A lot of what you're saying is not adding up as far as how do you lose a magazine? How do you not know where it went? How does it disappear? So we need you to be 100% honest right now. >> Being honest. >> I I heard your dad's in prison, but what we need to do is figure out how to make sure that you don't have that same issue and so that in 10 years you don't have your own son and you're in prison, too. But conceivably you could have a kid in 10 years, right? >> I hope not. >> If you did take that gun and if that gun ends up shooting a bunch of kids in a school you're going to know your role that was played in that. >> On November 6th, 2025, a woman was at work while her son was at home at their residence. A 13-year-old known to the family along with another visitor came by saying they wanted to pick up a jacket. When the son stepped away to the restroom, the pair took a firearm from inside the home and ran, jumping the fence as he gave chase. I'm Jack and this is Unpopular. >> I mean that's how well we know him. Like he I mean we've fed him, we've clothed him, we've you know. >> You got to shut up. Well, what time did all this happen? >> I got the call at 1:34, so I'd say 1:30-ish. And he was at home by himself but for maybe I had just went back to work from lunch. So I left and he was here by himself 30 minutes. >> Okay. >> took place. >> Well, what time did you leave? >> I left at 1:00. >> Left at 1:00. >> Actually, I got to work at 1:16. >> Okay. >> And you can confirm that at my work. >> You're mom, right? >> Yes, I'm mom. >> You know, I don't like kids. >> I I got back to work 1:15, 1:16 is when I walked back in. So he was only here by himself maybe 15 minutes when this happened. I got in, I sat down, I was just getting to work when my boss came in and talked to me. We were talking about a case that we're working and then I turned around and I had like six miss calls from him, one miss call from him, two miss calls from my father-in-law, a text from him saying "Answer, emergency" and I'm like, what is going on? >> Mhm. >> So, I left right away. >> Do you have any information on the gun like serial numbers, anything? >> Oh, yeah. I have pictures. Um I have pictures with the serial number on it. >> And you said your friend wasn't alone? >> No. He >> Who was this? >> Yeah, I know his first name is James, but I don't know his last name. I don't even know his nickname. >> Okay. >> I don't know if that's here to see, but >> Yeah. There you go. Let's uh let's try to find that mag. >> Yeah. >> You think I can go >> You want to know what to do with it? >> No, I was running. >> I had it in my hand, then I started running after him, and I don't know what happened after >> Okay, well, we searched the shop. >> Yeah, he ran out of right there. Cuz his backyard didn't have a fence. So, they ran, and they jumped the fence. I'm not for sure he dropped the trigger, but I think he did. I ran just >> Let's start walking while I get your exact path because we got to find that mag. Was it loaded? >> I don't believe so. My brother-in-law said he didn't have it loaded, so >> So, >> I don't know if that's >> Let me see if he dropped >> I think he dropped it. >> Yeah. So, you didn't have it whenever you came back, though. >> No, I didn't I knew I took it out for sure cuz I remember taking it out. The gun fell, I picked up the mag, and then they and the gun fell. They got it, they ran away. That's why I had to make a motion I was thinking like everything that I didn't know what to do. I was scared. And then after talking to the state, the state said switch on me. >> The what? >> Switch on me. Picking up, I think they had a switch, so that's why I didn't want to fight back cuz I didn't >> I'll uh I'll need his info. >> Okay. >> I think it's my dad's. >> Yeah, do you want to know like who bought it or cuz I believe it was my husband's. >> Whose name is it in? >> I don't know. My your dad's. >> Who did he buy it from? >> Honestly, I couldn't even tell you. I'm not into the whole gun thing. So, when he buys guns, he's got He's got several. I mean, he's got a 45, he's got a nine, you know, we we have guns, you know. But um I don't know where he got it from, but then I think him and my brother I think my husband wanted a shotgun or something along those lines and they traded. So We both live in the same household. But they're like my brother would >> He did trade >> with him and then my husband had the shotgun or something like that. >> For the camel one, huh? >> I don't know. I don't remember. I really just try to stay out of it when it comes to those things. I'm thinking >> I think he traded for the camel one that he has in the safe. >> I don't know. >> Yeah, if I could just get the info for the owner of the gun. >> I think he traded it for that. >> I'll I'll tell you that he's not saying everything. There's a it just doesn't make sense. >> Mhm. So he's telling that? >> Somebody just doesn't lose something like that, doesn't know where it went. I don't know if that's something you as mom wanted to address, but >> I mean, I feel like we should. I we need >> Yeah. >> all of the details, right? >> What? >> He's saying a lot of this you're saying is not adding up as far as how do you lose the magazine? How do you not know where it went? How does it disappear? So we need you to be 100% [ __ ] honest right now. >> I'm being honest. >> So how does the magazine go missing when we walked the whole way? >> I had the magazine in my hand. I was running. I was scared. