He attacked my daughter. >> He said, "You don't know who your father is. Don't be an Instagram daddy when I'm a fulltime mom." >> He called me a Don't be like your mother. >> She ended up picking up a chair and trying to hit me with it. >> On November 16th, 2024, officers responded to a residence after a domestic dispute erupted during a child pickup involving a mother and the father of her three-year-old son. The situation escalated inside the home following an argument over child support and medical insurance leading to a heated verbal confrontation between the parents, family members intervening, and the mother picking up household objects while children were present. >> Hey y'all, what's going on? >> Hey, how you doing? >> Doing okay. >> Okay. >> I'm I'm going to talk to them first cuz they're by the car. I'm going talk to you second. Is that okay? >> All right. If you want to just hang out over there, I'll come talk to you in a second. >> But he's a girl, too, so you can come on over here. That's not mommy got this. >> It's not fair. How can somebody like a villain just get away with this? >> I know he don't know who else I can't do this. >> I'm going come talk to you in a second. STOP. YOU THREATEN MY KID. STOP. STOP. GO. GO. Can you go inside? I'LL TALK TO YOU NEXT. >> TERRELL, GO IN THE HOUSE. >> BUT I already told YOU. >> LET'S GET THIS THING UNDER CONTROL. TERRELL, GO IN THE HOUSE. >> Stop yelling. Stop yelling. Sir, I'm going to talk to you in just a second. Just go in the house for me. Okay. Tell me what happened. Please tell me what happened. >> My kid. >> So basically, sorry about my kid. >> Can you step step inside for me, please? Thank you. >> Officer Le is legit. >> It's Liot. >> Lied. Excuse me. Officer Li. Okay. So now, she's a minor. >> I want her to get in the car. This is my daughter. Do you mind if she gets in the car or you want her? >> Were you here for what happened? >> Absolutely. >> Okay. I'm going to have to talk to her, too, though. So, if you want to do that both that right now or if she wants to stay t sit in the car and I'll talk to her in the car. We can. >> Okay. I'm just trying to keep her calm >> cuz she's a kid. >> You good? You good out here or do you want to sit down? >> Okay. >> Nobody who's going to wait because this >> I know. >> You got to tell me what happened. >> Okay. >> Listen, she's a bear. >> Here, we're going to face this way so I can see everybody. >> So, when she finally snaps, she snaps and she's tired, please. >> Okay. This is a a 17-year-old. >> She's tired of everything. And she's trying to defend me, her mother. >> Okay. That gentleman, he's not even a man, but that person with a should not stop. You're making it work. Listen, you are an honor student. You have scholarship. You understand? >> You're not about to mess up your scholarship. So, at the end of the day, me and this gentleman have a child together. Okay? He's not been in a child's life. The only time he tries to see our son is if we both live in Atlanta. He comes down to Columbus every two to three months to see him. I asked him on November 1st, "Can you please put our son on insurance like the court order, the child support court order supposed to be?" I never got a response. I saw him. I walked in. I first of all, when I dropped our son off, I didn't know he was going to be here. I came back. Mr. Dupri, which is my son's grandfather, answered the door. I said, "I don't want to come in cuz I'm angry. I just want my son." >> How old is your son? >> He's three. >> He's in the car. Okay. So, you you share what's his name? >> His name is Titan. I have >> So, you share Titan with him. Okay. >> His father's not even on the birth certificate. He has no rights, no anything. He just pays child support. >> He's a dead beat father. If you if you had a deadbeat father, >> it'll be him. So I came to get not about So who's Whose house is this? >> This is not your house. >> It's not my house. >> No, no one's leaving anywhere right now. Okay. I need to figure out what's going on first. Okay. So, nobody's leaving. Okay. >> You okay? >> Okay. Can I Let me Can I finish? >> Yeah. Continue. But like I said, when you say stuff like that loud, it's provoking. So it's going to have him. I'm saying when you're saying talking about how, you know, he's a dead when you say I I I understand that's how you feel. But when you when you say it loud like that, he's going to come out and we got to start all over. I got to get my mind back. I'm trying to listen to you and what happened and I respect you as an officer of the law. >> Okay. So let's let's continue. So you come here to pick up the child. >> I'm just going to sit >> or drop off the child. >> Okay. I can I have a very good relationship with my son's grandparent, which is his his >> Okay. >> Very good relationship. So I was dropping tight and off. I saw my son's father caught here. I got upset >> because I know what he