On July 17th, 2023, police in Illinois reported to a domestic disturbance call where a father was refusing to let his baby daughter go with her mom during a custodial dispute. Here are the events that occurred. Tango 77 back out with Buck party. >> Do you need more units? >> What happened? >> She's going to get She got a restraining order and there's no way she got a restraining order till I get served. There >> is a restrain order. >> Oh, I know. Well, can I get my my property and my my ride's going to be here and then I'll deal with with the outcome with taking my daughter? >> What property? >> I have I have my my duffel bag, my and my my PlayStation's in there and my clothes is all in there. It's at the front door. You want to sit there? I come back here to start problems for what? >> You need it? >> I need it. It's my stuff. >> I just want my stuff. I want my daughter and I'm gone. She can go up on her business. She came back for for no reason. Lock me out the house again. copy a child. >> She locked you out? >> Yeah. Now she's saying that she got a restraining order. There's no restraining order until I get served. >> Yeah. So that's She's in inside the house now. But left her kids inside the car. Tell the end of the danger. >> Uh hang out over here. >> I'm just going to walk off and go to the metro. You don't want any I want my stuff. That's all I want for my So then just hang out here with me. Why do you think we're back here? Worried about him. >> Let him go talk to her. Just stay over here. I know, but stay over here with me so that I can keep you guys separated. >> She's not going to see my daughter till I go to court. Simple. >> Well, you know how I explained that to you. >> I know. I'll I'll I'll deal with consequences. >> I can't change so I can go head to the courthouse >> and do what I have to do. >> He tried to start with me. I just closed the door. I locked it. I changed into my different shorts and I'm going to go do what I have to do. He got his mother and his baby mother calling me, threatening me on my phone. So, I blocked their calls off my phone. >> Yeah, you can also see um if it comes to it by adding them to their order. >> That's exactly why I was taking off because I knew he was going to call them and have them harass me and try and leave with my child. I really don't want to be difficult, but as a mother, I'm I'm I'm going to fight for my child the right way. >> I understand. I don't know if that's the right way. The way that it's the order of protection. I only did it, like I said, because I don't want him to call people and take off from my daughter. >> I understand. And I understand. >> I don't I I just I don't know. I already I already filed and I screenshotted my stuff. So, as soon as they open, I'm going to go sign the >> the petition. >> Okay. Um, it sounds like he wants to take off from here. >> Yeah, with my daughter. And how do you expect me to just stand here and be okay with that? I can't. >> Well, that again, that's why we haven't left. But ultimately at someone's going to have to get >> He said he was going to stay here and be cordial and I was doing that and he won't sit there and disrespect me. And do you see him smoking with my daughter? like that is not okay. The things that he's doing is not okay. >> I understand. >> It's It's really not. >> I understand that. But >> my daughter was just born. >> I understand that. >> So, what what can we all do collectively to come up with? >> He's not trying He's just trying to be ignorant. >> I I don't I'm I don't know. I did what I had to do on my end. >> Okay. I'm I'm waiting for them to open. They open at 8 so I can go sign the petition. >> Are you going to take off back right now again? >> Why should I have to leave my residence? >> You don't have to. I'm just asking. >> I'm staying out the way. I did not say nothing to him. I didn't try taking the baby from him or anything. >> I never >> I'm I'm letting whatever be and I like I said, I'm taking care of what I have to take care of my >> he can do whatever he needs to do. Whatever he wants to do, that's fine. I'm going to my child and I'm going to do what I have to do. He's disrespecting me and I still >> uh do you want me to take him? >> Yeah, you can take my stuff. >> I'm sorry. >> So, if I go over there, my daughter, y'all can sit there and tell me something, but y'all can't sit there and tell her, right? Can you make it make sense? Here's what it becomes. >> That's what I'm trying to understand. So, >> it becomes a very very difficult situation when there is a mutual mutual child in copy, which is