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't in the right mindset. I didn't know what to do. I'm scared. >> So where is the mag? We should have found it. Unless do you think they could have circled back and picked it up? I mean, I don't know. I'm >> I think they got picked up because we drove around for like an hour. >> The kids probably got They probably made it somewhere, hopped in a car, got picked up or something like that. >> But it's the magazine. >> The mag, yeah, that's it's not adding up. That's not something that just gets misplaced. The owner of the gun, like who's going to be labeled as the owner? >> I mean, it was mine, but I mean, I didn't buy it. I traded another guy >> What? >> but >> What's uh do you got your driver's license or an ID or something like that? Just so I can >> Mine is right here. >> You need to come back out here, dude. >> No, I had traded a guy from Patatas a long time ago for a I think it was a MP Shield 40. I had that and I traded him for an a couple years AK. And then I had a paper we had signed and everything but I'm going to find out what I'm going to say. >> Where does that dude >> We uh we know where he lives. And you think he might have went over to grandma's house? >> Well, so I called the number that I've always had for his mom and some man answered and he I told him like, you know, Zach took a gun from my house. I just want the gun back. Everything will be fine. But while I said I have sheriffs on the way over here looking for him and he's like, "Zach took what from your house?" And he's like I'm like I'm like I just need to speak to Zach. He's like, "I'm no one to be talking to like that." And I'm like, "I understand but I'm trying to find Zach like you have the phone that he apparently had." He's like, "I'll help you find them but I haven't heard anything." So, I don't know you don't know who the man is that answered. I have a number for them if you want it. Oh, wait. I was going to say maybe they should call him. >> Is Zach Hispanic, white, black? >> I think he's white, I would say. >> Do you have a picture? >> Oh, yeah. I have a picture of him. >> Let me go. >> I don't know if he's faking. I think they did have a switch on them. That's why I didn't try to fight him. >> Like they had another gun on them? >> I think it was a >> I believe it. >> a Glock 20 >> This is him. >> I'm really positive that they did have a switch on them. >> How do you know? >> Because before he was coming he was cuz he told me he was coming for the jacket and I'mma bring the Glock he's trying to shoot, you know? And he just he's trying I gave him the I gave him the jacket when he went to the restroom, heard the door, ran out, they were already running. I chased them. I could have caught up to him but >> Okay, if y'all hear anything, please let me know. Likewise, if we hear anything, get in contact with anybody, we'll let you know. So, I would >> guys have my number or you guys just going to come back by over here? >> We'll probably come back by over. Let me get your number just in case. >> I'm going to have questions as far as So, this report he's going to get charged with robbery. But I also have questions as far as what we do if the gun is retrieved. Like if you guys do find him and you find the gun on him, what steps do I need to take? Or what if it's sold from here till then? Like what do we do? >> The gun is going to going to enter into the national database as stolen. Um he'll be charged with Yeah, he'll be charged with at least aggravated burglary, which is uh entering and then arming themselves. >> You got to find it on him with that attached to it. >> Yeah, oh yeah. Um I mean the kid's 13, so he's not allowed to have any possession of any firearms. So yeah, there's there's definitely a lot of stuff that we'll be doing if we do find him if he has that. Um our main priority is going to be locating him and trying to find the gun right now. If we find anything out, we'll we'll let y'all guys know, okay? >> Okay, thank you. >> Do you guys have others? How you guys related? >> I'm his trainer. >> You're his trainer? Cousin. Okay. Hi, how are you? >> Hi. >> Does he hang out with any older kids? >> Just like his cousins. >> Okay. Who are his cousins? >> But they're like 13. >> But no one like older than that, maybe someone with a license? >> I don't know. >> No. I'm