morning on the 14th of November 2022 officers received a call from a concerned neighbor about her elderly neighbor who was residing with a strange man in response to the call an officer arrived at the location to perform a wellness check on the old woman and met the strange man in question who had opened the door for the officer however the officer didn't know that something sinister had happened arrest before he was eventually taken to Jail the officer who made the routine check sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital where he was properly treated in the end the man was charged with battery to a law enforcement officer resisting an officer and two counts of bail jumping if you thought that was extremely insane then you haven't seen the case of Vanessa Marquez whose out of concern the manager requested that the cops perform a welfare check on her following his request the cops visited her residents with no idea of the horror that they were about to witness cany your vehicle turn off your vehicle do it now on the 29th of April 2023 officers received call from six people reporting a man named Aaron Singh who fell asleep behind the wheel on a highway bringing a stop to traffic in response to the calls officers arrived at the scene and set up spikes to prevent Aaron from taking off before they woke him little did they know that the spikes wouldn't stop Aaron eventually resulting in his demise moving forward with the case of this man who turned a welfare check into a shootout between him and the cops oh are you there yeah oh go good shots fired on the 6th of August 2023 officers received 911 call from someone who requested a welfare check on a man who hadn't been saying for months Austin 911 do you need police Fire EMS or mental health services yes I was calling to ask for a welfare check on my neighbor haven't seen him in about 6 and six 8 months okay um so what is the address where officers are going to yes my neighbor his address is 1 28 Channel c h a n n e l Island Drive Channel Island Drive in Austin Texas you said you haven't seen him for 6 eight months yes you know we used to see we we used to know that he was there because he would get Amazon and Uber Eats deliveries but since the beginning of the year probably February was the last time I saw something and I've been knocking at his door for randomly throughout day throughout the month of July and no answer in fact I just knocked on his door because he had four huge huge at least for me a be beehive walks Smith mhm and I was calling to ask for his permission to kill him because they were going they were flying into my yard he didn't answer I knocked I ran the doorbell nothing his AC I haven't heard his AC turn on either okay and um you haven't seen any movement in the house any lights turning on or off or anything not at all his fans is you know his yard you we we all know here in the neighborhood that you know it's been years since he kept up with it um so there's really nothing else for me to know that other than the deliveries from Amazon and over to to know that he's okay in response to the call officers were dispatched in the man's location upon arrival the officers began to knock on the door but got no response initially however when they finally got a response they came face to face with the unexpected must want to kick the front door have to craw through this girl you can yeah I'm I'm pretty sure I can boot it I'm confident in my uh miss my giantess [Music] God dang that's like piing a [Music] [Music] wall aome police what awesome police you in there police oh are you there yeah oh go go [Music] who as soon as the man saw the officers he armed himself with the firearm and stepped out as a threat to the cops who immediately retreated to deescalate the situation but the man was ready for the situation to escalate greatly and what he did next rais the stakes to the roof hey drop the gun I think he went back in the house [Applause] hey no I can't see him did it go back in the house he was in the front yard when I fired he's in that brush I can't see him from this angle [Music] the situation became extremely tense as bullets began to fly but the man wasn't done yet he still had more chaos to cause hey did I hit [Music] him during the gunfire one of the officers was unfortunately hit escalating the situation even more yeah he was standing out his porch when he started shooting [Music] coming sh I [Music] [Music] the standoff went on until midnight when the man finally walked out of the house and surrendered while he was being arrested officers discovered he had a wound and rendered Medical Care to him the officer who got hit was taken to a hospital where his non-life-threatening injuries were treated the man was also taken to the hospital but his condition remains unknown