it's this is your guys' baby. No law enforcement officers that I know >> will ever force the hands out of a parent >> a kid and give to the other parents or vice versa. So >> my child is in danger. >> He's the dad >> and my child is in danger. >> How is she I'm sorry. How is she in danger? The people he's going with, the place where he's taking my daughter is not okay. The people that come and pick him up are either drunk and high. So, you expect me as a mother to let allow that and not fight for it? >> I don't. I expect both you guys to fight for custody of your baby girl? hours. That is why we've been here for hours and didn't leave because we are worried too. >> Like I wouldn't mind it if I knew she was safe. But in reality, she's not. >> We are. >> And how am I just going to let my child go? >> That is why we haven't left. We have been here for hours and we didn't leave. >> And I left. I pulled down. And I was shooting at the gas station for a while. Came filled out the order of protection. Came and changed so I can go do what I have to do. I even forgot to get my kids my kids shoot. >> Yeah, I understand. I understand. And uh >> cuz I can't take the kids to the courthouse and they'll shoot. >> Then he got his mother calling me threatening me. She's going to call DCFS because I'm doing stupid [ __ ] What stupid [ __ ] am I doing? talking there. I'm not doing anything for >> nothing at all. >> He always wants to lie and make up stories for what? Like that's sickening. >> I get >> nothing matters here. He doesn't matter. I don't matter. The child matters. The safety of the child. >> I agree. And that is why we are here. >> Just because I don't see eye to eye. >> That's why my supervisor is back here. >> Because we don't see eye to eye. Because our relationship doesn't work doesn't mean his relationship with his daughter is not going to work. >> Right? >> I allow all my father my child's father should be in their life and see them. I wouldn't take the babies from him, but I'm not going to allow this at this time. It's not okay. >> I guess >> I told him, "Let's go to court together. We can be civil. We can be cordial. I can be cool with you. I'm a cool ass babe mama. Same with my baby daddies." I have no problems with my baby daddies. only him because he always his narcissistic ways. He always it's either his way or the highway and he sits there and lies about stuff and that's not okay. >> Yeah. >> At all. And I told him, "Let's go to court together. Father's rights. I'm all for it." >> I'm all for it. I want you to be a part of your daughter. I I don't understand and see what the issue is. >> I I really don't. >> I agree. So, fast forward, you guys get a court order and then the court order gives you guys 50/50 custody. Wherever he's going, wherever he's doing, if there's if there is a 50/50 court custody court order, your baby girl is going to be wherever he's doing during his lot of time, just like she she'll be with you, whatever you guys are doing on your a lot of time. I mean, so I and the same arguments that you're making, he's making, that's why we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Ultimately, what we wanted to see is for her to stay here, whether anybody >> he's not doing it. He was >> and I was minding my business and he has people calling my phone. >> They didn't have their other numbers >> the complainant out with the subject. >> All right. So, like I said, ice cream. >> Also, can I get my bag with the my daughter's clothes and stuff? >> Let him get further from the caller. Like, it would be her [ __ ] phone on the west side of the street. >> He's also going to be >> She's psychotic. >> Medics are in route. >> She has issues. She needs to see a therapist, psychiatrist, everything. >> Well, that's why I'm hoping both of you guys talk to Cadia so that you guys can >> try to work it out. >> There ain't no restraining order. I know that for a fact. Order of protection. We haven't seen anything. >> There's nothing. And it's not going to be in in in in file in motion until until I get served. >> I know how that goes cuz I already done did it with my other day. Mama, >> we do too. [laughter] >> We've done it before. >> She can go about her day, live her life with her kids. >> I agree. >> So, I'm not doing that. She's going to sit there and threaten me. And with all this, I'm I know how stuff works. I know. Make >> me like a like I'm dumb. >> Make sure that you do remember that the state recognizes her. >> Oh, I know. >> As the custodial parent >> I deal with the entire NC uh proper proper paperwork and everything