just trying to think about it or cuz just the base on the the statements, maybe he cuz I guess he had stayed out there a couple weeks before. He had spent some No, like he had spent some time there. >> My mom lives in the same neighborhood. >> Well, do you have any where you think we should look that they hide stuff? >> Most time it's just in his room. Under the mattress or on the top of the closet is always my first go-to. >> Mhm. So we did check there. >> For sure? >> I mean I don't >> Cuz some kids love to check there. >> We did. >> Shoe boxes? >> Yeah, but it's a >> his clothes there piled up by the door. >> But it's the rifle, little. Trying to figure out what to do with this little guy. And did he tell you about it when he got home yesterday? He did? >> Yeah, he told me that in the dining room like wigged out on him and that he was all upset like his normal self with the monkeys. Kind of got back to the situation where we first started. >> And um these other two kids >> do they go to the school with him or >> Um Zay goes to the Y Academy. >> Uh-huh. >> He has to be taken over there. >> Do you take them every morning or >> Most of the time either me or my mom, we kind of >> And Zay's the cousin? No, Zay's the other one? And then his cousin, where does he go to school? >> He doesn't. >> No? So the one with the curly hair out front, he's the cousin, right? And he doesn't go to school and this other one goes to the Y Academy. Okay. >> I tried to tell officer that I get him in this little bit, but that's I don't know, I just try to >> Interesting. >> stay in my lane. >> Absolutely. Okay, hold on. Let me see what Let me make some phone calls real quick. >> Okay. >> Let me see if I can get Devon up to come do this. >> Cool. >> He can come out. He's out. >> We'll sit here and do it and we'll just hand him the papers in the office. >> Um yeah, ma'am, you can You can follow us up there. >> Um yeah, I'll follow you. Yeah, that's what you do and you can get all my papers and then turn it in. So it's on the board. Why is my picture on the board? >> Okay, you're still on probation. I'm going to get you violated for that, too. If you don't want to be honest and you don't want to be a little cooperative, then we can we can make it just as hard for you. Or you can even ride with the sheriff and he can keep talking to you. It don't matter. I mean, but you probably need to You need to go up to the office and wait until we're done. So you can You can just sit in the lobby. We'll just hang out with this kid. Uh the 700 North Lane, that's the courthouse. Right across from the library in the big courthouse. >> Do you know what's going on? >> Yeah. Well, we're going to detain him and we're going to probably do an arrest warrant to see if he goes in the custody or not. >> Why? For the burglary yesterday. >> Yeah. >> But if he didn't take the gun then >> He decided to lawyer up and didn't want to talk to us. So all we have is the other person's story, which is pretty There's probable cause, so >> Yeah. >> I'm just asking. >> No, if he doesn't want to tell us the story, then that's all the gospel we have, you know. >> That's all we got. >> You know what? He can ride with me. Come on. Go get in the front seat. Let me see your wallet, buddy. All right, let's go inside. Just sit at this table, buddy. >> Did you want a coffee? You want to try one or not? >> Yes, sir. >> He can't have no coffee, bro. >> Sure, babe. >> I apologize to Zachariah. >> Okay, the last one. >> Cuz I realized when we were on the couches, it was really cold. And I think we miscommunicated with each other. >> Sherwin was asking if he was on on probation. >> And after reviewing the conversation in my head, I was thinking maybe I didn't understand what he was saying, he didn't understand what I was saying. So, I genuinely don't know. Does after talking to you, I don't know that he knows he's on probation or not? >> I I mean, I don't I don't know if he really is or not, cuz they just told him to write a paper. >> So, a lot of times when we deal with people, and we ask them if they're on paper, if they're on probation, they'll either try and hide it from us, or they'll And so, it's easy for us to jump to the conclusion that we didn't check out. So, you're here and you're trying to conceal that. >> So, you you know, how do you feel about that? I mean, does he Does he say that he's on Like, is he on probation? >> No, that he don't know. >> I didn't know that. I did not know if that Yeah, they just told him to write a paper. >> with say, "I don't know." when they're trying to lie to us, because they don't want to lie to us. And then And so, they're like, "I don't know." Like, "Did you rob the bank?" "I don't know." >> Right, right. >> All right, Zachariah. Straight shooter. All right, I'm going to tell you tell you like it is right right now, okay? >> Okay. >> I'm not going to ask you like your guilt or innocence