On July 29th, 2024, a routine response to a reported street fight escalated instantly when officers realized a dispute over a comment made involving who had the right of way when crossing the street. Don't talk to him. Tell me what happened. He almost ran me over. I said, "Yo, what the fuck?" He comes back. He He jumps off the bike like he's going to hit me. What kind of [ __ ] is that? >> You were crossing the street? >> Crossing the street. >> bus was here and you were crossing >> I crossing this way with the pizza. I got the light. >> And he's coming in like a freaking [ __ ] Okay. So, he was on a bicycle and he ran through the light. Ran through the light. And then he wants to hit me with that stupid shame. Come on, man. This is You guys are ridiculous. Right on the sidewalk. You know, they they You know, I'm I'm let people out. I have to open my door so they won't run them over because they don't have no common sense. You don't see the blankets? You don't see people trying to cross? So, you have ID? Yeah, yeah. He comes out of gets off his bike, throws it on the floor like, "What the [ __ ] you going to do, yo?" >> Where's the bike? Right here. Threw everything on the floor like like he like he's going to hit me. >> Okay. What would cause him to pull the bicycle chain off? I guess he wanted to hit me with it. You saw him now? What's up? You saw him coming this way with the chain. LOOK WHERE HIS BIKE IS. I'M GETTING ON MY BUS. I'M TRYING TO AVOID HIS HIS STUPIDITY. All right. Sure. All right, just tell him what happened. Okay, and you stopped right there? >> Yeah, I stopped right there and I told him, "Hey." Where your Where your bike is, that's where you stopped? >> Yeah. Okay. I told him, "Hey, what happened?" He He He started to insult me, bro. And he And he showed me the knife. That's why I got mad and say, "Okay, do something." Okay, and then that's when you grabbed that? Yeah. All right. You have your ID on you? You have any ID? You have no ID? No ID. I don't know, man. I don't know what's going on with these people. What's your first name? Jose. He said uh the guy got out, started talking some crazy [ __ ] and he pulled out a knife, and he said uh What did he say exactly to you? Uh no, he was going to kill me. That what you said before? Yeah. Exactly what you said before? Yeah. So, he pulled the knife, went towards you, said, "I'm going to kill you." Where Where was he facing at the time? Come on, man. As I'm going to go down. What? You have 10-10? Yes, sir. 10-10 on 10-10. 10-11. All right. And then we called the vehicle owner, but he said he was able to uh break the window of his car and uh get the dogs out. So, he does not need the services anymore. Um he has a complaint? Oh, it's weapons found on the front porch 10-14 on winning. What? You know, you know, he speaks English, but it it was broken. Right. He came out, throws the bike. He came towards me. I said, "Yo, I don't want a problem, man. I don't want a problem. I'll [ __ ] you up." I wasn't scared of I said, "You know what?" So, when I took that out, which I shouldn't have. You know, he backed up, then he went and got the chain. That's when I walked away from him and I was getting on my bus and thank god you guys came. All right. I did I did. I did. I guess I'm now in trouble. So, that we're into a bigger issue now, yes. Yeah, we we actually have the knife here. I just want to make sure the story that um that he was telling me earlier Yeah, I'm not going to I'm not going to tell me I I'm not going to lie to you. I did, you know, I did. You know, these crazy people going around, you don't know what the hell he was going to I don't know what he was going to pull out or what to do doing you know? Okay, two officers secure to the bench going on. >> [snorts] >> The swift response led to the immediate arrest of the aggressor after police recovered both a knife and a loaded firearm from his possession. He was eventually transported to the county jail and now faces multiple serious charges, including terroristic threats and unlawful possession of weapons.