of order protection and >> Well, she doesn't she doesn't need an order of protection in order to be considered the custodial parent in the state office. >> No, I'm not giving up my child. Sorry. Okay. I'm just telling you I deal with the consequences. Yes, I understand. >> Okay. I don't want you to have any more on your plate than you already do is all I'm trying to avoid. Oh, she's got her [laughter] little hand up. Were you able to get a hold of anybody to get you a ride? >> Yes, my answer. >> So, you clearly know see I'm the problem. She still want to come back here. She has no reason to come back here. But what did you need for in the first place? >> I don't know. >> If I was able to get in people's brains, my job would be a lot easier. >> Do you ever see this to where you guys could just peacefully co-parent with one another? >> I totally from 30 local. Do we ever ask to Sunday and we will come pick her up? We don't want to do that. >> Have you Have you guys ever been married? We just got We just had got our certificate. >> But you guys haven't been legally married. >> You guys never actually statewide local >> 30. They have never been legally buried. >> She ripped up. I'm sorry. >> No, you're fine. >> She ripped up the certificate and everything. Okay. >> Three left. Hango. >> Hang. >> Do you ever like I get right now obviously it doesn't seem like it, but do you think you guys will ever be able to just >> I tried to try my hardest. I'm hurt. >> Okay. Well, >> he tells the other child's father to go kill your [ __ ] self. Like, how do you tell somebody that? >> How can you even wish death upon somebody? >> Yeah. Like you telling somebody to go kill the brings memories of my brothers. >> That's that's tragic. Not everybody not everybody has the balls to sit there to do something like that in life. >> It takes some it takes somebody with a a cold heart to sit there and kill themselves. >> Yeah. >> Like they found my brother dead literally in front of a church >> that where he would try to go and ask for forgiveness at the church and he thought that the doors the doors that he went to were locked. He thought the church church was closed but it wasn't. >> Oh no. >> The doors were open. >> Like his final signing. He >> couldn't do that. They even the priest came outside and said, "Hey, look, we're leaving cool comic collector until you guys." >> No, not even that. >> It's like she just wants the attention. I don't know what she's what she wants from me. I don't have much to offer. >> Yeah. >> I try to give her my all and me giving her my all is like she's just taking it and running with it. Yeah. We're in a good place. What happened? >> It's [ __ ] She come came back again, locked me out the house again. >> Okay. Okay. >> I went next door to go. >> All of her kids are still in the van. >> Okay. >> I went next door to go use the cell phone to get a ride. >> Okay. >> And I'll take stuff into my own hands and if I have to sit there and deal with the consequences, I'll deal with the consequences, but I really don't want to be I didn't want to don't want to be around. >> Totally understand. So, Melo, after we parted ways, right, I deep dived it because I I want to I want to work with you guys and I want to help you out because I think perhaps you're trying to do the right thing and be a good father to your child. That's all I want to do. Okay, Mel, I want you to hear me and I don't want I don't want to argue. I just want you to understand that I am looking out for your veteran's best interest whether you believe me or not. >> Go for 30. Okay. right now with the child. >> Yeah. >> Without her permission to be taken into custody for child abduction. And what happens then? What happens then? That >> makes no sense. >> But what happens then? But but here's the thing. I don't want to do that. I really really don't want to do that because here's what >> we're going to have to we're going to have to go we're going to have to go through that. We're going to have to go through that. I'm not I'm not This is what happens. This is what happens. That is a complete roadblock to you getting custody of your child. You don't want to do that. That's what I'm trying to explain to you, man. Do this the right way so you get the right to do the right way. I gave you to do it. She's not trying to co-arent. She's not trying to do court. >> No, no, no, no. If If you can't co-arent with her, which that's obvious, right? That's clear that we're not going to be able to do that. The right way is to go the legal route so that you don't end up with a [ __ ] charge that's