or anything like that. I'm not going to ask you about this crime. But I'm going to tell you that we have probable cause. Do you know what Do you know what probable cause means? >> Like, the something that could happen? >> Yeah, so reasonable suspicion. The difference between reasonable and suspicion. Reasonable suspicion is a lighter thing. So, if I'm driving down the street as a cop, and I see >> Like, a group >> somebody walk out of the bank, and they've got a big puffy jacket on and they've got their hands in their pockets and they're wearing a ski mask. Like I have That's not a crime, right? But, is it reasonable for me to think that there's a crime that just occurred since some guy just walked out of the bank with a ski mask on? That's reasonable, right? And so, under reasonable suspicion, I can stop him and I can interview him and I can say, "Hey, what's going on? What are what Why are you wearing a ski mask in the bank, right?" Probable cause is different. Probable cause would be if I'm driving past the bank and they come out with a gun and they've got the ski mask on. Now, is it a crime to have a gun in a bank? >> I don't know. Yes. >> It is. Yes, it's a crime. >> So, I don't even know that one. >> And so, I drive past and this guy comes out with a gun. And probable cause means you you did the crime and it's not. And so, right now, based off of what all the information we've gathered and what you've talked about because you you've And that's fine. Like I you can absolutely talk to an attorney, but based on that, we have probable cause that a crime occurred, okay? And in New Mexico right now, with the juvenile system, based on our probable cause and the fact that there was a firearm, that is an automatic, you're going in custody. You're going to jail. Like you're you're going like In in Clovis, we don't have a jail. We don't have a youth jail. And so, the closest youth jail that's available is Lea County in Lovington. And then there's another one in Las Cruces. And there's one in Farmington, New Mexico. See, it's it's so it's far. It's it's super far away. Um so, that's an option we have right now is because I know we have probable cause. I know if we take this in front of a judge, he's going to say, "Yes, there's probable cause." To be honest, our community is having such a hard time with youth and guns right now that we're not playing around. Like we're we're we're not messing around with it I know the judge isn't going to mess around with it. If we take that route, what would happen? We'd go get a warrant, the judge would sign it, we'd put you in handcuffs, we'd put you in the back one of our cars, and we would drive you to either Las Cruces, Lee County, one of those places on the other side of the state, and you would be in a jail environment at that point. And you haven't been to jail before, but it's not fun. It's not I'm having a hard time with that option with you right now cuz we've been talking and I understand the of where you're coming from. I think you're as a human being, as a kid, I think you're salvageable. And I don't think you've done anything to the point to where you can't come back from it and be a contributing member of our society and do amazing things and have an amazing life. It's just straight talk. I worry that if we take that route, if we put you in jail with these other kids that are not salvageable, and these other kids that have done heinous things, and they're they're really struggling with life, I think that you might latch onto that. And I think that because you're you seem like you're pretty pretty easily influenced by your surroundings, and that's not uncommon for anybody your age, but I worry if I put you we put you with kids like that, that you're just going to double down on where we're at with this behavior. And our goal, and I was telling your mom this earlier, it's not an us versus you thing. It's not me and Harvey versus you. We're all on the same team, and we're trying to figure out how to get you on the right track so that you're not having issues. I I heard your dad's in prison. >> Um >> Okay. Yeah, it's a mess, right? And it's terrible for you, and I'm sorry you're going through that, and that sucks. But what we need to do is figure out how to make sure that you don't have that same issue, and so that in 10 years you don't have your own son, and you're in prison, too. See what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Like I want to stop this with you, and so that 10 years from now you're at the park with your kid, or 20 years, or however long it takes to have a kid. But conceivably you could have a kid in 10 years, right? >> I hope not. >> Yeah. Like I told you, you'll be in 5 years you'll be a graduated adult. And and like I said, it's that's when life starts to get tough. No more I can skip school all I want. It's if you skip work, you know, paycheck, no food, no house. So it's, you know, it's