does not do for our son. No birthday, no happy birthday, no Christmas, no visitation. We live 25 minutes from each other in Atlanta. Nothing. >> The only time he sees Titan is if he's hearing his parents out. He'll come down his parents house to see Titan. And it upset me because he's a single mother. I try to do the best I can and for him to play in my face and Titan's face by oh I don't have to see Titan on the regular. I could just see him when he's at my parents house. That's not real fatherhood. On November 1st sir I have the text message to prove. I sent him we have a child order from 2022 where he's supposed to be on Titan. Titans will be on his health insurance in two years. He's not done that. I sent him a message on November 1st. Hey can you put Titan on your health insurance? My son has to have get two put back in his ears. Those are $1,000 a piece. You don't want to be in his life. At least put them on your insurance. Like >> Okay. So that's that's why why you're upset. That's why you told him you don't want to go into the house. Correct. >> Yeah. Yes. I said, "I don't want to come in the house. I'm upset. Let me just stand right here." >> Okay. >> Then Mr. Deree said, "Okay." He called his wife, "Miss Wanita. Her and I are close." I said, "Are you Miss Wanita?" >> No, this is my mom. >> I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry. >> I stepped into the restaurant and then I stopped. Mhm. >> I saw his father sitting there. I went up to him. I said, "Hey, Terrell, did you get my message about putting Titan on your insurance?" >> Okay. >> That ain't got nothing to do with me. That And sir, I have to tell you, somebody that does their best for their kids for you to completely disregard me when I'm asking you, hey, can you just put him on your ship? That ain't got nothing to do with me. I tried. He was born. He didn't even want to claim him. He told me the reason I have Titan and the reason all of this started is because when I got pregnant he said getting and I said no I don't I don't believe in that his life deserve a change. He got mad cuz I would not abort our son. But are you guys talking about that today or is that just why you guys have such an >> This is why we have August. But for today, sticking to the fact of today, >> I asked him, "Hey, did you get my message about putting Titan on?" You understand? That's right. That ain't got nothing to do with me. >> And that's what set the argument off. In our argument, he attacked my daughter. He said, "You don't know who your father is. That's why your granddaddy missing a leg and is crippled." All kind of stuff to a 17 a 17-year-old child. Who says that? And as a mom, I'm going to defend my kids. I love Mr. Mr. and Mr. >> Pri, >> but at the same time, sir, our son is three. He abandoned me when I was six weeks pregnant. Nothing. I'm at my point where I'm tired and I'm fed up. And when I ask you nicely about insurance, that ain't got nothing to do with me. That was it. They can you can ask Mr. I've always been respect come to the top. I've always been nice. I've always been gentle and generous. But at what point do I get sick and tired of being sick and tired and you spit in my face and you're insulting her son? You didn't want him. Okay, but don't insult him. Don't insult my my child. I never insulted his other kids. >> Kids are off limits. >> So you were with her when when you guys came over here and you guys came together. >> Okay. Okay. >> Can I turn my car off? >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> So from my point of view, cuz I was in the car the whole time. So my >> Well, hang on. She's not done with her side yet. Okay. We'll get your side next. What What happened after that? after he insulted your daughter and your son. >> I know he's crying. I'm trying to get him out cuz he's crying. Okay. >> Officer Wood, can you go um in that back and talk to the other party? I told him just to hang on a second. >> Who is it? >> Charles back there. >> You want to take it back? Thank you, sir. So, what what happened after that? >> And so, he and I began a verbal confrontation. >> Okay. >> Because I said, I'm I'm tired of this. That's the only time you see our son is every three months when you come visit your parents. We live 20 minutes apart. Be a good dad. like you haven't done any you've done nothing but child support what the law requires >> like care about our son and that's where it escalated. >> What do you mean by escalated? >> It escalated. He stood up. He put his finger in my face. He passed it to me like he was going to hit me and I'm a female. I told him I said I know you're not a man but at least I thought you had some sense not to put your finger in my face. >> Did he touch you with it or put it in your face like pointed at? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Just and I said get your finger in my face. And that's how it started to escalate >> because what you're not going to do, you don't want to take care of our son. That's when you and God, I hate it. It picked me off, but you're not going to put your finger in my face. And then that's where it escalated to where both of us had to be restrained. And so my daughter saw me coming out. She saw me upset. She came in, him and her start going at it. He starts trying to talk about a kid. This man is 41. We're both 41. >> Not one time have I ever talked about his other kids, his parents. I've even bought his other kids Christmas gifts. Like, kids are off limits. And sir, as a mom, that set me off even more because not only have you insulted one of my children, you've insulted me. Now, you insulted a 17-year-old talking about you don't even know who your daddy is. Your mama made you a bastard. Who said that to >> This is after you had already You came out, right? >> Yeah. I was trying to get to the car. >> Okay. >> And then when they got to her and his daughter owner start talking, that's what he said to the kid. And is that in the house that they're talking and you're out coming outside? >> I was coming outside and she saw me. My daughter saw me and I said, "I'm waiting to get tight and stuff." She saw me coming out and she came in and they started fussing and arguing. >> And that's when he started insulting her. And that's why I said when I stepped in, when I came up in this driveway, I said, "You know what? Let me just get my son." Because I don't mind her. I don't mind his dad seeing him. But if you're going to be a father, be consistent. Cuz the worst thing you can do for a child is see them every 3 months. didn't go ghost. No birthdays, no Christmas, no anything. >> Don't be an Instagram daddy when I'm a full-time mom. >> Question. After the initial physical, you know, altercation, did it get physical again? Was it >> not really? I think his parents was just trying to hold us back. >> Hold you all back. >> Yeah. Trying to hold us. We did kind of get physical. >> Yeah. In the back. You said you back. >> Yeah, he did. But you know what? So when we say get physical, was it like pushing, wrestling, pushing or punching? >> Yeah, fingers in the face. No punching. No punching. >> Punching fingers in the face. He did push me. He did. That's what I'm saying. After everything, and not one time have I put him on blast on social media. Not one time have I done anything to harm this man. All I'm saying is even if us being parents was not what you wanted, respect the fact that I couldn't. I'm not about to have no I didn't want to abort the child. All of this is because I would not do what he wanted and have no. So here's the deal. Like I told him, he said, "That's you acting funny." And I said, "Acting funny." The last time I saw this man, sir, was in March. I had dental surgery in March. >> I didn't say anything to him. I went on about my business. But when I'm trying and I'm asking you about just putting my son on the insurance after everything, >> the least you can do is just say, "Okay, Tiffany, I'll look into it." >> Yeah. >> But to get ugly with me after everything, so I'm calm. What pushed me was when he started to attack my daughter. You don't say to a kid your mom. >> You don't be like, come on. And I've never insulted. Have I ever insulted Mr. Depri? >> Your grandkid. >> So did did you want to stop? >> He even said my father. He said that's why your dad ain't got no leg. My father is just in the hospital that almost lost his leg. The fact that he talked about my father that's a diabetic that's a veteran that's a diabetic that's struggling with his health just cuz you mad at me. Mr. Dupy, have I ever insulted you? >> No. >> Have I ever insulted your wife? >> No. Have I ever insulted anybody in your family? >> You have not. >> I hear you. Let's hear what what did you see happen? >> Okay. So, hi. Basically, I was in the car and my mom was like, "Don't get out." She said, "Don't get out." And so, she went inside to get stuff and to come back. And so, I'm I'm on my phone and I see my mom talking to his mother, Miss Wanita. So, I'm like, "Okay, what's going on? >> Where's Miss Wanita? >> She's in the back." >> Okay. All right. I'll talk to her next. Okay. >> I put my shoes on, sir. Okay. >> Wait. Where are they? >> They They're just in the car. stay in the car. So I seen my mom talking to my and my mom was kind of like, you know, saying I couldn't hear really because I was in the car, but I I couldn't see her like visibly mad. So I'm like, "What's going on?" Mind you, my mom's a single parent. I don't know my I don't really know my father. I know who he is. I know what he looks like. I just don't know him. So she comes out. She's just right there. I'm like, "What's going on?" So I walk out and I She said, "Get tidy stuff." Miss said, "Get tidy stuff." My brother. I'm like, "Okay, cool. He's on the table." I went to go to the table. I see his father cussing at my