guys are going against my right. You come on private property. That's private property. >> Stop. You are under you are under arrest. We haven't called for this. Okay. >> I know. But you guys other than that, we're going to stop our conversation. We can speak to the supervisor in just a minute. Okay. >> Let's have a seat for me. Okay. >> All right. >> Hey, can I ask you a question? >> Hey, please. I'm going get I'm going to get the supervisor over here in just a minute. Hang on. >> What's your What's your social? >> So, what's Cheyenne have to do with all this? She's the one that let us stay here. >> I'm saying what she had to do with the place. >> The dude downstairs. >> So, no one's supposed to be in the top apartment at all. Right. >> The dude downstairs told her she can stay upstairs. >> We come here. The landlord says no one's supposed to be in renting that apartment. We go in her and Sha Lines are inside. Now, their story is Cheyenne was the one actually in there who let them in. >> But bring right here. She'll tell you. >> I don't know where she is. >> What apartment does the guy >> The only truth we have is what we actually saw. It's the front door. >> The one >> is as it is. >> The man, meanwhile, reacted with visible offense to the officer's questioning despite the fact that he was found inside a property he had no legal right to occupy, making his reaction stand in direct contrast to the situation evolving around him. >> This is what's really upsetting me, man, about this whole situation. Man, >> he he caught him in there knowingly didn't didn't call us and then gave him a chance to leave. >> I'll I'll take care of the report and stuff. really want the arrest, but >> I'll take him. >> You can just transport him. >> Yeah, I'll transport him. I'll go ahead and go. >> Why are they all still out, man? I can't breathe. I can't breathe, man. Like, I don't know what the they're wanting from me, dude. Like, what did I do? Honestly, I don't understand this stuff. I guarantee there's going to be confetti and dope in here. >> I am. >> Yeah. >> Hey, can I um >> How the hell did you get your cuffs in front of you? Did Is that where I put them? >> Yeah. >> No. >> Hey, um can I ask you a question, though? >> Look, bro, I put those behind you for a reason. I have a policy that says there's got to be >> a breathing thing on my with my chest. For real. >> Okay. Well, I have a policy that says I can be fired for you having them in front of you. >> I'm sorry. I didn't know, bro. I apologize. I really need to know that. >> Okay. >> Hey, um >> what's in your backpacks? >> There's nothing. >> I got to go through them. I'm going through. >> Are they really hitting us with >> You're going to get a criminal trespass. >> Okay. Thank you. >> I'll get out in the morning then, right? >> Well, yeah. There's nothing else in your bags. >> Uh >> I'd rather if you don't tell me the only things in there is um >> I really don't care about a little bit of paraphernia. >> There's if there's paraphernalia, I don't even think that. In the end, the couple was charged with criminal trespass. Just like the squatter before him, who insisted they had rights to someone else's property, Maris took that mindset to an entirely different level. A self-proclaimed sovereign citizen who acted as though he was untouchable after attempting to take over a million dollar mansion. >> Like, appreciate y'all just get off the yard. >> That's not going to happen until you until you prove that this is your place cuz we've been dealing with this. You should just stay right there. >> No, no, hold on. Hold on. No, no. On the 3rd of July 2024, officers were dispatched to a foreclosed mansion after reports of a squatter refusing to leave the property. From the moment police arrived, the man challenged their presence outright, carrying himself as though he was the rightful owner, despite the foreclosure records already telling a very different story. Hey, how are you? >> I'm good. How are you? >> Good. Homedale police. >> How you doing, sir? >> Good. Did you buy this? >> We had it as an abandoned property, so I just saw the car. I just wanted to check on everything. >> Yeah, everything is fine. How did you even get in here? >> Huh? How did you even get in there? >> Oh, the fence. >> Okay. >> I'm Chris. >> How you doing? Hey, >> Messiah. >> Messiah. Pleasure. >> All right. >> Uh, when did you guys buy the property? >> I have the paperwork and everything. But how did you even get off my property? I'm trying