it's a lot to think about as a 13-year-old, right? But that age is your future, and it gets here before you know it. In 5 years you'll be 18 and I'll be retired. And I'm hoping it comes really fast. Okay? >> So that's option one, right? Option two is we expedite We've already got the report done from yesterday. We send that over to juvenile probation. We expedite the process over there. We get you over there in front of juvenile probation, and so you can meet a probation officer, and they have services, and they've got things that they can offer to us. Because juvenile probation is just like us. And I think that's the most important thing I want you to take from this is none of us are against you. Like we're on team Zachariah right now. Like you have a whole team of us, and our goal right now is to make sure you have the best life you can. And that carries over to juvenile probation. If we take this report over there, send it over there, then literally we're going to get up and go over there right now, and you're going to meet probably with probation officers, and you're going to get started in this system, and you're going to get started for the rest of your life. Like seize seize the day. And you're you're stopping right now, and you're That doesn't mean you're not going to have mistakes, and you're not going to do silly things like stay up too late on Xbox, or smart off to your mom. Like that's all regular kid behavior. And that stuff is going to happen, and we're going to have those hiccups, and that that's fine. It just is what it is. It's part of growing up. But wait, we are going to stop is anything to do with kids that are crappy and guns and like this adult gangster lifestyle, which is going to end in a complete nightmare and world of for you. Pardon my language, but that's where it's going. It's a complete world of where you don't ever you never get to go on vacation, you never travel anywhere, and you don't get to get to experience life as it's intended. And we don't want that for you. >> Well, here's a lesson for you. You've You've asked for an attorney, right? So, we can't We're not going to ask you anything about this gun and where it went. We've We've investigated it. We've all came up with our own through our evidence we've collected what we think happened. All right? Remember what I told you? I said First I said education is number one. Then I told you never mind. Number one is stay away from these kids with guns and stuff cuz we got kids People shot every day. And if you're running around with guns, if some older kid propositioned you, which means he told you You told him, "I know an AK-47 is." And he said, "Go steal it for me." If something like that happened, that's the wrong path to be on. Like I might end up shooting someone, which would implicate you or or you The worst thing could happen is you get or imagine someone gets shot and then you're even if you're not criminally liable, it's on your conscience. You got to deal with somebody because some some of your acts. So, we're not going I'm not trying to ask you to tell me where the gun is or any of that, but I'm just telling you, number one is you can't be running around with kids that want to play with guns. I know it gets glorified and kind of people think it's cool and whatnot. If you like guns, then get a mentor and go to the range and shoot your gun and have fun and it's enjoyable, but you do not want to be running around with these kids that that want guns, want to be hanging guns, wearing wearing shiesties, and driving around. Just this year we've seen six to seven juveniles all gunshot related, all gun wounds, and that could be you. So, just remember that. That's what number one important thing. Cuz if you're That's it. You'll be You don't have to worry about getting an education, you don't worry about feeding yourself cuz that's over. >> I mean, that is the worst case scenario I can offer you, okay? You have friends in the Do you have people you like to hang out with? Like people you probably went to school from kindergarten until now with? Not asking you to tell me where this gun is, but if this gun ends up in that school and shoots a bunch of your friends, how is that going to make you feel and how is that going to go on your conscience? And and like I said, either you had something to do with this or you didn't have anything to do with it. That's going to be between you and your mom and JPO and Jesus himself. But I'm telling you if if you did take that gun if that gun did get turned in to on our street somewhere and if that gun ends up shooting a bunch of kids in the school you're going to know your role that was played in that. Does that make sense? >> Yeah. >> So and you'll probably know when the ATF comes knocking on your door. >> What is that? >> Those are the federal guys. Because if a bunch of kids get shot >> Yeah, they just investigate. >> the federal cops will come