On February 1st, 2023, police detectives responded to an incident originating in another town. What started as a local investigation quickly escalated into a tense encounter requiring immediate police intervention. Here are the events that occurred. Just an update, we are investigating that residential burglary and the stolen credit cards were used and then the suspect passed the store while we were getting video of him using it. So basically we're getting video. We get video of the suspects. We go to the next location to get video of them using the stolen car the cards again. The one kid in the stolen car handed off our victim from the residential burglary's credit card to him. He goes in and he runs it in the store. While we're watching, he walks right past the store cuz he said, "Oh, these guys frequent here." The store is telling us. While we run by, we see him. So we jump out with him. ID ourselves. I have my body cam on. I'm like uh this is what We go to read him his rights and he just takes off. So we foot pursue him. We're down like a block and a half. And then uh he tried to ditch a bunch of crack. So we got him for the the use of the the victim's credit card, the possession of CDS, resisting by flight, and then Chris like destroyed his knees, but we'll go ahead and check that at headquarters by an ambulance. Yeah, he's good. He just tore his pants apart. But we're we're we're all good now. As soon as we get a cage car, we'll be out of here. No, we're bringing him back to us. All right. We He gives us his ID and all of a sudden he looks at us and just boom, and he's out. At least he ran before he gave the ID. Yeah, that was He's pretty fast, though. Put that in the car. I don't know what we were Well you're getting charged with the credit card fraud, you're getting charged with resisting my flight, you're getting charged with the possession of crack cocaine, and I don't know what's going to happen yet but my partner's meeting but you might get charged with aggravated assault. The encounter ultimately concluded when detectives placed the suspect under arrest. The individual was subsequently charged with obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, eluding, and possession of a schedule one controlled dangerous substance.