mother and car. I'm like, "Wait a minute. Who are you talking to?" And he started talking about me. >> Mhm. >> All I'm here is just talk to my just to get his stuff. I just came here to get my mother stuff. And he comes at me yelling at my mother. So I'm like, "Who are you talking to?" So we go back and forth, back and forth. He called me, "Don't be like your mother. I'm 17. I don't even know you for real. And I've been nice to everybody. I'm nice to everybody. So why are you to me?" So he called me and we go back and forth, back and forth. And so his parents try to grab me so I can stop talking to him. And he's like, "Oh, you better go before I get my daughter." His daughter's like 18, 18. I'm nice to everybody. So what she going to do to me? What did I do to you? So he's like, "I'mma get my daughter you. I'm get my daughter in you." He was a and I call him back because you're assaulting me for no reason. So he come his parents try to grab me. So my clothes are broken and they grab me and I'm still mad, upset because you're attacking my mother. Nobody has my mother's side but me. So he's attacking that mother verbally. So I'm I said, "You know what? I'm going attack you, too." So we start arguing. We start arguing. Everybody try to pull us back. And so we argue arguing. Okay. We go back to the the back area by the kitchen door. So we're outside and he's still calling me names. He call me a Don't be like a mother. That's why that's why your clothes are broken. Cuz you can kind of see my blog whatever. Okay. And he was like, "Oh, that's why your clothes are like this. Don't be a hug." All that extra stuff. And I'm like, "Didn't you get a cctomy?" Okay. But that's beside the point. So, we're just outside and he's just arguing with me and then we came out here and they called the police. >> So, what happened when you got outside? So, you guys go outside. He's still going back and forth. >> Yeah. He's still going back and forth and he's like, "Don't let me get my daughter. She's going to beat your ass." >> No, you're right. >> Like, I'm going to beat your ass. You're going to beat your daughter's going to beat my >> How you going to call a teenager try to fight another teenager? Like, >> she's grown. His daughter is grown. I'm still in high school. I'm a senior in high school. So, why are you trying to jump me? Because you're assaulting my mother first. My mother came here to get my brother's things and go out. But no, instead he starts cussing at my mother >> and nobody's on her side but me. I'm in the car. So, I'm going to jump in and try to stop it, but he's cussing at my mother. So, I get in and that's when my clothes are broken and everything that try to pull me away, but I'm still going at it and going at it. >> So, question. When his parents were were grabbing you, they're the only ones that touched you, right? He never touched you. >> Like, sorry. He was like saying he put his finger. Did you Did you touch him at all? >> No. But he was like, "If you touch me, I'm going to push you all the way back to the other house." >> Yeah. Yeah. He said he's going to drop me. But here's the deal, though. Just because we tried to practice peace and I've tried to practice peace doesn't mean I'm not skilled at the art of war. There's only so much a woman can take. There's only so much I can take as a single parent if I'm trying to communicate. And I said, "If you don't want to be in our son's life, at least get him on your insurance." Our son's birthday is May 24th. You think he called him? I had to tell him our son's whole name. He didn't even know her son's whole name. The least you can do is say, "Okay, I'll put him on our insurance. Yeah, I'm a dead. I'm not doing what I'm supposed to do, but at least I'll put my son on your our son on your insurance." Ask him what doctor's appointment he's been with our son. Asking my son whole name. See if he even knows. I'm a fulltime single parent and I hold it down. >> I hear y'all. Um, let me let me talk to my partner for a second, then I'm going to come back get some of your guys' information. Okay. You got an ID on you, a license? You could go ahead and grab that. Well, and then I'll come up and get it from you. Okay. All right. Hey, sir. I apologize about that. I was just trying to keep the peace out there. Okay. I sent my partner back to talk to you as soon as you could. >> Um, if you could I'm going to be taking the primary on this investigation. If you could regive your statements to me, please. Yeah. Just kind of start from the beginning. I know it's kind of >> All right. She came She came and dropped off my son. >> Okay. >> Say maybe 10, 15 minutes later, she came back to pick him up. >> Was this pre-arranged or No, >> no, she was uh we was keeping the baby tonight. So she had dropped him off to us and he was downstairs asleep. She didn't see him but she saw his car outside so she knew he was here. >> Okay. >> The next thing I know she dropped the baby off. About 10 minutes later she came back said uh she come to get Titan and I said, "Oh, okay." And Terrell was sitting down there in the den and uh she started talking to him, fussing to him about some insurance on the baby >> and it went from there. It went from there. You could you couldn't stop. >> Were you asleep when she came down? She was sleeping first. He had woke up. >> You want me to walk you through it again? >> Yeah, walk me through it again. >> I'm going to take him in the house, man. >> That's your mom. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm sorry. Can I do it twice? >> I was sitting here sitting in this chair and she came like right here. When she started fussing, I already knew where it was going. So, I was going to try to That's why I said I'm going to go. >> Mhm. >> But I couldn't get by because where she was standing. >> If I would have came by, then it could have been said that I hit her. It could have been said that she hit me or whatever. So, I end up sitting back down. >> Did you tell her you were trying to go? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. I said, "Man, I'm going to go." >> Did she say anything or no? >> No. She You going You going to listen to what I got to say? Blah blah blah. So, man ain't going to listen to this. You know what I mean? U So then all hell broke loose. She fussing. So my parents asked her to leave. >> When you say all hell broke loose, arguing. >> Yeah. Arguing. Yeah. So my my mama was trying to get her to leave. She wouldn't leave. We end up over here. when when I think my mama might have had a here this area. >> I was going to try I was trying to get by though to get get out and then some kind of way they ended up I guess my mama end up getting up to the stairs and up the stairs. >> Okay. >> And that's when my daughter came running in. >> This is your front door right here, right? >> The front door here and so our daughter came in. My parents end up trying to wrestle him and they older. You know what I mean? Trying to wrestle them at the house. They wouldn't leave. They fussing and fighting. Not fighting physical but bunch of fussing. She end up picking up a chair, tried to hit me with it. She end up >> She picked up a chair. >> Yeah. >> Where was the chair at? >> Upstairs. >> And then you said she picked up a bat. Is the bat upstairs, too? >> Yeah. >> Did anything else happened in here? >> No, we was upstairs. >> Okay. >> So, at this point, my parents, they they kind of like here. Mama, my mom's kind of down on the steps trying to keep her, you know what I mean, from coming down where I was at. Her daughter came in. The mama ended up picking this picking up this chair and trying to hit me with it. And then it was a baseball bat. Baseball bat right there. Did she swing it? >> Yeah, she tried and my dad caught he caught the cherry and he caught the bed. >> Okay. He said your chain broke off. Is this the chain? >> Yeah, she is. And is it broken? >> It's broken. >> Okay. When did that happen? Was that during this? >> Yeah, some somewhere. >> Somewhere in there. >> Um, did she push you at any point? >> I know. My parents was in between us. >> Okay. >> So, >> other than swinging this and swinging that, did she punch you at any point? So, did she ever make physical contact with you? She said swung the chair, swung the bed. >> She did. I don't remember. >> Okay. Have you guys ever lived together? >> Nope. >> You share one child together, right? >> Where was that child during this? >> He was all in the mix of it. >> All in the mix of it. >> So, I had my that's his brother. Uh my son I had my son uh try to stay downstairs with him, but >> Okay. >> You know, he he crying. So, >> yeah. Was your son in the mix of it as well? >> Yeah. He was most he was more so downstairs trying to stay. >> So, he was trying to stay to his himself. But the younger one, what's his name again? >> Titan. >> Titan's the one that you share with her. Titan was in the middle of it. Okay. This is Titan. >> Y. >> Okay. How much you value this chain at? >> Uh, I probably paid about it. >> Was the daughter ever physical with anybody or was she just kind of >> trying to hold her back? >> Hold holding her back. >> Okay. I'm going to talk to your mom out here. Do you want the kids in here with you while I do that? I see you trying to Or are they fine? >> They're fine. >> Okay. You guys were together for most of it. You could give it at at the same time if you want to tell me just kind of what happened. >> Well, she dropped my grandson off early and she left and she came back. She said, "You want to pick her son up?" So I said I said, "Okay." So I told my wife, she was in another room. I said, "Hey, Tiff's here to pick her son up." Then she walked over Terrell, he was sitting on the couch. She walked Terrell, asked him about the help with a medical. And Terrell made a statement like, "I don't