We just don't have nowhere to go. >> He doesn't have any clothing on and it's raining and chilly outside right now. >> I smoked a little bit of earlier, I guess. >> This officer Pearson is kind of concerning to me, okay? >> What the [ __ ] am I supposed to do? I've been to the crazy place, I've been to the I've been to jail. >> On August 24th, 2025, an officer found a woman walking near a bus stop with her 2-year-old daughter who was without proper clothing in the rain. The little girl was later found to be in visibly poor condition. I'm Jack and this is Unpopular. >> Hello, officer Pearson, Albuquerque Police Department. How are you doing? >> All right. Yeah. I mean, my life is connected to the military, but I guess it's a bunch of >> Can you tell me a little bit about what's going on? >> We just don't have nowhere to go. >> Do you want any resources or anything like that? >> No, I've been handed all of them. Now, I'm helpless. >> So, right now I'm concerned just because he doesn't have any clothing on and it's raining and chilly outside right now. Can I get your name? >> Jessica. >> All right, hang tight for me one second, okay? And what's the little guy's name? >> Avery. >> Avery? Okay. So, where are you coming from right now, Jessica? >> I'm coming from, I guess, my dad, boyfriend, ex, brother, mom, sister, I don't even know. >> Okay. >> Uh somebody who's like all my relatives and like person or something. >> Okay. Um have you been under the influence of any alcoholic today? >> Uh no, I smoked a little bit of earlier, I guess. >> Okay. About what time would you say? >> Uh what time is it now? >> All right, now it's going to be about almost 5:00 in the morning. >> Uh probably like 12:00. >> Midnight or >> Midnight. >> About midnight, okay. Um were you hanging out with anybody when you did that? >> Um just like I said, like my fake family or something. >> Your fake family, okay. Do you know if they're still there right now? Do you feel safe going over there? >> Um sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. They switch. The people like I don't like they just don't give a >> Do you feel safe going there right now? >> I'm not supposed to go back over there. I don't know what I did. I didn't have or something. >> All righty, right now my main concern is Avery. >> Uh-huh. >> And making sure Avery's not out in this weather, okay? Um Can you tie for me a second? >> Okay. >> So, I was just coming down this way and I like saw her and she had a baby with no shirt on. So, I flipped back around, made two fives, and she said she was messing around at like midnight. She said she can't go back to the house that she's at because her family, brother, and cousins or whatever they're like all put into one person's body. So, she can't go back like weird statements like that. And so, she said she doesn't feel safe going back and then she said she couldn't go back because she did something wrong and just kind of making 1040 statements right now. >> Did you reach out to your sergeant yet? >> No, no. >> Okay, cuz it sounds like you're going to have to call C Y 2. Okay, we're going to have to at least, you know, take custody of the kid probably and probably end up taking her to the substation of C Y 2 and wait for a police worker. >> So, she's going to end up having to go to a hospital. >> So, double-check with your sergeant first and see if you can give him the lowdown and see if that's something cuz I mean this is going to be a delicate situation because of you being with them. >> I'll check after I see if I can get a different story. >> Okay. >> Call him with the number that you have and if we get anything different, we'll we'll update you. And we'll just figure it out after that. I mean, he'll probably give you the rundown and we'll just go off of what whatever he wants for you that way. >> All right, so she's What did you do uh yesterday? >> Uh we don't really do a whole lot. Kind of sit around. >> Um how old is Avery? >> Uh she's two. >> Two? >> Yeah. >> Um can I get her date of birth? >> Yeah. >> Does she talk yet? >> Uh yeah, she talks. >> Yeah? >> Yes. >> How long have you been out here for? >> Um we just like walked over here. >> Okay. >> Now, uh Does she need a snack or anything right now? >> Uh no, I think she's good. Thank you, though. >> Yeah, of course. >> We're just going to make some phone calls and stuff, figure out what's going on, okay? >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to tell you my concern right now, and it's late, it's kind of chilly out, you're out with baby. Uh just some of the stuff you're saying is kind of concerning, okay? I I'm going to be >> You're telling me. I have to live it every day for the past eight years, but I Like I said, what am I supposed to do? I've been to the crazy place, I've been to and I've been to jail. And I don't know what else to do. >> Well, and I'm going to work with you to make sure that we we can come to a solution, okay? Together. I'll be here through the entire process just so we can figure out what's going on and how we can resolve this situation. >> Okay. >> What was that? >> Huh? >> What was that? >> Oh, sorry. I just heard something hit you. >> Have you been diagnosed with any mental illnesses at all? >> No, just uh cirrhosis or something like that. >> Cirrhosis? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Who was that from? >> From what? >> Have you lived in Albuquerque your whole life? >> Yeah. >> Yeah? We were talking about the military earlier. Did you serve at all? >> No. >> No. >> No, my grandpa did. >> Do you know if dad's in the picture at all? >> I don't know. I don't know what I'm just crazy old lady. >> Who is it that makes you crazy? Does he see her often or >> Uh yeah, he sees her every day. >> Every day? Okay. Do you guys live together? >> Yeah. >> Does anybody else live there with you guys? >> Yeah, there's uh my cousins and then uh my cousin's brother-in-law. >> How long have you guys lived there for? >> Well, they they lived there forever. As far as I know, 25 years at least. >> Does anybody else live in the home? >> I don't know. >> We're just trying to figure this situation out. We have to contact CYFD. That's where we're at right now. So, if you just continue to be cool with us, we'll continue to be cool with you. >> Okay. >> Now, I know you're not under arrest, but would you mind if we do pat down here. Do you have any weapons on you or anything? >> No. >> Do you have any on you right now? >> No, no. >> Okay, I'm just going to do a quick pat down. Just face face the car for me, okay? Now, you're not under arrest, I'm just grabbing your arms just for just for a little control, okay? But that's that's all. Uh what's what's in this pocket? >> Uh wrapper. >> What type of wrapper? >> Uh wrapper from her chips. >> Is it garbage? >> Yeah. >> Okay, I'm just going to just get out and just throw it away, okay? I really appreciate that. Just to make sure just for your safety and ours, just so >> everybody's comfortable, okay? You don't have to put that on right now. We're not going to be moving. We're not we're not moving anywhere. >> Okay. >> You doing okay right now? >> Oh, yeah. >> All righty. We're just waiting for some people to come over here. We're going to have a crime scene specialist. They're just going to come out and take some photos and then we're going to go from there, okay? >> Okay. >> And you're saying Joanna is at the house right now? >> Uh yeah, I think so. Possibly that >> Okay. Was she there last night? >> I don't even chat. She was there I think so. >> When's the last time you saw her though? >> Yesterday morning. >> Yesterday morning? Does she go to school at all? >> I think she'd be going to school. >> Do you know about what time she goes to school? >> I remember going to school at 8:45. >> Does she walk to school or >> I know he said he took her on the first day, but then he came back with her, so >> She could be at school or just around. >> Yeah. >> Does she hang out at the house a lot or does she kind of just do her own thing? >> Uh she kind of just does her own thing since we like I said like we things are kind of crazy. >> Yeah, I get you. We'll check back in in a little bit, okay? Thank you for your patience with us, okay? So, I guess she's saying that her daughter goes to Valley. She was like the last time I saw her was yesterday morning. But Joanna went >> So, she hasn't come back to that house? >> She said she hasn't checked. She was like she should be at the house though, but the CYFD workers going to check and see if she's placed with somebody else and she might just be like >> Okay. >> saying that she likes >> Well, she I mean she could have seen her, but she didn't stay at with her. >> Yeah. So, she's going to come out and do do interview. She wants someone to go with her to get a U T and a drug screen. I think if you want dispatch to see if there's a day shift clinical to go. >> Okay. >> I thought that's >> She said she should be done by six. >> What do you want? They want us to transport them home and they want make sure she's okay and >> She said if she's there then they'll try to get a 72 on her as well. >> I don't want her there either. >> Oh, so she's not in custody? >> No. So, they Oh my god. They actually took her to be back when you were on the phone. And I guess placement or permanency just didn't close our case out. That girl is over there most likely. I know. >> Detective, if she's there she definitely wants her added onto the 72. >> I agree with you. I agree with them. >> And hopefully she'll be done here soon, but I think you guys might be good to head to the hospital now. Uh I'm going to sit here and she's going to do her interview with her first. >> The woman was arrested and charged with one count of CA.
