and even more seem to find joy in it he knocked out her he ain't dead is he but she is [Laughter] here are several instances when cops celebrate after someone starting with the sad case of Tony timer a schizophrenic who had called officers for help but met a sad End by the hands of those same Law Enforcement Officers no help me don't do don't do okay I'm down I'm down I'm down pleas you want twist occurred due to him not taking his medication and ingesting illegal narcotics not knowing what else to do he called the police for help but that decision turned out to be the worst of his life because their actions just cost a man his life you think we have any idea I have no idea hey Sergeant sergeant was that his driver's license yeah how old is he 84 3284 oh he was born in 84 3 just 30 all right um what y want to swipe out two coppers get out okay you got it want go to par eventually in September 2023 a jury found three officers liable for Tony's wrongful death and awarded his son the sum of 1 million this followed a December 2021 decision allowing The Temper family to go to trial earlier in 2020 a civil lawsuit was dismissed due to qualified immunity and criminal charges against the officers were dropped in 2019 moving on to the case of Officer Daniel Ura who laughed when he found out his colleague officer Kevin Dave ran over student janavi kandula on a crosswalk but she is $111,000 she was 26 anyway she had limited value on January the 24th 2023 officer Kevin Dave was responding to an emergency and driving over the speed limit but failed to put his sirens on and unfortunately Ely ran into an janavi kandula a college student Kevin called his colleague for help and they engaged in quite the disturbing conversation 3 Mar 2 start supervisor start fire for a struck pedestrian while speaking about the case to an official officer Daniel Ura said the most insensitive and heartless things ever initially uh he said she was in a crosswalk uh there's a witness that says no she wasn't but that witness could be different because I don't think she was thrown 40 ft either uh I think she went up on the hood hit the windshield then when he hit the brakes flew off the car but she [Laughter] is no it's a regular person yeah yeah just write a check just what $111,000 she was 26 anyway she had limited value in the end the prosecutor's office decided against filing criminal charges against Kevin Dave because the criminal review did not turn up enough evidence to prove Beyond a reasonable doubt that Dave had acted with recklessness or criminal negligence as required under Washington state law however odora was suspended and later fired for the controversial statement that he had made next is the case of these officers who ended the lives of a man's pit dogs for fun yeah on March the 2nd 2024 officers responded to a disturbance caused by by pet dogs belonging to two neighbors he claimed that a neighbor's dogs were barking at his son's dog and causing a disturbance as the police got to the scene they loaded their immediately one would think they were going to take down an armed robber not three little dogs the police found that the dogs had already left the scene so they went to look for them but even after a witness had said they weren't aggressive the officers were held bent on finding them and use them for some sport we lost track them I'm not sure where they went to uh but they and then they were trying to get those dogs down there yeah cuz there's two or three dogs down there and they have a couple up but they're F okay yeah they're in this area running around they came down to this property down here um yeah they were on the Canal bank earlier today my wife saw them walking and they weren't crazy aggressive but she felt a little uncomfortable she just walked back home so they've been walking up they must have they could have been dumped but they're yours though oh oh on the phone you told me they were yours no I had two does here they're just buen retriever in a little I don't know they're uncolored yeah so that usually tells me that they were properly dropped okay then how do you hook them up right if yeah we let animal uh control know but they're not being aggressive anymore and they went that way well they don't look crazy aggressive though you know okay if we could get down in the canel if we could get him down in looking for the second they're looking for the in the end the third dog escaped to another County while the officers labeled him dangerous the owners of the dogs eventually pressed charges against the cops for unlawfully ending the lives of their pets moving on to the sad case of Lisa Edwards a 61-year-old woman who was arrested but eventually lost her life at the hands of some nonchalant cops I'm talking you're you've been medically clear man this is not going to work not going on February the 5th 2023 officers responded to a call from Fort Sanders Hospital regarding a patient named Lisa who was discharged that morning but refused to leave they asked you to leave didn't they did the hospital ask you to leave no they said they want you to leave you got to leave though they want you gone no they want you gone no I can't I can't even get you can't get where huh you can't get to where I can't get back up there they don't want you back up there they want you to leave their property they want you to leave their property ma'am I can I what I don't know what to do BU you got to go somewhere what I they beat me up well I don't who beat you up in there and there's three Nur so the people in the hospital beat you up last night they did they well they said they want you gone so you got to go this is their property get out here you going to have to figure something out cuz ain't no need out she got discharged rather and she doesn't have anywhere to go she's like just call the police I a going she was discharged from so she don't have anything wrong with it she's coming out her ankle shattered and she can't walk she she's already been discharged she's already been cleared by the doctor just want all right all right let's see if we can coax her in the leading how long she been here to do that I may the 19th 2024 an officer was patrolling a tree line when he encountered a blind and deaf Shih Tzu roaming on the field the officer noticed it was struggling due to an injury and tried see how he responds all right eventually there were no charges pressed against the officer much to the dismay of the dog owner who has said he will press charges against the city for the loss of his dog moving on to these officers