have to help with a medical blah blah blah." >> Okay. >> And that's when it all the yelling started. >> The yelling. Okay. >> Yelling. And so I'm I'm between both of them trying to keep them separated. And like they wanted to really touch each other, but they never got chance to. Yeah. cuz my wife was in between of them and I was in between of them and we had to ask her just leave Terrell Terrell go back in the room Tiffany you and your daughter y'all just leave. So Terrell went back in the room just kept on talking and talking then Terrell come out of the room and start yelling again. By that time we had pushed him out the back push her out the back door. >> Did she pick up the chair at any point? >> She did. She did pick a chair up. >> And did she pick up the baseball bat? >> She put the chair down. She put the chair down. She did pick up her baseball bat and I grabbed the baseball bat. >> It didn't hurt you or anything. Did it? No. Okay. You just took it out of her hand. >> They took it out of hand. >> Okay. >> There wasn't really no There was a lot of pointing going on. >> Yeah. >> But really for physical contact, >> not much. Nothing. >> Just a lot of point and yelling and all that. >> Okay. That other girl, was she here as well or No, the older one. >> Oh, no. She just came in. >> She just came. Okay. I'll just get her. What? What's your name, sweetie? >> Oneita. >> Is all of his statements basically the same as yours? Is there anything you wanted to add >> or anything you disagree with that he said? >> That other lady, that's her mother. >> That's her mother. called her mother to come and go. >> Okay. Whose house is this? >> My house. >> Your house. So, you live here? Your husband lives here? Does your son live here? >> My son was here visiting. >> Was here visiting? Okay. She has never lived here, right? No. >> Okay. I think that's all I need from you. Thank you. Did you ever see her take off that jacket that she had on? >> Her sweat. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> When was that? In what context? >> Out here. Out here. >> She took No, she took it off in the kitchen because I was trying to hold her >> Mhm. >> uh to from getting to him. So, she slipped it. Pull it off >> to get loose from you. Okay. Thank you, Tiffany. At any point, did you pick up a chair when you were in there? >> Oh, yeah. I did. I did. And that was the point when he he told my 17-year-old she's a pastor and her father doesn't love her. >> Okay. >> Yeah. At that point, I did. >> Why did you pick up the chair? >> I picked it because I was about to throw it at him for talking to a 17-year-old that way. And who crushes a child like like yes, my daughter has a strain relationship with, but who says a 17-year-old your daddy? You a bastard. Your mama made you like who said that to a kid. I took a chef from him. So, >> yeah. Did you pick up a baseball bat as well? >> Oh, yep. That, too. Cuz he kept talking about my 17-year-old child. And then he talked about my father who's diabetic. >> Okay. Um, did they tell you to leave? >> Yeah. >> Did he tell you to leave as well? >> Mhm. >> Why didn't you leave? >> Once he stood up, cuz he was sitting down on the computer. >> Mhm. >> I was standing up and when I mentioned to him, "Well, why not just put him on your insurance?" And he stood up and he started coming at me and then he put his finger in my face. >> Okay. At that point, it was no longer about the insurance at that point. You put your finger, you're posturing to me like you're going to hit me. So, if you're going to hit me, if you put your finger in my face, and he did push me. So, if you want to do all that, I don't fight, but you're not a man, so let's fight. >> Okay. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back. You're going to be arrested for family violence, simple assault, and criminal trespass. Okay. >> Okay. >> I'm going to explain those to you once we get in the car. Do you have anything in your pockets I need to know about? >> Uh, can I tell them where my keys are? >> Yes. Mhm. >> Okay. All over there. She been arrested. I mean, nobody was struck anything. >> I'll explain again once once I get her into the car. Okay? I'll come back and I'll explain it to everybody. What it is is it falls under family violence. Okay? So, the state of Georgia, if we find a primary aggressor to the altercation in a domestic violence case, which this is, an arrest has to be made. Okay? >> He stood up at me first and he like he was going to hit me first. That's what I'm saying. >> The main thing is you were told to leave. You're in their house. Okay? That's where the criminal trespass came in. If you would have left, none of this would have happened. Okay? The simple assault is from you picking up the chair and picking up the baseball bat. Okay. >> Hold on, gentlemen. Can y'all do me a favor? >> Can y'all not do this in front of my child? >> Listen, I have a very clean