going to prevent you from seeing your kid. That's what I'm trying to tell you. I I'll go all out for mine. I do that. I have nothing to live for. >> I am not >> I'm telling you the honest truth. I don't have [ __ ] to live for. >> I am not here to debate whether or not your ride or die for your child. I'm sure you are. But what happens if you do get arrested then you can't see your child? What happens then? Or if you are hurt or dead or whatever the case may be and you can't see your child dead, what does that do for you? >> Either way, you're going to be left without a father. >> No, that's not that's not the jail. Left without a father. today. It doesn't have to go that way though. >> That's the thing. If you do this the right way, we're going to have to do it. We're going have to As soon as I put in If >> That's my honest That's my honest answer. >> If you do this the right way, none of it has to go down that way. >> All right. >> And you have just as much rights as her then. >> We want you to have rights. >> No, we're going to have to do it. I'm telling you. >> Please don't do it. >> Honestly, I'm telling you the honest truth. I'm telling you. >> Who's going to pick you up? >> My My auntson. >> Your auntson's going to pick you up? Melo. >> No. I'm >> Please don't force my hand. >> We're going to have to do it. >> Please don't force my hand. >> I'm honestly telling you, you're going to have to do it. >> 30. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Tango 30. I think that's going to have to hold for this. I ain't got nothing. >> Melo man, come on. Work with me. >> I'm not working with nobody. I have nothing to do it that way. >> I'm sorry to tell you. I have no less in me. I'm honestly telling you. >> Do it for yourself. Don't do it for me. Do it for yourself. >> I'm not doing it for myself either. I'm sorry. I can't. But I have to take the charge. >> Why do you want to go that way? >> Yeah, that's the route I want to go. >> That's not going to help you with your other child either, though. >> I don't I don't want >> That's 2 and 1/2 years. What is What is another six, seven years? But what about Huh? What's it six seven years to her? >> What I'm saying is you continue that road. I'm sorry to tell you. >> What I'm saying is you you can continue to see her. >> Melo Tango 30. Let me have another location. Turn. >> I do not. >> There's dad. There's no talking. >> I do not want to arrest you. those guys have to do. >> No, cuz this I don't have to do this. >> Question. Just go go that route. That's it. That's all. >> No, I want you to have the same amount of she has. >> There's no there's no there's no equal rights here. >> There can be. >> But you are going to sacrifice all those rights if you get arrested to arrest me. That's it. That's all I hear. >> Come down and uh hang out with >> We're not going to do this easily. We're not going to do this the hard way. >> I don't want to hear it to be honest with you. I'm tired of [ __ ] talking and running my dumb. But here's the deal. So, my supervisor does just brief me on what's going on. Um, look, I know the equal rights seems it doesn't come in until once a court order is in effect until you guys hold the courts. It might not seem that seemed or fair or that it's equal. I can understand that as a man. However, that is the law of this land. That is the law in Illinois. That's what the lawmakers have decided in Illinois is that for the time being is the parental rights are siding with her. Don't ask me why. >> But Carmelo, >> I'm not talking anymore. I'm trying to talk. >> We But hear me out, man. >> I've been hearing everybody out. Everybody trying to hear me out. >> We I want to hear you out, but we have to >> go with whatever the law says. >> So, not my daughter. I'm sorry. you if I don't want this to happen, but if you got yourself arrested, >> my man, that's something that she can use against you. >> I don't care. >> You should care. You have to look. You have to look at big picture right now. >> I honestly don't care. You guys can do what you guys have to do. That's it. That's all. >> You have to look big picture right now. >> Ain't no pictures. >> Big picture. Long term. >> I don't want to tell. >> You get arrested right now, she's going to be using that against you for years to come. 18 years. That's fine with me. They shouldn't shoot him. >> I don't care at this point. I don't care what you guys do. You guys wonder not giving up my daughter. If not the only way you guys I'm going to give her you guys put me in handcuffs and take me in. They take me in. That's it. I'm not >> Oh