who unlawfully a guy who they pulled over for a DUI get off of me dude a that's a little hard a on a fateful night officers stopped a suspected drunk driver and proceeded to search him they had found a legal narcotics hidden in his socks and claimed that the man started resisting after that the officers had also claimed that the man began them so they had to retaliate [Applause] [Music] no [Music] quitting stop it get off of me dude hey give me one person right here all this dope edn the suspect was then taken to the hospital where the officers laughed at the injuries they inflicted on him yeah which way oh he a that's a little hard doc said don't put him back just wrap his head up wrap set yeah draws blood y oh yeah screw yep yeah it was quite yep it was good effort oh very good that [Music] hey how are you good to see you happens I know a how bad is it most that was the first time for some reason he thought he TR the second the second one probably was from the door bet that's what I think keep your head down you got to be a man man man up it was eventually revealed through surveillance footage that the man was was not resisting or attacking the officers as they were only shown beating the man to a pulp the officers were placed on administrative leave and were rebuked by the chief of police still on the topic of unlawful here's Karen Garner a 73-year-old woman suffering from dementia who was wrongfully by a police officer let's stop come on come on I'm going home you were good had handled if it was a big dude it have been different on June the 26th 2020 Karen Garner was walking down the road when an officer pulled up behind her a store had falsely reported her for shoplifting unaware that she had simply forgotten to pay for a few items due to her dementia the store staff had already retrieved the items and sent her on her way before calling the police when the officer approached Karen her dementia made it difficult for her to understand him as he began to walk away seemingly oblivious to the officer's attempts to communicate he became agitated and took drastic action all right let's stop ma'am I don't think you want to play it this way ma'am please stop you want to stop lights on siren stop you just left Walmart do you need to be arrested right now no no no okay let's stop come on come on I'm going pulling away from me and stuff like that so I just by myself so we went to the ground we struggled and rolled for a little bit um I see that yeah yeah and then I got her detained she showed up while I had her up against the car cuz I couldn't get her in the car and right all that stuff once they got to the police station the officers opted to carry her in and blatantly ignored the fact that she was crying out in pain hey you got the door open come on Karen I'm going to run you're going to run oh good thing we got the hot you guys grab her arms yep we got her ouch that's okay we got you we got __ ] in the end Karen's family filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Loveland and several police officers alleging excessive force failure to provide medical care and violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act the lawsuit led to a public outcry investigations and eventual disciplinary actions against the officers involved including resignations charges and prison sentences the city eventually settled the Civil laws suit for $3 million and the officers fac consequences for their actions bringing some measure of accountability and Justice to Ghana and her family next we have this police officer who wrongfully arrested a young man and left him with serious injuries you imch a description of someone trying to break into people's cars um I'm not breaking anyone's car I mean hopefully this is the guy at this point man I just saw legs go up I'm like ho on March the 4th 2022 an officer responded to a dispatch's call who suspected a man of trying to break into Vehicles once he found a guy who matched the description the officer didn't bother to verify before taking dramatic and unnecessary measures let me see your hands let me see your hands take your hands out your the end it was determined that the man was not guilty of breaking into cars but was charged with obstruction even after being wrongfully detained it was also determined that due to the body slam he had fractured bones and a ruptured eardrum which resulted in a $75,000 medical bill for which the officers were sued next is the case of these police police officers who arrest a man for no reason at all coming out come on come on come on come on you think you're a tough guy on February the 17th 2018 officers got into a spat with Gustavo Alvarez in his own home for doing absolutely nothing at all the encounter was very disturbing as the officers were anything but ethical but why' you chase me down if you know it was it was me for sure was that I'm asking you you know I was me the driver you know for sure that was me hey I'm asking one more time no hey do you know I was the driver okay this is the you're not answering me you're not answering me I want you to come over to my car right now I'm over here I'm in my house so you're going to do anything about it you have a warrant to you you're legally detained you're running away why Gustavo why you going to detain me for what cuz I know you're driving with a suspended license popped out of this car when I saw but you Chas me down who you know was driving I didn't I why you Chas me down you know you guys Chas me up I'm not coming down inside can't do that we're going inventory releas anything so for and him were defying the police so and they you were inside you can't do that that's why no not you okay Gustavo and him we're telling the police to go away you can't do that so we kick the door and we have every right to do that that is the problem with him for defying the police so we you could charge him with a crime too but we're not going to do that he can just go fix his door and that can be his punishment cannot defy the police okay but he's very lucky he's not going to jail he should be going to jail you want go inside me no we don't need a warrant the the crime occurred with the officer watching it we don't need a warrant to come inside not tonight and so if he wants to play those games that's why the door got broken so he he needs to get a little smarter here because like I said he's very lucky he's not going to jail okay this isn't play time in the end Gustavo was eventually released after which he sued the police department and got over $500,000 as settlement for damages