record. I'm a therapist. I don't want my child to see this. Okay. >> Your your young one? >> No, I'm a 17-year-old. Please. >> Well, she's already here, ma'am. >> I know, but can she at least walk to the back? I'm all she has. >> You can tell to walk to the back. We're not going to uncuff you. That's not what you're asking. >> No, no, no, no, no. Go ahead. >> Is there any way charges can be dropped? >> It's possible. Okay. >> I don't believe he's going to be able to drop the charges though, but they can be dropped by the state when it's comes as family violence because you two share children. That's what makes it family violence. Okay. If a primary aggressor can be determined in that state, an arrest has to be made and that's state law against me. >> Can I just want to make this arrange? >> How long would she be in jail for? >> Since she said my house, I have no say so. >> It's up to the state. By law, I have to make this arrest. I cannot not make an arrest because I've determined a primary aggressor. Okay? So if if he said right now, I don't want to press charges. If every single person said they didn't want to press charges, which has happened, it's up to us and the state because we're state representatives. But by law, I cannot not make this arrest. >> Get my earbuds out right here. Get that. We're strong. Listen, look at me. We're okay. Get tight and fat. Get your overnight bag. Okay. >> No. Am I able to get my medication out of my bag or Okay. Maybe take it away as soon as you got down there anyways. >> No problem. >> You're going to be going to this front one right here. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, what's going to happen is this case falls under family violence. Okay. That's because you guys share a child together. So, what that does is it's not up to anyone to press charges. It falls onto the state. Okay? So, the state, which we're representatives of, does an investigation. If someone's determined to be a primary aggressor, then charges have to by law be made. Okay? In this case, we determined she is the primary aggressor. She's going to be arrested for criminal trespass. What that is is she was told to leave by multiple people. She has >> You don't have to arrest her? >> Yes, ma'am. >> No, no, no. >> She had no legal right to be in this house at that time. And that's where that charge is. She's going to be charged with simple assault. What that is is that's for her picking up the chair and she stated to me that she wanted to throw the chair at you. That's placing someone at a reasonable interpretation they're going to receive bodily harm. As well as a baseball bat. Okay. And then the other charge is going to be cruelty to children in the third degree. That's basically when a child is present during an altercation. Any questions about that? Okay. All right. We're going to get out of here then. Ma'am, I don't know if I stated it when I placed you in cuffs. You're going to have three charges. Okay. I believe I only stated two. So, I'm going to tell you your third charge is cruelty to children in the third degree. Okay. What that is, we have reports that that child, the young one under three, was present during that altercation. Okay. >> Is any are those misdemeanor? >> They're all misdemeanors. >> Even when I was trying to walk away, he kept coming at me with his finger, yelling, doing all this stuff. That's what I'm saying. Okay. So, if somebody's coming at you, Officer Lick, correct? >> Mhm. Would you turn your back on somebody that's that's coming towards you? >> But you had people trying to pull you out of the house. >> I did, but he kept coming at me as they were trying to pull me. That's what I'm saying. >> If you could have just walked with them out of the house, >> but I would That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to come out the house, but he's still coming at me. That's what I'm saying. If he would have just went on, I was trying to leave, but if somebody's coming at you and they just keep coming at you and I'm saying, "Okay, I'm leaving." And then by the time my daughter walked in, I told them several times, "Let me get my daughter. I'm the only one that can calm her down. I'm fine. Let me get her so we can walk out." And that's why I walked out. I initially walked out, but when she walked back in, I went in to try to get her out. I I didn't just come just stay in their house to be rude. You can ask them. I've never been disrespectful to them. >> I hear you. I understand what you're saying and I understand how, you know, I can see how this escalated. out. >> But that's something that you're going to have to bring before the judge. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> That's not that's not my decision to make. All right. We going to get out of here. Okay. The woman was arrested and charged with simple assault under family violence, cruelty in the third degree, and criminal trespass.
