North Carolina he attempted to withdraw $4,000 on the 29th of January 2023 officers responded to a 911 call from a bank where a man was trying to withdraw $4,000 from a checking account using someone else's identity when they arrived they encountered a guy who tried to play it cool despite being caught in the act why my name's officer Bell okay you're being detained right now all right you're not suspect decided to come up with a new story to throw them off so this isn't you it's like in a situation where some having you know I'm I been about it you know what I'm so you're here against your information upon further investigation the cops found out that not only had the suspect tried to Rob multiple Banks recently but he also hadn't bothered to change his outfit when doing it and at this moment he was testing the cop's patience with his continued nonsense talk so you understand that right now what you're doing is is an actual offense of itself not being honest with us about what your the ID that you that he he presented so where did you collect these items from deeper investigation revealed that the suspect was involved in even more trouble okay we got this guy detained inside this First National Bank um he's got an ID that doesn't belong to him a social security card doesn't belong to him a Capital One credit card that that doesn't belong to him and all three of those items are in a uh with are in the same name he's given us a different name now saying he's you know from North Carolina we confirmed that information with dispatch and the rapid ID appears to give us that same info right so he's been to like four different First National Banks within the last like two or two weeks or so and each each time he's in these Banks um there's like an alert on him right now like so when they run his stuff through uh the database or whatever there's alerts popping up cuz he's trying to use the same accounts or something like that and each each time he ends up leaving before he actually withdraws money so there hasn't been like a theft of funds essentially but um every time he he he'll leave randomly and he'll leave like you know know documents behind identification documents behind like fake IDs or whatever um so um there was no actual like fraudulent transaction made today he attempted to withdraw $4,000 but they caught on to it and were able to keep him in the in the bank it's what we got here in the end the suspect was charged with forgery and identity theft