down here. What you decide to tell your mom or JPO or call Curry County Crime Stoppers which is completely anonymous, that main thing is getting that gun back and getting that gun so it doesn't end up hurting somebody and so you don't spend the rest of your life knowing that some of your friends Was there a girl or a particular girl you liked? Some of the somebody that that you were sweet on a little bit? Nothing? You're that age. There's always a girl There was a girl that smiled at you at some point. >> You can't ask that from a mom. >> Yeah, right. But you don't want that on your conscience. You don't want her to get hurt, okay? >> How do you know? >> I've got all kinds of avenues. She's got the number for Crime Stoppers. They don't ask any information about you. It actually that number goes to Canada. >> I know. >> And it goes to Canada because we can't do a search warrant or do a subpoena or do anything to get the records when you call that in. You're calling talking to a a citizen who then sends an email back here, gets filtered through a bunch of people, and then eventually, if you knew where that gun was at, we would go and get that gun, and nobody would ever know that anybody had anything to do with it because we wouldn't even know. All I would know is we we got the gun back. Newsflash, not that you would do this for money, but there's actually money tied to that. And so, if that gun was to be retrieved, then you would make a little bit of bank off of that. You would You'd get some money, and sounds like you you and your family could use a couple bucks right now with the whole move. If you're moving somewhere, it's expensive, and you need money. So, just things to think about, okay? You can have that. We're going to do the JPO route right now, but I'm going to go kind of be frank with you. Pull your head out of your bro. You've got to stop. And And that attitude that a lot of kids your age have with law enforcement has got to stop. And I'm not saying like I know we miscommunicated a little bit, but dropping yes, sirs and being respectful like you've been in here goes a long way towards keeping you from getting more criminal charges. Okay? >> Okay. >> Do you have questions for us? Is there anything that >> No, sir. >> Okay. You're going to go to juvenile probation. I think your mom is supposed to go to work, but I This It is what it is. I'll drive him over there and spend a little more time with him. Talk Talk to him a little bit more. >> Okay. >> I'm going to go make the phone call, and then you're ready to go. >> Later that same day, at a different location, investigators arrested the 13-year-old's mother, who was pregnant at the time. >> I don't I need to clock out, or >> That's not how it works. You're under arrest. You're on my time now. You're pregnant, right? >> Yeah. >> So, we're going to do it in the front, okay? >> Okay. >> That's the rules when you're pregnant. >> Okay. >> And we'll talk right here. Hang tight right there. >> Okay. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> Let's talk for a minute, okay, about what's going on. >> Okay. Thanks, too. >> I I am I'm going to, okay? Okay, I'm not I'm not going to ask you any questions, but I won't you answer any questions. I'm just going to talk to you for a minute, okay? I don't want to get into all the asking questions or anything like that, okay? >> Okay. >> Um but I just want to go over what's going on right now, okay? So, you do have the right to remain silent. We were done this morning, okay? And then we got a phone call. >> Mhm. >> And we were given a video. >> Mhm. >> And it's a video of you driving your son up, take him to a house, and you got the gun in the car, and you give it to a guy who's a felon, who's also being arrested as we speak, with your son. >> With my son? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Not arrested with your son, but on the video. We have a clear video of you guys. >> Okay. >> And that's what happened. We were done this morning, and then this video was given to us in pure strange luck, but you drive up and we were shocked. I mean, completely shocked, okay? So, that's why we're here. So, the warrant is for receiving a stolen firearm because you had the firearm in your vehicle, then contributing to the delinquency of a minor because your child is a minor. It's a child because you had there was a firearm in the vehicle. So, this I I don't know what this is about. It's resisting evading or obstructing or obstructing this morning because you didn't tell us at all of that. >> Okay. >> So, um you're looking at some pretty hefty charges. >> Yeah, it sounds like it. >> Okay. >> [clears throat] >> I don't know I I wish you would have talked to us this morning so that we could have just kind of worked through all of this and got it all figured out. I like to be a straight shooter like I'm telling you right now, and I like everybody to be that way with