my gosh. Nobody wants to do that. >> And I'm telling you, >> do you do you >> want a ride to the courthouse to go try to start talking to a family court? As long as my daughter's in my possession, then yes, I will. Other than that, I won't do nothing. >> Once even once a court process goes through your daughter, it's going to be in both of you guys possession. It's going to be 50/50, right? >> Yeah. >> So, regardless, what are we accomplishing right now? >> I don't care what you guys are doing. As soon as my bike gets here, I attempt to put her in the car. You guys not going to do this. What are we talking about? Deep down in my heart, I'm telling you the honesty coming from me as a man. As a man, I don't care. I honestly do. >> I mean, all of tonight, you've shown that you care. You've shown that you care tremendously. >> I'm not going to do this. She wants to go do it. Just got to do this with the press charger. I'm not doing that. >> What's up? >> What does she think? >> She's saying that he does not have permission to take her child. So, what's that? That's where we're at. The driver's get up the car want to go. >> I don't want you to make a rash decision right now that could potentially affect you for 18 years. >> I don't care. >> So, I understand your frustration. That's valid. It's valid. >> I don't I don't care. I don't care about nothing right now. >> What we're trying to do is >> 23. >> I'm trying to talk to you. >> Talk some sense. >> No sense. >> That's what I want to do. That's what I'm trying to do. >> You guys want to do right now and take me in. That's it. That's all. >> Enough sense. >> That's all. That's all I want. That's all I want to That's all I'm going to say. >> They wanted to do that. >> That's all I'm going to say. >> Not doing all this. Sorry. Is there somebody that you guys trust to do? >> No. So, we're going to sit there and take her to our aunt's house where she's going to be shooting that. No, I'm not doing that. Sorry. I don't trust her. I don't trust her aunt. I don't trust nobody there. She had her own sisters got by their own fathers. You think I want my daughter around that? >> I don't know the whole history. I'm just trying to figure out something that doesn't I don't trust her kids. Her her little her little kids sit there and try to feed the baby when she's not attendant around the baby. Baby can sit there and choke and die. Not doing that. No. Her 10-year-old tries to pick up the baby. One false move neck could snap if you don't hold the baby's head the right way. She fell down the stairs with her other little with her her little sister. What do you think? I'm going to sit there and have her carry her. No. Not happy. Sorry. >> You remain in the picture, bro. >> I don't care. Look. Hey, at the end of the day, you guys can do what you guys want to do. That's it. That's wiping my hands with this. Y'all want to arrest me? Y'all going to arrest me and do what you guys have to do. That's it. I'm done talking. Okay. Now, I'm going to get really loud and aggressive. I'm done. done talking here. I don't want I don't want no more words to be exchanged. That's it. That's all. I'm done talking. [ __ ] crazy. Sat there and and grabbed my book and cut it with a knife. That's why the straps are not even on the [ __ ] book bag. She's [ __ ] sick. It's psychotic and crazy, bro. She believes her own [ __ ] lies. That's it. So, if you guys want to do what you guys have to do, you guys can do it now. That's it. That's all. >> Will you go to court? >> Honestly, tell me. >> Will you go to court today? >> Will you go talk to somebody today? >> As long as my daughter's in my possession, yes, I will. >> Other than that, I'm not giving my daughter up. >> So, this is my question then. >> She can do what she wants to do. I don't care. Look at me. >> I'm I'm done. >> Will you go to court with her? >> I'm talking. I'm not going to be in her possession with her. I'm not sorry. She's not going to allow it. She's going to sit there and argue and fight and put up a fight to sit there and do all this. Last time she drove me to the [ __ ] police station and drop me off at the police station. >> But if we arrange for you to get a ride, we take you to the park. >> Uh, no, I'm not worried about nothing. You guys got to do what you guys do. That's what >> I'm I'm giving you another option. >> That's it. I'm done talking. I'm not going to keep yapping my gum [ __ ] I'm sorry to tell you I'm done. I'm not. >> But I'm trying to give you a way that you still your possession and you don't get arrested. How is that not a win-win for