to figure that out. >> Y'all jump the fence. >> What? No. It's right over there. >> We have We have the combinations for all the to all the lock. >> Yes. I have all my paperwork. So, >> I would like appreciate if y'all just get off the yard. That's not going to happen until you until you prove that this is your place cuz we've been dealing with this >> and you keep coming back here. So, you already know what's going to happen. >> Yo, you guys are really crazy. >> Why? >> Like, what are you doing here? >> Huh? >> What are you doing? >> I just told you. Like I said, >> you even get here. >> We have We have Can you >> turn your body camera on, please? >> No, absolutely not. So, it's going to stay on. >> You said no. >> Yeah. >> All right. Give me a second just to protect >> Oh, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Oh, yeah. No, no, it's It is on. I thought you meant turn it off. >> Oh, no. Oh, I said turn it on. >> Oh, no. It's definitely on. >> Okay, here you go. >> You should just stay right there. >> No, no. Hold on. Hold on. Nope. Nope. Hey. >> Stop. >> Stop. Hold on. Open the door. Just lock yourself now. >> Listen, we're either going to have a conversation or you're going to jail. >> Open the door. >> I'm trying to speak to you. I don't want you in my house. >> So, cut this. Period. I don't want you in my house. >> This is not your house. >> It is. I got the paperwork for this house. >> It's not. >> And this is, >> sir. We've been through this before. >> Did you cut the locks and change them again? >> No, I did not. >> Cuz that's what you did last time. >> I did not. >> Okay. >> I have keys, sir. keys to this house, sir. >> What's your first name? Is it Martin? >> Messiah, sir. >> All right. Knock. I don't want I want your government name. >> Messiah, sir. Messiah. Messiah. And please stop asking me stupid questions, sir. >> I'm not asking you stupid questions. And if you close the door on me one more time, I'm coming in. You're going on the ground. >> Although he repeatedly insisted the mansion belonged to him, he could not provide officers with any legitimate documentation of proof or ownership. And as questioning continued, the situation only became more bizarre with his claims growing harder and harder to take seriously. >> What is your real name? >> You want that? >> No, that's a madeup name. >> Do you want that? >> I want your ID. How about that? >> Here you go, sir. >> No, I want your driver's license. >> This is my ID. >> I want your driver's license. >> And if you know anything about trust, I'm fed federally protected under trust. We're going to play these games, but you already know what the end result's going to be. You already got kicked out of here once. You already got arrested once, and you keep coming back. >> Got arrested. Yeah. >> Sorry. Okay. >> This is my property. >> Yeah. Okay. What'd you pay? $3 for it. >> The same thing your parents paid. >> Yeah. Okay. >> You see juice in here? You see a blow in? >> But that doesn't mean everything. >> That means That means that you think you live here. >> I live here. I live here. >> Cuz you got apple juice on the counter. >> I live here. Okay. >> I live here. >> All right. You're a liar cuz I check on this house all the time. >> No, you don't. >> Yeah, I do. >> And I have a UTC war. >> You will be served. >> Listen >> for playing color of code. >> I don't even know what that means. >> Okay. Just know what that is. Just know what that is. >> That doesn't mean anything to me. >> Let's know what that is. >> It means nothing to me. >> I'm federally protected. I trust. Okay. >> If you prove to me that you own this house. >> Prove to me you own this house. >> Take me to court. If you ain't got that's what you're going to do. >> No. No. I'm going to take you to jail >> for that. >> There you go, sir. There you go. >> What is this? >> Notice of claims of adverse interest. >> Thank you, sir. >> This looks legit. >> That is legit. It got stamped. >> This this three by three little thing of of light of writing. Looks >> Brother, that that's down there. It was recorded. It's recorded, sir. Down there. So, if anybody >> I still haven't seen a deed. >> Where's a deed? Where's the deed to the house? >> The deed is coming in the mail. >> That's what you said the last time, >> sir. >> That's what you said the last time. That looks like a prescription. >> If you think you're going to charge an estate, that's who's suing you, buddy. >> You see that name? >> Yeah. >> I'm your messiah.