me, too. You know, it's easier to kind of get ahead of it than try to come back after this, okay? And I'm not the one that got the warrant. The lieutenant's the one that got the warrant, okay? I'm just >> [clears throat] >> I'm the investigator. So, and he's out making the other arrest on on the guy you met up with. I'm not even sure what his name is, but he knows he knows all that. >> Okay. >> I know you're having some financial problems and trying to find a new place to live and all of that stuff and I'm assuming that's what's going on with you right now. So, I can understand that. And I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt about Okay. I know you're pregnant and like I said times are hard and I know it's hard to be an adult and I know it's hard to do and make a living and I completely get it. Okay. Um I don't know they'll get you arraigned and then the judge will make a determination on bail. >> Okay. >> I'm not sure how they make the determination on what they do with the bail if there is a bail or if they're going to let you out on a no oral bond or or what they'll do at that point. Okay. >> Okay. >> My other concern is your child. Where is he? >> He was at home when I went to work. >> Okay. So, he's going to be probably taken into custody. Not under arrest, but taken into custody because you can't leave him roaming the streets. >> Could he go to my mom's or no? >> I don't know who Tell me who your mom is. >> Her name's Monique Cash. >> Okay. And does she have a record or anything cuz they're going to look at all of that. We can't just, you know, take a kid and without >> Yeah, I know. I think she's gotten traffic tickets, but that's about it. >> How do you know the other party, the guy? >> That's this one's dad. >> Okay. >> No. >> Okay. Just to kind of get to the root of it, I don't want your son in trouble for something he didn't do. My gut this morning was that the other party which which you didn't know that somebody older had told him to go ahead and take that. But I don't know if he did it on his own or if >> There's honestly no telling. >> Does he run with Is he your boyfriend? I mean that's I don't know. >> We're not we're not together. Well, not now, but we're just kind of having a kid together. Kind of like >> No, I get it. I mean you don't have to explain it to me. I absolutely get it. I don't I mean I live in the real world here. So, I mean it's it's okay. Does your son know him real well? Okay. He's been around him. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, my I'm I'm assuming also that he was his idea to get to sell it cuz I'm sure my understanding is this guy knows a lot of people and could get rid of that gun. >> I don't know. I just try to be the good mom then whatever, you know, try to be supportive, I guess, and not rock the boat, I guess. >> But, it's not him. It's not the other one's dad. They're not related. >> No. No. >> Okay. No, just >> this one. >> So, did he tell you I need a ride over there or did did the other the older guy I'm just calling him the older guy cuz I don't even I can't call him your boyfriend, but your the father of your child, the gun buyer's child, did he call and say he had somebody to to sell it? >> No, Zach just asked me for a ride, so I gave him a ride, but >> Were you I mean, you saw the gun, obviously. >> I saw one, yeah, but I just I don't know. >> Okay. >> I think I'd rather let my lawyer be here, if that's okay. >> That's absolutely fine. I don't have to >> Just cuz like I don't know like, you know, I'm not I don't know the law very well and I don't I just don't want to make say something that's not you know. >> No, absolutely. You have every right and I absolutely respect those rights. Okay? >> Cuz I just I don't want to make things any worse than >> No, no, you don't have to talk anymore. It's it's >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> You're not going to hurt my feelings. I do this for a living, so >> I mean, cuz no matter what, I I'm going to go to jail, is that right? >> Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, this is a warrant for your arrest, and so um I like I said, I didn't get the warrant. I'm just the investigator, so I I mean, I was involved in watching the video, but I wasn't involved in the paperwork here. Give me just a minute and I will get you taken over there, okay? >> Okay. Thank you. >> Mhm. >> Mr. Fields? Mr. Fields? >> The 13-year-old was referred to juvenile probation rather than placed in a juvenile detention facility. Investigators later obtained video showing his mother driving him to meet with a convicted felon and handing over the stolen firearm. The man was also taken into custody. She was arrested on a warrant and charged with receiving stolen property, a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, resisting, invading, or obstructing an officer, and conspiracy to commit CA with no or great bodily harm.