everybody? >> That's not because as soon as I get into her vehicle or anything like that, she's going to pick a fight and argue and she's not going to go to the court. She's going to take my ass to the police station and come and the police escort me out of the car. >> Somehow find a way to get you and her >> she's not going to she's not going to apply to anything. She's not. I'm honestly I'm telling you how she is. She's coldarted. She's not going to apply to nothing. >> You guys want to arrest me? You guys can arrest me right now and charge me for child abduction. That's it. I'm I'm not I'm not doing none of this. That's it. I'm wiping my hands with it. Simple. I'm done talking. >> Do you I'm honestly I'm done talking. Ain't no course. No. No. None of this. I'm done. I'm done. >> So logical. >> I'm done. >> You've been so logical today. >> I'm not talking. I'm done talking. I'm honestly I'm done talking. I'm not yapping my gums no more to y'all. I'm done. That's it. >> I just Why did go out the window? because she wants to pull up and do this stupid [ __ ] Little kid [ __ ] out >> close. >> That's why I'm done. No, you guys want to do what you guys got to do. That's it. That's all. Then about your day. >> I mean, it's not it's not just about our day. We're not just going to wipe our hands. >> Well, I don't know what to tell you guys. >> We're trying to do everything we can. >> You're right. >> I don't I don't I don't know what to tell you guys. You guys want to do what you guys got to do. That's it. That's all. You've had a lot of loss in your life and I don't want to see you lose somebody else. >> It's not going to hurt me. >> You're choosing to be >> It's not going to hurt me at all. I'll learn how to live with it. >> Yeah. You might learn how >> I did it 2 and 1/2 years with my other daughter. You think I can do seven, eight years with this one? Yes, I can. And I do it on my [ __ ] head. I don't have I don't got no problem with jail. I don't got a problem with none of that to be honest with you. So, you guys can do what you guys have to do. That's it. Don't talk. Tango 30. >> Did you tell her that you were leaving? Is that why she came back? >> No, I never called her. I haven't contacted her. I just want >> I haven't I didn't even I ain't even call >> I just didn't know why she came back. >> I don't know either. She >> came back cool down. >> It's a cool down. >> She cool down. >> The [ __ ] you looking at? >> Don't start that >> [ __ ] goof ass [ __ ] The [ __ ] on. [ __ ] is he looking at me for? You got a bunch of cops. You can mind his [ __ ] business. Same way they just did. Walk right past without looking. mind their [ __ ] business. Pay pay business that pay them. I'm done talking here. That's it. If you guys got to do what you guys do, I'm not standing out here. >> Are you Are you tight with any of the neighbors? >> Yes, I am. >> Can you stay with a neighbor? >> No, I'm not going to stay. He just left to work. I'm not doing this. >> I'm just trying to find solutions where I don't have to run. >> She can leave her premises and leave me here until I have until she cools off and then she can come back and get her child and that's it. Move about her day. If she can't do that, then I don't know what to tell you guys. She could go stay at her aunt's house for for a couple hours and come back when she's cooled the [ __ ] off cuz she's not cooled off. >> She's telling you guys that just to sit there and get you guys out of out of out of her face. >> We're not leaving. That's not an option. >> I don't know what to tell you. I'm done talking. Honestly, I'm not going to keep going back and forth with none of this. And I want my other phone that that her son has too. It's my possession. It's my property. >> What is the issue if you leave her here and you go off and come back later? She wants to know. >> Yeah. I'm taking my daughter with me. That's that's that's the thing. I'm not leaving my daughter with I don't trust her with my daughter. >> I don't trust her own kids touch her their own [ __ ] siblings, bro. Are you ser Are you serious? I'm not leaving my daughter. Sorry. Nope. In >> the right state of mind of a father, I'm not losing my daughter with someone that that's sick like that. My kids are sick. >> My kids are sick. Her 9-year-old [ __ ] At some point, the courts are going to say that your daughter should be deal with her. >> You can do what you guys have to do. That's all I'm done talking. >> I don't care. I don't care. I don't give a [ __ ] what anybody has to say anymore. I'm done talking to y'all. Now, stop talking to me. Please.
