on May 30th 2024 at approximately 4:07 p.m. oakw police were dispatched to Marshalls on a report of a shoplifting that took place upon arrival the suspect had already left and boarded a local bus here is what occurred 6 silver can you just the very last number Central 321 looks like he got on the bus I'll be stopping at 95 and KNX on the Bus St at 95 andx we have the bus number 6496 [Applause] 6496 bring all your stuff or all Marshall stuff only all right man so go ahead and put your stuff down so here's the deal I I they're they're pretty heated over there they're pretty heated I want to help you out as best as I can but I need you to be honest with me yes so they're telling me this is like yourth number time doing this all right what let's start with honesty how much did you take cuz I want to be able to say yes he was honest this is what he took versus them saying you took a 10 more time stuff I I took just the the quein art the two queas and arts that's it yes all this stuff is already said you're honest you're being honest with me completely I've made that clear to the other officer um they're either going to say Hey listen we want our crap back we want him to get a ticket or they're going to say hey we want our crap back we want him arrest so we we as the police really have to do whatever they want but I'm going to certainly tell them you were honest with me okay how many times you I I ran your criminal history it's called how many times have You' been arrested for this this is this one this is this the ones but them telling me that you've done this a whole bunch of times they're making it up honestly uh I had an issue with the security guard he stopped me he Ser me okay told him this wasn't draw stuff said go ahead so in the past there was a misunderstanding or something okay man I asked you how many times my my dispatch just told me you've been arrested for larsy before stealing no sir no they just told me not Lars yeah that's what they just told me larsy stealing no sir stealing man not L okay I would like I said I'm not trying to stand here tell you your business it's your business that's just what what attached to your criminal history man so all right we're just going to hang out I know it sucks to be kind of like in the middle of no middle of open people staring at you got it 202 oning 23 do they what 95 okay all right go ahead and put jammed up for a little bit of weed on you or something silly a pocket knife anything like that on you right now okay I'm going to search you and then my partner's going to search you when we get in my car okay go ahead separate your feet for me please again I only care about pocket knives Bazookas I mean is is it possible to uh that I can talk to the security guard and see oh so they've already other officer that you just met he is the what we call the arresting officer I'm just transporting you so I I I would say let's be a let's do Blank Slate with him when he asks you about stuff with your history just be honest with him um your criminal history is saying you've done this before again I'm not trying to you cuz it's your life you know you were the one there not me I just what our computer system is saying 392 so those other two smaller bags you had or maybe it was just one bag that's your property you're saying right is that correct Mr Hampton okay let me make sure cuz I want our uh I want to make sure our officer brings that back I'm sorry I'm I I can't hear it can you speak a little bit Yeah okay give me one second man uh 21 from 31 uh he's just saying the stuff in the two smaller bags is his personal property could you just confirm that he's concerned to make sure he gets it back all right I just told I'm not sure if you can hear me I know this kind of it blocks a lot of my what I can hear I just told the other officer to make sure that stuff is your property it gets back to you going to the oakw police station so the officer has to write up some paperwork because you are under arrest for retail theft and he's going to give you a trespass warning which means if you go back there you'll be arrested for trespass and I'm sure you have no desire to go back there so don't worry I'm sorry so as if I I no right now this is just something where you get released tonight you're are going to have a court date that's very important you go to the only thing that would change that is if you have some kind of warrants or something but no one has said anything about that to me so you're going to probably be out in about an hour just really important you don't go
