On July 11th, 2024, officers on park patrol initially addressed an agitated woman screaming at two men. After leaving, they were called back to the same park for the same woman, now threatening one of the men with a walking cane. Officers deescalated the situation and returned the cane to its owner. At one point, she grabbed the cane again and threatened to use it to hit the man she took it from and a child nearby. She was placed under arrest and transported to Hoboken police headquarters where she was charged with making terroristic threats, possession of weapons for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
